Echizen Ryoma was already serving his first ball when suddenly, Aido Hanabusa waved his hand outside the fence of the tennis court making him distracted making his twist serve go out but near where Hanabusa is. "So annoying. Any of senpais are just the same," he said to himself as he was bouncing the ball by his left hand and served another twist serve which Tezuka quickly returned by his left forehand.

The match was a really tough one because both really don't want to lose at that first game of Intraschool tournament. The two pillars of Seigaku were already at the match point with 6 games to 5 with Ryoma in the losing side after 45 minutes. He was feeling very tired now. He defeated Tezuka Zone once but whenever Ryoma use his Cyclone Smash, Tezuka will return it using his Tezuka Zone and do his Zero Shiki Drop Shot.

"15-0," Eiji said. He's the umpire for that match. A long rally soon followed.

"His shots and speed are better and sharper now but still, he's not yet so good as his father," Tezuka said as he return a ball from the far corner on his right side.

Hanabusa went beside Yumiko. "I came here to watch him do tennis. He told me that you fall for him because of how he plays and now, I understand. He really is an amazing player."

"Deuce," Eiji announced after fifteen minutes. 

Echizen's eyes are burning and so is Tezuka's. Both have missed tough matches but in the end, it was Tezuka's win. Eiji jumped and hugged Echizen. 

He also noticed his growth. "Oh!!! Ochibi! You're taller, now!!!" he's actually almost chocking him, making him breath hard.

"Ne, Eiji-senpai. I grew taller, what's the problem with that?"

Then, Yumiko and Aido went inside and still congratulated him. "But I lost," he said to Yumiko.

"You still played well," she said and smiled.

Eiji ruffled his hair and told him, "Your Yumiko-sama still congratulated you. Get out of that depression, now."

"Echizen, you've improved. Don't lose in the other matches, okay?" he said.

"I won't."

Tomoka felt really jealous of her but still, she watched him and cheered for him. They even loved being friends with Yumiko as they keep seeing him win at his other matches. His matches in the Inter-school tournament finally ended after three hours and now, Ryoma was just drinking his Ponta as he's watching Fuji's match against Kawamura. 

Technique vs Power...

Aido touched his right shoulder under the nearest tree and told him, "Good thing you still retained your regular position with only one loss."

He looked up and saw him, "Yeah, thanks for support, Aido-senpai. Did you come here to only support me?"

"No. I know you can leave now, right?" he smiled at him.

"Yeah but I want to watch Fuji-senpai's match," he said.

"Also, you want to sleep, right?" he asked him.

Echizen sat up when he noticed that his master isn't with him,"Where's Yumiko-sama?"

"Yumiko-chan? She's with her human friends. You can sleep. Don't worry about anything and also, can you help me find where your coach is?" he asked.

Zero just left Coach Ryuzaki in her room after talking about a practice match between the Night Class and the Seigaku Tennis Regulars which she gratefully accepted. When the eight regulars that will fight in the Nationals are already chosen, Coach Ryuzaki assembled them at the court but Echizen is still not with them. 

"Where's Echizen? This is a very important announcement," Coach Ryuzaki said.

Aido Hanabusa quickly answered, "He's fine. He's only sleeping, Coach Ryuzaki."

Everyone stared at him. "Who's he?" Momo asked Eiji.

"He's been around watching Ochibi and it seems he knows him!" Eiji happily said as he was playing with his racket.

"Sleeping? Was it really alright for Echizen to keep studying here?" Tezuka doubted.

"He will keep studying here, that's what Chairman Cross said, and if you know his secret, that old man also told me about what he is right now. Well, let's go straight on what I will say," she said while all of them are whispering at each other.

She announced to them, "The Regulars are invited in a very special elite school in our country and one of us goes there. We all know who he is. They will also need to prepare their coats and ties."

Tezuka is the very first person whom Coach Ryuzaki informed and so, he added, "We are invited by Chairman Cross's Night Ball tomorrow."

He turned to Aido and Zero. "He'll know it later, don't worry."

All of the members of the Tennis Club are dismissed except for the regulars. Momo told the two men as he was smiling, "You're not gonna make us a meal, right?"

"The Level E only does that," answered Hanabusa.

Echizen felt the warm breeze and also, he knew that Yumiko's drinking his blood in the open space. He just let her do it. It's one of his jobs as a servant, anyway. They sat up and Ryoma hugged her more. Luckily, the first people who saw them are Aido and Zero who quickly hid them from the public. After five minutes, Echizen held her hand. The sun's going down already.

Aido quickly told her, "What if someone sees you in the open doing that to your servant?"

"It's fine, Aido-senpai," Echizen said.

"Alright, don't do rash things in the open again. You better change your clothes. We've already taken your bags in Cross Academy."

They both quickly changed into their Night Class uniforms but before Echizen leave, Arai saw him holding hands with Yumiko and jealosy crept over him. He has a crush on Yumiko since he saw her in her first day. They even have the same clothes.

"How come they leave at the same time?" he asked.

The Seigaku Regulars, Zero and the three Night Class students left Seishun Gakuen at the same time again. "How's your first day in Cross Academy?" Fuji asked.

"Fine, actually. They welcomed me well. I even have something to recite," he said.

"Will the Inui juice still affect Ryoma now that he's a vampire?" Eiji wondered.

"I'll try to make a vampire juice. A juice that just fits with Ryoma's taste," Inui said.

All of the Seigaku Regulars looked at him frighteningly. "I think that's not required," Oishi said.

Then, Ryoma's quickly answered, "I better drink the tablets than that."

After a few minutes, they quickly separated themselves to them. "See you, Ryoma."

Hanabusa, Tsukiko, Ruka, Akatsuki, Rima and Shiki quickly became friends with him that day. They even liked ordering him some things which they are sure that Ryoma will follow. So, before Toga's class, they've noticed that he was trying to memorize something. Ruka who's becoming annoyed by the repeated words, took the paper away from him and told him, "Let me help you."

"Ah... thank you, Ruka-senpai."

She helped him recite all the twenty jobs of a Level D to his master and when Toga came in, he was the very first one whom he called. Thanks for the help of Ruka, his rushed memorization over that paper is done pretty well. 

Echizen finally had a chance to ask them where Yumiko and Kaname are. "Rima-senpai, where is Kaname-sama and Yumiko-sama?" he asked her. She was just in front of her.

She wasn't the one who answered him but Akatsuki, "Probably, Kaname, Yuki and Zero are having a long talk with her for tomorrow's events. Well, do you already know your team will have a practice team with us? Chairman Cross even invited them for the Night Class Ball, tomorrow."

Ryoma just sighed, "Was it safe for them to socialize with so many of us?"

"It's fine as long as they don't do any rash things like what Yumiko did today! You don't need to go to Seishun Gakuen tomorrow morning but the practice match will only start in afternoon. They're coming here themselves with the bus Chairman Cross organized for their stay here for one week," Rima told him.

"Good thing. I can sleep freely this morning," he said. 

Kaname and Yumiko appeared after a while and sat at their respective places. 

She smiled and told him, "Sorry if we took so long to come but we must make sure your team mates are all safe. Also, the daughter and grand daughter of hunters is safe with us tomorrow."

"We're excited to play, actually," smiled Hanabusa.

As the vampires are having a class, the Seigaku Regulars and Sakuno are all preparing for the ball and practice match. Of course, all of them are excited but Momo's the most excited of them all. 

The next day, a black bus with the seal of Cross Academy came to transport them. They've all noticed that Ryoma is already inside the bus at the back where no light can get in and, both were wearing their Night Class uniforms. 

Echizen is yawning beside Kuran Kaname, "Why do I have to come with you? I thought I'll be free to sleep this morning, Kaname-sama."

"Courtesy," he answered. His appearance is much scarier than Tezuka.

They all stared at them. 

When all have chosen their seats, Kikumaru Eiji asked Echizen by whispering at his left ear where he sat beside him, "Why do you call him in high regard?"

"The Kurans are the leaders of Vampires. Also, he's the brother of Yumiko-sama. Eiji-senpai, can you wake me when we get there? I'm still sleepy," he told him.

"Oh, okay," he said. Echizen started to sleep. 

Eiji tried to talk to Kaname but he was really scared. 

It was only Tezuka who bravely had a chance to have a chat with him. "I'm Tezuka Kunimitsu. I haven't had a chance to know you better and it seems his acceptance as what he really is, is getting better. It seemed he wasn't depressed."

"A servants' love is just like that. Their heart is always with their masters and it is their happiness to offer themselves to them," he answered him.

Coach Ryuzaki also went where he is and said, "I'm really happy you invited us to your school."

"How's the deceased hunters' daughter?" he asked.

Eiji and Kunimitsu also wanted to know. "Deceased?" they asked Coach Ryuzaki.

Coach Ryuzaki answered back, "She's fine. She's excited to meet her uncle, actually."

"What do you mean, Ryuzaki-sensei?" Eiji asked.

"Sakuno's father is a Vampire Hunter," she said. 

The two were actually surprised that made them look at Sakuno who's seating in front of the bus. The other Seigaku Regulars just kept talking together. They've really brought heavy bags with them. The ride to Seishun Gakuen to Cross Academy wasn't really a long one. The bus finally stopped and parked in front of Cross Academy. 

Echizen woke up after Kaname told him, too. They were the first ones to get out of the bus and wait for them. The two Ryuzakis followed them afterwards. Then, the other Seigaku Regulars were the last to get out. After a few minutes of walking, they finally reached the campus of Cross Academy where Chairman Cross, Zero and Yuki are waiting. He popped a balloon where he took out a welcome sign to them.

Coach Ryuzaki sighed, "You're still not changing, Cross."

"I should welcome them, at least, right?" he told her.

All of the Seigaku Regulars except for Echizen who's getting tired of being amazed, looked around and their faces dropped.

"Where's the tennis courts, Chairman Cross?" Oishi asked after all the introductions.

"We made an indoor tennis court, Oishi-kun," he said and suggested to Echizen, "Would you mind giving them a tour?"

"Nah, I'm sleepy. I should at least use my room this entire week, right? I have been sleeping anywhere this past few days," he said.

Kaname agreed with him but he allowed them to see where they will go. "Follow me, what you are all seeing is the building where the Day Class or humans study."

As expected, when they got there, there are several human girls who were screaming at them in front of the large, Night Class Dormitory's gate. Yuki and Zero quickly did their jobs as prefects.

"Kaname-sama!!!"

"Ryoma-kun!!!"

The Seigaku Regulars were really surprised that Ryoma is living behind those walls. 

Kaname quickly spoke up, "Aren't you all going to your classes? Give us some privacy!"

All the Day Class female students left after he screamed at them.

"Finally, they left us alone," Ryoma said.

"Why Echizen? Did they don't know they're living beside vampires?" Momo asked.

"They don't know. Most of all, the news about me quickly scattered and so, it was really hard to get away from them whenever that gate's opening for us to enter or leave the dorm," he said.

"You can't enter our dorm, humans," Kaname said to them with a serious voice.

The gate opened and the two quickly walked to get inside with Echizen saying, "I can finally sleep."

The gate soon closed after they went in.

"He's treating him like a dog," Kaido said.

"What did you say???" Momo asked. They had a small fight again but after a while, Cross ordered Yuki and Zero to tour their visitors and show them where they can practice and sleep.

Then, after settling down, the 8 Seigaku regulars assembled at the Indoor Tennis Court where they have free practice.

"How do you think the vampires here sleep?" Eiji asked Fuji.

"Normal beds, I do believe," Fuji said as they were practicing inside the Tennis Courts.

"This place is really large. I'd really want to study in the day class here in high school," Eiji replied.

...

Before Echizen entered his room which is just in front of Yumiko's room and beside Kuran Kaname's, Rima Toya approached him, "I smelled new and delicious bloods in front of our gate, your other senpais in Seishun Gakuen are all here, right?"

"Yes, Rima-san," he replied. "That's not what you really want to ask, right?"

"You got it! I smelled a sweet- smelling blood. It smells familiar but has a mix of a regular human blood. Who is she?" she asked.

"You just smelled Sakuno's blood, Rima-senpai. I'm sleeping, now," he said and quickly went in his bed and slept forgetting to close the door.

It was Rima who closed the door for him.

...

All of the Seigaku Regulars still can't believe they'll be staying in Cross Academy for one week. Chairman Cross reminded them that for that day, they will have a match with Rima Toya and Senri Shiki.

"Well, choose your player who will play them. I just forced them, so, play them well," he said.

"Will it be doubles?" Oishi asked.

"Yes," he said.

"The Seigaku's Golden Pair will play them," Coach Ryuzaki said.

Oishi and Eiji were surprised.

Sakuno quickly went in front of them and bowed. 

She told him who she is. "Oh! You're Ryuzaki Rin-san's daughter! You really look like your mother but your eyes are just like your father's! I still can't forget the days we were together but an accident took their lives," he said.

"Cross-ojiisan, how did my parents die? I know that it wasn't vampires, right?" she sadly said.

"No. They died because of a sickness. I can't tell you every detail, Sakuno-chan or you'll get depressed," he said and patted her on her head.

As all of the Seigaku Regulars are practicing, Senri and Toya are also practicing with each other inside their tennis court inside their dorm. Their movements are really swift and returns are really powerful. "Can they win against us?" Senri asked Toya as he was returning Toya's burning ball.

"If they're powerful enough. Aido told me that Echizen still didn't win against one of them even he already possesses vampire instinct," Senri said.

"He's a Level D. We're aristocrats and we can't afford to lose a game in just one day," Ruka told them.

The sound of the ball woke up Yumiko and when she went beside them, she smiled, "I thought they didn't want to play Tennis."

Ruka smirked, "They don't want to get bored. It'll be better for them to play something than to sleep. Also, they want to defeat your servant in Tennis."

"Where is Echizen-kun?" she asked.

"I won't tell you. I know you just want his blood that's why you're looking out for him," Ruka laughed and left them making Yumiko annoyed, so, it was Senri who answered her.

"Sleeping in his bed," he said.

She quickly dashed inside Ryoma's room and there he was, sleeping like a prince. She actually wanted to drink his blood, yes but what she wanted more is to sleep beside him.

...

After so many hours of waiting, Senri and Toya already went inside the indoor tennis court. Just like the Seigaku Regulars, they practiced their tennis skills.Eiji looked at the ball they were keeping on air. He shrugged his eyes off and told Oishi. "Their ball is covered with orange," he said.

"Their ball's burning?" he asked.

"Not exactly. It has just tremendous power but the color loses itself when returned by-," he was cut off by Ryoma.

"Senri Shiki-senpai," he finished.

"Oh, you're here Ryoma. We thought you're sleeping," Oishi said.

"Ruka-senpai dragged me here as I was having my 'sweet' time with Yumiko-sama," he said but Ruka pinched his ear.

"I dragged you here to watch your senpais' match. Later on, you'll have to change to your coat and tie. That's where both of you can do anything you want, understood?" she said.

Echizen went really irritated at her. "Hai! Hai!"

Eiji told Oishi, "Try to define 'sweet' in Echizen's new vocabulary."

Shiki and Toya stopped playing when they saw Echizen. "Dare to play with us, Echizen-kun?" Rima asked him.

"Heh? I thought I'll be just watching. That's why I didn't change into my Seigaku clothes," he said.

"I know we're not playing against you today, officially, but we want some revenge today from what you did last night."

Oishi quickly asked Echizen as he was taking his racket in his bag, "What happened last night?"

Ryoma smiled, "They lost against me. Two on one match, One set match."

Oishi smiled, "Really? Well, still, do your best, ok?"

"I'm totally annoyed Ruka-senpai woke me and dragged me here," he said. Then, he went to the court after he borrowed Kawamura's racket and played against them.

"Mada mada dane, Rima-senpai, Shiki-senpai!" he said as he did his last smash after ten minutes making everyone surprised by what happened. The match was just a blink of an eye.

"I'll soon defeat you!!! You!!! You Level D!!! You should even gave us even just one point and let me touch the ball once!" Rima said.

In Inui's observation, "Echizen won because he's playing actually with just one person. It's like he's trying to prevent the woman or so he called, 'Rima Toya' from touching the ball."

"Are you saying Shiki-senpai's weak, Inui-senpai?" he asked.

"Good job, Echizen. I'm not telling he's weak. He's just defending their side all the time," he answered him.

"I don't want Rima-senpai to touch the ball. Her ball's too heavy for me and I know Kawamura-senpai can return it," he said. 

Kawamura looked at him, "I'm not sure, Echizen." 

Then, when Ryoma gave him his racket to Kawamura, he totally changed, "I CAN DO IT!!! I CAN RETURN THAT ORANGE BALL!!!"

Shiki and Toya smiled, "Is he one of our opponents?"

Oishi and Eiji stepped up on the court, "We are your opponents."

"What happened at your match last night Echizen?" Oishi asked before their match begins.

Ryoma almost laughed at himself, "I almost got my eyes hurt after her ball hit my face last night. Last night, I prevented myself to return it because if I try to return it, I'm sure my wrist will be broken. Their strategy is to confuse their opponent when the heavy ball or the weak ball's coming and when I noticed that, I return the ball and keep giving it to Senri Shiki-senpai but still, don't underestimate them."

Senri served the first ball. After thirty minutes, both sides have four wins.

"They're good. I can't believe they'll be playing like this," Eiji said.

"What Echizen told us is true. If we keep giving the balls to that woman, we'll definitely lose," Oishi said. Kikumaru served the ball and a long rally soon followed. Shiki kept returning the balls for them and all were weak balls but suddenly, Eiji noticed the ball that was supposed for him, flew out of his view and went to Oishi's at his back and return it using his moon volley.

"What happened?" Eiji asked.

"Hey, Eiji! Why did you freeze out?" he said as the group of vampires lose a point.

"15-0," the umpire said.

"I saw the ball change directions and spin," he said. "It was a slice first, then..."

"Better pay attention to the match Eiji! The ball's coming your way!" Oishi said.

After thirty minutes, Kikumaru-Oishi pair and Senri-Rima pair are in tie breaker.

 "Seems like my match with them burned them," Ryoma said.

Ruka smiled, "It's actually what they wanted. They know they can't win against you."

"Eiji-senpai's distracted in the change of spin," Echizen said.

Eiji did another Kikumaru beam when the score's already 6-7. Both pairs don't want to lose but because Aido Hanabusa came in and distracted them by holding a glass of water filled by the color of blood tablets, they lost the match.

"Seems like they were distracted,Ruka-senpai," Echizen noticed, then, Hanabusa touched his shoulder as he was sipping.

"Would you mind drinking this for me? I'll still congratulate them for losing," he said.

Echizen took it and started drinking it. Now, he knows why Shiki and Toya went distracted. Then, Fuji approached and told him, "Can I taste that?"

"But this is..." he said but Fuji took it and drank it all.

"It doesn't taste like blood at all," Fuji said.

After that, Chairman Cross and Coach Ryuzaki assembled them. Echizen is with his fellow vampires. "You need to prepare yourselves for the ball this night. Enjoy yourselves later and you're free to do anything this afternoon. Rest. I do not want any of you practicing inside this tennis court," Coach Ryuzaki announced to them.

Sakuno went closer to Echizen and asked him, "How are you?"

"Sleepy," he answered back. Ryoma was already being called by his Vampire senpai when Tezuka and the others went beside him. They congratulated him for winning against Shiki and Rima for only ten minutes.

"They're tough opponents!" Eiji said.

"Your shots are sharper now!" Kawamura said to their Golden Pair.

"Let's have a doubles match next, Echizen," Momo said but Ryoma declined it. He wasn't minding his other vampire senpai until Kuran Kaname appeared and looked at him, ordering him to leave. He felt his presence and knew he has to go now.

Then, he ran quickly beside them, "He's calling out for me, already. I'll see you at the ball!"

They've all noticed Echizen's expression changed when Kaname appeared inside the court and how he called him. 

"Why is he so afraid of Kaname Kuran?" they all asked Chairman Cross.

"He's not afraid of him. All vampires honor them. Pureblood Vampires are very rare, most of all, he's serving the considered leader of Vampire Society," Chairman Cross told them.

Echizen Ryoma sat on the couch inside his room with Kuran Yumiko and after a while, Yumiko sinked her teeth in Ryoma's neck and started drinking his blood again.

...

The ball in Cross Academy is really something a person wouldn't forget. All were wearing beautiful, glittering, and elegant dresses. The Seigaku Regulars were wearing their coats and ties already that night. When they came in, Ruka and the others were having a chat in one corner as Akatsuki and Yuki are dancing. Echizen and the others are drinking the blood tablets in their glass of wine.

Momo looked at Fuji. He knows he tasted that red liquid. "It doesn't taste like blood at all," Fuji said.

"Really, Fuji-senpai?" Momo and the others noticed that the Day Class are also present in that ball and so, all of them had a chance to enjoy themselves. Fuji, Kawamura, Oishi and Eiji even dared to dance with the girls while Kaidoh and Momo are eating.

Akatsuki and Ruka were dancing in the beat of slow waltz.

Echizen and Yumiko were dancing together when Tezuka asked if he can allow him to dance with her. He gave him to her and sat with Momo and Kaidoh who were eating so many.

All of them have happy expressions in their faces including Ryoma as he was watching Yumiko and his bucho dance together.

"So, what do you think of Echizen?" Tezuka asked.

"He's really a great man. He always pressures himself and serve me loyally. I know that he'll be that person to me in the first place that's why I chose him and turned him as a vampire," she said.

At the same time, Cross Yuki is dancing with Kuran Kaname. "Kaname-senpai, I just noticed that Echizen turned into a vampire too quickly. Do you know the reason why?"

"It's a secret but I'll tell you. Promise me not to tell him yourself," he said. Zero watched them go to the terrace. He tried following them but Sakuno asked for him if she can dance with him.

With the two of them alone in the terrace, Kaname revealed to her Echizen's ancestry. "He's human, but without him knowing, his great grandmother in his mother's side is a pure blood turned human. Her family thinks his grandmother's dead but the truth is, she had been awakened by another vampire before she died as a human. His family ancestry is very close to our parents that's why I'm glad Yumiko found him."

"Why wouldn't we tell him that?" she asked.

"His grandmother's here. I'm sure she'll smell a blood just like hers," he said but actually, it was Echizen who first noticed it as he was now eating food with his Seigaku senpais. He stared at the long, green mint-haired girl which has the same eyes as his and she's with a male Aristocrat when she passed by their table. After eating his dessert, he told Kaidoh and Momo who were fighting against the last piece of cake in their table, "I'll just go to the restroom."

The two seemed not to notice him and so, he left and followed her trace. She found her talking with Kaname at the terrace. "He's my descendant, isn't it?" Both their eyes turned red. Kikumaru and Fuji who were just walking, saw something different in the atmosphere at the terrace and when Yuki caught sight of them, she quickly closed the doors going from there and put the curtain down.

"You knew that I'm someone much closer to you than Yumiko-chan, isn't it?" she told him. Akari Miyaki is taller than him and most of all, there were no traces of aging in her face.

"What are you to me?" he asked. Akari Miyaki quickly embraced him, held his head and whispered in his ear, "Your father never knew that he married a woman with a stagnant vampire blood in their veins. It was all because of my fault. My mother turned me into human. I never knew I am, until the day I almost died. My vampire self came back," she said.

Echizen was still confused. "I'm your great grandmother."

Echizen was surprised, "My mom never knew you?"

"I erased their memories about me but I know, someday I will meet my descendant who's a vampire just like me!" she said. Echizen Ryoma is still confused but when she told him to drink her blood for him to believe her, Echizen didn't think twice. He sunk his teeth to her and started drinking her blood and little by little, he knew she isn't lying to her.

All of the day class students have gone back inside their dorms and only the Seigaku Regulars, Kaname, Yuki, Zero, Echizen, and the other Vampires were the only ones at the building, the male, blue-eyed aristocrat who's with Akari Miyaki, held Kuran Yumiko hostage. 

Tezuka tried to save her but because he's human, he only pushed him easily. He tried to stand up but the only thing he could do is to tell his team mates to find Echizen and his companions.

Akatsuki and the others started attacking him while Ruka and Toya lead the Seigaku Regulars in safety. 

They safely got out of the building but Tezuka complained to them, "Echizen Ryoma is still inside!"

"Damn humans! He's in better condition than you! He can protect himself!" Ruka screamed.

Kaname, Echizen, Miyaki, Zero and the others quickly went inside the building and found Hanabusa, Tsukiko, Senri and Akatsuki fighting against another vampire.

"Miyaki-sama," he put down Yumiko and freed her. 

She quickly went beside and hugged Ryoma. "Thank you for helping me find your vampire descendant. I know you've been wishing to find one but, don't you know I want to devour him?"

Ryoma went really angry with him when he felt Yumiko's fear, "Who are you? How did you make Miyaki-sama trust you?"

"My name is Toma Kira. I woke her up as a vampire," he informed them. Miyaki went in front of them to protect them but Kaname stepped up to protect them.

"Leave!" he shouted.
