Princess Delilah was stolen away by a wicked witch, locked in a tower, guarded by a dragon. The classic fairytale. And she was to be saved by her betrothed, Prince Logan.

And so, Logan saved Princess Delilah. They were still to be married. But both their parents found something wrong. Their children seemed cursed, as they didn't love one another as they should.

It angered the parents, but there wasn't anything anyone in the royal families could do. Neither knew what was happening with the other's child, and feared fragile relations might break into an all-out war once more. Neither wanted this.

And so, with no other choices, the Prince and Princess ran away.

Some say they eventually did find love in one another, and would one day return to restore peace to the land. Others say they were so unprepared for the real world, they probably got set ablaze by the horrid witch or a dragon. Few believed that both royals went their separate ways to live out their true happily ever afters.

But no one would ever know.

Roman closed the book dramatically, grinning down as the young boys in front of him groaned. "Papa!" Whined the first, purple blanket wrapped around him tightly. "You promised a happy ending!"

Roman laughed at his son - Virgil - softly. "Oh, but it did my little prince."

The boy's cousin - Patton - frowned up at Roman as the older man scooped up both children with ease. "What do you mean?"

Roman heard the front door of their little cabin opening and closing. The faint voices of his husband and the rest of their little family.

"Well, why don't you both ask your daddies?" Roman hummed, carrying the boys to the living space.

Logan had already begun on dinner, even after just returning, and it seemed Damien and Remus were bickering like the old married couple they were at heart. Patton seemed to brighten at the sight of his father's and Roman let him go, watching as the child dashed to grab onto one of his dad's legs.

Roman strode over to Logan, pressing a quick kiss to his husband's cheek. Virgil groaned in his arms, pulling a face of disgust. Logan rolled his eyes. "So, my star, what story did Papa read to you today?" Logan asked, smiling at them gently.

"The one about Prince Logan and Princess Delilah!" Patton answered before Virgil. Somehow the small child had clambered up onto Remus's shoulders, and was playing with his father's hair.

Logan nearly cut himself preparing the food as Damien fell silent. "Did he now?" Logan asked, looking suspiciously at his husband.

"Yeah, Papa said to ask you guys if it really had a happy ending?" Virgil tilted his head, voice taking on a hopeful tone.

Damien and Logan smiled at one another knowingly, before looking at their kids with such fondness Remus and Roman nearly dropped them as their hearts melted.

"It most definitely did." Logan answered.

"Yeah, they could never ask for more."
