He grabbed their hands and pulled them close, relishing in the embrace, their warm arms wrapped around him tightly. Rain poured down on them, but none cared. Their tears mixed with the fresh water pounding down on them.

"You're alright-" one croaked, burying their head in Remus' hair. Gasping for breath as they held the creative side tighter. "You're okay."

The other clung to Remus as if he'd never see him again, as if he had expected to never see him again. His words came out broken, dancing in the wind around them. "Don't do that- that ever again. You can't- I can't imagine living without you."

A sob tore it's way through Remus, clawing it's way out of him as his tears mixed with the rain. His heart thudded in his chest, pounding in an attempt to escape. Too much. Too many emotions all at once.

"I'm here, it's gonna be okay-"

"You had us worried to death-"

"Please never leave us again-"

Their words and pleas to one another were a jumble, a mess of tangled vines trying to unravel.

The storm slowly gave way around them, the clouds parting in a circle so the sun would supply them with warmth, with light. It revealed the circle of normally hostile creatures, surrounding them like a barrier, snarling at anyone who tried to go near the trio.

Remus was thankful to them, the traitors from his brother's land were being kept at bay. Finally.

He pulled away to look into their eyes, warm auburn brown behind obsidion rims, dark chocolate and bright yellow surrounded by pink. He cradled their cheeks in his hands, bathing in the relief of knowing that they were here. They were safe. They were okay.

He pulled them close once again, and swore he'd never let go.
