34| Catch Me If You Can

Same Difference update marathon coming through! I've nearly finished the book, so I might as well just finish it.

KAZENOSUKE

"Kazenosuke. Wake up. We're going to be late for church."

It was Sunday morning now and Destiny and her family were getting reading to go to church.

Denise had accidentally overslept by half an hour, so everyone was therefore half an hour late.

Although it didn't really matter if they were late though, as their church had always started with praise and worship, but it was still important for them to go.

As Denise had absolutely hated missing that.

Everybody in the house was ready except Kazenosuke, which was what Destiny was actually very worried about.

Denise had told her to hurry up and that with Destiny telling her one second and that she would have been on her way shortly, she just had to wake up Kazenosuke.

Saying that, she had then gone over to Kazenosuke's room, although Israel's room realistically speaking, pretty much telling him to wake up but he didn't seem to be responding to her or anything.

"Kazenosuke."

No response.

Then again.

"Kazenosuke?"

She had been tapping him with the duvet covered the whole time, so she had then decided to remove the duvet cover completely, to at least find out why Kazenosuke hadn't replied and all that.

When Kazenosuke wasn't there, Destiny had freaked out a lot.

It was even worse because he had used Treyvonetta's teddy bear as well as a pillow to disguise himself, but now Destiny was really confused.

He's not there? Destiny had thought to herself after she had seen all of this happen. Where could he be then?

He wasn't dead.

He was just missing, literally.

Denise had told Destiny to hurry up and get in the car, as that was where everybody was right now, besides Candi Rose.

"Mum," Destiny had whispered in her quietest voice ever, which was usually done when she was really worried or embarrassed about something.

Denise had just stared at her, quite annoyed as to why she was calling her, but then when Destiny had told her that Kazenosuke wasn't there, she had gotten annoyed even more.

"What do you mean Kazenosuke's not there?" Denise had repeated after Destiny had said that, with Candi Rose also being really worried about this as well.

She had told both of them that Kazenosuke had used one of Treyvonetta's many teddy bears to disguise himself, as well as a pillow underneath all this to make the teddy bear seem longer than it originally was.

Not the best disguise, yeah.

And Kazenosuke knew that.

But he was panicking.

And he didn't know what else to do.

Destiny had tried texting him and everything, but no matter what she had done, he wouldn't have picked up any of her calls or answered any of her texts either.

She had sent him five texts and five calls overall, which was all done just before Denise had told her to hurry up.

What were the texts she sent?

Here.

To Kazenosuke ❤️💜
Baby, where are you?
You're not picking up
Please, babe. Answer my calls
We're all extremely worried about you
Hope you're OK & I love you forever and always

But he hadn't replied to any of them.

Destiny had never usually sent anyone that many messages at all, but like Kazenosuke, she was panicking as well as extremely stressed out here and she didn't know what to do.

Kazenosuke was nowhere to be seen right now, and Destiny was totally freaking out about it.

It was with Denise and Destiny talking about where Kazenosuke might have been that Candi Rose had seen some type of note.

Destiny must have not realised that it was there before or something, because the note had explained everything.

Candi Rose had kindly told both of them to hush up, whilst she had taken the white note on the bed in Kazenosuke's handwriting, with all of them reading it together.

Kazenosuke's handwriting had kinda sucked.

But it was what it was.

To the Ryan family

Y'all, this is Kazenosuke. I mean who else would it be? You're probably wondering where I am right now.

Here's the answer.

I've ran away.

Far far away.

My depression was getting worse every second, which had been caused in the first place due to Kiandre & Kassandra's deaths, let alone my mum's as well.

I can't cope with that many losses. It's personally too much for me. Kiandre was my homie and so was Kassandra as well, to an extent.

Thank y'all for your amazing hospitality, and Destiny if you're reading this, then I love you baby girl, and you're the best girlfriend I've ever had.

And no, I ain't dead. And I ain't planning on dying either.

Like I said. I've just ran away... far, far away.

Catch me if you can

-Kazenosuke

"Catch me if you can"?

Was that supposed to be a threat or something?

What on Earth?

Either way, this was serious and nobody was too happy about it.

Inevitably.

"My boyfriend's ran away?" Destiny had panicked, walking around in circles because she was stressing like crazy, with Denise and Candi Rose in the meantime just watching her helplessly.

"What are we finna do now?"

Denise had told Destiny that she should have stayed behind to search for Kazenosuke before it was too late to do so, although when Candi Rose had wanted to stay at home with her?

Denise was kind of against it completely.

"You're too young, babe."

"But he's my brother!"

Denise had just stared at her and sighed, before looking over at Destiny who winked at her, then she had faced Candi Rose again.

"Fine. But Destiny must supervise you at all times. I'll see both of you guys later. Bye."

Denise had then kissed both of them on the cheek, with them muttering bye to her, watching her close the door behind her then it was just Candi Rose and Destiny in Israel/Kazenosuke's room together.

"OK," Destiny had whispered to Candi Rose soon after Denise had left, with Candi just staring at her blankly.

"There's absolutely no way we can find your brother by ourselves. So therefore, I'm gonna call some of our mutual friends for some help."

Candi Rose had wanted to know who, with Destiny just telling her the usual people.

So basically Janette, Calista and Valentina.

She would have also called Esmeralda but she had moved houses at the moment so she had lived almost way too far away right now.

But they weren't the only people that Destiny was going to call for help though, as apparently she was also going to call Kazenosuke's homies Trevor, Kerazin and Terrence too.

But that was it.

She needed those three because they were the closest people to Kazenosuke now that Kiandre had died, so they probably knew about his whereabouts and that.

Candi Rose was worried that that was way too many people coming, because if she had added both her and Destiny into the equation, then that was approximately eight people coming.

"You can never be too certain and eight people might be perfect. Valentina can drive now after passing her driver's test after like ten failures, and Kerazin's sister gave her car to him because she's getting a new one."

She had then nicely told Candi Rose to remain quiet whilst she had called her friends, and she had started off with Valentina.

Yeah, Valentina didn't pick up.

Neither did Janette.

Or Calista.

She had called and texted them three times each because she was desperate to find Kazenosuke as he was her boyfriend and everything, but not that desperate.

And she had said the same thing to each of them:

Hey girl
Major sitch
I really need to talk to you

But that was it really.

She could have just texted all of them collectively in a group chat but Destiny wasn't lazy like that, so she had texted all of them respectively instead.

"None of them are picking up, Candi Rose! What now?"

"Has it ever occurred to you that maybe they're not picking up your calls because they're in church or they're busy and it would be disrespectful for them to text or call you back in church?"

That thought had not crossed Destiny's mind at all, no.

So for a thirteen year old, Candi Rose was really smart.

All of her friends were religious, so all of them would have gone to some place of worship or something every Sunday, unless stated otherwise.

What was she going to do now though?

She couldn't have waited for all of them to finish church, goodness knew how long that was going to take, and Kazenosuke's life was at stake here.

That was until she had realised that she could have texted Kerazin because his church was at home after the church he had gone to had gotten set on fire the other day when a toaster had gotten set on fire (it was a centre as well as a church).

Which had caused him and his family to avoid going to church or any type of place of worship in general.

Frantically, Destiny had looked for Kerazin's name in her text conversations, which was actually quite hard to do because despite them being close, they hadn't really talked that much on the phone at all.

The last time they had talked was about two weeks ago, when Kerazin had congratulated both Destiny and Kazenosuke on their new official relationship with each other.

They were perfect for each other apparently, with many people agreeing the same thing, not just Kerazin.

To Kerazin❤️
Hey bro
Major sitch
I really need to talk to you
I would have called you but I know you're doing home church right now and I didn't want you to get into any kinda trouble

Kerazin hadn't replied back in a really long time, making Destiny worried especially when he had left her on read.

Kerazin❤️
I'm about to start home service now actually
Can it wait?

Destiny
No! I need you now bro!
Let me just tell you straight up: Kazenosuke's run away

Kerazin had freaked out madly when he had heard that, asking Destiny if she was being serious.

Destiny
Of course I'm being serious, bro!
He wrote us a letter & everything
Imma send it to you right now in case you don't believe me
But please bro. I'm worried. And tell your crew & my girls to meet me at my house ASAP, 'cause this is serious and Kazenosuke's life is at stake here

Kerazin had agreed to that, especially when Destiny had showed him proof that she wasn't lying, and after a while, one hour specifically...

All eight of them were in Destiny's sitting room.

Pretty much talking about the whole situation.

As well as how to solve it and find Kazenosuke before it was too late for them to do so.

This was a race against time, it really was.

And they just had to find him before the kid had done anything that was stupid, as in died, and nobody really wanted that for themselves.

Yeah, that would have really really sucked.

No doubt about that, at all.
