Author's Note
Bid farewell for the seventh installment of the Life series! It was nice to read Ligaya's point of view, the process, and how it progressed. I wanted to share her story well—how she lived, laughed, and loved. A story of an eldest daughter, a sister, and a friend, but most importantly, a genuine lover—I somehow see her character like that. This story is wholeheartedly made for Ligaya to tell her side and the truth, and some of it is about Sebastian's lies and truths. But most importantly, it is about first love, which we thought would last, but it honestly can from a different perspective. First love never dies doesn't mean you still love your past lover with affection and intentions. I want to tell you that first love never dies in the sense that you still love that person as a friend, and by person, it doesn't mean actually a past lover, but it can be past friends. You grew together and you grew apart; that's life, but that doesn't mean the love you shared at a certain time in the past should be forgotten, because at that certain time you felt happy the way you knew genuine happiness is and fell in love the way you knew love was, and that's how life plays.
And for that, if a part of this story touched your heart, I dedicate this story to you! I hope you enjoyed and learned from Ligaya's life story—how life throws you different kinds of bread and you must never waste it. And how to be genuine happy besides all the sorrows and lows and breads and lemons you get—all things not getting in your plans—you must learn how to wait and say, Sandali lang naman, and then continue. To you, who have been through a lot as a daughter, a sister, and a friend, this is for you. And if no one ever told you this, I'm truthfully and genuinely proud of you, proud of whatever you're doing in life, and proud of what you're becoming.
And just like Ligaya, I hope you continue loving your life the way you give love to others.
-em.
