I was just walking around town like normal, I can't see. I love to walk around town. Mostly because I want to be able to see again and I will find my soulmate easier is I get out and do something. I know my soulmate will be deaf, typically you know what birth defect your soulmate will have, everyone knows how the soulmate thing plays out, once you find them you are cured if your defect at birth, but once your soulmate dies, you will have both defects. It will really suck for someone like me. I wish I didn't have a soulmate because I do not want to experience this. I envy those who don't have one. I want my hearing forever, sight doesn't really matter to me as I have never had it before, but I walk around town anyway. My mother and father won't have it with me, so at least if I find this mystery person I won't have to live with them...

I bumped into someone because I got lost in my thoughts.

I could see! This person was my soulmate! I could finally stop living with my mother and father!

Woah, this man is handsome...

Great, I'm gay, now my parents will hate me more.

"Hello." I say to this man

"Hello?" he says back

"Can you understand what I'm saying?"

"Yeah, unlike most people I somehow learned how to hear but never actually heard anyone... "

"Oh, so who are you?"

"My name is Patton! What's yours?"

"I like your name, Mine's Virgil."

"I like your name too!"

"So, do you want to do something today?"

"Could we go to your house?"

"No!" I said immediately, I don't want my mother and father to beat the living hell out of me.

"Okay, sorry, just out of curiosity, why not?"

"I-i don't want to talk about it... "

"Okay, how about we go to my house?"

"Okay. "

"Let's go!"

When we got to Patton's house he introduced me to his Mother and Father.

"Mom! Dad! Guess what?" he signed

"What's up darling?" his mother signed back

"I found my Soulmate!"

"That's awesome sweetie, so can you hear?"

"Yep!" this time he spoke.

"Hello" I said from the corner.

"Hi, who are you?" his mother asked me.

"I'm Virgil... "

"I'm Betty, nice to meet you Virgil!"

"Thanks, nice to meet you too."

"You wanna go to my room?" Patton asked me.

"Sure" I responded.

We talked and got to know eachother, Patton taught me about alot of colors and the words that went with them.

One conversation in particular surprised me

"So, why do you hate your parents so much?"

"Well, I mean, they both always put me down, they hate me, I hate them. "

"Oh."

I wasn't surprised by the question, or the answer, but by my response, I have never told anyone about my horrible parents, I knew if they found out I did, they would beat the ever living crap out of me.

Eventually I had to go home. I had to tell my mother that I found my soulmate, she expected me to move in immediately with the "Unlucky girl." Unfortunately for her, she would not get her wish.

"Hello Mother!" I called when I got home, I had my glasses and cane in my hand, I wasn't using it because I didn't have to. She would pick up on it soon.

"Come in here right now Virgil!"

"I'm coming Mother."

She saw me not using my cane to get to the kitchen. I couldn't escape anymore.

"So, did you find your soulmate? Maybe you'll actually be useful for once."

"Yes I found my soulmate, what did you call me in here for?"

"DONT CHANGE THE SUBJECT ON ME MISTER!"

"Yes Mother," I said in a very small voice.

"Now, who is the unlucky b***h?"

"His name is Patton... "

"SO IT'S A GUY?"

"Yes... "

"I CANT BELIEVE YOU, YOU HAVE BROUGHT SHAME TO OUR FAMILY, I HOPE YOU DIE IN A HOLE FOR YOUR SINS!"

I know, she's very extreme. I wish I had nicer parents. She talked for a while longer, but you don't want to hear that crap.

"Mother? Can we please stop talking about my soulmate? Can we talk about why you called me in here in the first place?"

"Fine, but your father will here about this."

Apparently she called me in to tell me to do the dishes, laundry, clean every room in this house, and other chores most parents would normally do.

I mostly stayed at Patton's after that.

It was several years after I met Patton, we were married and we lived happily together. But then something happened

Patton was beaten by my mother to death. I didn't know what was going on at the time, but I started losing my hearing while I was vacuuming. I was also losing sight of everything around me. I stopped the vacuum and just broke down and cried. I couldn't believe he would die so soon after we got married, I thought we would grow old together and have children, clearly not though. He was dying

I could no longer here my sobs, I couldn't see the tears. I loved him, I loved him with all my heart.

I still couldn't believe he was gone. I couldn't talk to my friends very easily, so I couldn't go to either of them for advice. I couldn't do anything about it, I just broke down and cried. That's all I could do.

I couldn't call my mother, she would just yell at me. I couldn't call my father, he would yell at me too.

I couldn't do anything about Patton's death. I could go to someone's house and ask for a hug.

No I can't, I don't know the way. I'm stuck here on the floor until someone notices my absence, which probably won't happen.

Well, looks like I'll die soon and be with Patton again.

Y'all probably want a part two, don't you, also this is my first agnsty thing like ever... How did I do, did I make anyone cry? I almost hope I did, only because I want to be a good writer.
