Idiot Prince - CreativiSleep -

Warnings : Blood, Injuries, Major Character Death, hurt no comfort

A/N : Y'know... I've never cried over my own story before. This one broke me. Also! I'll only be posting like, 5 of the stories for right now since those are the ones I'm done with. The others will be posted sometime today!

------------------------------------------------------

Roman felt arms tuck underneath him, felt himself be lifted off the ground. He groaned, pain in his stomach from a gaping hole finally processing. He felt a kiss to the forehead, and cracked his eyes open, just enough to see an equally as roughed up Remy, just without any life-threatening wounds.

He felt so afraid, Remy could see that in Roman's eyes. Even if it took awhile for them to open. Remy could still see it in his prince's eyes. In the Prince who was such an idiot that cared so little for his own life, he'd jump in front of someone who had just betrayed them to save them.

Remy glanced away from Roman, his eyes watering as he tried to keep his own breathing calm. Since when did the trees look so threatening, so dangerous? Remy didn't know. He looked back down to Roman, his Prince on the brink of death in his own arms. The body of the Dragon Witch along with the traitor lay nearby, lifeless. As if Remy would have let them live after hurting his love so dearly.

"Am I... am I going to die?" Roman croaked quietly, and he winced more from the pain shooting through his body. Remy's eyes watered more and he shook his head. He knew he was lying as he spoke. He knew this would have been too good to last.

"No, no... you're just scared... And broken... we're going to get out of here, and you're going to be okay."

Roman groaned again, curling into Remy more. Remy's arms trembled slightly, Roman could feel the guilt and terror radiating off him. Remy wasn't strong enough to carry Roman, not when he himself was exhausted. And the town was easily twenty miles away, too far for Remy to make it there in time to get help and return.

Remy sunk to the ground, his fading Prince still in his arms and the tears started to fall. They streaked down his cheeks and mixed with the blood and dirt that coated his skin.

Roman's vision grew dark at the edges and he reached up, gritting his teeth at the pain. He wiped away Remy's tears and Remy opened his eyes to stare down at Roman. Roman smiled up reassuringly at his guard, the only man he'd ever truly trusted with his life. Roman knew he'd made a mistake as soon as he shoved the traitor out of the way and instead took the sword to the stomach. He knew how badly it'd hurt.

Roman's own eyes watered and Remy leaned down, pressing their foreheads together gently. "Protect my brother, please...? And... And don't blame yourself, love." Roman could feel Remy's tears fall faster, and felt Remy nod slightly.

Of course Remy thought this was his fault. It was his fault. He was supposed to protect Roman, or die trying, and he failed-

Roman suddenly slipped into unconsciousness, and Remy's eyes snapped open. "No, no no no no no..." He whispered, holding Roman closer. "Roman please, stay with me." He cried, but he received no response.

He felt Roman's body go limp, his heart finally stopped it's beating, and Remy wept harder, his hold on Roman slipping as he buried his face in his bloodied hands. His heart raced. It ached. It felt as if he'd been struck by a sword himself. He knew it'd hurt less than this.

He would have rather taken the sword than let Roman take it.
