32| Kazenosuke, Kerazin & Destiny

KAZENOSUKE

Kazenosuke was literally nowhere to be seen.

No joke.

Kerazin had been looking for him everywhere, but he couldn't really have found him at all.

Kazenosuke was upset at him, Destiny and Trevor for coming here, because he didn't want any of them to be involved in his problems.

It was even worse for him because his mother had just died, but he didn't really want anyone to know about that either.

It had nearly been five minutes now, in terms of Kerazin looking for Kazenosuke and all that, but the kid was literally nowhere to be seen.

Face it, Kerazin, he had thought to himself, whilst still looking for Kazenosuke. Maybe the kid doesn't want to be seen.

If that wasn't the case then you would have found him a long time ago, but you haven't.

Sighing to himself, Kerazin had then turned around behind him to walk away (he was now right in front of the hospital), but that was when he had seen Kazenosuke in the least expected place to be.

His car.

Are you kidding me?

He was literally there the whole time?

Why didn't I think of that once?

Having no other choice really, because he was already there and there was no point of him turning back, Kerazin had gone to Kazenosuke's car, who was deeply crying over his mother's death.

As well as lamenting over a song as well.

I'm so sick of love songs, so tired of tears
So done with wishin', you were still here
Said I'm so sick of love songs, so sad and slow
So why can't I turn off the radio?

Kerazin had never seen Kazenosuke like this in his entire life, so seeing him be in this state had made him really devastated.

He was internally deciding between talking to him or leaving him alone, then realising that he hadn't just looked for Kazenosuke around the hospital like ten million times for nothing...

He had gone over to his car.

And he had knocked on it really hard as well.

"Kazenosuke," Kerazin had called, banging his hands kinda furiously on his car door. "Yo, bro. Open up. I really really need to talk to you."

He didn't listen.

But in his defence?

He couldn't actually hear Kerazin, as the music was turned up so loud.

That was kinda done on purpose, to be honest, because Kazenosuke didn't want anyone to talk to him to begin with.

Although when Kerazin had realised that Kazenosuke hadn't replied to him?

He had rolled his eyes a bit.

Before banging on the door again.

But the same thing still happened.

Kazenosuke didn't reply.

How loud is his music right now? Jeez!

Maybe I should try a different approach.

He had tried a different approach like he had said he was going to do.

But no one had said that the different approach was better.

Because it wasn't.

What this different approach was?

He had thrown some very small rocks he had found on the floor at Kazenosuke's car window.

Inevitably, this had gotten his attention, but not for the right reason whatsoever.

Inevitably, kinda like Kerazin had suspected, Kazenosuke was mortified when he had seen this, but he was even more mortified than before when he had seen Kerazin.

"Kerazin?" Kazenosuke had shouted at him, rolling down his car window. "You tryna break my car window or something? What is wrong wit' you?!"

Kerazin had accidentally thrown a rock at Kazenosuke because he hadn't even realised that he had rolled down his car window at all.

When Kerazin had seen the annoyed look on his face, he had freaked out a bit, before apologising
to him for what he had done.

However, when Kerazin had asked Kazenosuke if he could have opened the car door in order for them to talk to each other...

Kazenosuke had refused immediately, with Kerazin then telling him that he wasn't leaving where he was until Kazenosuke had opened the car door.

"We finna be here all day if you do that, 'cause I ain't opening this stupid door."

Kerazin had just folded his arms at him, but he didn't reply or say anything else.

Shoot.

He's being serious.

He really isn't leaving until I open this door.

Kazenosuke had rolled his eyes comically after he had thought this, before then reluctantly opening the door for Kerazin, who had jumped in and had closed the door behind him, then they had eventually talked to each other once and for all.

"Why you here, bro? I don't like you. I mean, I do like you, but I just want some space right now, can't you respect that?"

"What's up, Kazenosuke?" Kerazin wanted to know, Kazenosuke avoiding all types of eye contact with him. "What's going on? Look, I know you don't like us being here at the moment but honestly? We were just trying to help. Is that too much to ask?"

It must have been too much to ask or something because Kazenosuke had just rested his hand on the window in boredom, not really saying anything to him at all.

He had then examined his fingernails deeply, but no words had actually come out of his mouth again.

Kerazin had realised this nearly straight away, and becoming kind of concerned over the kid, he had waved his hand in front of his face to get his attention again.

"You good?"

"Of course I'm not good, bro!" Kazenosuke had yelled at him, accidentally on purpose smacking his hand away. "My mum just died, and now me and Candi Rose literally have no one. And I don't need no help," he lied helplessly. "Never did and I never will."

But Kerazin knew much better than this.

He knew that Kazenosuke was lying.

He did need help.

But he just didn't want to say it to anyone.

"Dude, you've been in a terrible emotional state since both Kiandre and Kassandra's deaths," Kerazin had reminded him, kinda shaking his head at him. "You do need help. You just don't want to show it to anyone. And bottling up your feelings like this will just make everything worse. Trust me. We're all here for you, whether you like it or not."

Kazenosuke wanted to know why bad things had kept on happening to him.

His life had been terrible lately, kinda like a series of misfortune events, and quite frankly?

He was getting sick of it.

"Kazenosuke, we all face adversities in life, and I'd be lying if I said we didn't. It's how you deal with them that matter. I know how you feel. My sister nearly died as well."

"Your sister nearly died, but my mum did die, so you don't know how I feel!"

That was actually a really good point.

Kerazin didn't know what to say.

He was actually kinda stunned, that was why.

"Look, bro," he sighed. "I'm really sorry for your loss, I truly am. But the difference between someone surviving something and someone dying from the same thing is that God is finished with the person that died but God isn't finished with the person that survived. We all have to face death, bro, whether you like it or not. It was just your mum's time to go. And honestly? Death scares me too. But like I said, you've got me, Trevor and heck, even Destiny and her girls that will always be there for you, no matter what."

Kerazin was done talking, he didn't know what to say.

It was then that Kazenosuke realised that maybe he had been a bit too hard on them after all, and then being here wasn't even that bad, at the end.

He had cried over his mother's passing again, with Kerazin hugging him, and Kazenosuke candidly apologising for treating him like dirt.

"No problem, bro. But I don't think you should just apologise to me," Kerazin informed him. "You also need to apologise to Trevor as well, but especially Destiny. You've caused more damage on her than me and Trevor combined. No offence. But yeah, you really need to say sorry to Destiny."

If he knew what was best for him anyway.

Kerazin then had to leave, with him texting Destiny on his phone that Kazenosuke wanted to talk to her, then he had left.

Fortunately for Kazenosuke, as he was a pretty impatient person, Destiny had gotten Kerazin's text almost immediately, walking over to Kazenosuke's car, high fiving Kerazin on the way.

Kazenosuke had sighed when he had seen her, before nicely forcing her to close the door behind him.

He had sighed after thinking about how rude he had been to her, then thinking about if they had swapped positions, and she was rude to him.

He wouldn't have liked it at all.

"Kiandre's dead!" He cried, tears filling his eyes. "And it's all your fault! That's why I'm mad at you! That stupid pepper spray you used on him caused him to be visually impaired, and it got worse because he ended up having glaucoma. He died in hospital last month!"

That shut Destiny right up for good.

But that's not the only reason I'm not happy with you. When I asked you at Same Difference two months ago where Kiandre & Kerazin were, you said they were in the nightclub, but they went to the hospital and you knew that!

I looked like a stupid person looking around for them. Are you happy, Destiny?! You killed Kiandre! Screw that.. I'm out of here!

Dang, that hurt.

He had a right to be annoyed and all that though.

But it still hurt.

After Destiny had closed the door behind her just like Kazenosuke had wanted her to, she had then wanted to know what Kazenosuke wanted to talk to her about, and he eventually apologised.

"Destiny... I am so so sorry for the way I've treated you today. You didn't deserve everything I put you through. I was being selfish and rude and I feel stupid. The fact that you guys even took your time to come out here just shows how much you care, and I really appreciate you for that."

"Kazenosuke, you weren't being selfish!" She echoed. "You had every right to be mad at me, over Kiandre's death. I should have listened to you when you said you needed help, but I didn't. I got myself involved in what didn't concern me and I hate myself for that. And I appreciate you too. Thank you for everything."

They had then hugged each other, whilst kinda simultaneously asking each other for forgiveness, and they forgave each other.

After Kazenosuke had asked Destiny if they were cool now, Destiny had said yes, but then what?

Kazenosuke still had no place to stay, and neither did his sister either.

But Destiny fixed that.

She had told Kazenosuke that they could have stayed with them.

Now all she had to do was to ask her mum, and ask her if doing all of that was OK with her.

Easier said than done though, way easier.
