Logicality - Naive.

Thomas was hanging out with some old friends and Roman and Virgil had gone on a date so the two glasses wearing sides were alone in the living room. Logan had to admit he found the whole arrangement awkward.
It's not like Logan disliked Patton, it was just... he was always so happy. It was so weird. They were in living room, watching The Dragon Prince on Netflix.
For the most part, Logan found Patton's company... tolerable but there was one thing he found incredibly strange. He absolutely obsessed with ships (Not the same as a boat apparently.) and would constantly scream "My ship!" when two of the characters communicated. It was really bizarre to watch, Patton practically bouncing on the couch with a goofy grin on his face.
Actually come to think of it, it was kinda ado-
...
Nevermind.
Patton's energy contained much more enthusiasm than Logan's did who, unsurprisingly, was not bouncing in his seat. He sat as a normal person would which meant there was a stark constrast between the two. Most of the binge session had been silent besides from Patton's fanboying over how badass Rayla. But Logan had a question on his mind the entire time.
He bothered him endlessly that Patton was so... happy. He sent so much time so much time with negative people but still remained positive. Why could someone be so happy? He decided to ask the question directly. "Hey Patton?" He hummed in response, turning around on the couch so he was facing Logan. He still had the brightest smile on his face and Logan reconsidered asking for moment.
Of course, he didn't chsnage the conversation course he had planned out. "Why are you so cheerful all the time?" Surprisingly, that question didn't ruin Patton's mood, maybe even enhanced it. What? He enjoyed Logan's company and talking to him.
"The world's a beautiful place full of amazing people, why shouldn't I be happy?"
Patton gestured around him as if their surroundings were proof enough to back his claim, a smile still on his face. Patton saw Logan roll his eyes out of the corner of his eye, turning to him questioningly with his smile faded slightly. Logan faced Patton with a unreadable expression before replying harshly. "Only a naive person like you would say that."
That clearly caught Patton off guard. His eyes widened slightly in shock.
"W-what?" Logan shook his head and turned back to the screen. He honestly meant it but it also a joke of sorts,he really didn't mean to harm Patton's feelings. "Nevermind." Nevermind was Logan's sort exit word to get of discussion he'd rather not be involved in and he used it often around Patton. He said it and the conversation seized to exist but in this case, it seemed so did Patton.
He went completely silent. He didn't fidget or jump up and down in his seat in excitement for his possible ship having a moment that may of supported the idea the pairing would come to fruition by the stories. Nothing. Logan glanced over at him, noticing Patton was looking at his phone. It was on dictionary.com and the word definition on screen more specifically was naive.
Crap.
Patton looked up from his phone slightly so Logan looked back at the tv screen. For the next few minutes before the episode ended, Logan could practically feel but he chose not to bring it up as to not make the problem then it needed to be. As soon as the credits began rolling, Patton stood and walked behind the couch, Logan's eyes following him before the moral side spoke. "Give me a minute."
His voice was cold, almost trembling. Honestly it put Logan on edge. Logan decided not to start the episode without him, reading a chapter of his book quickly. He looked at the time and it had been five minutes. That is four minutes longer than Patton had made Logan except. Peculiar. Logan knew exactly why Patton was still upstairs and he knew how to fix it.
As much he wasn't used to it.
As Logan approached the door, he could hear sniffles and gasps for breath. It was quite obvious that the emotional trait was crying and even thinking about that image made a sinking feeling engulf his chest. He knocked on Patton's pastel blue door with the back of his fist. There was a pause before a quiet voice spoke, muffled by the door. "G-go away."
In any other circumstance, Logan would've walked back down stairs and continued reading his book but not this time. He hesitated for small moment before opening the door and Patton fell between his legs. The door was Patton's support and Logan rid him of that support. Logan stepped back with a completely red face, the position being uniquely unpleasant.
Patton slowly sat up, holding his head as Logan walked around him and crouched down, offering him a hand. Patton looked directly at Logan's hand then back up at him before standing up on his own and walking to his bed. Logan brushed it off, whipping his hand off on his tshirt and standing up himself. Patton sat on his bed with a smile on his face.
"Hey Logan, you need something?" He said this in his normal tone, cheerful and peppy. It was still obvious he wasn't happy, especially considering how red his face was. "I-I uh..." Logan was so sure of what he was going to say but now he was completely stunned. Patton was back to his normal self? But he was just crying before. Logan would never understand emotions.
He found his tongue and spoke as professionally as he could. "I came to apologize." Patton looked surprised before shaking his head and spinning around so his legs were hanging off the other side. Logan walked over, unsure of what to do or say. "Mind if I sit here?" Logan pointed to the spot next to Patton who shrugged. Logan took that as a yes, sitting down and squirming uncomfortably.
A few seconds of silence past as Logan looked out the window before the logical side glanced to Patton. He was
looking down at his lap and twiddling his thumbs awkwardly. Logan sighed and spoke softly. "I'm sorry Patton." Patton shook his head as if telling Logan to stop. He uncrossed his legs and pulled them to his chest, almost hugging them as if they were his only support.
He sighed, burying his head in his knees so his voice was again muffled but not as much. "No, it's fine. I get why you said it. But do you? He lifted his head, looking at Logan with concerned eyes. Logan raised an eyebrow, confused on what he meant. Patton quickly clarified. "Do you really think the world is all bad?" Logan pursed his lips in thought.
Sure, some parts weren't the greatest but would he say the world was totally horrible? No, that would be illogical and a large assumption on his part. "No. There are some good things like a great book and... you." Logan whispered the last part under his breath but Patton still heard him, letting an 'aww' noise. Logan went a light pink and looked away, causing Patton to giggle.
"My ships are awesome too!" It hurt not to roll his eyes at Patton's comment but Logan still smiled. However it faultered when a question came to mind. Now Logan hated to back track but he was curious enough to possibly undo their progress for an answer. Thomas' science teacher did once say 'A question not asked is a question wasted'. "Say, why do you like shipping so much?"
Patton's eyes lit up and his smile brightened if that was even possible. It was obvious he was thinking about Roman and Virgil since his influence is what got them together in the first place. "I just like seeing love and happiness between people." Logan's next question came out before he could think about it properly, that explaining it's stupidity.
"Have you shipped anyone with yourself?" He didn't his mistake before it was too late. Patton frowned and looked at his knees, twiddling his thumbs. "Yeah, but h-he and de-dee-" He cut himself off but Logan knew what he was referencing. He mentally face palmed, damn it Logan. Patton really liked a boy once and invited both him and Deceit to a Christmas party.
They ended up kissing under the Mistletoe and now they're dating. It really sucked. "He just, it wasn't his fault it wasn't anyone's fault um..." Patton stuttered over his words before taking a deep breath and turning to Logan with a somber expression. "I like shipping. You don't get hurt that way." A single tear fell from Patton's eye, followed by many others.
Logan had to admit, Deceit was attractive in a sort of mysterious way but that didn't make up for his lack of soul. He grabbed a box of tissues from the side table. "Here." He handed Patton the box of tissues who quietly thanked him. Logan wasn't a very comforting person but he was trying, rubbing circles into his back. Patton choked on his own breathe, making him cough.
"Easy." Logan coaxed, still really having no idea what he's doing. Patton whipped his eyes with a tissue, shaking his head. "I'm sorry." Logan looked at him perplexed. He moved his hand that was rubbing his fellow sides back to gently shake his shoulder to get his attention which he succeeded at. "For what?" Patton looked at him as if he was crazy. He gestured to the tear marks on his cheeks."I'm crying Logan!"
Logan shook his head. "Yeah, I noticed." Logan actually did roll his eyes this time. However Patton didn't notice as he let his legs fall off the side of the bed and looked at his hands before clenching them. "I shouldn't be crying, everyone wants me to be happy." Patton let his hands open, burying his head in them and erupting into a sobbing mess once more.
"It's ok, it's ok." A phrase Logan repeated insistently trying to get it in Patton's head but also his own to a degree. When it wasn't working, he realized what he had to do. Hug him. Logan wasn't a fan of contact but it had to be done. He'd also much rather deal with touching than a crying Patton but he'd never say that outloud. It really wasn't a Logan type thing to say the least.
He pulled Patton into a hug, earning a surprised yelp. Logan rested his head on Patton's shoulder, arms securely wrapped around Patton's torso. Patton hesitated before wrapping his arms around Logan too. Patton nuzzled into Logan's neck, still crying and wetting his shirt which he was fine with. It felt his cheeks were burning, that's when he figured it out.
He was crying. He groaned in his head. Here he was, a grown man, crying over a boy. Not because Patton broke his heart or some crap, because Logan broke his. Destroyed his little happy spirt. Eventually, Logan let a small sniffle, quiet but still audible. Patton looked up at Logan who had red all around his eyes and tears slipping down his cheeks. "We're both crying!"
Patton started laughing, the tears still falling down his face. Logan let a small chuckle himself, whipping the tears from his eyes with the palm of his hand. Patton cleaned his eyes when he got over his giggle fit, still having a smile on his face. He stood up and offered a hand to help Logan up who gladly took it. "We should go back downstairs."
Thank God. Patton's room was starting to affect him making him... emotional. Besides he didn't want to explain why Patton was crying. They both ventured back downstairs, continuing to binge The Dragon Prince. About three episodes in, Patton fell asleep and leaned his head on Logan's shoulder. Logan smiled before turning off the TV.
There were better things in life than Netflix anyway. Like a hazelnut haired boy with freckles who always smiled. But when Logan made him cry, it was ok. He mended the damage and the boy smiled once more. Logan could distantly hear the door clicking open before he fell asleep.

2058 words.
This is based on the first three chapters of an APHMAU/Zanechan book called a broken meifa. It's way better than this (Especially cause its orginal, unlike my crap) so I recommend it if you're in the fandom.
