Chapter 1 🌹

Tribhanga Nivas

"..." Saṃhitā twisted her face, adjusting her glasses when her brother ate the entire paratha in one go, almost stuffing his face. Sanjay smiled through the pain of the wholesome food in his mouth but didn't fail to accept her challenge.

It was obvious of him to tease her that he is the eldest and capable of making her belch with his antiquities.

"...will you both stop it, already?..." the mother came towards the kids who were as usual in their morning bantering with rushing to school.

The father Sandeep came towards the dining table and watched his wife wave bye to her kids.

"...Vimala?...today I have a client meeting in the evening...so probably I will be late...so don't wait up, hm?" Vimala served the man his breakfast as he narrated his day schedule to her who smiled agreeing to the same.

The woman then made sure to complete her daily chores to move towards the supermarket for her monthly purchases. She instructed her maids to complete the work before they would continue to make some snacks for the hungry kids.

Saṃhitā and Sanjay were growing kids with the youngest trying to clear her 12th class with her desired grades to land in her dream college. Becoming a doctor was the little one's wish with the title of the city's top most surgeon.

Sanjay had opted to join the aeronautic division in the university with his dream of becoming a fighter pilot.

Both the kids were their parents inspiration with their high-flying dreams, marking their place in the family heirloom of doctors, engineers and distinguished professionals.

In the afternoon,

Saṃhitā played the keyboard as her brother picked his gym bag to head for his physical turmoil as was the nature of most of his friends.

"...hey shorty!!...remember to charge the laptop after...ok?" as Saṃhitā nodded with not stopping her playing, Sanjay shaked his head at her awkward pout.

Saṃhitā used to make weird faces when too excited at almost anything.

After some, she kept the earphones aside to stretch her muscles and run off to the playground for a round of tennis with her friends.

As days passed the kids were totally engaged in their work-play-work activity with no knowledge of a certain uncle and aunty landing in their peaceful house to ruin it altogether.

Kamala was their maternal aunt with being Vimala's youngest who was married off to a farmer, Suresh.

Suresh was a BA in economics with using his knowledge to acquire the latest agricultural equipment and technology to farm his crops as per the demands of the market.

But Kamala disliked him with being just a farmer as compared to her sister being married off to a businessman in the city.

Her jealousy would often spurt out whenever Sandeep would invite them for Deepavali every year to enjoy the festivities with the family and friends.

Sandeep's brother and family would also accompany them in the big household, filled with their fun and frolicky.

Sandeep craved for a huge family and wanted to have them over all year long. But since all of them were equipped with their own life in different parts of the world, it was difficult but not impossible.

In the market,

Saṃhitā was shopping with her cousins for some good decorating ornaments as Sanjay searched for some nice loud firecrackers.

"...Arrey!...take this one!...it will look nice on you!!...*chuckles*..." as Saṃhitā picked a pair of earrings to her little cousin, she giggled with wanting to have some matching bangles too.

The girls then moved to the next shop for some more shopping, Sanjay warned them to not wander off too far.

But the shopping spree girls didn't wait for anyone, and moved past their marked point.

"...Samy!...take this and put it in the bag with others...Samy!!!" Sanjay called out his sister who was nowhere in the vicinity, scaring him. He ran in to find her with instructing the other cousins to look for Saṃhitā alongwith the other girl cousins.

"...leave, idiot!!..." as the girl struggled to not let go of her sling bag from the notorious thief, Saṃhitā screamed to grab the attention of the passersby in the lone alley.

Wham!

The girl fell back as the man whacked the thief, scaring him off from the helpless girls. Sanjay came just in time to see the girls gathering themselves from the tremor, as the man caught hold of his hip huffing badly.

He turned around to see the girl still in jitters and bend down to her consoling "...don't worry, he is gone...let me help you!..." saying so he helped the girl up.

Sanjay halted his steps when he saw his gym buddy helping his cousins, he rushed to thank the man.

"...Daksh?!!..." and saw the man give his dimpled smile at the boy who went in for a friendly hug, earning a shock from the lot.

As Sanjay introduced Daksh to his cousins, they came to know about the man who had happened to come in the market to help out his mother in shopping.

Saṃhitā smiled at his words when he explained that he was not able to come in time as he couldn't hear the exact place from where the scream had come.

"...its fine!...you came, right?...that matters...thank you so much for helping us!!..." as Saṃhitā thanked him for his efforts to help the distressed girls, Daksh smiled and left bidding bye to his friend.

He turned his head to see Saṃhitā helping out her hurt cousin with a concerned look, making him mark her in his mind with "..cute freckles!..." to join his searching mother, Dharani.

Shivalaya Mansion

Dharani expelled a long breathe as she slumped on the couch with her sons chuckling at their mother. Daksh took out his phone to check for any messages from his father, Shekhar the industrialist.

As the maid bought them refreshments, Dainik walked towards his room to have some light sleep before his football match. Daksh too excused to join his father in the important meeting discussing the merger with the foreign company.

In the evening,

As the family was gaily having their dinner discussing their daily life, the mother suggested the youngest Dainik to have the rice but he completely denied with the excuse of maintaining his abs.

"...humph!...just a 15-year-old trying to build abs?!...why don't you build those brain cells with some studies...hm?" as his eldest teased him while having his mother's famous dal, Dainik glared at him only to make Daksh laugh out loud.

"...stop it, Dada!..." Dainik warned him who scoffed at his attitude and got up for a fight. Daksh knew that the kid would never be able to take his punch but being the eldest he only wanted to tease the hot blooded Dainik.

Dharani caught hold of their buff arms as they were ready to throw hands at each other.

"...what is going on, huh?" as Shekar approached the family; the boys went back to their place with the stern order from their father.

"...Daksh?...I am hoping to get this deal...hm?" Shekar asked the eldest 22-year-old Daksh who nodded replying "..don't worry Dad!...we got this!!..."

The boy was his father's pride when he entered the business world to take it to new heights. But Shekar feared for his humble son to not fall under the hands of the money thirsty hyenas waiting to take away his son from him.

However, Shekar was unaware of his son's effort to not able to calm his own devilish side which would seldom emerge when summoned by him.

Daksh believed in the knowledge of humans having both the devil and angel side to them, making them vulnerable in different situation.

If used the right side at the right time, the man could capture his enemies in his trap with no much efforts required.

So, when his father offered him to deal with the merger of the foreign company with their organisation, Daksh had to undergo certain level of deception from his trustees. But that didn't disappoint the young dynamic man who opted to take the help of his frenemies to solve the issue with some monetary benefits to them, of course.

His spies where working full time, to give him the timely reports of the treachery that the competitors were planning against their organisation.

Like the time, when the shipment were ceased by the customs under the pretext of non-compliance to the proper documentation.

Daksh just dialled some of his friends from the airline office by sending them the legal formalities; he and his organisation has complied with. The custom officers had to release the shipment with delay in order placement but the said order did reach the buyer without any damage.

Shekar was proud of his son's effort to maintain the decorum of their organisation and its employees with his own, while keeping the enemies at bay always.

As the festival of lights occupied the respective household, the families were able to enjoy their little fun time with their loved ones.
