Bonding Time (No Ship)

No ships, just platonic Sander Sides having fun 👈🏼👈🏼

"What makes you think this is okay?" Roman cried, dramatically.

"How could you?" Patton put a hand over his heart with a betrayed look on his face.

"I can't believe you'd do this to us Logan." Virgil muttered, darkly, feeling betrayed.

"Oh for the love of-" Logan threw his hands in the air, "all I did was select the map ending with Rainbow Road!"

"That is the ultimate move of betrayal!" Roman declared as he sat back down in his seat. Patton and Virgil nodded in agreement.

Logan groaned at the complicated emotions his friends were feeling.

The four Sanders Sides had thought it would be fun if they had some bonding time together, so they decided to play a game.

(Well actually it was Patton but he got everyone to participate which was good enough.)

However, Patton had selected Mario Kart as the game to help them bond.

Virgil knew this game would probably break more friendships than help them grow, but he was too curious to see what would happen.

Roman chose Mario as his character, for Mario was the star. The one who saves the day, defeats the villain and saves the princess.

Patton was a red toad, because according to him, the Toad's are adorable.

Logan had found all of the options too childish, so he created a Mii for himself that was based off him.

Finally, Virgil chose Luigi for the simple purpose that he was underrated. That and the fact they hadn't unlocked King Boo yet.

They'd played a round already, and it wasn't actually too bad.

But now Logan has thrown that all out the window as he chose the Special Cup, with Rainbow Road.

"Roman, you were the one who insisted that I choose Rainbow Road," Logan reminded him.

"No I didn't." Roman objected, offendedly.

"But if you didn't then...DECEIT!"

"You called?" Deceit said, appearing out of no where, slightly startling Roman because he was still not used to them not rising out of the ground.

"Did you trick Logan into picking Rainbow Road?" Roman shouted and pointed at him dramatically.

"...no."

"Get out of here, snake face."

"I won't be back." Deceit lied and as he flipped them off, vanished.

The four core sides of Thomas processed this before returning to their game, with Virgil (surprise) being the only anxious one.

"Curse you Logan!" Roman cried as they started the first track out of four, knowing the fourth would kill them all.

A minute of silence passed before the inevitable conflict.

"That is ridiculous. Why would floating rainbow blocks contain banana's?" Logan asked as he narrowly dodged one.

"Roman you're going to drive off that cliff!" Patton yelled.

"No I'm not!" Roman shouted back as he barely managed to avoid going over the edge.

"Geez. One day, you're going to fall off." Virgil warned Roman.

"I doubt it. You're just mad that I'm in first." Roman bragged.

"Not for long." Virgil murmured, internally cackling as he sent a blue shell.

Seconds later, Roman screamed in agony as he was hit, and a car zoomed by him.

"Damn it Virgil!" Roman cursed and tried to get back in track.

Virgil held back a laugh and sat silently as he intensely focused.

Eventually, Virgil was way ahead of everyone, except Roman. It was then that Virgil had an evil idea.

Virgil stopped his car on a cliff, and Roman laughed to himself, planning to bump him off.

Roman drove his car at Anxiety's, but with a second left, Virgil moved his car out of the way and Roman flew off the edge, the car crashing along with Roman's self esteem.

"Are you kidding me?" Roman yelled. Virgil laughed, actually laughed, like A REAL HAPPY LAUGH, before driving off.

Patton temporarily stopped playing and looked at Virgil with happy tears in his eyes. "My son laughed!"

Roman also was staring at Virgil. "Oh my god, he can laugh."

Virgil coughed, uncomfortable with the unwanted attention. "That was one time."

"aaaaAAAHHHHHH."

"Patton, stop." Logan advised.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH."

Logan sighed, annoyed and paused the game so Patton could have a minute. Or five. Or ten. Probably more.

"HE LAUGHED LOGAN."

"I am aware of this Patton. I was there. We are all here. Right now."

"HE'S EVEN MORE ADORABLE WHEN HE LAUGHS."

"For the love of gOD PATTON WE HAVE THE SAME LAUGH."

"I didn't know he could laugh!" Roman was still surprised, and was oblivious to the glare Virgil was giving him.

"HE LAUGHED." Patton repeated again, still extremely excited.

"Don't get used to it." Virgil advised, darkly as he waited for the game to resume. He hated the fact that him laughing was so rare it had to be made a big deal out of.

"Aw, my poor son." Patton looked over at Virgil.

"Lets just accept the fact he laughed so we can move on." Roman said impatiently.

Eventually, Patton calmed down after Roman made a few puns and they resumed the game.

The next two rounds were basically the same, except Virgil didn't laugh and Patton didn't have a heart-attack.

But then it came down to it.

The map Deceit warned them about.

Rainbow Road.

Let the torture begin.

It started out calmly but then-

"Who the heckity heck threw a banana peel there?" Roman screeched as he slipped into oblivion.

Logan smirked and Roman glared.

Meanwhile, Patton laughed in the face of death as he narrowly avoided sliding of the edge of the Rainbow. "Wheeeeeeeee!"

Logan was using his logical skills to predict where to turn. However, he did not predict an ink cloud in his vision, which led him to driving off a cliff.

"That was unexpected. And in no situation would this be realistic." Logan said, somehow still calm and not yelling falsehood at the TV.

"We know Logan. Just go with it." Virgil advised as he gained second place.

Logan rolled his eyes, but refrained from insulting the game again.

"I do not like this!" Roman was getting frustrated.

Patton laughed. "You'd figure that since we're rainbows, we'd be able to conquer this one."

Roman was truly inspired by the horrible pun Patton made and reclaimed his place in second.

"Aha!" Roman declared loudly, back in the race.

However, Roman's comeback came too late as a smirking Virgil crossed the finish line and successfully won the map.

"Not bad Hot Topic," Roman grumbled, bitter that he'd lost as he crossed the finish line in second with only a few seconds difference.

Patton finished a few seconds later, and Logan crossed after another few seconds.

"I win," Virgil smirked. Patton beamed and hugged Virgil, causing him to flinch slightly at the unexpected contact.

"I'm so proud of you!" Patton cried.

"Patton, this is a game where realistically we would all be dead before concluding the round-"

"Logan, stop talking for five seconds okay? Let me be proud of my son."

"It's been five seconds so I shall continue-"

"Logan, no."
