Bhalla House:
It is almost sunset, by the time everyone returns home. As everyone walks into the house, they realise everything about their day to day lives has changed. In fact this day, has changed their lives forever. It will take some time, for everyone to understand what exactly these changes mean for each one of them but one thing is for sure, considering how broken everyone is feeling, these changes will come with its own kind of pain.
Raman walks in along with all the other Bhallas, the Raghavs and Iyers. He takes a few steps and stops. Adi's photo, is still on the drawing room table, where Raman had placed it in the morning before he lit a diya and placed some flowers in front of it. The diya is almost out of oil, a tearful Neelu is sitting on the floor and with slightly trembling hands, she is refilling the diya so that it continues to burn. Toshi silently walks behind Neelu and gently places her hand on her shoulder. Slightly startled Neelu turns around. She realises everyone is home. She quickly wipes her tears.
Neelu: Mummy Ji... aap log aa gaye. Main sabke liye pani... Mummy Ji... you all are back... I'll get water...
Before Neelu can finish her sentence, Toshi hugs her.
Toshi: Neelu.... dekh... dekh... hamara Adi... chala gaya... tu... tune uska kitna khayal rakha... bachpan se... aur dekh aaj... Look Neelu... our Adi... is gone... you took care of him since his childhood... and today...
Raman: Sorry Neelu... tu bhi is ghar ki hi hai aur jaldi mein hum tujhe chod ke chale gaye... Sorry Neelu... you are also part of this house and we didn't take you with us...
Neelu: Nahi Bhiaya... main... main pani lati hoon.... No Bhaiya... I... I'll get water...
Everyone sits in the drawing room, in silence, staring at Adi's photo. They quietly take a glass of water each from Neelu, but no one drinks a sip. They just hold the glass in their hands and the silence gets more intense, as everyone is lost in their own thoughts.
Raman silently gets up, and walks towards the downstairs washroom. A minute or so after he is gone, the doorbell rings. Ruhi is sitting closest to the door. She silently passes the glass she is holding to Shravu and gets up to answer the doorbell. She opens the door, stares at the person on the other side for a few seconds in silence. She then takes a step in the direction of the person standing in front of her and the silence in the house is broken by the sound of Ruhi's loud crying.
Everyone turns around but they cannot see whom Ruhi is hugging and crying. At this point Raman returns from the washroom, he notices Ruhi crying with someone at the main door.
Raman: Yeh darwaze pe kaun hai... Ruhi kisse pakad ke ro rahi hai? Who is at the door? Who is Ruhi hugging and crying?
Mihika: Pata nahi Jiju, Ruhi ne darwaaza khola aur phir bus rone lagi. Shayad pados se... No idea Jiju, Ruhi opened the door and started crying. Maybe a neighbour...
Raman stares at Mihika and then he puts two and two together in his head. Why is he even asking this question? There is only one person in this world in front of whom Ruhi could break down like this. He knows it and he can feel her presence nearby too. His blood boils with anger. He cannot remember the last time he has felt this kind of fury. His expressions harden, his body language changes and he hurriedly walks towards the main door. Everyone senses there is something wrong and they too follow Raman.
Raman reaches the doorway, he grabs Ruhi with all the strength he can muster, pulls her apart from Ishita and then steps between the two of them, as if he is like a wall between the two.
Raman: Tum.... tum yahan... tumhari himmat kaise hui yahan aane ki? You...here... how dare you come back here!
Ishita sees the rage in Raman's eyes, she hears the anger in his voice, she notices the pain in his facial expressions. She stares at him in silence, as tears continue to stream down from her eyes, not saying a word. Then automatically without even realising what she is doing, she raises her arms, to reach out to him, to hold him in her embrace for she knows, she can feel it, he needs her to take his pain away just like she needs him to draw some strength and take her pain away.
His firm hands, catch grip of her arm before they can even reach him, and there is nothing soft, gentle or caring about his touch. It is rough, cold and hard. She flinches a little sensing the force he is applying against her. His hand grabs her arm a little more tightly and then he roughly pushes her away. She stumbles a little, taking a few steps backwards away from the main door of her home and into the apartment corridor, but manages to steady herself. She looks at him aghast...
Raman: How dare you! Tumhe ab aage badhke mere pass aane ka... koi haq nahi hai. You no longer have the right to come close to me.
Ishita: Raman... I know... aap kis takleef se guzar... rahe ho.. Raman... I know... the pain you are going through...
Raman: Huh.... really... Ishita... tum... tum janti ho... tum kya janogi mere dard ko... mere takleef ko... yeh dard toh bus wahi jaan sakta hai jisne khud apna beta khoya ho... aur tum... tumhara toh koi beta hi nahi... Really Ishita... you... you know... how can you feel my pain... this pain can only be felt by someone who has lost their son... and you... you have no son...
Ishita: Raman... Adi mera bhi beta... Adi is my son too...
Raman: NO!! APNI GANDI ZUBAAN PE MERE BETE KA NAAM DOBARA KABHI MAT LANA. AUR USSE APNA BETA KEHNE KI GALTI DOBARA MAT KARNA. WOH TUMHARA BETA NAHI HAI. USKI MAA YAHAN HAI.... DON'T YOU DARE TAKE MY SON'S NAME WITH YOUR FILTHY MOUTH. AND DON'T YOU DARE REPEAT THE MISTAKE OF CALLING HIM YOUR SON AGAIN. HE IS NOT YOUR SON. HIS MOTHER IS RIGHT HERE...
Raman turns around and silently points at Shagun.
Ishita: Raman... main bhi Maa hoon... I am his mother too...
Raman: ISHITA MAA BACCHO KO JEVAN DETI HAI, UNPE GOLI NAHI CHALATI! ADI NE HAMESHA SIRF TUMHE PYAAR KIYA, TUMHARI IZZAT KI, TUMHARA MAAN RAKHA... LEKIN TUM... TUMNE KYA KIYA... USKE APNEPAN KA ITNA GALAT FAYDA UTHAYA! ISHITA A MOTHER GIVES LIFE TO A CHILD, SHE DOES NOT SHOOT HER CHILD. ADI ALWAYS LOVED YOU, RESPECTED YOU, VALUED YOU... BUT YOU... WHAT DID YOU DO... YOU EXPLOITED THE FEELINGS HE HAD FOR YOU!
Ishita: Raman, main majboor thi... mere pass aur koi rasta nahi tha... agar aap meri jagah pe hote, aap bhi wahin karte. Raman, I was helpless....I was left with no other choice... had you been in my place you too would have done the same.
Raman: Ishita agar main tumhari jagah pe hota...toh main khud goli ke samne aa jata.. lekin Adi ko kuch nahi hone deta... Ishita if I were in your place, I would have come in front of the bullet myself... but I would have not let anything happen to Adi...
Ishita: Raman... us waqt... jo sahi tha... Raman...I did what was right at that moment...
Raman: SAHI AUR GALAT KA FAISLA KARNE WALI TUM HOTI KAUN HO! ADI KI ZINDAGI KA FAISLA KARNE WALI TUM HOTI KAUN HO! WHO ARE YOU TO DECIDE WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG! WHO ARE YOU TO DECIDE THE FATE OF ADI'S LIFE!
Ishita looks desperately at Shagun and Aliya.
Ishita: Shagun... Aliya... tum dono wahin the... please samjhao sabko... agar Adi ko nahi rokti toh woh acid Roshni pe... SHAGUN... ALIYA...YOU BOTH WERE ALSO THESE... PLEASE TELL EVERYONE...HAD I NOT STOPPED ADI HE WOULDVE THROWN ACID AT ROSHNI...
Shagun: Ishita... Acid se Roshni ki jaan toh nahi jati... hum acche se accha treatment kara ke usko theek kar sakte the... aur hum aisa karte bhi... lekin Adi... Adi ke saath jo hua hai... use kabhi sudhara nahi ja sakta... Adi kabhi wapas nahi ayega Ishita... aue yeh sab TUMHARI WAJAH SE HUA HAI! Meri zindagi ki sabse badi glati thi jis din maine Adi ko tumhare hawale kar diya tha. Tumne toh uska kuch aur hi matlab nikal liya. Tumne socha ki ab tum Adi ke liye har faisla le sakti ho: yahan tak tum yeh bhi decide kar sakti ho ki woh jiyega ya marega. Ishita tumhare ek faisle ne meri zindagi barbaad kar di. ADI IS DEAD! Ishita... acid would not have killed Roshni...we could have gotten her the best treatment and made sure that she makes a full recovery...in fact we would surely have done that...but Adi...what happened with Adi... we can never change that...Adi is gone and he will never come back... and ALL THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE OF YOU! I made the biggest mistake of my life the day I gave you Adi's responsibility. You took that to mean something completely different. You thought this means you can take every decision for Adi: including how long he lives and when he dies. Ishita your one decision has ruined my life.
Ishita raised her hands to cover her ears, not wanting to listen to these words.
Raman: KANO KO DHAK LENE SE SACCHAI BADAL NAHI JAYEGI. ADI IS DEAD AND IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT! COVERING YOUR EARS WILL NOT CHANGE THE TRUTH.
Ishita still does not lower her hands, not until she is sure that Raman has stopped yelling the words, that pierce her heart every time she hears them or even thinks of them.
Bala: Ek minute Raman. Aaj ke bhagdor mein tumhe mauka nahi mila batane ka. Adi ke maut ka reason Ishita ki chalai goli nahi hai, uske sar pe lagi us patthar se chot hai jiske wajah se uska brain swell kar gaya tha aur woh coma mein gaya. Maine khud pata kiya hai, post mortem ki report mein yahin conclusion hai. One minute Raman. In all the chaos of the day I never got the chance to tell you all something. The cause of death is not the bullet Ishita shot at Adi, it is the injury he got when his head hit the stone. That injury caused his brain to swell and he slipped into coma. It says so in the post mortem report.
Toshi: Bala, Adi us patthar pe gira kyun, kyunki Ishita ne uspe goli chalai. Agar Ishita goli nahi chalati. Bala, Adi feel on that stone because Ishita shot him. Had Ishita not shot him...
Bala: Aunty Ji. Aise toh agar Adi Roshni ko shaadi ke mandap se nahi utha ke le jata toh yeh sab hota hi nahi. Toh kya galti Adi... Aunty, then had Adi not kidnapped Roshni from her wedding then none of this would have happened in the first place. So then is all this Adi's fault?
Raman: BALA!
Bala: Raman, I am just trying to make a point that....
Raman: NO BALA! ADI PE ISKE LIYE TOH UNGLI BILKUL MAT UTHANA. I KNOW WOH BHATAK GAYA THA LEKIN AAJ JIS ANJAM PE JA KE USKI ZINDAGI KHATAM HUI HAI USME SIRF AUR SIRF IS AURAT KA HAATH HAI. Aur Adi ke chita to aag dete samay maine use aur apne aap se bhi yeh wada kiya tha ki jis aurat ke wajah se yeh sab hua hai, uski mere, mere parivaar ke aur mere ghar mein koi jagah nahi hai. Isliye aaj ke baad yeh aurat mere liye exist hi nahi karti hai. Iska hona, na hone mere liye kuch matter nahi karta. YOU KILLED MY SON ISHITA AND NOW YOU ARE DEAD TO ME. DO YOU GET THAT. CHALI JAO, YAHAN SE. HUM SAB KI LIFE SE HAMESHA KE LIYE CHALI JAO! NO BALA! DON'T PUT THE BLAME ON ADI FOR THIS. I KNOW HE HAD LOST HIS WAY BUT HE IS NOT TO BE BLAMED FOR HOW HIS LIFE ENDED. ONLY THIS WOMAN IS TO BLAME FOR THAT. And as I was giving fire to Adi's funeral pyre I swore on him and swore to myself too that me and my family will have nothing to do with the woman who caused all of this. In fact she no longer has a place in our lives or this house. That is why from this moment this woman no longer exists for me. Her presence or absence means nothing to me anymore. YOU KILLED MY SON ISHITA AND NOW YOU ARE DEAD TO ME. DO YOU GET THAT.NOW GET OUT OF HERE! GET OUT OF OUR LIVES.
Ishita looks at Raman with shock. She knew this was coming, for she remembered how he reacted when they thought Ruhi was dead, and she had tried to prepare herself to face his wrath but nothing could have prepared her for how she would actually feel, hearing these words spoken about her from his mouth. Bala steps over and wraps a protective arm around Ishita.
Bala: Raman... yeh tum theek nahi kar rahe ho... Raman... what you are doing is not right...
Raman: Bala please... I know you are family lekin yeh mere ghar ka mamla hai... isliye don't interfere. Bala please...I know you are family. But this matter is for me to handle, so don't interfere.
Bala looks down at Ishita and then again at Raman and he thinks perhaps it will be better if Ishita does not stay in the Bhalla house, that way she will not have to put up with everyone disrespecting her every time she is in front of them.
Bala: Theek hai Raman. Ishu apne ghar mein, hamare saath... Fine Raman. Ishu will stay with us in her home...
Vishwa: Ek minute Bala... mere ghar mein bhi Ishita ke liye koi jagah nahi hai. One minute Bala... There is no place in my house for Ishita!
Bala (shocked): Appa!
Madhavi: Vishwa is right. Yeh hamare ghar mein nahi reh sakti. In fact main Raman ka support karti hun. Isne jo kiya woh galat tha. Iske wajah se hamara Adi chala gaya. Woh yeh deserve nahi karta tha. And police jo bhi kahe, mere liye galti iski hai. Aur aaj se yeh hamari Beti nahi hai. Humara bhi isse koi rishta nahi hai. Vishwa is right. She cannot stay in our house. In fact I am with Raman. What she has done is wrong. Because of her we lost our Adi. He did not deserve this. And no matter what the police says, for me she is wrong. And from this moment she is no longer our daughter. She is nobody to us.
Ishika holds Bala for support, as she feels her feet are about to give away. Bala looks down at Ishita aghast.
Vishwa: Isne hamare Adi ko mara hai. Ab iska humse koi rishta nahi. Adi ki maut ko toh humne jaise taise bardasht kar liya, lekin roz iska chehra dekh kar us manhuz ghadi ko yaad karna hum mein se koi bardasht nahi kar payega. Adi ko khone ka dard abhi hi bardasht karna itna mushkil ho raha hai pata nahi aage ki zindagi kaise kategi gi. Aaj dono gharon ne apna jawan beta, apna ladla beta khoya hai... She killed our Adi. She is no longer related to us. We have somehow manged to bear Adi's death but seeing her fact everyday will remind us of the unfortunate moment when we lost him and none of us will be able to bear that. It is already so hard for us all to bear the pain of Adi's death who knows how we will live with it for the rest of our lives. Today both our houses have lost our young and beloved son...
Raman is overwhelmed seeing Vishwa and Madhavi take his side. He goes and hugs them both.
Raman: Aap log kahin mere dabav mein aake yeh faisla toh nahi kar rahe. I mean aapka aur iska alag rishta hai. Aap chahe toh Ishita se rishta rakh sakte hain. Main phir bhi aap dono ka beta hone ka har farz nibhaunga. I hope you both are not saying this due to some pressure from me. I mean your relationship is different. You can keep relations with Ishita if you want, I will still be your son and fulfil all my responsibilities towards you both.
Vishwa: Nahi Raman. Jo galat hai woh galat hai and jisne galti ki hai usko saza toh milegi. Kanoon bhale use saza ke layak nahi samjhe lekin hamari nazroon mein woh gunehgar hai. No Raman. Wrong is wrong and the one who has done wrong must be punished. The law might have not punished her but for us she is wrong.
Bala: Aap log sab ko ho kya gaya hai? Ishu ki ek galti ke samne aap pichla sab bhul gaye. Raman, Ruhi aur tumhari tooti hui door ko Ishita ne joda tha. Adi ko pehli baar is ghar mein wapas lane wali bhi Ishu hi thi. Raman tum patthar the, tumhare dil ko phir se dhadakna Ishu ne sikhaya. Adi aur Ruhi ko jalti hui building se bachaya hai isne. Are sabko bachane ke liye, Ishu ne apna baccha tak kho diya aur... Pihu... Pihu ko bachane ke liye, Ishu ne Ananya ka ilzaam apne sar pe le liya aur umar bhar ke liye jail jane tak to tayar ho gai thi... What is wrong with all of you? In light of one mistake, you have forgotten everything else. Raman, Ishita fixed your broken relationship with Ruhi. Ishita was the one who brought Adi back home for the first time. Raman you were heartless, Ishita reminded you how to feel your emotions again. She has saved Adi and Ruhi from a burning building. In fact to save everyone, Ishita miscarried her own baby... Pihu... to save Pihu, Ishu took the blame of Ananya's death and was ready to rot in jail for the rest of her life.
Bhalla Ji: Hum kuch nahi bhule hain Bala. Lekin kabhi kabhi ek badi galti pichle hazaar achaiyon pe bhari pad jati hai. Har galti ki maafi nahi hoti aur yahan jo hua hai woh koi anjane mein ki gai galti nahi hai. Jo kuch kiya, Ishita ne soch samajh ke kiya. Toh ab uska anjaam bhi toh bhugatna hoga. We have not forgotten anything Bala. But somethime one mistake is bigger than the thousand things you've done right before that. Not every mistake can be forgiven and what has happened here is not an accidental mistake. Ishita was fully aware of what she did and now she will have to face the consequences.
Bala is about to speak when Ishita puts her hand on his shoulder to silence him.
Ishita (barely speaking in a whisper): Rehne do Jiju. Mujhe jane do please... Let it be Jiju. Let me go please...
Bala: Ishu tum kahan... But Ishu where.
Ishita: Don't worry. Main dekh lungi. I will manage.
Ishita takes one last look at her family, all she sees in everyone's eyes is hate and disgust for her. She closes her eyes and Adi's smiling face comes to her mind. She thinks back to the last time she hugged him, the last time she affectionately kissed his forehead. She remembers meeting Pihu in the juvenile home. She looks back at the last few days and how Ruhi has been taking care of her and then her mind goes to Aliya and the tender moment they both shared a few hours ago at the crematorium. The memories of those moments, gives her the strength she needs. When she opens her eyes, there is a look of determination in it. Determination that she will survive and she will walk the path that lies ahead of her alone and along with determination there is also a slight ray of hope that one day, one day her family will understand and hopefully that day will come before too many bridges are burnt and before it is too late.
Ishita turns away hesitantly when suddenly someone calls her from behind. She stops and turns. Ruhi comes running towards her, Ishita wraps her arms around her protectively. Ruhi sobs and speaks while crying.
Ruhi: Ishimaa.... aap... kahin nahi jaoge... I don't care sab... kya kehte hain... I know... aap galat nahi kar sakte... and sab jhoot bol rahe hain... sabko aapki zarrorat hai... mujhe aapki sabse zada zaroorat hai... pehle meri choti behen chali gai... ab Adi Bhaiya... main strong nahi hun... I can't deal... mujhe meri maa chaiye... Ishimaa aap... aap... mere sath... mere room mein rehna... kisi aur ke samne mat jana.... kisi aur se... kisi se bhi... baat mat karna... lekin aap mat jao... please na Ishimaa... Ishimaa... you.. won't go anywhere... I don't care what everyone else thinks... I know... you cannot do anything wrong... and everyone is lying... everyone needs you... I need you the most... first my little sister had to go...now Adi Bhaiya... I am not that strong... I can't deal... I need my mother...Ishimaa...you...stay with me... in my roon...don't come in front of anyone else...don't talk to anybody else...but please don't go...please Ishimaa...
Ruhi holds Ishita and the rest of what she wants to say is drowned in her sobs. Suddenly Ruhi moves back as if a force is pulling her away. Ishita notices, Raman has grabbed hold of her hand and pulled her away from Ishita. In his hatred for Ishita, he did not even realise how hardly he grabbed hold of Ruhi and that his firm grip is hurting her.
Ishita (angrily): RAMAN! USSE LAG RAHI HAI! LET HER GO! YOU ARE HURTING HER!
Raman is momentarily taken aback hearing the aggression in Ishita's voice. He looks down at where he is holding Ruhi's arm and immediately lets go.
Raman (angrily) to Ruhi: Meri baat suno and samjho taaki dobara tumhare aur yahan khade sabhi logon ke man mein koi confusion na reh jaye. TUMHARI MAA YAHAN HAI- SHAUGUN. Tumhe jo support chahiye uske liye woh hai tumhare saath. Aur main bhi yahin hoon. We are your parents. You are our child. Iske alawa aur koi matter nahi karta. Listen to me and understand what I am saying for once and for all so that there is no confusion in your mind or everyone else's present here. SHAGUN IS YOUR MOTHER AND SHE IS RIGHT HERE. She is there to support you and so am I. We are your parents. You are our child. No one else matters.
Raman now looks at Ishita while still talking to Ruhi.
Raman: Iski ab is ghar mein aur hum sab ki life mein koi jagah nahi hai! Samjhi tum! There is no place for her in our house or life. Do you understand!
Suddenly someone starts clapping from behind Ishita. She turns around to see Simmi and Param standing there. In all the heated confrontation and accusations no one realised when they both came up the elevator and since when they have been silently witnessing everything.
Toshi: Tu... tu yahan kya kar rahi hai! Humne tujhse kaha na... You... what are you doing here? We had told you...
Simmi: Mujhe acchi tarah se yaad hai aapne mujhse kya kaha tha. Waise bhi main aapse nahi, main yahan Raman Bhai se baat karne aai hoon. I very well remember what you had told me. As it is I have not come to talk to you. I have come to talk to Raman Bhai.
Raman: Kya bolna hai tumjhe Simmi? Jaldi bol aur yahan se nikal... Say what you have to say and leave Simmi...
Simmi: Bhai aap mujhse aise kyun baat kar rahe ho jaise ki aap abhi bhi mujhse naraaz ho! Bhai why are you talking to me as if you are still mad at me?
Raman: Tu kehna kya chahti hai? Of course main tujhse naraaz hoon! Infact naraaz toh bahut chota word hai... What do you mean? Of course I am mad at you. In fact being mad is a very small word for this...
Simmi: Lekin jab aapne aur maine ek hi cheez ki hai toh sab mujhse naraaz aur aapse sehmat kaise hai? Yeh toh partiality ho gai. But now that you and I have done the same thing how can everybody be mad at me but agree with you?
Raman: Simmi come to the point...
Simmi: Pihu ne Ananya ko mara. Use jab maine uski galti ki saza dilwaai toh aap sab ne mujhe muzrim bana ke ghar se nikal diya. Aaj Adi ke saath bhi toh wahi hua hai. Is Ishita ne Adi ko mara. Kanoon usko saza nahi de rahi toh aap sab ne usse rishta tod ke, use is ghar se nikal ke use saza di. Galti toh dono Maa-Beti ki ek hi hai aur us galti ka anjaam bhi ek sa hi hai. Maine apni beti kho di aur bhai ne apna beta. Phir Adi ke liye abhi Bhai khade ho rahe hai toh sab unka saath de rahe hain, lekin jab main Ananya ke liye khadi hui toh kisi ne mera saath kyun nahi diya? Pihu killed Ananya. You all blamed me because I got her punished for her mistake and asked me to leave the house. Today the same thing has happened with Adi. This Ishita killed Adi. The law isn't punishing her so you all are punishing her by breaking all relations and throwing her out of the house. Both mother and daughter have committed the same crime and the result of that is also the same. I lost my daughter and you have lost your son. When Bhai is taking a stand for Adi then you all are supporting him but when I took the same stand for Ananya then why did you all not support me?
Raman: Simmi, Pihu se jo hua, wo sach mein ek accident tha. Uska Ananya ko chot pahuchane tak ka irada nahi tha, uski jaan lena toh bahut door ki baat hai. Lekin Ishita... Ishita ko pata tha ki Adi pe goli chalne se uski jaan ja sakti hai. Sab jante hue, samajhte hue usne ek faisla liya. Usne Adi ko nahi Roshni ko chuna aur Roshni to bachane ke liye Adi pe goli chalai. Anjaane mein hui galti aur jaan kar liye gaye faisle mein zameen asmaan ka farak hota hai. Upar se Pihu ko toh umar ka tajurba bhi nahi hai jo Ishita ke pass hai.... And tu mane ya na mane, juvenile home jane se pehle bhi Pihu ne apni is galti ki bahut saza jheli hai. Itne saloon humse door rahi. Tune Ishita se apni naraazgi dikhane ke liye, Pihu ko kitni takleef pahuchai hai sab janta hoon main. Uska apna mental trauma: usse woh abhi tak bhi nahi nikli hai. Aaj bhi use councilling ki zaroorat hai. Pihu ko toh jis moment se woh hadsa hua us moment es apni galti ka ehsaas hai. Lekin isse apne galti ka koi ehsaas nahi hai. Ek baar isne nahi kaha ki haan meri galti hai. Isse abhi bhi lagta hai jo isne kiya isne sahi kiya. Simmi what Pihu did was an accident. She did not even have the intention to hurt Ananya, forget killing her. But Ishita...Ishita knew that if she shoots Adi he could die. Knowing everything she took her decision. She chose Roshni over Adi and shot Adi to save Roshni. There is a huge difference between an accidental mistake and a well thought out decision. To top it Pihu lacks the experience of life which Ishita has...and whether you believe it or not, Pihu has suffered enough punishment for what she did even before she went to juvenile home. She stayed away from us for years. I know how much you tortured Pihu, to take revenge on Ishita. Till date she has not come out of her mental trauma. She needs councilling even now. Pihu has regretted her actions from the moment everything happened. But she on the other hand has no regrets for her actions. Not once did she accept that she made a mistake. She still thinks what she did was right.
Simmi: Bhai... mujhe laga tha aap samjhoge... jab aulaad be waqt bina wajah ke hamesha ke liye apne maa-baap se door chala jata hai toh yeh sab kuch matter nahi karta. Agar kuch matter karta hai toh woh yeh, ki us masoom jaan ko nyay mile. Aaj jo aap kar rahe ho. Maine bhi toh wahin kiya hai. Bhai main toh yahan aai thi ki ab aap mere jazbatton ko sanjhoge... Bhai I had hoped you would understand. None of this matters when you lose a child before time for no fault of their own. All that matters is to get justice for the innocent child. You are doing exactly what I have done. Bhai I had come thinking you would understand where I am coming from...
Raman: Simmi, jis din se Ananya gai hai us din se hum sab ne tere jazbatoon ko aur tere dard ko samjha hai. Tujhe uske baad se kitna sahara diya... lekin Pihu ke saath jo hua hai woh galat hai. Main tujhe kabhi maaf nahi karunga. Simmi we all have been nothing but understanding since the day Ananya died. We all supported you but what you did with Pihu is wrong and for that I will never forgive you.
Toshi: Raman sahi keh raha hai Simmi. Tujhe maafi kabhi nahi milegi. Tune bhi... Raman is right Simmi. We will not fogive you. You too...
Param: Dekha Simmo. Maine tujhse kaha tha. Yeh log nahi sudhrenge. Aaj tu sahi sabit ho gai phir bhi yeh apni galti nahi manegnge. Tujhe is parivaar mein wapas nahi aane denge. I had told you Simmo. These people will never change. Today you have been proven to be right but they will still not accept their mistake. They won't welcome you back in the family.
Simmi: Mujhe bhi shauk nahi hai Param Ji aise parivaar se koi bhi attachment rakhne ka jo meri beti ko khone ke dard ko samajh na sake. Lekin haan jaise maine apni beti ko nyay dilane ke liye ladai ki aur us ladai mein jeeti, waise hi main aaj bhi apne haq ke liye larungi aur jeetungi. Param Ji, even I am not interested in being part of a family who can't understand my pain of losing my daughter. But yes, just like I have fought and won the battle of getting justice for my daughter, I will not fight the battle to get my own rights.
Bhalla Ji: Kis haq ki baat kar rahi hai tu. Tera yahan kisi pe koi haq nahi hai. Hum mein se koi tujhe... What rights are you talking about? You have no right on us. None of us want you...
Simmi: Main aap logon ki nahi, main is ghar aur business pe apne haq ki baat kar rahi hoon. I am not talking about you people. I am talking about my right on this house and the business.
Toshi: Simmi tujhe is ghar se ek phuti kaudi nahi milegi. Simmi you will get nothing from this house.
Simmi: Mumma jo mera haq hai woh mujhe milke rahega aur yeh mera nahi court ka faisla hai! Mumma I will get what is my right and this is not mine but the court's decision.
Raman: Court?!? Tu kya keh rahi hai Simmi. What are you saying Simmi?
Simmi smirks at Raman, she opens her purse, pulls out a piece of paper and hands it to Raman. Raman reads it in silence for a few moments, the frown on his face become more prominent with every sentence that he is reading. Once he finishes reading, he looks at Simmi in mild surprise. Simmi smirks at him, she knew no one would get over the fact that she sent Pihu to jail and she did not really care. All she wanted was to get the better of them and finally she has succeeded. She takes the paper from Raman, carefully puts it back in her purse, grabs hold of Param's hand and walks towards the Bhalla house. Toshi comes in front of the door to block their way in but much to her surprise Raman asks her to let them go in. Once they are in the house, Raman tells them that Simmi has filed a case in court claiming her right on their house and the business and the court has given orders that until the case isn't decided, they will stay in Bhalla house.
Bhalla Ji: Simmi is hud tak chali jayegi, sapne mein bhi nahi socha tha maine. I had never thought that Simmi could go to this extent.
Raman looks sideways at Ishita in anger and then speaks.
Raman: Papa aksar log kis hud tak ja sakte hain yeh samajhne mein humse galti ho jati hai. Khair bahut tamasha ho gaya. Chaliye sab andar. Papa we often make the mistake of underestimating the extent to which people can go. Anyway I have had it with this nonsense. Everyone lets go inside.
One by one eveyone goes back into Bhalla house, except Raman and Ruhi. Ruhi looks at Ishita, silently crying.
Raman: RUHI! Suna tumne maine kya kaha. GET INSIDE RIGHT NOW!
Ruhi: Papa... please...
Ishita: Ruhi, tum ghar jao. Ruhi go home.
Ruhi: Lekin Ishimaa... But Ishimaa...
Ishita: Ruhi... jao beta... please.... Ruhi... go beta... please...
Ruhi looks at Ishita, her eyes pleading, Ishita silently through her soft kind eyes tells her to go inside. Ruhi sighs helplessly, turns around, glares at Raman with hurt and anger for a few seconds before storming into the house. Once she is gone, Raman glares at Ishita before he too turns back. As soon as he turns back, he stops for from behind his back he heard the softest whisper.
Ishita (whispering): Raman....
Raman once again turns back to face Ishita. Her eyes are red from crying, tears are pouring out of her eyes, down to her cheeks. She stares at him in silence, her tearful eyes doing all the talking for her. Deep down she is hoping, that today too he will look past everything, into her eyes and see her truth, as he has seen so many times in the past.
However, Raman, consumed by his grief and pain stares at Ishita seeing nothing. All he can think of as he looks at her is how even though she is in front of him, he is still surrounded by loneliness. He feels empty for his dreams for himself and his family are now forever broken and something has broken within him, unleashing an ire he has never felt before. Gone are the happy days and he sees no purpose in life. As he glares at Ishita he thinks he is being punished for loving her and his punishment is to be surrounded by loneliness and to be filled with an anger that isn't in his control and is all consuming. He thinks that there was a time, when she was by his side, and with her there he had seen countless dreams of the life he would live with his wife and family. Now all those dreams lay in front of him, like broken shards of glass, piercing his sight. He thinks back at the life he had hoped for, and wonders in silent pain, what he has done to deserve this. What kind of joke has fate played on him. All he is left with is loneliness, the ire and the darkness and silence of a moonless night.
Raman feels like suddenly he is seeing Ishita in a different light. Or had she been like this all along only he was blinded by his love for her to see who she truly is. Although she shot Adi with a bullet, Raman feels like she has in reality stabbed him with a knife a thousand times over. Could he have seen this coming he wonders, were the signs there all along hinting towards the person she would turn out to become, the person who took his son away from him. Raman looks at her bloodshot eyes, they seem empty to him, just like her life will be too he thinks, for he shall never let his children near her. He will protect his family from her he resolves and with that final thought he thinks that their relationship that was has run its course. She and her existence is just a reminder of the pain he will endure for the rest of his life.
Raman: Aaj sirf Adi hi nahi... tum bhi mere liye mar gai ho. Shanti se pehli aur aakhri bar keh raha hoon, chali jao yahan se aur dobara mudke is ghar aur yahan rehne wale kisi bhi insaan ki taraf mat dekhna warna mujhse bura koi nahi hoga. Today not only Adi... you have dies for me too. I am saying this family for the last time: leave and don't look back at this house and family. If you do you will have hell to pay.
Ishita looks on, her expressions giving away nothing of what she is feeling, as Raman turns away, walks into the house, that was until this morning her home and slams the door shut behind him.
Raman's Bedroom:
Raman is at the door of his bedroom, and he can hear some noises from inside his room. Wondering who might be in, he silently pushes the door and is surprised to see his daughter rummaging through his wardrobe.
Raman: Ruhi.... beta yeh kya kar rahi ho? Beta what are you doing?
Ruhi turns around and glares at him with anger. Her eyes are still red and swollen from crying. She ignores his question and goes back to looking through his wardrobe. Raman comes in shutting the door behind him. He is finally able to get a full view of what is going on. Lying on the floor next to the wardrobe are two big suitcases.
Raman: Ruhi beta... main kahin nahi jane wala. Tum yeh kya pack kar rahi ho? Ruhi beta... I am not going anywhere. Why are you packing these suitcases?
Ruhi once again ignores Raman. Raman sits on the edge of the bed, watching with mild curiosity what his daughter is up to. Ruhi slowly starts filling the suitcase but not with Raman's belongings, she was emptying out Ishita's things from their wardrobe and slowly filling up both suitcases.
Raman: Ruhi, talk to me beta... yeh kya...
Ruhi (angrily): Aapne Ishimaa ko ghar se jane ko kehne se pehle mujhse kuch nahi pucha so ab hamare beech baat karne ko kuch raha hi nahi Papa. Aapko jo karna tha aapne kiya ab mujhe jo karna hai main karungi. Since You did not ask me once before you asked Ishimaa to leave this house there is nothing left to talk between us. You did what you had to do now I will do what I have to do.
Raman: Ruhi...
Ruhi (angrily): Papa, I know aapko pata hai main kya kar rahi hoon. Main Ishimaa ka sara saman unke liye pack kar rahi hoon. Papa, I know you know what I am doing. I am packing Ishimaa's stuff for her.
Raman: Iski koi zaroorat... There is no need....
Ruhi: Papa meri Maa ke liye kuch bhi karne ke liye mujhe kisi se puchne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Aap jab Dadi ke liye kuch karte ho toh pehle kisi se puchte ho kya? Maine aapke decision mein interfere nahi kiya toh aap bhi yahan intefere mat karo. Papa I don't need to ask anyone before doing something for my mother. Do you ask anyone before you do something for Dadi? I did not interfere in your decision so you also stay out of this.
Once Ruhi has sorted out all the clothes and other essentials, she feels she should pack for Ishita, she goes to the small safe in their bedroom, punches the numerical code and it beeps open. Raman is surprised.
Raman: Ruhi...yeh code..
Ruhi: Ishimaa ne mujhe bataya kyunki aap hamesha code bhul jate ho. Unhone kaha tha ki kabhi agar wo ghar pe nahi hui aur.... isliye mujhe aur Adi Bhiaya dono ko...anyway... Ishimaa had told me because you always forget the code. She used to say if she is not at home and... so the told me and Adi Bhaiya... anyway...
Raman had expected Ruhi to take out money or jewellery but once again his daughter continues to surprise him. She pulls out a brown folder, and Raman recognizes it immediately. It is Ishita's folder, containing all her documents, passport, IDs etc. She then locks the safe again. She then walks to the dresser and picks up Ishita's big tote purse. She puts the folder carefully inside it. Ruhi then goes and picks up Ishita's car keys and keeps it in the purse.
Raman: Ruhi... yeh...
Ruhi (very angry): Papa yeh car Ishimaa ko maine, Pihu, Aliya aur Adi Bhaiya ne gift kiya tha. Aapki di hui koi bhi cheez main Ishimaa ko nahi de rahi hoon. Papa, myself, Pihu, Aliya and Adi Bhaiya had given Ishimaa this car on her birthday. I am not given her anything that you gave her.
Ruhi then remembers something, and pulls out Ishita's wallet from the tote bag. She pulls out a card and carelessly tosses it towards the edge of the bed where Raman is sitting.
Ruhi: Waise toh main janti hoon ki agar main isse nahi bhi nikalti tabhi Ishimaa aaj ke baad ise kabhi use nahi karti. Lekin jis tarah aapne Ishimaa se aaj baat ki hai, I think aap toh bhul hi gaye ho woh kaun hai aur unhone hum sab ke liye kya nahi kiya. Isliye to avoid any further conflict, aap ise apne pass hi rakh lo. I know very well that even if I had not taken out this, Ishimaa would never use it anymore. But going by the way you behaved with Ishimaa today I think you have forgotten who she is and what all she has done for all of us. So to avoid any conflicts in the future it is better you keep this.
Raman looks down at the card, it is the add-on credit card Raman had given Ishita. Since she was always working and independent, she always used her own earnings for almost everything but Raman still insisted that she should have an add-on card. Over the years, Ishita used it sparingly, and when she did she never bought anything expensive. She would use it only to make him happy and perhaps on the rare occasion she used it during emergencies because Raman being Raman had set a very high credit limit for her on that card.
Ruhi picks up the tote bag and hangs it on her shoulder. She grabs the handles of both suitcases, looks at Raman sideways and Raman knows her eyes are silently pleading to him to stop her and to ask her to bring Ishita back home, but he stands firm and remains silent. Finally as she is walking out of the room he stops her.
Raman (sternly): Ruhi tum Ishita se nahi milogi. Maine sabke samne clearly kaha tha... Ruhi you won't meet Ishita. I made it very clear in front of everyone...
Ruhi (equally stern): Papa aapne kya kya kaha woh sab maine suna. Ab aap bhi meri ek baat sun lo, I am legally an adult. Mujhe kisi se bhi milne ke liye apne father ki consent ya permission nahi chahiye. Aap unhe is ghar se nikal sakte hai, hum sab se door rehne ko bhi keh sakte hain lekin unhe meri life mein kabhi replace nahi kar sakte. Maine aaj tak aapse koi baat nahi chupai hai, isliye abhi unka sara saman bhi aapke samne pack kiya aur aage bhi main jab jab unse milne jaungi aapko inform zaroor kar dungi. Papa I heard everything you said. Now it's my turn to speak. I am an adult. I do not need my father's consent or permission before meeting anyone. You can ask her to leave this house, keep distance from the family but you cannot replace her from my life. I have never hidden anything from you that is why I packed all her stuff in front of you and in the future too I will inform you when I go to meet her.
Raman (beliverred): Ruhi, Adi uski wajah se... aur tum phir bhi... Ruhi... because of her Adi... and you still...
Ruhi (trying hard not to cry): Adi Bhiaya ke sath jo hua woh unki galtiyon ke wajah se hua. I am sure unhone Ishimaa ko majboor kar diya hoga yeh kadam uthane ke liye, warna Ishimaa aisa kabhi nahi karti. Papa maine aapse us din bhi kaha tha aur aaj dobara keh rahi hoon, agar Roshni ke jagah main hoti aur agar Ishimaa ne aisa mujhe bachane ke liye kiya hota toh kya aap tabhi unke actions ko galat mante? Whatever happened with Adi Bhaiya is because of his own mistakes. I am sure he must have left Ishimaa with no choice, else Ishimaa would have never done this. Papa I tried to tell you the other day too and I am saying it one more time now. Had it been me instead of Roshni and Ishimaa had done this to save my life would you still consider her to be wrong?
Raman is stunned into silence and Ruhi leaves, letting him figure out things for himself.
Aliya's Bedroom:
Aliya walks into the bedroom while it's still dark. She softly shuts the door behind her and for a few moments she stands in the darkness and silence allowing her mind to finally process what has happened: Adi is dead! She will never see her husband again!
In the darkness, her hand automatically reaches for the light switch. As the light turns on she shuts her eyes reflectively. It's as if a film reel was waiting to play in her mind four hours, she recalls flashes of her relationship with Adi, numerous romantic moments, their wedding, their happy life as husband and wife flashes by. And then she remembers the last few weeks of her life, especially since she and Adi returned from London.
She opens her eyes and stares at everything in the room. Everything in the room is an ode to the life she built together with Adi. She remembers the ups and downs of their short life together. How they both would cry when the other was in pain. How they would try to be each other's strength when things got rough and how they both tried to take each other's pain and suffering. There was a time when his tears would flow out of her eyes and vice-versa.
But then that was all in the past, the Adi she had seen of late, the very same Adi whom Ishita had to shoot was very different than the one she thought she knew. This Adi did not know the pain she felt when he hurt her, he did not know the meaning of being loyal in love. He only knew how to create havoc in everyone's life. He had forgotten what it is like to be with others when they are in trouble. He had now become the reason, behind her crying herself to sleep every night. She thinks today Adi has won and she has lost for he will now be the reason her heart aches for the rest of her life. They were supposed to walk the path of life together, yet here she is all alone. They promised to live together until they died, peacefully in their old age, yet here she is alone and he died in such a way that she no longer felt she had any right over him to bid a final goodbye. He abandoned her first and then left her all alone.
She opens the wardrobe and starts pulling out all of Adi's clothes and belongings, tossing them into a pile on the floor. She then moves around the room, grabbing hold of picture frames and anything and everything that reminds her of him and adding them to the slowly growing pile on the floor. Once she is satisfied, she lifts the pile of now discarded things and walks out of her room.
A.K. Apartments Garden:
Ishita is sitting on her favourite bench in their apartment gardens. This bench was her favourite because it is right below the Bhalla house, she would often like to come and sit there to breathe in the fresh air and what made it even more special was that if anytime anyone needed her back in the house, all they had to do was come out of the balcony and call out for her and she would hear them.
Today however, she knows as she sits here no one is going to come for her or call out her name from the balcony. Her surroundings are peaceful, there is a soft breeze blowing, the birds are chirping away occasionally, but within her she is feeling very restless. Many thoughts are going through her mind and she ignores everything surrounding her as her mind is lost in deep contemplation.
Her thoughts are suddenly interrupted as she feels a tender touch on her shoulder. It's a touch she recognizes very well and she does not need to turn around to know who it is.
Ishita: Ruhi.... tum yahan...
Ruhi steps in front of Ishita, leaving the suitcase behind and sits on the bench next to her.
Ruhi: Mujhe pata tha aap yahin baithe hoge. Main aapke liye kuch lai hoon. I knew you would be sitting here. I have brought something for you.
Ishita: Kya?
Ruhi silently gestures for her to turn around and look behind her. Ishita turns a bit and sees two suitcases and her big tote purse filled to the brim with things. She turns back and looks at Ruhi confused.
Ruhi: Suitcase mein aapke kapde aur baki sara zaroori samaan hai. Kuch din tak ab aap acche se sab manage kar paoge. Aapke is bag mein aapke sare ids aur documents hai, aapke BP ka medicine, aaka wallet, car keys, mobile.... Suitcase has your clothes and other things you will need. You should be able to manage for a few days. This bad has your IDs and documents, BP medicine, wallet, car keys, mobile...
Ishita: Yeh sab... tumne khud kiya... ya Raman ne tumse kaha... Did you do all this on your own or did Raman ask you?
Ruhi looks at Ishita, she can see a tiny ray of hope in her eyes as she is asking Ruhi this question. A part of Ruhi wants to lie to Ishita and tell her that Raman told her to do this, just to make her happy for a few seconds, but then she decides she cannot do that right now as it will only make Ishita weak and she needs to be strong for while the whole family is together in these tough times, but she is all alone.
Ruhi: Nahi Ishimaa, maine khud yeh sab kiya. But haan jo kiya Papa ke samne liya. No Ishimaa I did all this on my own but in front of Papa.
Ishita: Unhone tujhe roka nahi? And he did not stop you?
Ruhi: Jab woh meri nahi sunte toh main unki kyun sunu. Waise Ishimaa aap bhi meri kahan sun rahe ho. Maine aapse phir keh rahi hoon, baki sab bhad mein jaye. Aap mere sath mere room mein raho. Since he does not listen to me, so why should I listen to him? I am saying this once again, to hell with everything. Stay with me in my room.
Ishita: Ruhi... yeh possible nahi hai.
Ruhi: Kyun nahi Ishimaa? Budapest se jab hum sab wapas aaye the tabhi sab aapko Ananya ke liye blame karte the. Tab toh aap peeche nahi hati. Baar baar ghar aati thi. Papa toh aapse phir se shaadi karne ke baad aapko accept bhi nahi kar rehe the beginning mein, phir bhi aap ghar wapas aai. Abhi bhi toh same situation hai, bus difference yeh hai ki tab Ananya thi ab Adi Bhaiya... phir aap kyun nahi... Why not Ishimaa? When we all came back from Budapest, everyone still blamed you for Ananya. That time you did not back off. You'd always come home. When Papa married you he was not accepting you at first, you still came home. Even today the situation is the same... only difference is back then it was Ananya now it is Adi bhaiya... then wny aren't you///
Ishita: Tab baat alag thi Ruhi. Tab mujhe aana pada kyunki Raman ko khatra tha aur mujhe unke pass reh ke unhe protect karna tha. In fact unhe hi kyun, apne bachoon ko bhi. Aur abhi... abhi Raman se aur sab se door reh ke hi main sabko protect kar sakti hoon. That was different Ruhi. Then I had to come because Raman was in danger and I had to be with him to protect him. In fact not just him, even my kids. But now... I can only protect Raman by staying away...
Ruhi: Ishimaa aap kya bol rahi hain. Aur aapne kuch socha hai aap jayengi kahan? Ishimaa what are you saying. Have you thought where you will go?
Ishita: Tum meri chinta mat karo Ruhi. I will manage something. Tumne yeh sara samaan la ke mera kaam aur bhi asaan kar diya. Don't worry about me Ruhi. I will manage something. You have helped me a lot by bringing my things.
Ruhi: Main aapki chinta kaise nahi karu Ishimaa? Bina kisi galti ke aapko... How can I not worry about you? Without any mistake you....
Ishita: Meri samajh mein nahi aata tum aur Aliya kis mitti ke bane ho... bus tum dono ho jo mujhe galat nahi samajhte... Aliya bhi aaj yahin keh rahi thi ki meri koi... I don't understand what you and Aliya are made of... only you both did not misunderstand me...Aliya was also saying today...
Ruhi: Aap Aliya se kab mile? When did you meet Aliya?
Ishita: Crematorium...
Ruhi: Aap aye the wahan? Phir aap Adi Bhaiya ko last time dekhne kyun nahi ayi? Maine sabko rokne ki... You were there? Then why did you not come to see Adi Bhiaya for the last time? I tried to stop,,,
Ishita: Ruhi main tum sab se pehle wahan aa gai thi. Jab ambulance waha pahucha toh bus main hi thi. Ruhi I reached before you all. I was the only one there when the ambulance reached
Ruhi and Ishita hug, both crying silently.
Ruhi: Thank God. Matlab aapne Adi Bhiaya ko last time dekh liya.... Means you saw Adi Bhiaya for the last time.
Ishita: Haan maine Adi ko sabse last mein dekha... Yes I was the last one to see Adi...
Ruhi: Ishimaa, aap hamare sath ghar pe hoti toh shayad waqt ke saath sab theek ho bhi jata. Lekin mujhe to bus sab bikharta hua dikh raha hai. Ishimaa if you would have been at home with us maybe things would have gotten better with time. But I see things just getting worse.
Ishita: Aisa kuch nahi hoga Ruhi. Tum ho na meri brave beti. Tum sabko sambhalogi aur haan abhi mujhe bhi kabhi kabhi feel hota hai ki sab bikhar jayega lekin main aisa hone nahi dungi. Bus thoda time chahiye... cheezon ko sambhalne ke liye... Nothing like that will happen Ruhi. You are my brave daughter. You will take care of everyone. And yes sometimes I also feel everything is getting messed up but I will not let that happen. We all just need some time for things to go back to normal.
Their talks are suddenly interrupted, as things start falling from the sky. Surprised, Ishita and Ruhi look up and see Aliya standing at the balcony, throwing things down. Ishita sees a shirt and recognizes it immediately.
Ishita: Yeh toh Adi ka... That is Adi's
Ruhi: Kya?!? Yeh ho kya raha hai?!? What? What is going on?
Ishita: Ruhi tum upar jao aur Aliya ko sambhalo. Jaldi! Ruhi go up and take care of Aliya.
Ruhi nods and runs back towards the house, Ishita watches Aliya silently as she is throwing things away.
Bhalla House:
Bhalla Ji, Toshi, Neelu, Mani, Shagun, Vishwa, Madhavi, Mihika and Romi are all standing in shock watching Aliya throw things out of the balcony. They are all trying to appeal to her senses in loud desperate voices.
Toshi: Aliya Puttar yeh kya kar rahi hai? Aliya what are you doing?
Shagun: Aliya beta please sambhalo apne aap ko... Aliya please get a hold on yourself.
Just as Ruhi enters the house, slightly out of breath, Raman too is coming downstairs, wondering what all the commotion is about.
Raman: Aap log chilla kyun rahe ho? Kya hua? What are you all shouting? What happened?
Toshi: Raman dekh na puttar. Aliya... Raman look at Aliya...
Raman looks at Aliya at the balcony.
Raman: Yeh kya phek... What is she throwing...
Madhavi: Raman yeh sab Adi ka samaan hai... Raman it's all of Adi's things...
Mihika: Main ja ke usse rokti hoon. I'll go stop her...
Raman: Nahi Mihika. Chod do. Usse jo karna hai karne do. No Mihika. Don't. Let her do what she wants.
Toshi: Raman tu yeh kya keh raha hai! Yeh hamare Adi ka saman aise kaise... Raman what are you saying! That's Adi's...
Raman: Mummy Ji Adi toh waise bhi hum sab se bahut dur ja chuka hai...hum aage chal ke uska sara saman waise bhi daan kar dete. Mummy Adi is gone... as it is we would have eventually donated all his things...
Toshi: Haan Puttar, lekin daan karna aur aise phekna do alag alg cheez hai. Yes Puttar, but donating and throwing his things are two very different...
Raman: Mummy Ji, Aliya ne abhi tak ek aasu nahi roya hai. Apna dard kisi ke sath share nahi kiya hai. Yeh sab kar ke uska dard bahar nikal raha hai. Karne do use. Uske liye zarrori hai. Waise bhi main acchi tarah se samajh sakta hoon usne aisa kyun kiya. Yeh sab cheezein apne kamre mein dekh ke use Adi yaad aa raha hoga aur pichle kuch time me usne Aliya ko bahut hurt kiya tha. Aliya ne ab tak apni sari takleef daba ke rakhi hai. Ab nikal raha hai toh nikalne do. Mummy Ji, Aliya has not shed a single tear till now. She has not shared her pain with anyone. By doing this her pain is coming out. Let her do it. It's important for her. I can understand very well why she is doing this. She must have been reminded of Adi seeing all these things in her room and Adi has really hurt Aliya over the last few months. Aliya has not shared her pain with anyone till now. Now it is coming out so don't stop her.
Mihika: Jiju... but aisa karna theek nahi hai. Jiju but this is not right...
Romi: Bhai theek keh rahe hai Mihika. Sabka dard express karne ka alag tareeka hota hai. Bhai is right Mihika. Everyone has their own way of expressing their pain.
Mani: I agree with Raman, Aliya ko yahan ke har cheez mein Adi yaad ayega. Ab woh apne kamre se toh yadoon ko nikal ke phek sakti hai lekin pure ghar se toh nahi. Isliye mujhe lagta hai ki Aliya ko ab se Shagun aur mere sath hamare ghar pe rehna chahiye. Aliya will be reminded of Adi seeing everything here. She can throw out things from her room that remind her of Adi but not from the whole house. I think it will be better if Aliya lives with Shagun and me now.
Raman: Nahi Mani. Aliya yahin rahegi. Adi nahi raha toh kya hua. Aliya ko toh maine waise bhi kab se apni beti man liya tha. Woh aaj se is ghar mein meri beti banke rahegi. No Mani. Aliya will stay here. So what if Adi is no longer alive. I had accepted Aliya as my daughter long time ago and from today she will stay in this house as my daughter.
Mani: Nahi Raman. Ab is ghar mein...
Raman: Mani please. Bekaar ke discussion aur argument mein kyun jana. Aliya yahin rahegi. Woh office continue rakhegi. Uski life hum sab mil ke sawarenge. Pehle ke tarah woh tumhare yahan bhi aati jati rahegi. Mani please. Why get into unnecessary discussions and arguments. Aliya will stay here. She will continue working. We all will shape her life. And of course she will keep visiting you like she always has.
Aliya is done throwing everything out of the house. She turns around and gets worried thinking what they might say to her. Her eyes wander to everyone and then stop at Raman. She slowly comes back inside the house.
Aliya: Papa... woh sorry...
Raman quietly takes a step towards her and hugs her.
Raman: Aliya sorry kis liye? Main acchi tarah se samajhta hoon tumne jo kiya kyun kiya. Kuch bolne ki zaroorat nahi hai. In fact I know tumhe tumhara kamra bhi.... ek kaam karo beta, kuch din Ruhi ke room mein shift ho jao. Aliya what are you saying sorry for? I know why you did this. No need to explain anything. In fact I know your room... do one thing beta... shift into Ruhi's room for a few days...
Ruhi: Haan Aliya. Hum dono toh waise bhi aadhe se zada time ek dusre ke rooms mein hi pade rehte hain. Ya Aliya, we both are anyway in each other's room most of the time.
Aliya looks at Ruhi, hugs her and cries a little. Everyone gathers around to comfort her. They then walk with her together to Ruhi's bedroom only Toshi and Raman stay behind.
Toshi: Raman, Aliya ne yeh theek nahi kiya. Raman, what Aliya did was wrong.
Raman: Usne kuch galat nahi kiya hai Mummy. Uska dard aise hi niklega. She did not do anything wrong mummy. This is how her pain will come out.
Toshi: Lekin yeh toh Adi ki yaadon ka insult karna hua. But this is insulting Adi's memories.
Raman: Mummy kisi ko yaad rakhne ke liye uska samaan pass mein hona zaroori nahi hai. Yeh sab kar ke bus uska thoda dard kum ho raha hai, Adi ki jo uske dil mein jagah thi hamesha wahin rahegi. Bus ab farak itna hoga ki pehle Adi ke bare mein sochti thi ko dil mein pyaar aata tha ab jab uske bare mein sochegi toh bus dard aur akelepan ka ehsaas hoga. Mummy it is not important to have someone's belongings with you to remember them. By doing this some of her pain is coming out but that does not mean Adi's place in her life has changed or will ever change. The only difference is that before when she would think of Adi she would think with love and now when she thinks of Adi she will feel pain and loneliness.
Toshi looks at Raman with a strange look on her face, for she knows her son and understands that his words might have been for Aliya but they apply to him too.
Ruhi's Bedroom:
Everyone accompanied Aliya and Ruhi to the bedroom but as soon as everyone comes in Aliya wanting to be left alone, excuses herself and goes to the washroom. Ruhi looks at her and seems to understand what Aliya wants so she urges everyone to go rest for a while promising that she will take care of Aliya. Mani and Shagun decide to go to talk to Raman once again about Aliya. Romi heads to the room while Mihika tells Toshi they should go make arrangements for everyone to eat something. Madhavi and Vishwa also leave to go freshen up and prmise to come back again. Aliya is surprised to see everyone except Ruhi gone.
Aliya: Sab kahan...
Ruhi: Maine unhe bhej diya. Aliya tum theek ho... I sent them. Aliya are you okay...
Aliya: I'm fine Ruhi. Lekin tum, tumhe itna paseena kyun... But why are you sweating?
Ruhi: Woh main neeche Ishimaa ke pass thi...tumhe aise cheezein phekte dekha toh main bhag ke jaldi se upar aai... I was downstairs with Ishimaa. I ran up when I saw you throwing things...
Aliya: Amma...
Ruhi: Haan unke pass aur kahin jane ke liye... unka kuch bhi saman unke pass nahi tha... phone, wallet... sab de ke aai hun unhe...anyway main thoda fresh ho leti hoon. Tum yahin aaram karo. Ya she has nowhere else to go...she did not even have any of her stuff... phone, waller...I have given her everything... anyway I should quickly freshen up. You rest here.
Ruhi goes to the washroom, Aliya sits on the bed. She had hoped throwing everything out would make her feel better, instead she is feeling more restless than before. She thinks back on how she felt better after talking to Ishita in the crematorium and quietly walks out of Ruhi's room.
A.K. Apartments Garden:
Ishita had been watching Aliya throw Adi's belongings silently from a corner, making sure that even if Aliya looks down she would not see her. Soon enough Aliya had thrown everything and gone back in. Ishita waited for a while to make sure she or anyone else is not coming out in the balcony again. Once she was certain, she hurriedly rushed to where all of Adi's things were scattered. She recognised everything that Aliya had thrown out. She slowly, taking her time sorted through all the things picking up a few things from here and there that are of sentimental value to her or things that she knows are Adi's favourite. Once she is satisfied she has picked up everything she wants, she goes back to the bench where she was sitting. She opens one of the suitcases that Ruhi had left for her and is relieved that Ruhi has not filled it to the brim. She moves things around making room for Adi's things and packs them to take with her. She was so caught up in picking up Adi's belongings and packing them that she did not notice, someone was standing and watching her the entire time. She eventually senses someone is watching her, turn around and looks a little taken aback seeing who it is.
Ishita: Tum...
Roshni: Ishimaa... kaisi hain aap? Ishimaa... how are you?
Ishita: I am fine Roshni. Tum kaisi ho? How are you?
Roshni looks at Ishita in silence, then sees the two big suitcases and her big purse.
Roshni: Aap kahin ja rahi hain? Are you going somewhere?
Ishita looks at Roshni. Roshni notices that Ishita is looking at her differently, usually there is a kindness, softness in her eyes, but that is missing. But then Roshni has heard the news so she knows why there is pain in those eyes.
Roshni: Ishimaa... mujhe pata chala... lekin yakeen nahi ho raha... kya yeh sab sach hai? Adi... sach mein... Ishimaa... I heard... I can't believe it...is it true? Adi...is really...
Ishita once again just looks at her and nods her head. Tears come in Roshni's eyes, she comes forward, hugs Ishita and cries. Ishita hesitates for a few seconds, then she embraces Roshni and consoles her, patting her back reassuringly as she cries her heart out on Ishita's shoulder. After a while Roshni calms down and pulls away.
Roshni: Aap kahan ja nahi rahi hai, aapko Raman Uncle ne ghar se jane ko kaha hai na? Ishimaa aap... aapne mere liye itna kuch kiya... main unse baat karti hoon. Where are you going, has Raman Uncle asked you to leave the house? Ishimaa... you have done so much for me. I will talk to him.
Ishita: Nahi Roshni. Tumhe kisi se kuch kehne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Aur please ghabrao mat, mujhe bharosa hai sab theek ho jayega. No Roshni. You don't need to say anything to anyone. And don't worry. I have faith that everything will be abright.
Roshni: Ishimaa mujhe aapse kuch kehna tha... Ishimaa I wanted to tell you something.
Ishita looks at Roshni, her dull eyes suddenly brighten a bit.
Ishita: Haan bolo Roshni kya baat hai? What is it Roshni?
Roshni: Actually mujhe aapse kuch puchna tha... Actually I wanted to ask you something
Ishita now looks confused.
Ishita: Haan Roshni.. pucho... What Roshni...
Roshni: Ishimaa... Adi... Adi ne kabhi aapko... ya ghar mein... kisi ko... hamare... matlab... uske... aur mere... I mean... ki woh din... raat... mujhse milne aata tha... yeh sab bataya tha... I mean... Ishimaa... Adi... Did Adi tell you... or anyone at home... about us... him... and me... I mean...that he would meet me all the time... be it day or night... did he mention...
Ishita looks at her even more confused.
Ishita: Nahi Roshni. Adi ne aisa toh kuch mujhse nahi kaha aur jahan tak mujhe pata hai usne kisi aur se bhi is bare mein kuch nahi kaha. Lekin tumhare liye woh kya sochta tha... yeh mujhe acchi tarah se samajh aa gaya hai...lekin tum kyun puch rahi ho... No Roshni... Adi never mentioned any thing to me and as far as I know he did not say anything to anyone at home either. But I have now understood what he thought of you...but why are you asking all this...
Roshni: Ishimaa... mujhe....
Roshni suddenly looks very nervous, she pauses to think for a few moments. Ishita notices that her hands are clasped together tightly as if she is trying not to shake.
Roshni: Ishimaa... aapko kuch batana tha. Ishimaa... I have to tell you something.
Ishita looks at her hopefully once again.
Ishita: Haan Roshni, bolo. Kya baat hai? Dekho tum itna ghabrao mat. Jo bhi baat hai mujhe saaf saaf batao. Tum kisi problem mein ho toh mujhse share kar sakti ho. Main tumhari help karne ki puri koshish karungi. Yes Roshni. What is the matter? Look don't worry. You can speak to me frankly. You can tell me if you are in any trouble. I will try my best to help you.
Roshni looks at Ishita again hesitant and uncertain, she then let's out a deep breath and steadies herself.
Roshni: Ishimaa.... I.... I.... I am pregnant.
Ishita looks at Roshni with shock and disbelief. She is completely taken aback as this is something she did not see coming.
Ishita (still in shock): What?!? Pregnant....
Roshni: Haan.... Ishimaa... kuch... kuch din se... meri tabyat.... theek nahi thi.... doctor.... doctor ne bataya...kyun.... Yes Ishimaa.... I was feeling unwell... the last few days... the doctor... doctor told me...
Ishita (shocked): Roshni! I don't believe this... aisi bhi kya jaldi thi? Shantanu aur tumhari shaadi hone hi wali thi... thoda ruk jate tum dono...ab toh usne shaadi se bhi mana kar diya.... aur yeh sab... ek second... woh US wapas chala toh nahi gaya? Humein use batana hoga and use apni responsibility leni hogi. What was the hurry? Shantanu and you were going to get married soon, you both could have waitied for a short while longer....now he has refused to marry you...now this... one sec... has he already gone back to US?
Roshni looks at Ishita uncertainty, and becomes very nervous.
Roshni: Ishimaa... woh.... yeh... yeh... baccha....ADI ka hai... Ishimaa... this...baby... ADI is the father...
Ishita looks at Roshni, completely stunned. For a second they both stay rooted at their spot, just staring at each other. Then Ishita's stunned expression changes to that of anger and she takes a hurried step towards Roshni, raises her hand and slaps her right across her face!
Ishita (furious): Roshni! Bolne se pehle ek baar soch toh liya karo! Jiske bare mein tum keh rahi ho... woh mera beta hai... meri parvarish aisi ho hi nahi sakti! Adi shaadi shuda hai! Aliya uski patni... aur tum uske bare mein aisi baatein kar rahi ho... chee! Sharam aani chahiye tumhe! Roshni! Think before you speak! You are talking about my son! I did not raise him like this! Adi is married! Aliya is his wife! And you are saying such things about him! Shame on you!
Roshni (sobbing): Ishimaa... I'm sorry... I'm very sorry. Aap chaho toh mujhe 4 thappad aur mar lo... lekin... lekin... sach wahi hai jo maine... aapse kaha... yeh Adi ka... lekin... I understand... aap .... aap meri chinta mat karo.... mai akele sab kar lungi... mere bacche ke liye... uski Maa hi kafi hogi...bus yeh news... sun ke.... do pal ke liye dar gai thi... ki kaise manage karungi.... isliye... kuch samajh... nahi aya... toh aapke pass aa gai.... lekin ab...main sab manage kar lungi... You can slap me 4 more times if you want... but... but...what I said is the truth... I told you the truth...this is Adi's.... but... I understand... you... you don't worry about me... I will manage everything alone... for my child... his mother will be more than enough... I just got a little scared... having heard the news... how will I manage... I could not think...so I came to see you...but now... I will manage everything...
Roshni wipes her tears, bends and touches Ishita's feet but Ishita does not raise her hand to bless her. She is still furious at Roshni and also in complete disbelief. Roshni stands up, looks at Ishita for the last time and turns to leave. As she is walking by Ishita's expression changes, she looks up in the sky and is thinking. Roshni is almost at the other end of the garden. Ishita looks back in her direction calls out her name. Roshni turns around and comes back to Ishita.
Ishita (firm but calm): Kahan ja rahi ho? Where are you going?
Roshni: Apne flat Ishimaa. Landlord ne mujhe ghar khali karne ko kaha hai. Bus apna saman pack karke.... aaj ke liye kisi hotel mein ruk lungi... kal kuch intazam karke, Delhi se chali jaungi... aapko meri wajah se ab aur pareshani nahi hogi... To my apartment. The landlord has asked me to vasate it. I will pack my stuff...spend the night in some hotel... tomorrow I will make aggangements and leave Delhi... I won't trouble you anymore...
Ishita (firm but calm): Theek hai. Ghar jao. Apna saman pack karo aur mera waha wait karna. Main ek ghante mein tumhe pick up karne aungi. Ok. Go home. Pack your things and wait for me. I will pick you up in one hour.
Roshni: Ishimaa... aapko yeh sab karne ki...You don't need to do this.
Ishita (firm but calm): Roshni please don't argue. Tum ab mere sath rahogi. Jao ab. Main thodi der mein aati hoon. You will stay with me. I will come in sometime.
Roshni: I am sorry Ishimaa....
Ishita just stares at her, her eyes and facial expression not giving away anything that is going on in her mind.
Roshni walks away. Once she is far enough, Ishita turns once again towards the bench but what she sees knocks her breath away! Aliya is standing a few feet away, crying silently.
Ishita (lovingly): Aliya... tum... tum kab aai... main... tum ro kyun rahi ho Aliya? Aliya... when... when did you come... I... why are you crying Aliya?
Ishita lovingly rushes towards Aliya however Aliya takes three quick steps backwards away from Ishita and then raises her hand to stop Ishita from coming towards her. Ishita stops, worried that Aliya had heard everything Roshni just told her. She then looks at Aliya's eyes, sees her pain and immediately knows that her worst fear has come true.
Aliya: Amma...aap wahin rahiye... sab ne... sab ne kaha... ki aapko Roshni ke aage kuch dikhai nahi deta... maine kisi ki nahi suni... apne aakhon dekhi pe bharosa kiya... mujhe laga aap sahi thi... mujhe abhi lagta hai ki us din jo aapne kiya sahi tha... lekin ab... ab jake mujhe realise hua... ki baki gharwale bhi aapke bare mein sahi the... aapko sach mein Roshni.... woh Roshni jiski wajah se Adi mar gaya... jiski wajah se meri khushiyan... hum sab ki khushiyan chali gai... jiski wajah se aaj aapko aapke apne ghar se jane ko kaha gaya... woh Roshni sach mein aapke liye sab se important ho gai hai... Amma... you stay there... everyone... everyone said... that all you care about is Roshni... I did not listen to anyone... I only believed what I saw.... I though you are right...I thought what you did that day was the right thing to do...but now...now I finally realised....that everyone else were right about you...it's only Roshni you...that Roshni because of whom Adi died... because of whom my happiness... all of our happiness is gine...because of whom you were asked to leave your own house....that Roshi has actually become the person you care most about...
Ishita (pleading desperately): Aliya... aisa kuch nahi hai... tum... mere bachoon se zada... mere liye koi kaise important ho sakta hai... Raman... tum bacche... meri zindagi ho... Aliya...that's not true... you...my children...nothing is more important for me... Raman... you children...
Aliya: Jhoot! Sab jhoot hai Amma! Agar aisa hota toh aap Roshni ko jane deti... chod deti apne haal pe... lekin aapne usse kaha ki aap use pick karne jayengi... ab... aapne aage ka kya socha hai Amma... Roshni ke sath ek ghar mein rehke... aap uske... uske aur Adi ke najayaz bacche ki bhi Ishimaa banengi kya?? Lie! You are lying Amma! Had that been true you would have let Roshni go...you would have let her fend for herself...but you told her you would go pick her up instead....what have you planned next Amma...you will stay with Roshni in one house...and you will become Ishimaa for her and Adi's illegitimate child?
Ishita: Nahi Aliya... main... main tumhe kaise samjhoon... main Roshni ko aise... kaise jane de sakti... aisa nahi....dekho...yeh jo kuch bhi ho raha hai....mera bhi dil yakeen nahi kar pa raha... Adi aisa nahi kar sakta... woh sirf tumse... No Aliya...I...how do I make you understand.... I could not let Roshni go .... Not like this... look whatever is happening... even my heart isn't able to believe it...Adi cannot do this...you are the only....
Aliya: Amma please! Adi kya kar sakta tha... kis hudd tak ja sakta tha... hum sab dekh chuke hai. Uske junoon ke chakkar mein woh zindagi se tak haath dho baitha! Lekin aaj... aaj main aapka ek naya roop dekh rahi hoon Amma! Aaj mujhe samajh aa gaya ki aap bhi kisi bhi hudd tak ja sakti hai... Roshni ke liye. Adi ke sath jo aapne kiya uske liye main aapse pehle bhi naraz nahi thi aur aage bhi nahi hungi. Lekin aaj jo aapne mere saath kiya hai... aapne Roshni ko chunke mujhe thukraya hai... iske baad hamare beech kuch kehne, sunne aur samajhne ko raha hi nahi Amma. Baki sab gharwalon ne aapse apna rishta tod diya aur abhi Roshni ko chun ke aapne khud mujhse apna rishta tod diya hai. Amma please! We all have seen what Adi can do and to which extent he can go. He has lost his life thanks to his obsession! Today...today I am seeing a new you Amma! Today I have understood you too can go to any extent... for Roshni. I was not angry at you for what you did to Adi before and that won't change. But today what you have done with me...you have disowned me by choosing Roshni...now there is nothing left to be said between us Amma. The rest of the family ended their relationship with you and by choosing Roshni you have now ended your relationship with me.
Ishita (crying): Aliya please...aisa mat bolo...
Aliya: Aapko ab yahan apna aur time waste nahi karna chahiye. Aapki Roshni apne ghar pe apna sara samaan pack kar ke intazaar kar rahi hogi. You should not waste your time here. Your Roshni is waiting for you with all her stuff. Go pick her up.
Before Ishita can say anything, Aliya turns away and runs back home, silently sobbing.
Ishita (self-musing): Murugan! Yeh kaisi dharam sankat mein la ke khada kar diya hai aapne? Pehle hi mere kum imtahaan liye the kya aapne jo ab yeh.... Murugan! What kind of dilemma have you put me in. Haven't you tested me enough already....
Ishita weeps in silence for a while, then she calms down, looks around and realises it is quite late in the night. She goes to her luggage, finds the car keys in her purse, transfers all the suitcases in the car, takes one final look at the building that is no longer her home, gets into the car and drives away.
Unknown Apartment:
Ishita and Roshni are standing in front of an apartment with suitcases in their hands. Ishita rings the bell and a man answers the door. Seeing Ishita he greets her and lets them in.
Ishita: Shyam Ji, yeh Roshni hai. Hum dono kuch dino ke liye yahan rahenge. Iska saman aap ek kamre mein rakh dijiye aur mera samne wale room mein. Shyam this is Roshni. We both will stay here for a few days. Please keep her luggage in that toom and mine in the maste bedroom
Shyam: Ji Madam. Aap pani piyengi? Yes Madam. Shall I get some water?
Ishita nods a no. Shyam takes their luggage and goes away.
Roshni: Amma yeh kiska ghar hai? Amma whose flat is this?
Ishita: Yeh Ashok ka flat hai. Jab hamare business associates lambe time ke liye aate hai toh wooh yahan rukte hai. Hum kuch dun yaha rahenge, jab tak main apne kisi flat ka intazaam nahi kar leti. Ashok's. It is for our business associates who come for a long time. We will stay here for a few days, until I don't find a flat for myself.
Roshni: Lekin Ishimaa... Ashok ne toh apni power of attorney aapke naam kar di thi. Phir aap toh yahan reh hi sakti hai permanently. Dusri jagah... But Ishimaa....Ashok has given you his power of attorney. So you can stay here permanently. Why look for another...
Ishita (sternly): Haan mujhe pata hai... lekin main uske bharose ka apne fayde ke liye kabhi galat istamaal nahi karungi. Itni selfish nahi hoon main. Duniya mein aise kai log hote hain lekin main unme se nahi hoon. Abhi urgent zaroorat thi aur koi aur jagah tha nai isliye yahain aana pada. Anyway tum ja ke fresh ho jao aur thoda araam karo. Main Shyam se keh ke tumhare kamre mein hi khana bhijwa deti hoon. I know...but I will not use the trust he has placed in me for my own personal benefit. I am not that selfish. There are many such people in the world but I am not one of them. Right now we needed a place urgently and there was nothing else so I had to come here. Anyway you go freshen up and rest. I will ask Shyam to bring dinner for you in your room.
Roshni: Nahi Ishimaa mujhe bhook nahi hai. I am not hungry Ishimaa.
Ishita (sternly) : Pregnancy mein aise bhooka nahi rehna chahiye. Jao ab. Rest karo. You shouldn't stay hungry when you're pregnant.Go now. Get some rest.
Ishita's Bedroom:
Ishita walks into her new temporary bedroom. As she looks at the bedroom she wonders how many more temporary bedrooms will she have to live in during this lifetime.
Ishita decides to take a long shower as she is mentally and physically exhausted. She thinks back and realises that it feels like a lifetime ago when she barged into Raman and her room, feeling broken and he took her in his arms to comfort her, when in fact all that had happened not even 24 hours ago. In less than 24 hours her life has taken such a drastic turn with unexpected shocks coming along the way. Shyam has neatly laid out the suitcases, in front of the empty wardrobe. Ishita bends and opens the first one. She sees Adi's folded clothes lying on the top. She picks up one of his favorite sweatshirts. She closes her eyes and hugs the sweatshirt tightly, as if she were hugging Adi for real. She holds on to it, as if she is clinging on to it for dear life. Suddenly the enormity of all that has happened hits her, her feet give way, she sits on the floor, holding on to his sweatshirt and before she knows it she is sobbing away, letting her own pain and anguish out.
Ishita (self-musing): Adi.... I am missing you... kaash yeh sab kuch hua hi nahi hota...kaash tum abhi mere pass hote... kaash main abhi apne ghar mein apne pure parivaar ke sath hoti... kaash main tumhare saath, Pihu ke saath jo hua us sab ko rok pati... kaash mein sabko is dard se guzarne se bacha pati...yeh sab kya ho raha hai Adi... meri kuch samajh mein nahi aa raha... yeh Roshni... yeh sab... sab kuch ulajtha ja raha hai Adi... mujhe laga tha ki jaldi sab theek ho jayega... lekin... cheezein bus complicate hoti ja rahi hai... Adi... ek din bhi nahi hua aur mujhe lag raha hai sab kuch khatam ho jaya... main haar gai hoon... main kya karu... I miss you Adi... kaash... kaash... kaash.... Adi... I am missing you... I wish none of this would have happened....I wish you were here with me...I wish I was back home with my whole family... I wish I could've stopped all this happening to you and Pihu...I wish I could save everyone from going through this pain...What is happening Adi... I don't understand any of this... this Roshni... all this... everything is getting mixed up...I had thought everything would become alright with time...but... everything is getting more complicated...Adi...it's not even one day and I feel like it's all over...I have lost...what to do... I miss you Adi... I wish... I wish... I wish....
Raman's Bedroom:
Raman is sitting on his bed. All the lights are turned off. The only source of light, is his phone screen. He is staring at the screen continuously without blinking. He suddenly tosses the phone away to the other end of the bed. It lands screen up and he can still see the picture he was staring at: one of their selfies Ishita had clicked during their most recent trip to London.
He stares at the phone, watching it and waiting for the screen to go blank so that the room is engulfed in complete darkness. Once it is completely dark, he stares into the darkness trying not to think but all he can think of is Ishita's betrayal. Tears come to his eyes and he lets them flow, thinking these are the last tears that he will cry for her sake. From now on it will be her turn to cry. She has taken away his peace and from now on he will not let her live in peace. She has destroyed his world, taken away from him what was dearest to him, one of his children and for that he will never forgive her. She might think that disowning her and throwing her out of the house was punishment enough, but Raman swears on his dead son, that this is just the beginning of her suffering.
