Patton was feeling down. Well more than down. He was sad. Very sad. He was feeling like he was struggling to cope with the recent events and he was starting to lose himself.

You see it all started last week when Dylan broke up with Thomas. They were so happy for a solid year(or so it seemed) Patton noticed that Dylan had began to change towards Thomas, not calling him, they stopped meeting because he was "too busy" and didnt reply to texts. Patton could feel something bad was going to happen. Then last Wednesday Dylan did the things that Patton had been dreading for days. He broke up with Thomas and he felt his world come crashing down around him. Through text! Not even face to face. Patton was feeling all sorts of bad and locked himself in his room that day. "I'm gonna go talk to him" Virgil said after he watched his dad run crying out the room. "No Virgil. I think it's best if you leave him for now, let him calm down" Logan said stopping him. Virgil sighed, looked up at the stairs, nodded and sat back down again. Logan did know best after all. He's logic and Patton's boyfriend, so if anyone knew what to do it would be him. Everyone was feeling down that day and the mind palace remained quite all round.

By the Friday things seemed to be peeking up a little bit for everyone- everyone except Patton. Logan, who wasn't at all in touch with his emotions therefore wasn't effected as much, had been going around trying to help everyone. Virgil's anxiety had been crippling him over the last couple of days and kept himself in his room to calm him down. Logan had been comforting him when he went into an attack and brought his food and drinks up to his room so he could remain calm and didn't need to be around anyone else if he didn't want to. Roman was struggling to come up with more ideas for things to make and create and getting all flustered with everything. Logan sat in his room with him while Roman vented and then they would sit together trying to plan out new things. Now Patton however was a completely different story. Patton was Thomas' feelings, his heart. And it's fair to say that Patton was broken. He looked like there was 0 life in him. Logan understood that Patton would need longer to recover and he would join Patton at night they the would snuggle together in Patton's bed surrounded by all sort of teddies and soft toys.

However a couple of weeks went by and there was no change in Patton's mood, yes he came downstairs now to make dinner at the same time and yes he went about cleaning like normal, but he didn't do any of the fun things he liked to do anymore. He didn't sit and watch Steven Universe at 5pm anymore. He didn't do any baking at all. He didn't walk around the mind palace whistling the theme tune to Winnie the Pooh. Patton just wasn't Patton. He was an empty shell of a Patton. Logan was starting to get worried.

It was 5:15pm and in normal circumstances Patton would be in front of the TV with Steven Universe on. But he wasn't. Logan decided that enough is enough and he needs to help shake Patton our this all time low he was in. He decided to go on a hunt for him. After about ten minutes of looking in the usual places he could be Logan decided  to check Patton's room. As he approached it he could hear light sobbing. Logan knocked and the sobbing stopped. "Patton?" Logan pushes the door open slowly to find Patton day on his bed sobbing his heart out.

"Patton what's the matter" Logan walked to the bed and sat behind Patton a look of concern on his face. "T-Thomas l-loved him Logan. *sniff* We tired out best. Where did we go wrong?!" Patton broke down on Logan. Logan's heart broke for Patton. Although he is not tuned in with his feelings he still has them and seeing Patton in the state that he was in hurt Logan. Logan watched in dispair and start to comfortingly rub Patton's back. "Hey, Patton. Listen to me, he clearly wasn't the one for Thomas. There will be others and maybe they will be the one that Thomas is looking for to complete him. Things happen for a reason and I'm sure there's a logical reason as to why this happened. But I can assure you that there will be someone in time that will love Thomas for who he is forever" Patton looked at Logan let one last and nodded. "Thank you Logan"
"That's quite alright"
"Hug?"
Logan leaned forward to give Patton a hug. He wrapped his arms around his boyfriend pulling him close and giving him a light squeeze. Patton giggled and tried to get out of his hold. Logan made a note of where his hands were and they were on Patton's sides. Logan held tighter and pressed in to Patton's sides. Patton squirmed and laughed "Lohohohan sthahahap"
"I think I know how I'm going to cheer you up a little more my dearest Patton"
Logan gently pushed Patton back as to not hurt him. Patton giggled in anticipation knowing what's going to happen. "Patton breathe and the safe word is baking" Patton nodded. Logan gently tickled Patton. "Ahhahahahahahahahahahahahhahah thahahahahahank yhohohohhohohou hahahahahahahahahahah" Logan smiled in response. It was good to see Patton laughing again. He has missed it so much. After another ten minutes of giggling and laughing Patton said the safe word. Logan let up and watched Patton come down off his high smiling lovingly his heart full. Patton sat up and hugged Logan again. Logan pulled away slightly and kissed Patton sweetly on the nose. "You want to go and bake something?" Patton asked
"If it means I'm going to see the old Patton again then definitely." They held hand and walked through the mind palace to the kitchen all content and happy as can be.
