Chapter 15
Sam & Cat & the Haunted Thundermans: The Dark Twister
Chapter Fifteen: We Need To Get Help!
Taylor Hathaway POV
"PHOEBE!!!" Sam, Cat, Dice, Goomer, Nona, Mom, Frankie, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Billy, Nora, and I cried, as we watched my friend get carried away by the huge tornado.
The tornado then started to backtrack, as it headed back towards The Dolphin Swimming Center. It started to pick up speed as we desperately tried to chase it. We sprinted towards the tornado, as it caused even more damage, as it made it's way through The Dolphin Swimming Center Gift Shop. We continued to chase the tornado, until it reached the ocean. We watched it rip up the dock, as it slowly became a water spout.
"THAT'S IT!!!" Mr. Thunderman shouted, "I DON'T CARE IF I GET EXPOSED; I'M GOING TO SAVE MY LITTLE GIRL!!!"
We all watched Mr. Thunderman with fear, as he quickly flew into the water spout that was heading further out into the ocean. We watched Mr. Thunderman spin around, as the water spout caught a hold of him. Finally, the water spout spat him out, causing him to get flung in our direction. We all ran in Mr. Thunderman's direction, so that we could catch him before he could hit the ground. As soon as Mr. Thunderman was finally close enough to us, we all grabbed him and gently set him down on the sand on his feet.
"HANK, ARE YOU OK!?!?" Mrs. Thunderman asked, as she rushed over to her husband.
"Yeah, I'm fine; I'm just a little dizzy," he answered, "Did anybody see me?"
We all looked around for a moment, making sure that nobody had watched Mr. Thunderman fly into the water spout.
"No, I don't think so," Nona answered, "The only ones who saw you fly into the water spout was us."
"Thank goodness," Mr. Thunderman sighed out of relief.
"Wait, how are you not torn to shreds!?!?" I asked.
"Well, one of my superpowers is that I'm super durable, meaning that I don't get harmed easily."
"Oh, that makes sense."
"DID YOU SEE MAX IN THERE!?!?" Mrs. Thunderman asked her husband, "BECAUSE I THINK THAT HE GOT TAKEN AWAY BY THE TORNADO!!!"
"DID I SEE MAX? BARB, I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING BUT WATER, WHILE I WAS IN THAT WATER SPOUT!!!"
"Well, it is called a water spout," Goomer stated as he shrugged.
"Well, maybe we should go back in the gift shop once last time," Sam suggested, "He could of got trampled and maybe he's lying on the floor, unconscious!"
"Yeah, good thinking, Sam!" Frankie complimented her.
We then sprinted towards The Gift Shop in search for Max.
The gift shop was a mess. There was shards of broken glass, stuffing, ripped shirts, dirt scattered all over the floor. All of the shelves were either knocked over, or destroyed. We then began to make the gift shop even messier, by throwing everything that we came upon to the side. I began to throw any clothes that I found scattered all over the floor to the side, making sure that they weren't hiding Max from us. When I didn't find him, I began to look under any shelves that were knocked over. Just as I was about to give up, I noticed that the counter, where the cash register was, was flipped over and was laying on top of something. I squinted at the counter; it was too far away for me too see what was underneath it. I then rushed over to the counter, only to find out that it was only lying on top of the cash register and all of the money that flew out of it.
"DID YOU GUYS FIND HIM YET!?!?" I asked.
"No, but I'll keep on-" Sam began, as she peeked her head over one of the knocked over shelves, "Ooh, free money!!!"
Just as Sam began to sprint towards the money that was all scattered underneath the counter, I saw somebody's arm reach out from behind one of the shelves and grabbed her by the ankle, causing her to trip and fall on her stomach. Sam then rolled over to see who had grabbed her ankle.
"CAT!!!" Sam yelled, getting furious, "LET GO OF MY ANKLE!!!"
"I WILL, IF YOU DON'T STEAL ANY MONEY!!!" Cat replied.
Sam just rolled her eyes. "Cat, I wasn't going to steal any money! I was just going to examine the dollar bills from the other countries!"
"Well, alright," Cat replied, as she released Sam's ankle.
Sam then sprinted towards the counter to examine the foreign money. She then crouched down to pick up all of the money off the floor. Since I was curious to see what the foreign money looked like to, I crouched down next to Sam to look at the money with her.
"Look, Sam! Australia's dollars aren't all of the same color!" I exclaimed, as I pointed towards the few Australian dollars that Sam had picked up off the floor.
"Oh yeah, they're all different colors!" Sam replied.
"Sam, Taylor, this is no time to be looking at Australian money!" Nora told us, "Right now we have to look for Max!"
"Right," Sam and I agreed, as we put the money down and stood up.
"Sorry, we just got distracted by the cool foreign money," I apologized.
"It's ok, just keep on looking," Nora told us, "At this point, I really don't know where he could be."
"Yeah, me neither," Nona, Goomer, Sam, Cat, Dice, Mom, Frankie, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Billy, and I agreed.
"I already told you guys that he got taken away by the tornado!" I heard Ms. Thunderman exclaim.
"And how do you know that, Barb?" I heard Mr. Thunderman ask.
"Well, for one, he's nowhere to be found. For two, we were being chased by a tornado when we lost him. And for three, if he got trampled back there, there's no way he could be here! I mean, just look at this place; it's a wreck! It must of hit every square inch of this gift shop! It had to take him!"
"Barb, you do realize that it wasn't just the tornado that wrecked this place; we wrecked it too."
"Yeah, but it was completely wrecked before we came in here to look for Max!"
"Yeah, that is true."
"WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO, HANK!?!? BOTH PHOEBE AND MAX HAVE BEEN TAKEN INTO THE OCEAN BY A HUGE TORNADO AND WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE THEY ARE, OR IF THEY'RE DEAD OR ALIVE!!!"
"I don't know Barb, but some how I feel like this is some what my fault."
"Don't ever say that, Hank!" Ms. Hathaway exclaimed, "You didn't know that this was going to happen! How is it your fault!?!?"
"Well, if I would of just stuck with my original punishment, Max would of never came here, meaning that he would of never got taken away by that awful tornado!"
"But, what about Phoebe!?!? She didn't get in trouble! If Max would of never came with us, she still would of got taken away by that tornado! It could of been any of us, not just Phoebe and Max. Look, nature is nature and we cannot control it, but we can predict it. But, we can't predict what's going to happen exactly. The path of a tornado is unpredictable. It's nobody's fault!"
"I guess you're right. The real reason that Phoebe and Max are gone is because we were dumb enough to make plans to go swimming with dolphins in the first place!"
"Aww, now I feel bad," Goomer pouted, as he put his head down.
"Aww, Goomer, don't feel bad. It wasn't your fault!" Dice assured his friend.
"Yes it was! It was my idea to go swimming with the dolphins!"
"Goomer, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I'm sorry," Mr. Thunderman apologized, "I'm just really upset right now because my own two children just got taken away by a huge tornado and I couldn't save them, and now they're gone!"
"It's ok; I'm upset about that too."
"Yeah, nobody should be feeling bad about themselves right now," Nona told us, "It was none of our faults! We didn't know that this was going to happen. Instead of blaming ourselves, why don't we start thinking of ways that we can save Max and Phoebe, like the smart people we are!"
"Yeah, we should," Billy agreed, "Where do you guys think that the tornado took them?"
"None of us know where they are, Billy!" Nora answered, "Heck, we don't even know if they're alive or not! Most likely, they got torn to shreds, due to the strong winds of that tornado!"
Billy gasped out of shock.
"Nora, don't say that!" Cat cried, "We have to stay calm!"
"Stay calm!?!?" Frankie repeated, "Phoebe and Max just got carried out into the ocean by a huge tornado! How the heck do you stay calm in a situation like this!?!?"
Cat though for a moment. "I don't know, but we need to stay calm, so that we can think more clearly and think of places where they could possibly be."
"Yeah, Cat's right!" I agreed, "Just stay calm and think, everybody! Maybe some good ideas will pop into our heads. Take in some deep breaths and think!"
"Ok," Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Billy, Nora, Mom, Frankie, Nona, Goomer, Sam, Cat, and Dice replied.
We then all closed our eyes and took in some deep breaths, as we began to think of where the tornado could of taken Phoebe and Max.
About five minutes later, I heard Cat shriek. Nona, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Mom, Goomer, Sam, Dice, Billy, Frankie, Nora, and I all opened our eyes to see why Cat had screamed so loudly. Cat then sat down on the floor and buried her face in her knees.
"NO! THAT'S THE WORST POSSIBLE THING THAT COULD OF HAPPENED TO THEM!!!" She screamed, "STOP THINKING SO NEGATIVE, CAT!!!"
We immediately rushed over to Cat, who was obviously having a nervous breakdown.
"Cat, what the heck made you scream so loud!?!?" Sam asked Cat, seeming a bit annoyed, "I swear that you almost pierced a hole through my eardrums!"
"It's too horrible to speak of," Cat whispered, as she began to shake, "It's an awful thought."
"What is it? Do you have an idea of where Phoebe and Max might be?"
"Yes, but it's so awful. I don't want to tell you guys what it is; I don't want you guys to be thinking negatively too."
"Cat, you need to tell us where you think that they might be because they might actually be there!" Nona told Cat.
"Yeah, you should listen to your grandmother, Cat," Mrs. Thunderman stated.
"We promise that we'll try to stay as calm as we can!" Billy told Cat.
With that being said, Cat stopped shaking and she looked up at us, "Ok. You guys promise that you'll stay calm?"
We all nodded.
"Ok, here it goes. What if the tornado threw Phoebe and Max into the ocean and they drowned!?!?"
We all gasped at Cat's prediction.
"OH MY GOD!!! WE NEED TO GET IN THAT OCEAN RIGTH NOW!!! I mean, you might be right, Cat. We should get some goggles and go look for them," Mr. Thunderman corrected himself.
"Yeah, we should," Sam, Cat, Billy, Nora, Frankie, Goomer, Dice, Mrs. Thunderman, Mom, Nona, and I agreed.
"Start searching the store for goggles!" Mr. Thunderman ordered, "If we can't find any, or if we can't find enough, prepare to have your eyes stung!"
We all nodded as we got down on our hands and knees, searching for any goggles that are on the floor.
After a couple minutes of searching, I heard Billy shout across the room, "I FOUND SOME!!!"
"GOOD!!!" Mr. Thunderman replied, "HOW MANY DID YOU FIND!?!?"
There was a short moment of silence. Even though that I couldn't see him, I could tell that Billy had stopped to count all of the goggles that he had found.
"FIVE!!!" Billy finally answered.
"FIVE!?!?" Mr. Thunderman asked, making sure that he had heard his son correctly.
"YEAH, FIVE!!!"
"OK!!! FIVE DOWN, SEVEN TO GO!!!"
We all nodded as we continued to search for more goggles.
"HEY, I FOUND THREE MORE- OHH HERE'S ANOTHER ONE!!!" I heard Cat shout across the room, "MAKE THAT FOUR!!!"
"FOUR!?!? THAT MEANS THAT WE ONLY HAVE TO FIND THREE MORE AND WE'RE GOOD!!!" Sam shouted across the room.
"YEAH!!!" Cat agreed, as we continued to search for the last three goggles that we needed.
Just as I was about to give up and offer to be one of the ones who would have to swim in the ocean with their eyes open, I stumbled upon a huge metal rack that was knocked over. Even though I was ten away from the rack, I could tell that it was laying on top a couple of things; I just couldn't tell what it was laying on.
"Hey, didn't I find a bunch of snorkel masks under there, the last time that I checked?" I thought to myself.
I immediately sprinted over to the rack and lifted it up just enough, so that I could see what was underneath of it. I was correct; under the rack, was about twenty snorkel masks.
"FORGET GOGGLES, WE'RE GOING SNORKELING!!!" I announced.
"But, Taylor, there's no time to go snorkeling!" Billy told me, "We have to go look for Max and Phoebe in the ocean, once we find more goggles."
"Billy, you know what Taylor meant!" Nora shouted at Billy.
"No, I didn't."
Nora groaned. "She meant that she found a bunch of snorkel masks!"
"TAYLOR, YOU FOUND SNORKEL MASKS!?!?" Mrs. Thunderman asked me.
"YEA, I DID!!!" I replied.
"THAT'S GREAT!!! SNORKEL MASKS WILL WORK MUCH BETTER THAN GOGGLES!!! HOW MANY DID YOU FIND!?!?"
"ABOUT TWENTY!!!"
"ALRIGHT, WE CAN USE THEM INSTEAD OF THE GOGGLES THEN!!!"
"OK!!!" Everybody replied, as they ran up to me to grab a snorkel mask.
As soon as everybody had a snorkel mask, we began to help each other put them on.
"Ok, is everybody ready?" I asked, once I had finally gotten my purple snorkel mask on.
Everybody nodded.
"Alright, let's go look for Phoebe and Max," I announced, as we headed towards the destroyed beach.
"Wait a minute, we can't just leave!" Cat told us.
We all stopped and turned around to look at Cat.
"Whatdya mean that we can't just leave, Cat!?!?" Sam asked, "Phoebe and Max are in trouble and we need to go look for them!"
"Yeah, but how much did each of our snorkel masks cost?"
"Cat, this is an emergency! We don't have any time to pay for our snorkel masks!"
Cat gasped. "But, that's stealing!"
"Cat, I hate that we're stealing snorkel masks too, but we aren't doing it because we're bad people. We're doing it because we're good people and it's our only option," I stated.
"Say whatever you guys want, but I'm still not stealing. I'll just catch up with you guys in the ocean. I'm going to go get my money from my beach bag that I left on the lounge chairs out there."
"Cat, all of our money that we brought with us was blown away by that tornado," Nona stated.
Cat gasped. "Then how are we going to pay for the snorkel masks?"
"We're not gonna!" Frankie answered.
Cat then turned towards Mr. and Mr. Thunderman. "Can you guys please call Dr. Colosso and ask him if he'll bring us some money?"
Nora, Sam, Frankie, Billy, Dice, and I began to laugh at Cat hysterically.
"W-what's so funny!?!?" Cat asked us.
Sam got a couple more laughs out before answering Cat. "Dude, Dr. Colosso is not going to come all the way here and give us money!"
"What!?!? But why!?!?"
"First of all, all of our phones got destroyed, even The Dolphin Swimming Center's phones. Second of all, people are going to wonder why there's a rabbit running down the street with a load of money. Third of all, since he's so small he could get robbed easily. Fourth of all, it's too far of a distance for him to hop. And fifth of all, Dr. Colosso doesn't even know how to get to The Dolphin Swimming Center and neither do we!"
Cat lowered her head. "So, I'm guessing that he have to steal then..."
"Yeah, but if it makes you feel any better, we can put them back as soon as we're done using them!"
Cat immediately raised her head back up. "Kk!"
With that being said, we were off to go look for Phoebe and Max in the ocean.
"How deep are we going to have to go?" Billy asked, as we stepped into the water.
"I don't know," Mr. Thunderman replied, "Pretty far."
"How far?"
Mr. Thunderman thought for a moment. "As far as we can go."
"And how deep are we going to have to go?"
Mr. Thunderman thought for a moment. "As deep as we can go."
"And how deep is that?"
"Probably about eight-to-ten feet."
"Eight to ten feet!?!? I'm not tall enough to go that far!"
Mr. Thunderman laughed. "None of us are, Billy! That's why we're going to swim all the way out there!"
"But, what if we get tired and drown!?!?"
"Aaaggghh!!! Stop it, Billy!" Cat ordered, as she held her head with both of her hands, "You're filling up my head with bad thoughts!"
"Sorry!"
"It's ok. I just don't want any of us to make things worse by panicking!"
"Hey, how come we didn't grab any life jackets!?!?" Dice asked us.
"Because they're weren't any!" Sam replied.
"And how do you know that?"
"Because I didn't see any when we were searching for Max and goggles!"
"Yeah, me neither," Frankie, Mom, Cat, Goomer, Nona, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Nora, Billy, and I agreed.
"If you guys are really worried about drowning, then just use float on top of a pice of driftwood, instead of using a lifejacket!" Mom told, us as she grabbed the piece of driftwood that was the closest to her and pulled it over towards us.
"Good thinking, Mom!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, way to stay positive!" Cat complimented Mom.
"Thanks, girls!" Mom thanked us, "I really do try!"
As soon as I was deep enough into the ocean, I put my mouth piece in my mouth, then went under. So that no water would get into my mouth piece, I had to stay almost right on top of the water. Thank goodness that this beach doesn't have any waves, or else we would all have to wear regular goggles. I looked at the beautiful sea floor beneath me. It was filled with coral of all different colors, green seaweed, and all different types of fish swimming around them. No Phoebe. No Max. I then put my head above the water.
"DID ANY OF YOU GUYS FIND PHOEBE OR MAX YET!?!?" I asked.
"NO!!!" The people who had heard me answered.
"YEAH, ME NEITHER, BUT I'M GOING TO KEEP ON LOOKING!!!"
"YEAH, ME TOO!!!" The people who had heard me agreed.
I then put my head back under water and continued to search for Max and Phoebe. I began to push myself forward against the ocean with my palms and feet, so that I could swim out into the deeper areas of the ocean. After about five minutes of swimming forward, I decided that I had swam out far enough. I then put my head above the water. As soon as I tried to put my feet back down on the ocean, my head immediately went back under water. I could no longer touch the bottom of the ocean. Luckily, no water had entered my mouth piece because I had swam back up just in time. I quickly swam to the nearest piece of driftwood that was torn off the dock and grabbed onto it. The piece of driftwood that I had grabbed was a nice size. It was about as long as the distance from my stomach to the top of my head, and it was about as wide as the distance from my left shoulder to my right shoulder. I immediately climbed on top of it and began to kick my feet and push my hands through the water, causing me to swim into deeper areas of the ocean. Once I was close to where I was before I had decided to float on a piece of driftwood, I stuck my face back in the water and continued to search for Phoebe and Max.
I kept my ears above the water, allowing me to hear Mr. Thunderman shout, "DID ANYBODY FIND THEM YET!?!?"
I immediately lifted my head back above the water.
"NO, NOT YET!!!" Mom, Sam, Cat, Mrs. Thunderman, Nona, Frankie, Billy, Nora, Goomer, Dice, and I replied.
"I'm starting to get tired!" Frankie complained.
"Frankie, you can't give up now!" I told my sister, "We have to keep on searching for Max and Phoebe!"
"Geez, Taylor, I never said that I was giving up! I just said that I was tired. Phoebe and Max are my friends; I'd never give up on searching for them! Plus, they helped saved me once; It's about time that I returned the favor!"
"Yeah, you're right, Frankie!" Cat agreed, "Max and Phoebe did save our lives! And even if we would of never got kidnapped and they would of never saved us, they're our friends and we should still help them! Even though Max has been acting like a jerk lately, he's still my friend!"
We all nodded in agreement, then returned to our search for Phoebe and Max.
After a while of searching for Phoebe and Max in the ocean, I had finally lifted my head back out of the water. I had finally decided that the tornado didn't throw Phoebe and Max into the ocean.
"GUYS, I DON'T THINK THAT THEY'RE IN HERE!!!" I announced.
I saw as everybody lifted their heads out of the water to look at me, one by one.
"TAYLOR, ARE YOU GIVING UP!?!?" Frankie asked me, "YOU WERE THE ONE WHO TOLD ME NOT TO GIVE UP!!!"
"I'm not giving up, Frankie. I'm just saying that I don't think that the tornado threw Phoebe and Max into the ocean, and maybe we should start thinking of more options."
"Yeah, I agree with you Taylor, but what options do we have?" Sam asked.
We all stopped to think for a moment.
"Well, maybe by the time that we get back to the hotel, this will be all over the weather channel and the news, and they'll show us where the tornado went after it went in the ocean!" Nona suggested.
"Nona, that's a great idea!" Mrs. Thunderman complimented her.
"Alright. Let's go back up on the beach, return these snorkel masks, find the nearsest bus stop, and head back to the hotel!"
"Ok," we all agreed, as we swam back to the shore.
"Wait, wasn't there a bus stop in front of the gift shop?" Goomer asked us.
"Yeah, but since a tornado hit here, there might be too much glass in the streets, so we should look for the nearest one from there," Sam told Goomer.
"Yeah, you're right, Sam," I agreed.
"Wait a minute, we don't have any money!" Nora pointed out, "How are we going to pay the bus driver!?!?"
I faced palmed myself. How could I possibly forget that we don't have any money!?!? How are we supposed to pay the bus driver if we don't have any money!?!? If we were to walk back to the hotel, we wouldn't get there, until tomorrow! Phoebe and Max just got taken away by a tornado and we need to find them a as we can! I nervously glanced over at Cat. We were going to have to do what she would never want to do in a thousand years.
"Cat, I hate to say this, but there's no way that we're going to walk back to the hotel in time; we're going to have to steal money from The Dolphin Swimming Center Gift Shop."
"WHAAAT!?!?" Cat asked, "Why can't you just call the Preston's and have them poof some money over here with their 'prankster' powers!?!?"
"Cat, you don't have to say prankster anymore; there's nobody around here to hear us."
"Alright. Why can't you just call the Preston's and have them poof some money over here with their ghost powers!?!?"
"Because we have no phones!"
"That's right.... I forgot...."
"Cat, you forget everything!" Sam moaned.
"I might forget a lot of things, Sam, but I will never forget how wrong it is to steal money!"
Sam chuckled. "I guess that ATM taught you a lesson, eh, Cat?"
Cat's face reddened up. "Sam, you know that I didn't know that was wrong at the time! I am not going to steal money ever again!"
"Wait, you stole money from an ATM, Cat?" Billy asked.
"Yes, but not on purpose- on accident," Cat answered.
"Wait, how do you steal money from an ATM on an accident?" Frankie asked.
"She kept on pushing buttons until she found a pattern that would play the song, 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game'. Some how, the pattern that she found was somebody's credit card number," Sam explained.
Frankie, Nora, and I began to laugh.
"Guys, we're serious!" Sam told us.
"Yeah, ok. Let's all go with that one!" Nora told us sarcastically.
"GUYS, STOP!!!" Cat shouted at us, "IT'S NOT FUNNY!!!"
"It will always be funny to us though," Nora whispered, as she nudged Frankie.
"Yeah," Frankie and I agreed.
"Guys, I think they're being serious," Billy told us, "Cat seems really upset that you guys think that it's a joke."
"Oh, alright," I sighed, "We'll stop."
"Ok, good," Cat sighed, "Anyways, we are not stealing any money!"
"Cat, listen to me. We have to steal that money," Sam stated, "There is no other option for us to get back to the hotel quickly."
"But, there has to by another way! Can't we just borrow some money!?!?"
"Cat, do you know anybody around here who would lend complete strangers money? Because if you do, I'd be more than happy to ask them."
Cat thought for a moment. "No, I don't."
"We're going to have to steal some money to pay the bus driver with then!"
"I-I really don't want to."
"Cat, trust me. They won't even notice that we stole any money from them. They'll think that it just got blown away by the tornado."
"I guess you're right..."
As soon as we reached the shore, we immediately ran out of the ocean and towards the gift shop. Well, almost all of us.
"Hey, where's Cat?" Dice asked us, noticing that she wasn't with us.
We all stopped in our tracks, then all turned around to see that Cat was still standing in the ocean, frozen with fear.
"Cat, get out of the ocean!" Sam shouted.
Cat just shook her head.
"Cat, everything's going to be fine," Nona assured her granddaughter, "Just get out of the ocean!"
Cat shook her head again.
"Cat, listen to your Nona!" Sam shouted.
"B-but I-I'm t-too a-afraid."
"You know what? I am not going to let Max and Phoebe suffer any longer than they would of because you're too afraid to steal money!" Sam shouted at Cat, as she marched back into the ocean.
Cat dove back into the ocean as Sam started to run after her.
"You know what, Cat?" Sam asked, "You're not being a good friend right now!"
"Come on, let's go inside and get the money, while Sam catches the scaredy-cat!" Nora ordered.
We all nodded as we ran back into the gift shop.
"Ha, ha! Scaredy-cat!" Goomer laughed, "It's funny because her name is Cat and she's scared!"
"Goomer, this is no time to laugh at Nora's joke!" Dice stated.
"Yeah, right now we need to get that cash!" Frankie agreed.
As soon as Nona, Goomer, Dice, Mom, Frankie, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Billy, Nora, and I had gotten into the gift shop, Frankie and Nora dove under the counter and started to gather up the money that was scattered all over the floor underneath of it.
"Look, I found some Mexican pesos!" Nora announced, as she held the pesos up in the air.
"Good!" Mr. Thunderman replied.
"How many of them should I take?"
Mr. Thunderman thought for a moment. "I don't know. Maybe it's better off that we take some American money because we already know how much it costs in our money."
"Yeah, I guess you're right."
"Alright, how many dollars should we take?" Frankie asked.
"Well, the last bus driver charged us seventy-five dollars, so I would say to take one-hundred dollars, just in case our next bus driver charges us more," Mom told Frankie.
"So, a hundred dollars?" Frankie asked as she looked up at us, making sure that we all agree with what Mom told her.
We all nodded our heads. Frankie and Nora then started to gather up all of the American dollars that they could find.
"Alright, here you go," Frankie announced, as she handed us the hundred dollars that she and Nora had found.
Mrs. Thunderman took the money from Frankie and folded it up in her palm, so that nobody would see the large amount of money that we had.
"We should all take off our snorkel masks now, so that Cat doesn't get even more nervous," I told everybody.
They all nodded in agreement as we began to take off our snorkel masks.
"Hey, how come Sam hasn't come back with Cat yet?" Dice asked, as soon as we had all taken our snorkel masks off.
"Ooh, I don't know," Nona answered, "Maybe we should go back on the beach and see what they're doing."
We all nodded in agreement, as we headed back towards the beach.
As soon as we had gotten back on the beach, we watched as Sam walked out of the ocean with Cat slung over her shoulder.
"Did Sam knock Cat unconscious?" I thought to myself.
As if she was answering my question, Cat started to kick her feet and swat her hands at Sam's face, trying to break free. As soon as she started to do this, Sam put Cat back down and turned her around, so that she was facing us.
"Look, they've already did it without us!" Sam told Cat.
"I see that...," Cat replied as she gulped.
"Ready to go back to the hotel?" I asked Sam and Cat.
"Yep!" Sam replied.
Cat just nervously nodded her head, as she walked out of the ocean. With that being said, Sam and Cat took their snorkel masks off. Then, we were off, looking for the nearest bus stop.
The nearest bus stop was about twenty minutes from the one that was right in front of The Dolphin Swimming Center Gift Shop. Luckily, we didn't have to wait too long for another bus to come. We only had to wait about five minutes. Since most people were staying inside because of the tornado that had just hit, the bus was empty again when we entered it. It took the bus driver about an hour to drive us back to the hotel. Since the bus driver was being nice and he understood that we wanted to get away from the area where the tornado had hit, he only charged us fifty dollars for the ride. As soon as we had all gotten off of the bus, we raced towards the hotel.
Since Sam, Cat, Nona, Goomer, and Dice's hotel room was on the fifth floor, making it closer to the lobby out of the three of our hotel rooms, we had decided to watch the news and the weather channel in their room. Since all of our stuff was blown away by the tornado, we had to go up to the front desk and get more room keys. As soon as we had all gotten our new room keys, we headed towards the stairs, since there was no time for us to wait for the elevators.
As soon as we had reached the stairs, Sam told Billy as she handed him her room key, "Here, Billy, take my room key. You're the fastest out of all of us and I really don't want us to miss anything on the weather channel or on the news that might help us figure out where Max and Phoebe are!"
Billy looked nervously at the room key, then looked at his parents. "Is it ok if I use my super speed?"
Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman both nodded in agreement.
"Just don't get caught," Mrs. Thunderman told Billy, "If you see anybody, just slow down, then pick up the pace again, once you pass by them."
"Ok. Sam, what's your room number?" Billy asked.
"It's 5743. As soon as you get in, turn on two of the TVs. Turn one to the weather channel and turn one on to the news. There's two video cameras in a purple bag on the coffee table in the living room. Make sure that you're filming both stations," Sam told Billy.
"Ok, got it!" Billy replied, as he took Sam's room key out of her hand, then used his super speed to race up the stairs and into Sam, Cat, Nona, Goomer, and Dice's hotel room.
Frankie, Mom, Sam, Cat, Dice, Goomer, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Nora, and I then started our long journey up the five flights of stairs.
"Which way... is your... room?" Mr. Thunderman panted, as soon as we got on the fifth floor.
"It's to.... the right," Cat answered.
"Oh... ok," Mr. Thunderman replied as we made a right.
As soon as we had finally gotten to Sam, Cat, Dice, Goomer, and Nona's hotel room, Cat stuck her room key into the little, gold key slot that was on the door and unlocked the door, letting us inside of her hotel room. As soon as we had gotten in, Billy rushed up to us with a silver video camera in his hands.
"Guys, you just missed something important, but I got it all on camera!" Billy told us.
"What did we miss!?!?" Sam, Cat, Nora, Frankie, Mom, Goomer, Dice, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, and I asked Billy.
"Here, I'll show you guys!" Billy told us, as he hit the little, red play button on the camera.
On the video, was weatherman who was speaking in Spanish. Behind him, was a huge map of all of the countries on Earth. He was pointing to a green figure that had just suddenly appeared on the map. The figure was small and green. It started off on the coast of Mexico, then went off into the ocean a few inches, before the animation repeated itself. It was the tornado that had just hit us. As soon as the man was done showing us the tornado, another green figure appeared on the map. The green figure started off somewhere in Washington, then crossed over into the Gulf of Mexico, then stopped in the same exact place where the first tornado had stopped, before the animation repeated itself. There were two tornadoes!?!? I'm starting to get a bit suspicious now... As soon as the weatherman was done showing us the second tornado, another green figure appeared on the map. It started off somewhere in Italy, then crossed over into the Mediterranean Sea, then into the Atlantic Ocean, then into the Gulf of Mexico, then finally stopped at the same exact place where the tow other tornadoes, before the animation repeated itself. Wait, there's three tornadoes now!?!? I'm starting to get even more suspicious now!
"Billy, rewind the video," Mr. Thunderman ordered.
"Why?" Billy asked.
"Because I want to show you guys something."
"Ok," Billy replied as he hit the little, grey rewind button on the camera.
"Now, press play."
"Ok," Billy agreed, as he hit the play button.
The video then repeated itself. When the first tornado was just about to stop again, Mr. Thunderman shouted, "Now, pause it!" Billy immediately followed his father's orders and paused the video. Mr. Thunderman then took the camera out of Billy's hands and pointed at something on the screen with his index finger.
"See that dark-green dot that's right next to Mexico?" We all gathered around Mr. Thunderman and squinted at the camera, so that we could see what he was talking about.
There it was, right off of the coast of Tamaulipas; the little dark-green dot.
"Mmmmhhhhmmm," Billy, Nora, Sam, Cat, Frankie, Mom, Mrs. Thunderman, Nona, Dice, Goomer, and I agreed at once.
"Well, that's an island and all three of the tornadoes are heading towards it," Mr. Thunderman told us, "Barb, I think that The Dark Twister and The Dark Hurricane are at it again."
"But, that's impossible!" Mrs. Thunderman argued, "They haven't been active, since the 50's!"
"Who's The Dark Twister and The Dark Hurricane?" Nora, Frankie, Billy, Dice, Sam, Cat, Goomer, Mom, Nona, and I asked Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, as we cocked our heads at them.
"Well, you see, kids, about ten years before Mrs. Thunderman and I were born, a married couple of super villains were sent to prison. Their names were The Dark Twister and The Dark Hurricane," Mr. Thunbderman explained.
"Why did they get sent to prison?" Frankie asked.
"We don't know, Frankie," Mrs. Thunderman answered, "I was never told why, and neither was Mr. Thunderman."
"Oh."
"So anyways, The Dark Twister had the power to create tornadoes and to control their paths. The Dark Hurricane had the power to create hurricanes and to control their paths. For some reason, they were sent to a normal prison; a prison for human beings without super powers, like the ones around you. I guess that they didn't use their super powers, when they committed their crime, or didn't try to use their powers against the cops. Then, one night, they had finally decided that they were going to break out of the prison as a couple. The Dark Twister created a tornado to destroy the prison, while The Dark Hurricane created a hurricane to flood the streets," Mr. Thunderman told us.
"So, what happened after that?" I asked.
"So once the two storms hit, our mothers and fathers teamed up to stop them and take them to a proper prison. But, they just weren't as powerful as The Dark Twister and The Dark Hurricane. They were forced to retreat. After the prison was destroyed and flooded, they both hopped into The Dark Twister's tornado and made they're escape. Nobody's ever heard of them since."
"How come you guys never told us this?" Nora asked.
"Because we didn't want to scare you guys," Mr. Thunderman answered.
"We wouldn't of been scared!"
"Well, that's good that you and your brothers and sisters are that brave."
"Hank, are you sure that it's them?" Mrs. Thunderman asked.
"I'm positive," Mr. Thunderman answered, "All of the tornadoes are heading in the same exact direction!"
Mrs. Thunderman sighed. "I guess you're right, Hank. But, how are we going to find Max and Phoebe?"
Mr. Thunderman grinned. "I know exactly how we're going to find them."
As soon as Sam, Frankie, Dice, Mom, Nona, Nora, Mrs. Thunderman saw where Mr. Thunderman was going with what he was saying, we grinned back at him.
"Why's everybody smiling at each other?" Goomer asked.
"Yeah, we'd like to know why!" Cat added.
"Come on, don't leave us out, guys!" Billy told us, "We want to smile too!"
"Don't worry, you guys will eventually figure it out!" Nora told Billy, Cat, and Goomer.
"Ok, then!" Billy replied, "Anyways, on the news there was some boy talking about what he experienced and how he lost his friend to the tornado in Seattle. Also, there was a dad talking about what he experienced and how he lost his daughter to the tornado in Italy."
Sam's eyes widened. "Billy, I need to see that video!"
"Ok, I'll be right back!" Billy told Sam, as he headed into the bedroom that was to the right of us.
A couple of seconds later, Billy came back out of the bedroom with a black camera in his hands. Sam quickly snatched it from Billy, then played the video that Billy had recorded for us. As soon as Sam was done watching the video, she dropped the camera, then dashed towards the white phone that was on top of the dresser.
"What's going on?" Dice asked Sam.
"I have to call Freddie!" Sam told Dice, as she picked up the phone, "Carly was taken away by one of the tornadoes! So, was Nevel, but I really don't care about him."
We all gasped as Sam began to dial Freddie's phone number into the phone.
"Oh my gosh, we really need to get help!" I exclaimed.
"That's why I'm calling Freddie, so that he can fly over to Mexico and help us," Sam told us.
"I really hope that he answers! We could really use his help!"
"Yeah, me too."
"Wait, who's Freddie and who's Nevel?" Nona asked Sam.
"Freddie is a boy who I used to be friends with back in Seattle. He used to be our technical producer for iCarly. And Nevel is just some kid, who used to try to get rid of our web show."
"Well, that explains why you don't care about Nevel," Frankie stated.
"Exactly," Sam agreed, "Now, be quiet; the phone's starting to ring."
We all just nodded.
"Oh, that reminds me, can I use your other phone to call Ray, Miles, and Louie, so they can help us rescue Phoebe, Max, and Carly?" I whispered to Cat.
"Of corse you can! There's another phone in the bedroom that Sam and I share!" Cat told me as, she pointed towards the bedroom that was to the right of us.
"Ok, thanks!" I thanked Cat, as I headed towards Sam and Cat's bedroom.
I quickly opened the door, as I entered the room. I began to look around, until I had finally spotted another white phone that was on the nightstand that was right next to the bed on the left side of the room. I immediately dashed towards the phone. As soon as I had picked the phone up, I dialed in Miles' phone number. I crossed my fingers as the phone began to ring.
"Please answer, please answer, please answer!" I whispered to myself.
