Inuyasha and Tomoe POV

"Did you say newborn granddaughter? As in a baby?" The shocked fox felt embarrassed, the half demon shaking with laughter didn't help.

"You, are one lucky Kitsune Tomoe." Inuyasha was still uncontrollably laughing at the thought of such a high acting yokai falling romantically in love with a little baby girl.

"Shut up hanyou" the fox scoffed. He looked back at the woman who was still there. "We are not sure it's your granddaughter we are looking for but could you tell us what she looks like?" The information might be useful to know once he got back to Nanami, to see if it was the person she was talking about. Anything to get her to leave the house of the 'dangerous' white haired half demon.

The woman's eyes slightly softened, " She has beautiful brown hair and brown eyes that already hold a certain strictness to them. Her skin is pale and fair, her hands small and adorable. Overall she is a beautiful little baby girl" the look disappeared from the woman's eyes as she focused on the men again." Why would you care about this? Why would anyone from Toshima interest you?" She looked at them anxiously and waited for a reply.

"In no way, at all not yet but Toshima.... Is that where your from? The name of your village?" Tomoe tried getting as much information, though he didn't know why at that point, he didn't care right? But he felt like he had to....

"Yes, a very small village that holds no interest to anyone else. Now if it isn't my granddaughter your looking for then I have to go." The woman just turned and walked away. Internally relieved she had gotten that over with, after hearing Yukiji she had to know who they were talking about since it wasn't a very common name. 'A unique name for a unique girl' the old women thought to herself smiling.

"Did you get all the information you needed about your little mate, fox?" Inuyasha would never get over that and wouldn't let Tomoe forget either.

"Shut up you Inu. Let's just go back, I hate for something to happen to Nanami just because I wasn't there." Tomoe huffed looking down on Inuyasha for a second before walking towards where he remembered the house was. Inuyasha just rolled his eyes, the sooner they left the better.

Together yet separately the began zigzagging through the villagers making their way back to the women who were currently being attacked.

Kagome and Nanami POV

Nanami and Kagome ran as fast as they could as if their lives depended on it because it kinda..... well..... did. Nanami still struggled to keep up with the priestess' longer stride and as the seconds flew by she grew more and more tired falling farther and farther behind. Turning again to see how far the demon was, she didn't see a rock in her way and tripped😒. In shock, she just lay there for a couple seconds when realization hit her. She was sprawled on the floor, not trying to get up, no weapons, no way to defend herself at all, and a 20ft demon was coming to charge at her only a couple of meters away. What did she do? Pft. The most logical thing. She screamed.

Kagome turned to look back at the person who'd screamed (aka the brilliant Nanami). She started running back when she noticed how much she was in danger. Reaching her in a couple of seconds she grabbed her bow and arrow with hand and Nanami's arm in the other. She pulled the kamisama up and slightly pushed her towards the first they'd been running towards.

"Find somewhere to hide and I'll find you later. Now just GO!" The strictness in Kagome's yell, and the charging demon, left for no argument and the God just zipped off towards the forest.

Kagome turned back to the demon and began firing arrows at him to buy Nanami some time. How she was gonna escape..... she didn't know but right now she just wanted Nanami safe. The demon was an ugly green with horns sticking out of the side of his head and coming out of the sides of his mouth. His eyes were and even darker milky green with no irises or pupil, just sclera. He wore a helmet of steel, which meant no hitting him there, but elsewhere was covered in clothes made from rags that expelled a putrid smell.

"Puny mortal! Do you really think such weak sacred arrows can stop me?" He advanced forward but a little slower than before, Kagome's arrows holding him back. His comment made Kagome mad, how dare he call her weak!? Sure she isn't as strong as Kikyo or Kaede but she wasn't that pathetic. Kagome's arrow stash became notably smaller until she only had about five. Her arrows, despite the spiritual power she put in them, bounced harmlessly off his clothes which was where she was aiming, right to the heart. Too late, she realized that the rags he wore as clothes must've had something, a potion or spell, against spiritual power which kinda explained the smell. Kagome started to dodge his attacks, since it was the only option left.

'If he has clothes against my power than he must've been preparing to attack us and knew of what I could do to him. Wait! He-he doesn't have a demonic aura! I-I can't sense him! Is that why I saw him only when he came towards Nanami and me?' Kagome cursed herself in her thoughts. How could she have been so careless?! Spending time with Nanami made her feel like she was back in her time, with no dangers. It totally slipped her mind that a monstrous demon could come and attack them like it could happen any other day in the feudal era. Consumed by her thoughts she missed one of the attacks and was thrown across the field with a great force.

A sticky colorful liquid came from a deep wound on her right shoulder that set her whole arm on fire. The hard landing and rocks she landed on didn't help the matter. She tried standing back up but the applied force on her shoulder wmade it open up more. She collapsed on the ground, luckily on her unhurt side, and moaned. Dark circles dotted her vision which was becoming darker and darker. 'The....demon.....must've......used......a poison......of some......sort....' were her last thoughts before the world finally became dark.

Tomoe and Inuyasha POV
Ps. I just realized Inuyasha's blushing in the picture above 😊

"So, I've been thinking," Tomoe tried to at least start a conversation, it had been a long time and he was bored.

"You're thinking? It's a miracle!" Gasped Inuyasha in fake shock.

"Watch it dog. But if your a half demon then was it your mother or father who..."

"My old man was a demon and my mom a human, but their both dead now." Inuyasha already knew what he was gonna ask, for 200 years that's the question most people asked. Even as heartless (😉) as Tomoe might seem, even he heard the sadness behind those words.

"Okay.... what do you think you'd father would say of you loving a human woman?" Secretly, Tomoe wanted more answers to his questions about his feelings for Nanami.

"Everyone who knew my old man said he was a fearless warrior and lord of the west. My mother used to say he was always kind to her and treated her nicely unlike other demons and yokai," he glanced at Tomoe out of the corner of his eye to see how he would react. When nothing happened he continued," judging by how much he cared for my mom I'm guessing he'd be ok with my feeling for Kagome." Realizing what he'd just said he put up the wall he'd temporarily taken down,"but what's it to ya anyways huh? You probably think I'm stupid. I don't even know why I told you!" The last part was too true. Maybe this is what Kagome meant that, she felt they could trust them.

Inuyasha waited for a snarky reply back but received none. When he looked back at Tomoe, the fox was in deep thought. The expression he wore was familiar to Inuyasha, mostly because he'd worn the same one after Kikyo came back to life and he started to care for Kagome as more than a traveling companion. He thought back to how he'd seen Tomoe treat Nanami and their attitudes towards each other. The rudeness and indifference in Tomoe behavior was exactly how he'd acted with Kagome at first. What he realized struck him so hard and fast it made him feel stupid. How did he not realize it before? Tomoe liked Nanami! And the feeling was obviously mutual.😏

Inuyasha opened his mouth to ask him about this when to things happened at once. The scent of Kagome's blood reached his nose and they both heard a desperate, blood curling scream.

Kagome and Nanami POV (mostly Nanami since Kagome, ya know...... fainted)

A little earlier...

Nanami's heart froze when she realized Kagome was about to get hit. Before she could shout a warning, Kagome flew threw the air landing about five meters from where she hid on what looked like rocks. A red stain appeared on her shoulder and quickly spread faster and faster after she attempted getting up. A moment later, the miko's body went limp as the pain (and poison) overtook her. Nanami braved a quick look to the demon who was staring straight at her. Since he knew she was vulnerable and afraid he took his sweet time walking over to her.

Nanami looked back to Kagome who was pale but breathing. She ran towards her, the demon making no change in his speed. Quickly checking her pockets she tried to see if anything she had would help with Kagome's wound. All she had were her talismans, pencil, and a couple of herbs she'd kept with her. She instinctively took the talismans though looking back at the demon she knew they would be futile against him. Her suspicions were confirmed when the demon shook with laughter, "You think those pieces of paper will stop me little God? The priestess has more power than you and look at what happened to her! Hahahahahaha! After I kill you both and eat your flesh I shall become God!" The demon kept roaring with laughter.

Nanami cursed under her breath. How could she have forgotten her mark? When they'd traveled she'd never thought she would leave Tomoe's side so she didn't try to hide it, but look at what had happened now. She was on the verge of panicking when she got an idea. Quickly writing air on two talismans she stuck one on herself and opanother on Kagome so the both 'disappeared'. When the demon looked back at them, they were gone and he couldn't see them anywhere.

"Trying to hide huh? Won't do you any good, I'll still find you." He began stomping around trying to find them by grabbing at random places  which was a relief to Nanami since he was looking in the wrong places. Looking back at the herbs she tried to recall what Kagome had taught her.

"What should I do? What should I do!?" She frantically muttered und her her breath then it came to her,"Bai Mao Gen! (That's a real plant guys)Kagome said this would stop any bleeding! But how should I apply it? We don't have water or some way to ground this into powder."😰😰😰It seemed whenever she solved one problem three more took its place.

"Oh I wouldn't bother about that, found you!" said a low voice behind her. Two ugly, green, evil eyes stared back at her, the talismans had blown away and in her panicked state she hadn't noticed.

'Tomoe's right, I can't do anything right...."

Right after that Nanami screamed as loud as she could when the demon lifted her and Kagome in the air.

Inuyasha and Tomoe POV

Inuyasha and Tomoe ran as fast as they could towards the sound of the desperate cry. A fire ignited within Inuyasha when he saw Kagome, still carrying her sheath, in the hands of a filthy demon. Not only that, but his beloved wife was unconscious, with blood coming out of a deep gash on her shoulder. Even from the ground he could tell her skin was pale and breathing labored. Inuyasha immediately took tessaiga out of its sheath.

"Put her down you filthy demon!" He was enraged and furious, no one hurt Kagome and got away with it.

N o   O n e.

On his other hand was Nanami with Kagome's bow which she'd managed to grab before being lifted. The God was squirming and kicking like there was no tomorrow trying to get free. Obviously, she failed.

Inuyasha was about to attack when Tomoe beat him. The fox ran straight forward shooting blue fireballs at the demon's clothes same as Kagome. Equally as angry as Inuyasha, it was hard for him to contain his strength and follow the quick plan he had in mind. When Inuyasha tried to help him he yelled at him to stop.

"I have a plan! Just trust me." He went back to attacking the demon. Meanwhile Inuyasha didn't know what to do. Should he actually trip it's the yokai that had kidnapped Kagome? Inuyasha had no reason to trust him yet strangely, he did.

"Tomoe! Try to hurry please! Kagome needs help!" Nanami pleaded The attacks were getting them nowhere and Kagome was looking really bad at that point. When she perceived that Tomoe was doing the same thing as Kagome, a hard kick from the demon towards Tomoe that sent him flying just like Kagome stopped any chance at him rescuing them right there,. Before Nanami spoke someone beat her to it.

"Hahahahahhahah! Becoming a God and getting revenge for an old grudge? How could be better than this!? Don't worry familiar, if you want you can keep your job as my shinshi! Hahahahahahahahah!" His laughter was diabolical as he started to retreat with bother girls in his hands. Inuyasha began running towards Kagome trying to reach her desperately but he was too far.

It was too late.

"Kagoooooommmmmmeeeeee!!!!!!!"

Ya know, you all probably hate me and all but because of what I did, but I'm so glad people like this book!
