"Hope is gonna officiate!" Remus grinned as he looked up at Deceit. "I promised her when I was asking what she would do. Plus she knows a thing that can do another thing and- yeah."
Deceit hummed, shifting where he lied on his floor across from Remus. "I like that. Far better than letting Roman or Logan do it, I think."
"Any idea as to what you're gonna wear?" Remus asked, resting his head on his hand as he watched Deceit relax. Deceit's cheeks heated up slightly - well, the human side did - before he nodded. "Can I get a hint?"
Deceit laughed lightly. "Nope."
Remus pouted, and Deceit leaned forward to press a quick kiss to Remus's lips. "It'd ruin the surprise, darling. I'm certain you'll like it though."
"You mean you'll be wearing nothing-"
Deceit swatted at Remus's head, receiving a cackle as Remus ducked and Deceit's cheeks warmed up more as he smiled and shook his head. "Unbelievable."
"Whaaaaat!" Remus grinned at him. "I can't compliment how gorgeous you look from now on?"
"If you do it that way, I'll divorce you."
"Wow, we aren't even married and I've already been divorced!" Remus sat up just as Deceit did and moved closer to his fiance. "Must be a record."
Deceit rolled his eyes and pulled Remus into another soft kiss, smiling when he felt Remus press closer and wrap his arms around Deceit. When Deceit pulled away, he pushed a few stray hairs of Remus's out of his face, adoring the way Remus held his gaze with nothing but love in his eyes.
"Why don't you tell me how you're going to make this the least boring wedding to ever occur in the Imagination."
Deceit swore Remus's eyes sparkled in excitement.
-
The wedding was certainly not boring, Remus had promised that and had kept his word. Deceit was a hundred percent certain Remus had spiked the punch, considering how much effort Remus was taking to try and get Logan to drink some.
Roman was offended that he was not asked to officiate, and that Remus had chosen the Dragon Witch of all the figments. Deceit pointed out if Roman had officiated though, he couldn't have been Remus's best man and that shut Roman up. Logan was his own best man, considering that out of all the others, Deceit was closest to Logan.
The venue was packed by Remus's 'citizens'. Some of which Deceit recognized from his trips to the Imagination, others were new to even him though. They ended up starting a dance battle, but Deceit really didn't remember much.
But the wedding itself was truly something Deceit would never forget.
-
He adjusted his outfit one last time, looking it over in the mirror. Deceit bit his lip. It was a long dress that draped just onto the floor, black with golden flecks further up. It was also long-sleeved. Despite how much he knew Remus loved looking at his scales (Remus made a point every morning, literally, to kiss every one of Deceit's scales before they got up), he didn't feel comfortable wearing something that would show them off just yet. But the sleeves he knew the colors would dance in the moonlight, and they wound around his arms in a similar pattern to his scales.
Deceit heard the music start and he looked once more at the mirror before turning on his heel and leaving the smaller room, holding a bouquet of black roses with the occasional deep red mixed in. He took a deep breath before leaving through the massive doors, and it felt like his breath had been taken away.
The creatures Remus called his citizens watched as Deceit walked down the aisle, all watching him closely but also... Fondly. Deceit wondered if Remus's emotions affected them.
The walls of the venue were bright white, making the paintings of realistic hearts and bloodied flowers stand out that much more. Hope tilted her head and smiled at him warmly before glancing at Remus. Deceit followed her gaze and he nearly tripped as he walked closer in time with the music- which was actually a lot calmer than Deceit thought it was going to be.
Remus was standing in his regal attire, the outfit he very rarely ever chose. It was mostly black, looking mostly like a suit until it reached his waist where from there down was a skirt. The skirt faded into a bright green with flecks of black that looked to be stars. His hair looked fluffier than usual as well, and his ruby eyes danced in the light shining down from the full moon. Remus's mouth was agape slightly as he watched Deceit come down the aisle, and Deceit had to keep himself from laughing at the look on his face.
He reached the altar and the music quieted. Remus nor Deceit really paid much mind to the words tumbling out of Hope's mouth, instead, they were both taking in everything, lost in the void of the other's eyes.
They didn't do vows. They didn't need so many words to tell one another they loved them. Their expressions said it all.
"Duke Remus Creativity Sanders," Deceit's attention finally returned to Hope, "do you take this side to be your lawfully wedded husband, for better or worse, in sickness and in health, 'til death do you part?"
Remus tilted his head slightly, his smile ever so soft. "I do."
"And do you, Eden Deceit Sanders, take this side to be your lawfully wedded husband, for better or worse, in sickness and in health, 'til death do you part?"
Deceit swallowed, and he nodded as he spoke. "I do."
Hope summoned their rings into each of their hands, and the pair of sides slipped them onto the other's finger.
"Then I hereby pronounce you husband and husband!"
Remus grabbed Deceit's hips as Hope stepped away, pulling Deceit into a kiss. Deceit melted into Remus's arms as the room erupted into cheers, but it was all background noise as Remus pulled him closer.
That was all that mattered, being there in Remus's arms. And the rest of the night was a blur.
