AU: Mid-evil

Basic Idea: I haven't been able to stop thinking about this idea for an entire week, I need to write it down or god help me-

Prince Patton's coronation is coming a bit early because the King is too old to work for much longer, and the Queen has been dead for years. In the couple of months before the coronation, the King assigns Logan Pyre to be Patton's personal servant- basically, follow him around and do whatever Patton asks. Patton, (whos only friend was his mother,) is starved of social interaction and thinks of Logan more like a personal friend instead of a servant. He tries to get Logan to do fun things, say what he thinks, and just basically say 'no' once in a while. Logan has trouble understanding why Patton is so determined to get Logan out of his shell.

Meanwhile, Patton is presented with several princes from other kingdoms to be his suitors. (yes, the king knows he's gay and he's proud). Patton isn't interested in any of them, but becomes good friends with Prince Roman- who is obviously smitten with the palace cook, Virgil.

The King, Janus, (who is bisexual because I can and world-building exists) (and also has moved on from the queen just to make it clear, he misses her but he's accepted her death) is growing older. His son insists that Prince Roman stay in the castle for a bit, only because they are friends. Prince Roman's Father, Remus, ALSO insists on staying near his son at all times. He's insanely protective. So, two very old kings of insanely different kingdoms, are forced to spend more time together than is considered formal. And maybe they find something they hadn't had in a long time, in each other.
