I'm soooooooo sorry this is late! Things where happening in my life and let's just say someone important to me had a stroke.😭😭😭On another note.... I don't really like the title for this one, Its not really what the chapter's about but it is about something I'm gonna write so I'll leave it . In the beginning, the way I'd pictured it, the story would be over by now buuuuuuut oh well! It's about quality not quantity am I right? Anyways.... enjoy!

Nuetral POV
The next day everyone, except Nanami, woke up when the sun was barely up in the sky to get an early start in the day. While Inuyasha and Kagome had planned to spend the day alone and together, there was an obvious change in plan...

Inuyasha POV

"I'm sorry Inuyasha but you know we can't spend the day together, not with them here." Kagome said quietly but sternly, she didn't want to wake up Nanami.

"But Kagome!!!!!" Inuyasha whined in a childish voice,"you promised! You never break your promises." The half-demon put on his puppy 🐶 face that he only reserved for times of urgency. There were only two people he'd ever used his puppy face with, Kagome and his mother Izayoi. Not even Kikyo got to see it, they just didn't have that kind of relationship. Kagome bit her lip trying to find a way out of the situation, Inuyasha knew she couldn't resist his puppy face.

"I'm not breaking my promise, just..... postponing it!" Kagome turned back to the house work she was doing triumphantly, "I'm  just postponing it until after they leave so, if you want to spend time together so badly go and ask if anyone knows about someone named Yukiji. I would tell you to ask Tomoe to go but he's already left."

Inuyasha was annoyed at Kagome's good points. The sooner the two guests knew where to go, the sooner they'd leave, the sooner he could be with Kagome!

"I guess since I have nothing else to do I could go to the village." Inuyasha suggested feigning indifference, as if it had been his idea.

"Gee, where did ya get that idea from? Anyways go, it'll keep you from moping around the house." She gave him a slight push so he could get going.

"Moping!? I'm not moping!" Inuyasha started walking away, arms crossed scowl on face, in direction of the village.

"Inuyasha," Kagome called out,"Don't go too long okay?" The slight worry in her eyes made Inuyasha's soften (his eyes). Just before he was out of eyesight he turned back to Kagome and gave her that mischievous smile that meant he was up to something.

"Don't worry Kagome, I'll be back before noon so when the fox,"

"Tomoe,"

"Same difference. Anyways when he comes back, tell him to start packing!" He turned around and kept walking, the early morning shadows darkening his figure till he was gone. Kagome sighed and rolled her eyes at his childishness. Sometimes Inuyasha reminded her just a little bit of Sota.

'Sota......' By instinct, Kahpgome looked towards the direction of the well. She never thought she'd say this, but she missed her little brother so much.'I know I told Inuyasha I don't regret coming here and I don't , but I wish I could see my family again.' The longing was so deep she felt her heart ache.

Nanami and Kagome POV

"Kagome? Wherez everyone?" A sleepy Nanami poked her head out from inside the house, still sleepy her words slurred a little bit.

"They went to go see if anyone's heard of the person your trying to find."

"What about us? I want to help too!" Tomoe's comment of her being useless and not able to help herself were fresh on her mind.

"I stayed so you wouldn't wake up alone. Now that your up, you can help me gather herbs!"

Nanami took a quick peek in the kitchen which was already adorned with many colorful different plants.

"What about all the plants in the kitchen? It looks like you already have a lot." All Nanami really wanted to do was search for Yukiji. The sooner they found her the sooner she got to prove Tomoe wrong.

"Some herbs grow wild and can only be found in the fields. The ones I want to collect are for the villagers, every week I go with Kaede, the current village priestess, help those who are sick and can't take care of themselves. Even though I have today free from that responsibility, since I have nothing else to do I might as well get ready for next week. So do you want to come help me?" Kagome didn't really want to leave Nanami alone, easy prey for demons, so she really hoped her invitation would be accepted.

"Sure!" Nanami saw the task of helping Kagome in a new light, it was a Kamisama's job to help others right? "But I don't think I'll be able to help very much." Nanami poked the ground with her shoe, what did she know about medicinal herbs?

"Don't worry I'll help you." Kagome said enthusiastically, she was kinda excited she would get to teach the little she knew to someone else.

Inuyasha (as in the half-demon we know and love) and Tomoe POV

Inuyasha' sears flickered in frustration. He'd asked and asked yet no one seemed to know anyone named Yukiji. About an hour had passed in which many times he'd almost given up, only to remember Kagome saying that as soon as they were really alone they could spend time together.

He asked a couple of more villagers who stated they'd never heard of anyone with the name Yukiji when he spotted a white-short haired head in the crowd. Making his way over he found no other than Tomoe, or as Inuyasha preferred to call him, the lazy white fox. When he got a couple of steps away, he stopped to let them finish the conversation taking place.

"I told you, no one I know has that name! You're the second person today to ask me so if you'll excuse me I have to work." the villager Tomoe had been talking to hurried forward to escape before anyone tried to talk to him again.

"I guess your not having luck either?" Tomoe turned to face Inuyasha who was now leaning against a house watching the villager he'd talked to earlier disappear in the crowd.

"Ugh, its you." Tomoe sneered in disgust.

"Glad to see you too. Who is this Yukiji person anyways? It really seems like Nanami's sure she lives here, except no one knows her." The hanyou asked walking a few steps closer infront of Tomoe.

"Don't refer to Nanami so casually, she is a Kamisama and you a half-demon. I don't know who Yukiji is only that Nanami says I loved her at some point in my life. Happy?" As you could see, Tomoe was not in a good mood. When he woke up he realized that the fastest way to leave was to find Yukiji so Nanami would be happy. Leaving early in the morning, he his his tail and ears using his magical leaves then went to the village and started asking people about Yukiji without success. Now, someone beneath him spoke to him on an equal level. Not the kind of day Tomoe had planned.

"Okay, first quit it with the lowly half demon stuff, surely a high and mighty yokai like yourself can act better than that. Second, why would you agree to look for someone you don't even know?" It had been a while since someone had looked down upon Inuyasha and he'd just about forgotten how irritated it made him feel.

"I didn't agree, I was forced to!" Tomoe's voice was rising as he got slightly angry.

"What da ya mean forced to?"

Just when Tomoe was gonna reply, an older woman stoped forward, trembling slightly at the angry aura that surrounded both men. She walked forward slowly, her feeble hands grasped tightly together white from how hard she held them, but yet despite the obvious demonstrations of fear, an aura of great determination and confidence surrounded her.

"Excuse me but, I heard you were looking for someone named Yukiji." The woman's hard dark brown eyes met Inuyasha's as she continued," I wanted to know what a half -demon and young man would want with my newborn granddaughter."

Kagome and Nanami POV

It had been just about an hour and Nanami had learned many things from Kagome. Not only about the green plants that covered Japan, but how to take your work seriously but have a good time while yo do it. They'd have contest to see who could find the most of something then see who could sort out the plants gathered the best. While this might sound boring, it was actually fun. After a while they decided to rest and sit down under the shade for a while.

"So Nanami, who exactly is Yukiji?" Kagome had been dying to ask, but kept wondering if she should. If Nanami wanted her to know she would have said something by now right? Still, curiosity had won and now the question was asked.

"Well she..." Nanami hesitated, she knew she could trust Kagome but wasn't exactly comfortable talking about this. 'What am I thinking? Kagome told me about Kikyo, I should tell her about Yukiji'  Kagome sensed the girl's hesitation and immediately felt bad for putting her in the spot.

"You don't have to tell me, I'm sorry it's just I was wondering why you would go through so much trouble to find her."

"No it's okay!" Nanami felt bad making Kagome think she didn't want to share,"To make a long story short, Yukiji was Tomoe's love during the feudal era. The first time I travelled back in time, my spirit was in her body, please don't ask about that, anyways when I came back to normal time I asked Tomoe about her. He said he'd never met her in his life and kept denying his love for her and any other mortal woman. So, I traveled back in time with him to prove he once did love a human woman." The words tumbled out in a rush leaving Nanami breathless and blushing, she'd never opened up to anyone like that. Meanwhile Kagome looked thoughtfully at a flower she had picked.

"I see... My only question is, why are you going through so much trouble to prove him wrong?" Kagome looked back at Nanami when she asked her question. The high school girl just sat there wordlessly thinking.'Why am I going through all this to prove him wrong?'

"I guess it just makes me really angry that Tomoe takes love so casually and doesn't think much of it." Nanami played with the grass hoping Kagome would believe her.

"What I think your trying to do is show Tomoe he loved a human, so he might love another human. Such as yourself." The simplicity in Kagome's tone shocked Nanami more than it should've. The Miko had seen straight through Nanami. Just as she was about to object, Kagome's eyes widened in alarm and fear as she pulled Nanami up to her feet and yelled at her to run.

"But the basket?" Nanami reached for it but Kagome pulled her what an amazing strength.

"Not important right now just run!" She let go of Nanami and got an arrow loaded on the bow she'd brought with her.

Nanami did as she was told in confusion. She struggled to keep up with the priestess as she tried to ask her what was going on. Before she got the chance to, she heard a roar behind them as a 20 foot tall demon ran after them.

This story is taking a different turn than I thought it would.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔Hmmmm should I still put in that kidnapping scene? Jk 😋😈 anyways, I'm probably gonna update once a week now either Friday or Saturday maybe earlier. Ya know what? Writing this story made me feel a little better! Not so... sad and depressed.😌
