Roman was in his room when he felt it. A weight being put on his shoulders like someone set a brick on them. Instantly he knew what was wrong. No. This can't be happening. Please don't tell me this is happening He stood up and raced out his door heading towards a specific room, forgetting about anything else. Tears were starting to come to his eyes. Please don't let this be happening He thought as he ran down the hall. He ran into something; something he couldn't see, but it was preventing him from going any closer, a wall; a barrier. Roman knew that barriers couldn't be broken unless the person that put them up; took them down. But he banged his fists against the wall, trying to break it nonetheless. "VIRGIL!" Roman screamed over and over again, still trying to get through. "Hey, Kiddo," Patton said softly. Roman turned his head. Both Logan and Patton were standing there. "Roman, you know very well that you are going to break your hand before you break the wall," Logan sighed. "You felt it didn't you!" Roman was blinded by tears. "You felt the weight! You know what it means. He's...he's..." Roman collapsed unable to bring himself to say it. Patton caught him before he hit the ground and started to slowly rocked the prince back and forth.
**Ten minutes earlier**
Virgil was in his room when he came. "You ready?" Virgil nodded. He made an agreement with this stranger and he was going to stick with it. No matter the cost. His job is to protect and he was doing just that. "Let's get it over with," Virgil mumbled. The stranger nodded. "I'm going to put a barrier up," He remarked flicking his wrist. Virgil's eyes went wide. this wasn't a part of the deal "You can't," The emo persona begged. "Let them say goodbye to me. And it wasn't a part of the deal." "If you want to truly protect them then it has to go up." He replied. Virgil didn't move as the stranger came closer drawing out a sword. The sword was placed over Virgil's chest and his breath hitched in his throat. "This will all be over before you know it," Virgil felt pain as he collapsed on the floor barely able to move. "Just...just get it over with..." He stuttered and the stranger crouched down. "If you insist," Came the reply and Virgil felt more pain. His vision started growing dim and the stranger's voice quieter. Virgil heard a faint scream. A scream from a voice that sounded too familiar not to be recognized. Roman. They know. Virgil could feel himself slipping away. I'm sorry Roman, but it's for your protection And everything went still. Roman knew. The instant it happened. But he didn't -couldn't bring himself to acknowledge it. Patton was in instant tears still rocking Roman back and forth. He stopped and they hugged each other. Roman's tears were gone and everything felt numb. Logan stood there in shock not sure how to process it.

The barrier was still up around Virgil's room and it tore Roman apart knowing he couldn't properly tell Virgil good-bye, but at the same time, he didn't want to. He didn't want to confirm what he was afraid he already knew. He couldn't accept it. He wouldn't. And he just can't. "Roman?" Patton said through the door. "Please come out and eat something." Patton came by every day asking Roman to come out, but he couldn't. Because everything reminded him too much of Virge. Roman didn't respond; Patton sighed and walked away. He didn't want to hurt Patton but he couldn't bring himself to leave his room. Roman was in his room for the past two weeks. He just laid on his bed not willing to do anything. He put up a barrier around his room so no one could come in. Roman didn't eat, but he also didn't sleep. Every time he closed his eyes memories of Virgil and him would fill his mind. Times of when they fought and times of when they got along and enjoyed each other's company. And the first time Virge told Roman he loved him. And when Roman asked Virgil to be his boyfriend.
