"The Incident" - Intruloceit -

Warnings : Sympathetic Logan, Deceit and Remus ; (Implied)Unsympathetic Patton and Virgil, (Implied)Morally gray Roman

------------------------------

Remus uncurled himself from Deceit's side as logic himself rose up from the floor. Or, did he just appear? Remus really could care less. He bounced off the couch, out of Deceit's arms and he clung onto Logan.

He could feel the anger bubbling just under Logan's skin, and he grabbed logic's hands, giving them a reassuring squeeze- or as reassuring as far as Remus goes- before plopping back onto the couch and dragging Logan with him. Logan huffed lightly as he was sandwiched between the two darker sides, and he leaned his head back, tension already leaving his muscles.

"What happened this time?" Deceit inquired, beginning to work out the knots from Logan's hair. His ungloved fingers massaged Logan's scalp as he worked, and Logan could only melt into his touches. Remus snuggled into his side like he had been with Deceit, except now he was playing with Logan's hand and drumming his fingers on Logan's thigh.

"They just- they never listen! Even when I know I'm right, they know I'm right, they still just shove me to the side. Am I, am I doing something wrong? I'm literally logic, shouldn't- shouldn't I be listened to at the very least?"

Deceit brushed his hand along Logan's cheek lightly, brushing away a few stray tears. "You aren't doing anything wrong!" Remus piped up, looking up at Logan with a surprisingly calm smile. "My brother and his friends- they're all dense. And they usually refuse to see all sides to something." Remus grumbled out the last sentence, instead focusing again on playing with Logan's hands.

Logan furrowed his brow slightly. "How do you mean?"

"Well, this wouldn't have been the first time they ignored common sense or very needed facts." Deceit answered, fingers leaving Logan's hair to rest his arm around Logan's shoulders. "And I think what Remus means is, they're incredibly stubborn. To the point where it's hard to reason with them. We're all like that, but the others... especially Patton and Virgil, seem to be far less keen on letting themselves be persuaded. They don't like to lose control."

Logan thought back to the last couple of days. All the times he'd brought up an idea that contradicted something either the moral or anxious side suggested, any time Thomas started to listen to him, and every time he just outright called them out on their shit. He'd been shut down every single time, Patton and Virgil seeming to band together and convince Thomas on what he should really do.

And Roman was at least a bit better, but even just today 9 of Logan's ideas were pushed aside in favor of Roman's wild adventure.

"Teach, you need to take it easy." Logan flinched at how Remus' breath hit his ear, cringing at the feeling. Remus laughed lightly into Logan's shoulder, beginning to press kisses to Logan's exposed skin. Remus was still rubbing Logan's hand, and Logan forced himself to unclemch his fist.

"I'll set up some movies, alright. Get your mind off some things. Remus and I could always come and back you up, yknow?"

Logan smiled sadly, tilting his head to press a kiss to Deceit's cheek. "I'd love that, but they really can't know we're all together."

Remus whined lightly. "I hate hiding it, every time I come and visit I just wanna hold you tight and squeeze the life out of you while I smother you in kisses." He intertwined their fingers, raising their interlocked hand to his lips. Remus placed a gentle kiss to Logan's knuckles. "When do you think we'll be able to actually come around and surprise you with affection?"

Deceit sent Remus a warning look. "Now isn't really the time," he said softly. Remus huffed as Logan chuckled slightly.

"No, he's right. I... I admit it feels awful most of the day without you both. I don't think now's a good time but... maybe another week or so. Can you last that long?" Logan gave one of his boyfriends a teasing smirk, and Remus bolted up, a grin spreading across his face.

"Uh, fuck yes I can!" Remus clung to Logan once more as Deceit laughed, standing to go fetch some snacks. "I can't wait to be able to come and be your knight in shining armor when your foes dare to even look at you in a terrible manner!"

Logan rolled his eyes, giving Remus a fond smile. "Yes, I cannot wait for that to happen too."

"He's not allowed to kill anyone!" Deceit called from the kitchen, and Remus went back to pouting.

"But Dee!" Remus whined, slumping against Logan.

"Nope! We are not having another o-eight incident!"

"It won't be o-eight! It'll be different!"

Deceit waltzed back into the living room, setting down their assortment of snacks and he flicked on the t.v. before nestling into Logan's opposite side.

"It will most certainly turn into o-eight. You're not allowed to kill anyone."

Remus huffed and Logan laughed lightly. It felt like a weight lifted off his shoulders as he sunk into the couch cusions. And if he spent more time listening to Deceit and Remus' recounted of the Incident of 08 instead of watching the movie, no one pointed it out. Not when Logan was grinning ear to ear as Deceit wore a smug grin and Remus an embarrassed blush.
