Recitals - Loceit -
Deceit had never felt like this before, giddy. It was very new, but he supposed it was a feeling he wasn't that opposed to. Not when Remus had leant him the Imagination for the evening, with promises of no interruptions from anything. And not when he was walking towards the door with Logan, hand in hand.
Deceit stopped them just before entering, his free hand resting on the doorknob. He looked to Logan, smiling sheepishly. "Do you trust me?"
Logan frowned slightly, brows furrowing, and he tilted his head. "What?"
"Do you trust me?" Deceit repeated, his heart beating in his ears. Slowly, as if processing the question, Logan nodded.
"I have no reason to not trust you. But why do you ask?"
"I need you to close your eyes, and I need you to keep them closed until I say so." Logan nodded again, this time much faster.
"I trust you."
The last thing Logan saw was Deceit's bright, genuine smile. His eyes slipped closed, and he heard the door to the Imagination open. He was immediately hit by the smell of salt, and a cool breeze and the sound of waves crashing against a cliff. Deceit took Logan's hand, pulling Logan inside and letting the door shut softly behind them.
Deceit then walked forward, gently pulling Logan ahead, until he came to a stop just at the water's edge. "Eyes still closed?"
Logan hummed in response, breathing in the fresh air. He smiled wide, excitement bubbling in his chest as he waited for Deceit to tell him to open his eyes.
Deceit pressed a kiss to Logan's lips, firm but very soft and gentle at the same time, allowing Logan to pull away if he wished. Deceit squeezed his hand lightly, murmuring to Logan to keep his eyes closed as he began to trail kisses down Logan's jaw and to his neck. Deceit kissed every freckle he saw, mostly out of habit, but the familiar gesture helped calm his own nerves down.
He trailed the kisses back up, and pulled Logan into a tight embrace, resting his chin on Logan's shoulder. Logan's eyes remained closed as he held Deceit, waiting for the command to open them. He'd never felt more relaxed.
"When was the last time I told you I love you?" Deceit whispered.
"This morning, at eight thirty-seven exactly." Logan spoke just as softly.
"Do you remember what I promised you as well?" Logan shivered lightly as Deceit's hands ghosted just under Logan's shirt, rubbing soothingly at Logan's back and further helping the logical side to relax. Deceit pressed a light kiss just under Logan's ear, and Logan felt the teasing smile against his skin.
"You promised that tonight would be one that I'll never forget."
Deceit nodded, pulling away and pressing one final kiss to Logan's lips. And then he wasn't touching Logan at all, still clearly close by, but not making any contact. Logan heard him take a deep breath. "Okay, open your eyes."
Logan did, and it took a moment for his eyes to adjust to the darkened environment. Once it was clear Logan could see everything, Deceit smiled gently, before sinking to his knee and holding out a small box. Logan blinked, his mind barely taking in what was happening or the words tumbling from Deceit's lips.
If Deceit were being honest, he too didn't really realize what he was saying. He was reciting a speech, something easy to mindlessly speak. He instead focused all his attention on watching Logan, taking in every emotion that flickered over Logan's face.
"So basically, my question is, will you marry me?"
No more words needed to be said as Logan sunk to his knees, nodding frantically. He forced out a nervous laugh as Deceit took an engagement ring from the box, and the tears finally welled up in his eyes as he let Deceit slip the ring onto his finger. Logan really didn't care too much about the ring, and he grabbed Deceit as soon as the deceiving side was done.
Logan pulled Deceit close, mumbling his own words that neither could hear over the ringing in their ears. Only one phrase was understood from Logan's mumblings.
"I love you, thank you so much."
Deceit nuzzled Logan's neck, pulling from Logan only to brush away Logan's tears. "Anything for you, my love."
Logan laughed. "C'mere." He pulled Deceit into a giggle filled kiss, and they fell back into the sand.
