22| You Played Yourself, Kiandre, You Played Yourself

DESTINY

No.

No. No. No. No. No.

No!

And a million more noes after that.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Kiandre hissed, literally slamming his hand on the table in frustration. "The heck is wrong with you, Trevor? The heck!"

Trevor & Kazenosuke had just walked into the scene, with Kiandre literally mentioning that he would have freaked out if someone had talked about Destiny one more time.

Obviously, Trevor & Kazenosuke didn't exactly know this, as they weren't exactly there when Kiandre had actually said that, so they couldn't help but be confused as to why Kiandre had seemed so furious about something.

"Jeez, dude. What's going on?" Trevor asked, Kerazin & Sekani making way for him & Kazenosuke on the table. "Why you so dang pissed? Don't make no sense."

And like Kerazin had done when Sekani had told him that Kiandre had rejected Destiny...

...When Kerazin had told Trevor & Kazenosuke that Kiandre had rejected Destiny...

They weren't very happy either.

"You rejected Destiny?!" Kazenosuke fumed, literally shouting at the idiot. "Why would you do that, man? What's wrong with you?"

"Legit what I'm saying, fam!" Kerazin agreed, high fiving Kazenosuke despite their Blackjack fiasco... kinda. "It's totally messed up!"

Was everyone literally just gonna throw shade at the fact that Kiandre rejected Destiny?

It had honestly seemed like it.

And Kiandre had totally hated himself for it.

He just wasn't thinking straight, and the consequences were becoming sort of obvious now.

Because Kiandre didn't just reject Destiny.

He rejected his destiny as well.

And that sucked, it really did.

You played yourself, Kiandre. You played yourself.

Goodness gracious, what if Destiny was actually the perfect future girlfriend for him?

Not that he could have really done anything about that now... because he had stupidly friendzoned her!

Kiandre was beyond annoyed now, but he had honestly set himself up.

He didn't even reply to any of their questions to be honest, just lowkey face desked himself on the table a million times because he was so frustrated.

"For the last time, there was just no spark between us," Kiandre confessed. "Look, I'm tired of talking about Destiny. Can we please change the subject? Kerazin and Kazenosuke, how was your Blackjack match?"

It went OK, except from the fact that Kazenosuke had nearly killed Kerazin.

When Kiandre had heard this, he had kinda condemned Kazenosuke, asking him what he had told him about using his gun in public.

"Kazenosuke, what did I say to you about using your gun in public?"

"You said I shouldn't do it... but you didn't say I shouldn't do it... all the time..."

Kiandre had chosen his friends really wisely (but then again, he didn't really have much of a choice) and even though Kazenosuke was a thug, he was actually pretty genuine and loyal to be honest.

Kiandre & Kazenosuke had made a deal with each other that if they wanted to hang out with each other, Kazenosuke had to be nice to everyone & he couldn't have used his gun on them, let alone send death threats to anyone.

And despite the dude's somewhat terrible personality, he was actually pretty smart. Street smart, book smart... so goodness knew what had made him become a criminal all of a sudden.

Sekani was about to say something but stifled it when someone in the nightclub had announced that there was a fight outside between two thugs and it was seriously getting brutal.

Almost everybody had rushed out after that, besides Kerazin and Kiandre. Destiny & Calista too, although both of them were yet to figure this out.

Approximately 90% of people in the nightclub had immediately rushed out to see the fight (it was very intense), but 10% of people, aka the goody two shoes mainly, had stayed.

"You goin' to see the fight?"

"Nah, man, fights ain't my thing & you know that," Kerazin deadpanned, before turning to Kiandre next. "And I know you said you don't want anyone talkin' about Destiny but what were you thinkin', bro? You rejected her nicely though, right?"

When Kerazin had asked Kiandre what he was thinking, he had tapped the dude's forehead three times as if it was a door or something, but Kiandre fell silent.

He wasn't thinking when he had rejected Destiny, and that was the thing.

But he didn't reject Destiny nicely.

Did he?

Look, Destiny. You're an amazing & sweet girl and all, but I only like you as a friend. Also, you're kind of out of my league... but that's a good thing. You're too good for me.

Is it because we've only had one proper meaningful conversation? As in if maybe we had more meaningful conversations, you would have liked me back?

Not necessarily. Regardless of the amount of quote unquote 'meaningful' conversations we have, I would probably still like you as a friend. No offence though, there's just no spark between us.

Kiandre didn't even know anymore.

And everything that was said above was when Kiandre rejected or friendzoned Destiny & Destiny's response to it.

"Kiandre," Kerazin snapped him out of his daydream again, clicking his right hand in front of the guy to get his attention again. "You OK?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." Kiandre lied helplessly, completely avoiding all of Kerazin's questions because he couldn't really have been bothered to reply to them at all. It wasn't really necessary to. "It's just..."

"It's just what?"

"Why are you cool with me rejecting Destiny? It's just that I kinda thought you were pissed at her and everything when she demanded you for money but you didn't have enough and she yelled at you for it, not knowing that your sister was dying because you didn't tell her."

It was true.

Kerazin was mad at her for that.

He was very mad at her for that.

But it was also his fault for not telling her that his sister was dying, so he couldn't really have blamed Destiny for anything, even if he wanted to.

"Yeah, I was mad at her for that. Screw that, I was furious at her for that, but we're cool now. She helped me out, I helped her out too. Look, Destiny is one of the sweetest girls I know... after my sister. You done screwed up, bro. But if you really want to redeem yourself..."

Kerazin had then put an arm around Kiandre before saying anything else, pointing at Destiny & Calista right opposite them.

"My girl's over there with Calista. Talk to her. Tell her how you feel."

"You've got to be kidding me."

Kerazin smiled widely at that.

He didn't even know why. He was just happy.

"Do you want a second chance?"

"Destiny doesn't give second chances though."

Kerazin just stared at him.

He didn't even say anything.

He just stared.

Hard.

Making Kiandre uncomfortable, after realising what Kerazin was doing anyway.

After a while though, Kiandre had inevitably gotten very uncomfortable with Kerazin's endless staring, and it was even worse because he didn't even know why Kerazin was staring at him so much.

He was just staring.

"I see you're playing the staring game, huh?" Kiandre realised, before rolling his eyes to the sky and groaning. "And fine. I'll talk to her... but how?"

Kerazin didn't say anything much though, he was just checking Destiny out, but not in that way.

"Kerazin?"

"Yeah, Destiny doesn't look very comfortable in those shoes," Kerazin commentated, removing his arm away from Kiandre, before saying anything else to him.

"Like I was saying before, she kinda looks like she wants to take them off or something but she can't, even though there's hardly anyone here now because of the fight outside. Any minute now, she's probably gonna sit down somewhere & take 'em off. You can talk to her then."

Kiandre wanted to know how much he wanted to bet Kerazin on that, with Kerazin saying that he didn't need to bet anything: he just knew.

He was right though.

Soon after, Destiny's shoes were absolutely killing her, so therefore she had decided to take them off completely, before sitting down on the sofa next to both Kiandre and Kerazin as well.

Long story short, Kiandre had mouthed to Kerazin on how he was supposed to talk to Destiny (without her getting suspicious or any other negative feeling), with Kerazin saying that he had had everything under control.

He did.

At first.

Kerazin & Destiny had kept complimenting each other at first (they even hugged each other), before Kerazin had unhelpfully told Destiny that Kiandre wanted to talk to her about something.

"Dude, you can't do that!"

"You two needed a moment, and now I'm giving you one. Bye. Imma go talk to Calista."

Then he was off.

There was an awkward silence between Kiandre & Destiny for a while, because he was seriously thinking about how to talk to her.

How do I talk to the girl I rejected without making a fool of myself?

Easy.

He didn't.

Who had talked to someone that had rejected them? Although some people did. But even then, it was kinda weird to do so.

Gosh. She's so beautiful. That dress goes well with her and everything.

Maybe I can compliment her.

He had to hurry up though, because Destiny had looked like she wanted to leave.

So without thinking, the dude had said the first thing that was on his mind..

Aka:

Hey Destiny. Didn't see you there.

Facepalm times three!

What do you mean you didn't see her there? You knew very well that she was there!! Now she's gonna think you're weird.

Shockingly, Destiny had said hi back to him, but it was a very forced hi.. like she didn't want to talk to him.

She did, on the inside. She had been kinda thinking about Kiandre non stop actually, but Kiandre didn't need to know that- did he?

No.

He didn't.

There was another very awkward silence between them before Destiny confessed that talking to him was weird now because he had rejected her and everything.

"About that. I kinda wanted to talk to you about that actually. If you don't mind."

Destiny didn't know what to say.

Say yes?

No?

I don't know.

"What do you want, Kiandre?"

"A lot of people have been telling me that I had made a mistake rejecting you, and I'm starting to realise they're right, actually. So if you don't mind... I'd like to be your future boyfriend, maybe? Both of us aren't allowed to date right now but we can always wait, right?"

This was what Destiny had always wanted.

But she didn't know what to say to him.

She was kinda desperate to get him back but not desperate enough to forgive him as though nothing had happened between them.

After about twenty seconds silence from Destiny, she had said yes before making a condition with him.

To stop keeping malice with her friends.

"I don't keep malice with them."

"You do, especially Esmeralda. She took that video about you down on Instagram, by the way, because she felt guilty. Unblock us when you get home, all of us and maybe I'll consider it."

Kiandre nodded at that, before there was another silence between them as they had helplessly glanced at each other.

Then it had seemed as though he was leaning in.

Gosh... is he about to kiss me?

No.

No. No. No. No. No.

As much as Destiny had always wanted to kiss Kiandre, now just didn't seem like the right time.

But she didn't want to tell him that... so she had done something worse instead.

Looking around the room to find something near that could have potentially rescued Destiny from the kiss without her actually having to say anything, she had found something useful.

And without thinking... she used it.

She pepper sprayed Kiandre.

Hard.

All over his face.

Just like he deserved.

Goodness knew where the pepper spray was from. Same Difference was a crazy place.

But thank God for it, as Destiny honestly lost without it.

"What the heck, Destiny?! Why did you just pepper spray me?!"

"Why would you do something like that, Destiny?"

But Destiny didn't reply to either Kiandre or Kerazin's questions- she had dashed out of the room, Calista calling her name many times but she didn't listen.

She wanted to go home.

Now.

With a capital N.
