Chapter 12

Sam & Cat & the Haunted Thundermans: The Dark Twister

Chapter Twelve: Swimming With Dolphins
Max Thunderman POV

"Beep, beep, beep!" The alarm clock on the nightstand that was right next to Phoebe's bed went off.

"Why do I have to share a room with her?" I thought to myself, "Why couldn't of I had gotten a room to all myself?"

I groaned, then turned my head towards the clock that was on my nightstand. It was 6:30 in the morning on Saturday, July 5th.

"Phoebe, why did you have to wake me up so early with your stupid alarm clock?" I moaned, "Why couldn't of you had set it for a later time, like a normal person would of?"

"Save your breath, Max," Phoebe replied in an annoyed tone, "You're so lucky that Mom and Dad went easy on you guys yesterday! If they hadn't went easy with your punishment, you wouldn't be even coming with us today!"

"I don't even want to go swimming with the stupid dolphins!"

"Oh really!?!? It seemed like you wanted to go swimming with the stupid dolphins yesterday and a couple of days ago!"

I gulped. Phoebe was right. I did want to go swimming with the dolphins. I just didn't want her to know that, but it looks like I already gave myself away.

"Whatever, Phoebe. Let's just go wake up Mom, Dad, Nora, and Billy," I stated as I started to get out of bed.

Phoebe rolled her eyes, then got out of her bed. "Oh, ok, Max. Just change the subject; that's ok with me."

I just ignored Phoebe as I opened the door that led into our living room. I really didn't feel like admitting that I really do want to go swimming with dolphins. I have to keep a reputation, you know? I'm the super villain of the family! As soon as I saw Phoebe, I laughed at her. Her air was all up in the air; it was hilarious! Phoebe just rolled her eyes at me.

"Very funny, Max," she said in an annoyed tone.

Phoebe and I then quietly tip-toed into the living room, where Nora and Billy were sleeping on two pull-out beds. Phoebe tip-toed towards Billy and Nora, while I tip-toed towards the light switch, which was right next to the front door. As soon as Phoebe saw where I was heading to, she stopped in her tracks.

"Max, what the heck are you doing!?!?" She whispered, "We're supposed to be waking up Nora and Billy!"

"But, I am," I answered, as I continued to tip-toe towards the light switch.

Realizing what I was about to do, Phoebe ran towards me, trying to stop me. But, it was too late; I had already beat her to the light switch.

"Max, it's too early for this!" Phoebe hissed, as he grabbed my right arm.

"Oh, is it?" I asked while grinning, "Well, that's too bad!"

I then began to flip the light switch up and down with my left hand, causing the lights to flicker.

"Max, stop!" Phoebe shouted, "That's annoying!"

Phoebe then let go of my right arm and went for my left. Bad choice. I continued to flicker the lights with my left hand, while blocking Phoebe's hands out of my way with my right. Finally, Phoebe stopped for a second to catch her breath. Just as I thought that she was going to give up, she shoved me out of the way with both of her hands, leaving the light switch on it's on position.

"Hey!" I shouted, as I went for the light switch again.

Then all of the sudden, Phoebe used her telekinesis powers to slam my hands against the wall. I tried to struggle free, but I couldn't.

"Stop it, Max," Phoebe ordered in a harsh voice.

With one nod of the head, Phoebe finally let me go.

"Hey, keep it down, would ya?" Dr. Colosso asked in an annoyed tone, "I'm trying to sleep!"

Phoebe and I then looked down at Dr. Colosso's cage, which was right next to the dresser that held our tv up.

"Sorry, Dr. Colosso," Phoebe apologized, "Max was just being annoying again by playing with the light switch."

"Hey, I was not playing with it!" I argued, "I was flipping it up and down!"

"Look, guys. I really don't care about what you guys were just doing, but just stop! Super villains sleep until late in the day and don't go back to sleep until early in the morning!"

"Whatever, Dr. Colosso," I replied.

All of the sudden, I heard yawning and stretching. Phoebe and I both turned our heads towards the two pull-out beds. We watched Nora and Billy as they slowly sat up in their beds. They turned their heads towards Phoebe and I to see what we were doing that woke them up.

"What's going on?" Billy asked.

"Yeah, it's too early for this," Nora groaned.

"Too early!?!?" Phoebe asked, "Nora, I thought that you were excited to go swimming with the dolphins!"

Nora's eyes widened. "Did I say too early!?!? I meant to say not early enough!"

"Yeah, that's the spirit Nora!"

Nora immediately jumped out of her bed and ran into Mom and Dad's room. Billy then jumped out of his bed and followed Nora.

"Mom, Dad, get up!" We heard Nora shout.

"Nora, don't be so loud!" Phoebe shouted, "Let Mom and Dad wake up nice and peaceful!"

"Yeah, and let me go back to sleep!" Dr. Colosso added.

I just shrugged. "Better her than me!"

"You know what?" Phoebe asked as she pointed at me, "You're right! At least you're not in there, flickering the lights on and off!"

"Come on, get out of bed, guys!" We heard Billy tell Mom and Dad.

"Alright, we're getting up!" We heard Dad groan, as we heard a loud, "Thud!" as he and Mom got up out of their bed.

"Give us some time to wake up!" Mom told Nora and Billy.

"But, Mom, you guys are already up!" Billy exclaimed.

"You know what I meant, Billy."

"I don't think he did, Mom. If he knew what you meant, he wouldn't of said what he just said."

"Well, anyways let's get ready!" Billy announced.

"Ok, ok!" Dad exclaimed, "Slow down, Billy!"

"How can I slow down when I'm this excited!?!?"

"If you're so excited, then why don't you go get ready?"

"Great idea, Dad!" Billy complimented him, as he ran into the living room and into the bathroom to brush his teeth.

Phoebe, Nora, and I followed him.

"Are you guys ready!?!?" Nora asked about a half hour later, as she stood near the door.
We all nodded.

"Wait, what time do we have to be there by?" I asked.

"Well, our reservation is at 9:30 in the morning, so I'd say a little bit before then," Phoebe replied.

"9:30!?!?! It's around 7:00 in the morning right now! Why are we leaving so early!?!? We have about two hours and thirty minutes to get there!"

"The employees at the check-in desk told us that it takes about an hour to get to the place where we have to go, Max. Plus, what if the bus is full? Or what if the bus is late? You've always gotta come prepared, Max!"

"Oh really? I always have to come prepared? Is everybody else leaving this early too? Because, I bet you that they aren't!"

"Yes, everybody has to come prepared, Max, or else they will miss the good things that life has to offer them. And for your information, everybody else is leaving this early! I texted Sam, Cat, and Taylor and they even told me so! They're heading down to meet us in the lobby right now!"

"Fine. Let's just go then."

With that being said, Nora quickly opened the door and held it open for us. Out the door we went to swim with the dolphins!

"There you guys are!" Cat said, as soon as she had spotted us, "Can you believe it!?!? We're going to swim with dolphins!"

"I know!!!" Phoebe agreed, as she and Cat began to jump up and down in excitement, "I've always wanted to go swimming with dolphins!"

"Me too!" Goomer, Sam, Taylor, Dice, Billy, Frankie, Louie, and Nora agreed.

"Hey, Max, I thought that you wanted to come too," Frankie stated.

"What!?!?! I never said that!" I lied.

"Well, the way that you, Nora, and Billy begged to go swimming with dolphins yesterday, really made it seem like that you wanted to go!"

"I know right!" Phoebe agreed.

"I never did that!" I lied.

"Oh, yes you did, Max," Taylor told me, "You were like a little puppy begging for a biscuit!"

"I wasn't acting like a puppy! Why would I ever beg like a little puppy!?!? I would be acting like a baby, if I did that!"

"Really? Where's your little high chair then?"

"I am not going to accept this kind of teasing from you guys!"

"Face it, Max. You were begging," Sam told me, "You want to go swimming with the dolphins. You made it too obvious, now stop lying to us!"

I sighed. "Fine! I want to go swimming with the dolphins! Are you guys happy now!?!?"

Frankie, Taylor, Sam, and Phoebe all looked at each other.

"Yes," Phoebe answered, "Yes, we are!"

"Alright, that's enough fighting, kids!" Ms. Hathaway told Sam, Phoebe, Taylor, Frankie, and I.

"Yes, now please stop!" Nona added, "I don't need a headache today!"

"Yeah, neither do I!"

"Wait, why would you guys hit yourselves in the heads with hammers?!?!" Goomer asked, seeming confused.

Nona, Sam, Cat, Dice, Ms. Hathaway, Taylor, Frankie, Mom, Dad, Phoebe, Billy, Nora, and I gave Goomer a confused look.

"Goomer, why would Nona and Ms. Hathaway even do that!?!?" Dice asked.

"Well, I don't know, Dice," Goomer replied, "If you were to hit yourself in the head with a hammer, wouldn't your head start to ache?"

"Yes, but that's not what Nona and Ms. Hathaway meant!"

"Well, what did they mean?"

"Well, you know how if you hear something that is really annoying for a really long time and your head starts to hurt?"

Goomer thought for a moment. "No."

"Well, that's a head ache!"

"Ohh, ok!"

"Can we go now?" Frankie asked us, "I think that if we stay here and talk any longer, we'll miss the bus."

We all nodded as we followed Frankie to the front doors.

"Can you take us to The Dolphin Swimming Center?" Mom asked, as we all climbed onto the bus.

Our Mexican bus driver nodded. "Si."

Once again, the bus was empty. I mean seriously, does anyone in Mexico ever ride any of these buses? Or did we just get lucky twice in a row? We probably just got lucky twice in a row. I mean, other people take these buses too, right? I decided to sit in the very back of the bus; away from everybody else. As soon as everybody had sat down, the bus driver started up the bus and we were off!

A couple of minutes later, I felt the bus come to a stop. I snapped out of my day dream. Were we there already? But, Phoebe had told me that they said that it takes an hour to get there. Did Phoebe lie to me!?!? I looked up and through the windshield. Nope. Phoebe didn't lie to me. We were jus at a red light. As soon as I was drifting back into a day dream, I felt somebody sit down in the seat to the right of me, the seat that wasn't next to the window. I looked to the right, startled. It was Cat.

"Cat, what are you doing sitting next to me?" I asked, confused, "Why aren't you sitting next to Sam?"

"Because I saw you sitting all alone," Cat replied.

"But, Phoebe's sitting all alone too!" I told Cat as I pointed towards Phoebe, who was sitting alone in a seat next to Sam, Taylor, and Frankie.

"Yeah, but she's talking to Sam, Taylor, and Frankie. You're talking to nobody!"

"But, look at Sam! she's sitting all alone now! Don't you want to go and sit next to her again, so she's not all alone?"

"Yeah, but she's talking to Frankie, Taylor, and Phoebe!"

"Cat, I'm fine. I like sitting alone!"

"Are you sure?"

"I'm positive, Cat! Now leave me alone!"

"Well, geez, Max! I just hate seeing people sitting all by themselves and not talking to anybody like a loner! You don't have to be so harsh about it!"

"Well, I am a loner!"

"You know what, Max? For a guy who helped save my life, you're pretty rude!"

"Look, Cat, I don't mean to be rude, but it's just my nature! I just really want to sit alone right now!"

"Why? Why is being rude to people your nature?"

"I don't know! It's just how I am! Get used to it!

"Well, that's one messed up nature you have there, Max," Cat told me as she got up to go sit back with Sam, "If you didn't want me to sit next to you, you could of said it nicely!"

"If you don't like what I say and do, then how the heck do you put up with Sam!?!?" I fired back at Cat.

There was complete silence; she didn't hear me.

"Great. Just great!" I thought to myself, "This girl is a lot like Phoebe with the way that she acts! I already have Phoebe criticizing my actions and telling me to be nicer, but now Cat too? This is just too much! Why couldn't Cat just mind her own business and left me alone, like everybody else did? I mean, seriously! She thinks that I have a messed up nature! No, she has a messed up nature! She's the one who had the guts to sit next to me! I think that I need to cool down for a minute, or two. Or ten. Or thirty. Or a hour!"

After awhile, I felt the bus come to a halt. I looked up again. This time, we were actually there!

"We here," the bus driver told us in his Mexican accent, "That be seventy-five."

"Ok," Ms. Hathaway agreed, "Why don't we spilt it three ways? You know, because we are all staying at our hotel in three groups?"

We all nodded as we got out of our seats. Mom, Nona, and Ms. Hathaway immediately each handed the bus driver their twenty-five dollars.

"Gracias!" The bus driver thanked us, "Have fun time!"

"Gracias!" We thanked the bus driver, as we climbed out of the bus.

So there we were, standing in front of The Dolphin Swimming Center. It was a medium-sized, white building. On it's logo, there was a picture of a dolphin splashing into the ocean with the words, "THE DOLPHIN SWIMMING CENTER" in huge, red letters. We immediately headed towards the front doors. Dad immediately pushed open the glass door to our right and held it open for us.

"Thank you," we all thanked Dad as we walked into the huge building.

Standing right in front of us was tons of nicknacks and souvenirs. There was stuffed dolphins, t-shirts with dolphins on them, cups and mugs with dolphins on them, dolphins key chains, dolphin magnets, dolphin car stickers and car magnets, and so much more dolphin-themed stuff. We were in The Dolphin Swimming Center Gift Shop. To the left of us, was a cashier working at a white, marble counter.

"Let's go ask the cashier where we have to go," Mom told us, as she headed towards the cashier. We all nodded, then followed her.

"Excuse me, señor?" Mom politely asked the cashier.

"Si?" The cashier answered, as he looked up from his cash register.

"We have a reservation to go swimming with your dolphins at 9:30. Where do we have to go?"

"It early. It 8:15. You wait outside," the cashier told us, as he pointed to the glass back doors, which led to where you could go swimming with the dolphins, "They call name when ready."

"Ok. Gracias!" Mom thanked the cashier, as we walked towards the back doors.

"De nada!"

As soon as we had gotten outside, we all gasped in amazement. Standing right in front of us was a huge swimming pool. Then, to the left of the pool, was a a small wooden playground. In front of the pool and playground, was a small beach with a huge dock where you could go swimming with the dolphins. Nora then turned towards Billy and Frankie.

"Race you guys to the playground?" She asked them.

Frankie and Billy nodded, then ran off to the playground. Nora followed them.

"I'm going in the pool. Ok, guys?" Taylor asked.

"Ok, I'll go in with you," Phoebe told Taylor.

"I'll go with you guys too," Cat added.

Phoebe and Taylor both nodded as they headed towards the pool with Cat.

"Aww, I wanna go on the playground!" Goomer complained.

"Goomer, you're too big for the playground," Dice stated, "If you go on, you might accidentally break something!"

"Aww! Can we at least go in the pool?"

"Of course we can!"

"Yay!"

Mom, Dad, Nona, Ms. Hathaway, Sam, and I watched Goomer, Sam, Dice, Taylor, and Phoebe climb into the pool as we sat down in the lounge chairs that were set up around the pool. As soon as I had laid down in my chair, I closed my eyes and fell into another day dream.

"Hey, how come you're not going into the pool with Cat, Goomer, Dice, Phoebe, and Taylor?" I heard the person who was sitting in the chair to the right of me ask.

I opened my eyes and sat straight up, startled. I sighed out of relief. It was only Sam.

"Because I don't feel like it," I answered as I laid back down.

"Yeah me neither," Sam agreed.

"Hey, I have a question."

"Ugghh, what is it?"

"How the heck do you put up with Cat?"

Sam thought for a moment. "I don't know. I guess I just got used to her after awhile, like most people. Isn't that how you put up with your sister, Phoebe?"

I thought for a moment. "Yeah, I guess so."

"But, I do get annoyed with her a lot. Like when she tells me to be nicer, or when she acts stupid."

"Yeah, I get really annoyed when Phoebe tells me to be nicer. It's like she's telling me to change. I am not going to change! I'm Max Thunderman and I'm never going to change my personality! If you don't like my personality, then just deal with it!"

"I know; that's exactly how I feel. People just need to face facts; I'm never going to change who I am and neither should they!"

"I have another question."

"Uggghhh! Another one!?!?"

"Hey, you were the one who started our conversation!"

"Uggghhh, I guess you're right. What's your question?"

"How the heck does Cat put up with you!?!?"

"What are you saying!?!? Are you saying that people can't tolerate me being around them all the time!?!?"

"Well, I can't tolerate most people, but no."

"Yeah, me neither."

"What I'm saying is, when we were on the bus earlier, Cat sat down next to me because I was sitting all by myself and she got mad at me when I told her to go away in a rude way."

"So?"

"Well, I don't understand how she would get so upset, when you say stuff like that to her all the time!"

Sam thought for a moment. "I honestly don't know either. Maybe it's enough for her to have one person like me in her life, put now she has to put up with two."

"I never said that we were alike! I just said that we say a lot of the same stuff!"

"You know what I meant, Max."

I sighed. "I just don't get it. Sam, she's you're best friend! You know her better than I do! Tell me why she got so upset!"

"Max, I already told you that I don't know!"

I just sighed and rolled over on my side. "Alright. Just tell me if you get any clues to why she got so upset, ok?"

"Alright, I will."

About an hour later, we heard a guy shout, "Gieux Merr, Sam Puckett, Cat Valentine, Phoebe Thunderman, Max Thunderman, Taylor Hathaway, Diceneo Corleone, Billy Thunderman, Frankie Hathaway, and Nora Thunderman?"

"Ooh, that's us!" Phoebe told the guy, as she climbed out of the pool.

"Ok, you can swim with dolphins now!"

You see, a couple of days ago, we had decided that it would just be us kids swimming with the dolphins. When Goomer heard that, he got really upset, so we let him go swimming with the dolphins with us. As Sam and I had just started to get up out of our chairs, we saw Billy, Nora, and Frankie race towards the guy who was taking us swimming with the dolphins.

As soon as we were all finally near the dock, the guy told us as he pointed to a table filled with life jackets, "Put life jacket on, then my amigo, Pedro and me take you swimming with dolphins."

We all nodded, as we began top try on life jackets.

As soon as we all had finally found a life jacket that fit us, the guy shouted, "Pedro!"

We then saw a guy that was on the opposite end of the dock turn around. "Si?"

"We ready!"

"Oh, ok!" Pedro replied, as he ran towards us.

"You guys ready?" The guy asked us as soon, as Pedro caught up with us.

We all nodded.

"Ok. Follow Miguel," Pedro ordered, as he pointed towards the other guy who was taking us swimming with the dolphins.

We nodded once more. Miguel then unlocked a small, metal gate and held it open for us.

"Gracias!" We thanked him.

"Ne nada!" He replied.

Once we finally got to the end of the dock, I had saw four dolphins.

"Meet Felipe, Luana, Maria, and Javier," Pedro stated, "You swim with them today."

"Ok," Goomer, Sam, Cat, Dice, Taylor, Frankie, Phoebe, Billy, Nora, and I replied.

Miguel then climbed down a small, metal ladder backwards and got into the ocean.

"Come on," ordered, as he motioned us towards us, "Watch step."

"Ok," we replied, as I started to climb down the ladder backwards.

As soon as we had all gotten into the ocean, I felt a tingling sensation. Something bad was going to happen and my thundersense was going off. I turned away so nobody could see my eyes change to blue with a yellow lightning bolt in the center of my pupils. Phoebe swam over next to me and did the same. Her thundersense was going off too.

"Can you feel it too, Phoebe?" I whispered, even though I already knew the answer.

"Yes," Phoebe answered.

"What's going on?"

"I don't know, Max. I just don't know."

"Do you think that we should get out of the water?"

Phoebe thought for a moment. "Yeah, we should."

"Everything ok?" Pedro and Miguel asked us at once.

"Is it ok for me to turn around, Max?" Phoebe whispered.

I looked into Phoebe's eyes. They were back to normal; they were brown again with no lightning bolt in the center of her pupils.

"Yes, it is. How about me?" I asked Phoebe.

Phoebe then looked into my eyes. "Yeah, it's alright."

"Oh, nothing," I lied, as Phoebe and I both turned around, "We're going to get out, ok?"

"Why, Max? Why?" Cat asked me, "Are you too chicken to do it!?!?"

"Hey, I am not chicken! Phoebe and I just have food poisoning from our breakfast!"
"But all you guys had was-" Billy began before Phoebe covered up his mouth.

"We had huge buffet! I know, Billy. We shouldn't of ate so much! But, trust me, we'll never do it again!" Phoebe lied, "Ready to get out, Max?"

I nodded. Phoebe then let go of Billy's mouth and followed me up the ladder.

"Ok, feel better!" Miguel told us.

"Yeah, have fun not swimming with the dolphins, coward!" Cat yelled to me.

I immediately stopped in my tracks and turned around to look back at Cat. This girl was just pushing it way too far! She knows that I have thundersense and can sense danger! Why is she calling me a coward!?!?

"WHO ARE YOU CALLING A COWARD!?!?" I asked, now getting angry.

"I'M CALLING YOU A COWARD, MAX!" Cat shouted back.

"Cat, just stop, ok?" Taylor kindly asked Cat.

"NO! HE WAS BEING MEAN TO ME EARLIER!"

"What did he do?"

"He told me to get away from him on the bus in a rude tone!"

"So? Sam is like that to you all the time!"

"Well, I thought that he was nice because he helped save my life! It turns out that he's a huge jerk!"

"You know what!?!? Food poisoned or not, I'm going to go swimming with those dolphins!" I screamed, as I ran back down the dock.

"Max, you're making a huge mistake!" Phoebe shouted, as she chased me.

"Oh, I'm making a mistake? Cat's the one who has the guts to call me a coward!"

"But, we're 'food poisoned'!" Phoebe exclaimed, as she grabbed onto my left arm, holding me back.

"I don't care," I answered sternly, as I tore away from Phoebe's grasp and jumped into the ocean.

"Max, get out!" Phoebe demanded, as she followed me into the ocean.

"No! I'm going to show Cat that I'm not a coward!"

Then all of the sudden, I heard a loud, "Thud!" We all turned around and looked at the entrance to the dock. I then heard another loud, "Thud!" Mom and Dad had both jumped over the gate. Nona and Ms. Hathaway had followed them, but remained at the front of the gate.

"Hey, you can't do that!" Pedro shouted at Mom and Dad.

"Oh, yes we can!" Dad shouted back, "Everybody get out of the ocean!"

"Why? What's happening!?!?" Billy asked.

"I don't mean to scare you guys, but look up at the sky!"

Pedro, Miguel, Phoebe, Sam, Goomer, Dice, Billy, Nora, Sam, Cat, Taylor, Frankie, and I immediately looked up. I stared at the forming funnel in the clouds with fear. The funnel was spinning at about one-hundred miles per hour and it was picking up speed. It was a tornado and it was forming at very fast rate; an abnormal rate. Phoebe was right; I was making a huge mistake. If I would of listened to her, I would of been further away from the tornado in the sky.

"EVERYBODY OUT!!!" Pedro and Miguel both shouted at once, "OUT, OUT, OUT!!!"

We immediately listened to Pedro and Miguel's orders and started to quickly climb up the ladder. Mom and Dad helped each and everyone of us climb out of the ocean faster by pulling us up.

"MICHELLE, NONA!" Dad shouted, "DON'T WAIT FOR US; JUST MAKE A RUN FOR IT!!!"

"NO!!!" Ms. Hathaway screamed in rebellion, "I'M NOT LEAVING MY DAUGHTERS!!!"

"AND I'M NOT LEAVING MY GRANDDAUGHTER!!!" Nona added.

"JUST GO!!! THEY'RE WITH US; THEY'LL BE SAFE!!! WE'LL BE RIGHT BEHIND YOU THE WHOLE TIME!!!"

"NO, WE'RE GOING TO SURVIVE THIS TORNADO TOGETHER!!! WE'RE GOING TO WAIT FOR YOU GUYS!!!" Nona told us.

"YEAH!!! WE'RE NOT MOVING, UNTIL YOU GUYS CATCH UP WITH US!!!"

"SUIT YOURSELVES!!!" Dad shouted, as we started to run towards the gate.

As soon as a had made it to the gate, Ms. Hathaway and Nona started to run towards the gift shop. Without thinking, we all jumped over the fence, as if we were ninjas in a special effects movie.

"EVERYBODY OFF BEACH!!!" Miguel demanded, as he and Pedro ran behind us.

"TORNADO, TORNADO!!! RUN, RUN!!!" Pedro shouted.

Everybody who was on the perimeter all looked up at the same exact time. Shrieks filled the air, as they all started to make a run for it. As we got closer to the gift shop, we put our hands out in front of us, so that we could open the doors.

"TORNADO!!! RUN, RUN!!!" Pedro and Miguel shouted at the cashier and customers as we made our way inside of the gift shop.

Everybody turned their heads to the back door to see that the tornado touch the ground. Even more shrieks started to fill the air. The ones who had ran inside, all stopped for a second to catch their breaths. The ones who were already inside, ran through the front doors.

"OH MY GOD!!!" We heard a fellow American scream.

We all turned our heads to see the back doors get eaten by the tornado in front of our very eyes.

"This is it; my last few seconds of life" I thought to myself, "I'm going to die right here, in this very gift shop."

"EVERYBODY RUN!!!" Mom screamed, as we made our way towards the front door.

Just as I was about to make it safely through the front doors, somebody accidentally shoved me in the back. I fell down in the floor, face-first. I lifted my head up to only have it shoved back down by somebody's foot. Then, I felt another foot hit my leg. I felt another hit my back.

As I was being trampled by the crowd of frightened people, I heard Mom scream, "MAX!?!?! WHERE'S MAX!?!!? OH MY GOD, I THINK WE LOST MAX!!!!"

I then felt the wind pick up at my feet. Finally, the tornado had caught hold of my legs and picked me up into the air. The tornado picked me up higher and higher as it spun me around. I started to get really dizzy.

After thirty seconds of being spun around, I thought to myself, "How am I not being torn to pieces?!?! How am I not dead yet!?!? Is it because I'm a supe!?!? Do non-supes have bodies that are easier torn apart than supe's bodies!?!?"

I saw darkness closing in my vision. I was going unconscious.
