24| I Predict An Earthquake Up In Here

Incoming: Triple update (I'll try to anyway. I have a lot of free time)

DESTINY

"There you are, girl. I've been looking for you everywhere. You OK? Why did you decide to pepper spray Kiandre?"

Destiny was still sitting outside of Same Difference, with people watching the fight coming into the nightclub as the fight was technically over now.

She had just seen Kerazin and Kiandre head over to the hospital, and that was when Destiny knew for sure that she had messed up.

Kazenosuke had talked to her earlier about the whole situation... kinda anyway. He had no idea that Kerazin & Kiandre were on their way to the hospital right now.

She hadn't replied to what Calista had said to her, only making Calista become even more concerned than before as she had sat down next to Destiny.

"Why did you pepper spray Kiandre?" She wanted to know. "I thought you liked him and everything. What happened out there?"

Destiny hadn't replied to what she had said though, because she was crazy embarrassed over what she had just done.

"He tried to kiss me, Calista, and I got scared!"

"So you pepper sprayed him?!" Calista condemned, which shut Destiny right up for good. "Look, Destiny, I know you're my best friend and everything but what you did was crazy stupid. What if Kiandre dies?"

Over pepper spray?

Seriously?

Impossible.

Was it?

Destiny didn't know, although she did feel crazy guilty, especially if the dude had died.

At least Calista hadn't asked the girl where she had even gotten the pepper spray from because Destiny honestly didn't even know the answer to that question.

She had just found it on the table. Same Difference was a crazy nightclub really. One could have found anything anywhere.

Because Destiny was so embarrassed, and she didn't want to be hated by anyone, especially Kiandre's homies (though Kerazin was really calm) she had insisted Calista to go home.

In other words, she wanted Calista to call Esmeralda and the rest of them to go home because Destiny was honestly done here and she didn't want to come back.

"What? Now? It's only like 7PM though. We still have five more hours."

"Just call Esmeralda already! For goodness sake, Calista! Just listen to simple instructions!"

Destiny didn't really mean that, but she was just honestly very tired and she wanted to go home- and avoid communication with everyone except her girls if possible.

Listening to her, Calista had then called Esmeralda on her phone (as Destiny's was dead) where she had picked up immediately.

She too wasn't very happy that Destiny wanted to leave the nightclub so early, but she didn't want to argue so she had just called the girls so that they could meet up again.

After about ten seconds later, all 5 of them had met where Destiny and Calista were, with Janette asking Destiny what had happened between her and Kiandre because she too had heard that Kiandre had been pepper sprayed by her as well.

"He tried to kiss me and I freaked out."

"Kiandre did what?!" Esmeralda fumed, everyone telling her to calm down. "Why's that dusty old rat tryna kiss my baby? Where is he anyway? Lemme give him a taste of his own medicine again."

"He just went to the hospital with Kerazin. I saw them." Destiny explained. "They would have come here but this place is Same Difference and they want nothing associated with that so I don't exactly blame them for it. And he had asked me for another chance and I said yes because I still had feelings for him. I still do but I don't think he likes me anymore."

Of course he didn't like you, baby, you literally just peppered sprayed him!

Which was way worse than him rejecting her, come to think of it.

They had all talked about that for a long time, with Esmeralda eventually heading out to get her Cadillac after like ten or so minutes.

When Esmeralda had come back with her Cadillac, all five of them were about to leave...

But didn't.

Because Janette had heard her favourite song.

If the rhythm makes you move your head
Then we should start, what do you think?
My music discriminates nobody
So, let's rock this place

"Mi Gente English version!" Janette gasped, jumping up and down. "That's my favourite song, y'all! We gotta go inside. Please! I want to dance."

Right now though?

Where was Janette when Destiny had said that she wanted to go home?

In fact, forget that.

She really wanted to go home & it wasn't even funny anymore. She absolutely hated it here.

Valentina had pointed this out to her, with Destiny telling her that she could have gone inside if she wanted to.

"You sure?" Esmeralda asked.

Destiny had nodded vigorously after she had heard that, then kinda reluctantly, all five of them had simultaneously entered back into Same Difference again just for Janette to listen to her favourite song.

She could have listened to it in the Cadillac really, but apparently, she didn't want to dang outside, plus the music was louder in the nightclub anyway.

Although they could have done without going back inside the nightclub to be honest.

Because soon after...

There had seemed to be a gunshot sound.

Then another one.

Then a series of them.

When everyone had heard them, they had stared to freak out internally, even more so when someone had announced that there was a terrorist attack that was going on in Same Difference right now and no one could have escaped because they had secured the doors.

Literally everyone inside of Same Difference was screaming right now, some running for their lives and some even trying to escape from the window...

Only for them to get shot by a terrorist.

"A terrorist attack?!" Destiny shouted. "What are we gonna do? How are we gonna survive?"

"This is all your fault, Janette!" Calista hissed, Janette giving her an annoyed glance even though what Calista had said was totally true & no one could have argued against her. "If we hadn't come back here then maybe we wouldn't be in this situation right now!"

They didn't have any time to blame others though, they seriously had to split up.

The five of them could have stayed together, but that was kind of risky.

So therefore, whilst Destiny had gone to hide with Janette, Esmeralda, Calista and Valentina had gone to hide with each other instead.

These terrorists were not messing around with each other, at all.

There were like 300 people at the start of the nightclub, now there were like 250 because 27 had died now and 23 people had smartly gone home or managed to escape.

Whilst Esmeralda, Valentina & Calista were hiding under a table, Destiny and Valentina were hiding in a closet instead: the one where all of the drinks, wines and alcohols were kept.

Destiny had never panicked or breathed so heavily in her entire life and Janette had never hated herself so much in her entire life for getting everyone into this situation.

"I feel like all of this is my fault. I'm so sorry, Destiny."

"Glad you noticed!" Destiny whispered to her, checking to see if the coast was clear so that they could have escaped.

It wasn't.

"And don't beat yourself up. Everyone makes mistakes, so you shouldn't condemn yourself for yours."

"I mean, yeah, I've made mistakes before... but none of them have ever been a near death experience!" Janette ranted at her. "Gosh. Why can't I be one of those psychics or something? The ones that can predict the future? That would have been so useful right now."

Yeah, Destiny didn't reply to that.

She hadn't found it necessary to.

That was why.

Plus she really didn't want to blow her cover. If the terrorists had found out that they were in there, then they were all dead meat.

Literally.

When Destiny had seen two terrorists in the far distance coming their way without actually seeing them (there were 10 of them in total), she had told Janette to get down and shut up.

In the nicest way possible.

Is that everyone killed? Destiny could hear Terrorist 1 say to Terrorist 2.

They've killed everyone already?! Destiny thought to herself. They're good terrorists!

Unless they're lying.

It's impossible for us to kill everyone. Terrorist 2 answered after a while. Let's just kill the people we can see. I go to the left. And you go to the right. Quick. We have limited time.

"I hope Esmeralda, Calista and Valentina are OK," Janette whispered to Destiny again, with Destiny slowly opening the door, telling Janette to sneak out quietly. "Why didn't we go with them again?"

They wanted to make their way to where the white chocolate fountain was, mainly because it was a seriously good hiding spot, plus hello?

White chocolate fountain!

There was a chocolate fountain.

But a white chocolate fountain?

That was kind of incredibly rare.

"All five of us hiding in the same place is kinda risky, don't you think?" Destiny told her. "It was better for us to split up and-"

"Heeeeey!"

Destiny and Janette were in the white chocolate fountain room right now, which was right opposite the room they had just come out of, completely startled yet surprised to find Chantelle and Tabitha just smiling at them like crazy.

Chantelle and Tabitha were the two girls that had complimented all 5 of them earlier, with Chantelle about to reveal a truth bomb about Kiandre but didn't because her boyfriend had arrived and she wanted to go and say hi to him.

They were also two of the most popular kids at Destiny and her girls' school. However, unlike most popular kids, Chantelle and Tabitha were crazy sweet.

But it wasn't just an act.

They were genuine people.

Seriously genuine people.

Destiny had remembered that Chantelle had wanted to tell her a truth bomb about Kiandre, but she didn't want to ask her about that right now because it wasn't necessary for her to.

"Chantelle? Tabitha?" Janette smiled. "What are both of y'all doing here?"

"Shhhh, girl, keep it down!" Tabitha warned her. "And we've been here since, man. We don't want the terrorists to know that we're here."

Who did?

Whilst all three of them were talking to each other, Chantelle had realised something in the far corner, and it had seemed like...

A window.

Yes!

A way out.

It was very high up though, and it wasn't if she could have reached it. But luckily, with Janette's help, all four of them (Destiny needed help though- a lot of help) had gone up the window, down some vent.

And outside too!

After about thirty minutes, with about ten minutes spent just trying to help Destiny get out of the vent alone.

All four of them were safe now, but what about Esmeralda, Calista and Valentina?

Janette had tried calling them but they hadn't picked up, either of them.

She had done this five times, but none of them were picking up.

After all hope was pretty much lost though, Valentina and Calista had entered the scene, smiling at them and hugging them because they had survived the terrorist attack.

"Hold up- where's Esmeralda?" Destiny wanted to know.

"She was hiding with Sekani," Calista unfolded. "She had seen him and had gone with him, because too many of us were hiding in the same place. And heads up, Destiny? He's very mad at you for pepper spraying Kiandre."

She wasn't very surprised though- they were cousins after all.

Esmeralda hadn't shown up for a really long time though, so the girls had thought she had died or something.

They were about to head home now in her Cadillac after not hearing from her for like ten or so minutes, but then when Valentina was about to drive off, that was when Esmeralda had entered the scene.

"What? Y'all thought I died?" She said, getting in the Cadillac when they were about to leave. "That's cute. Legends never die. Sekani & I hit a dead end."

Legends had never died, huh?

That was nice.

But Destiny was in a huge trouble now.

And she knew it.

She had arrived home on time, but when her mother had found out that she had gone Same Difference (the terrorist attack was on the news, as well as the most of the people trying to hide from it too, Destiny and her friends included), she wasn't very happy.

At all.
