"Remember kiddo! This is for your own good!" Patton's peppery tone barely registered in Virgil's mind. He was preoccupied, distracted by the lashes along his back from the knife Patton held. Blood slid down his sides and stained Virgil's own rug. His heart beat in his ears and arms trembled beneath him as he watched Patton's shoes move in and out of his vision.
"No more... Please..." Virgil whispered, tears running down his eye-shadow smeared and bloody cheeks. Patton's footsteps stilled and he looked down at Virgil, regarding the side with an unimpressed look.
"Really now kiddo, you really think begging will help? You know how I feel about begging!" He asked, crouching down and grabbing Virgil's face. He squeezed his cheeks and smeared more of Virgil's own blood along his jaw. "I was thinking of stopping for the night... But since you begged..."
Virgil's eyes widened. "Patton wait- I didn't- I didn't mean to beg! It was an accident, I swear! Just... Just the pain talking." Virgil smiled forcefully, telling a blatant lie. Patton raised a brow and squeezed Virgil's cheeks harder.
"What did I tell you about lying? Don't make me punish you again," Patton hissed softly. Virgil swallowed thickly as Patton raised the blade to Virgil's shoulder and began to slice at the skin.
Virgil whimpered, and Patton let go of his face. His head fell down to rest on Patton's shoulder, exhaustion and pain eating at Virgil's mind and body. Patton cooed at the action, his free, still blood-coated hand going to rub Virgil's back.
Tears continued to flow from Virgil's eyes as more blood trickled from his body, and Patton's hands pressed hard on his open wounds. The blade continued to travel across his shoulders, carefully slicing at Virgil's fragile skin.
"That's it... Just let it all out, Verge. Remember, this is for your own good! You deserve this! I'm just doing my part. Even if it hurts."
Virgil's breath stuttered as another sob tore through him, and his vision changed from the light blue of Patton's shirt to black. He slumped against Patton, who tutted softly and stopped cutting.
It wasn't as fun if the side was passed out, after all.
