Chapter Sixteen

Sam & Cat & the Haunted Thundermans: Back to the Past

Chapter Sixteen: I Know What Our Enemies Did!
Carly Shay POV

That's when it hit me. When Zack had said that, it had reminded me of when Charlotte, Dice, Cat, Taylor, Frankie, Gibby, Freddie, and Henry got possessed and and knocked out Nora while we were trying to free them from prison, but the ghosts that were possessing them would not let us, I remember the first thing Nora said when she came to.

"OH MY GOD, THIS IS JUST AWFUL!!! You guys know what!?!? Sometimes I wish that we would have never became friends so none of these awful things would have never happened to us!" Nora shrieked.

We all turned around to see that Nora was conscious again. Tears were now rushing down her face as she sat down on the cold, hard, concrete floor.

"NORA!!!" We all cried with joy as we rushed over towards her, suddenly forgetting that we were battling a bunch of ghost super villains.

"GUYS, THE GHOSTS!!!" Alex exclaimed as she pointed over towards Cat, Dice, Freddie, Henry, Charlotte, Taylor, Gibby, and Frankie.

"Wait a minute, how are you pointing?" Beck asked, "I thought that they were holding you guys in place!"

"Ugghh... What happened?" Cat, Dice, Freddie, Henry, Charlotte, Taylor, Gibby, and Frankie all groaned as they slowly got back up on their feet, holding their heads with their hands as if they had excruciating headaches.

"Oh, don't play games with us, ghosts!" Phoebe snapped.

"We know that you're still in there!" I added.

Cat, Dice, Freddie, Henry, Taylor, Gibby, Frankie, and Charlotte gave everybody confused looks.

"What are you guys talking about!?!?" Gibby asked me and Phoebe, confused.

"Yeah, we're not being possessed!" Freddie chimed in.

"It's us; Taylor, Gibby, Freddie, Charlotte, Dice, Frankie, Charlotte, and Henry!" Taylor exclaimed.

"They seem really confused and upset," Nona stated, "Do you think that they are telling the truth?"

"We're telling the truth!" Charlotte cried.

"Yeah, we swear!" Henry added, trying to convince everybody that we were telling the truth.

"There's only one way to tell if you eight are lying or not," Max stated.

    "And what's that?" Goomer asked.

Max then turned towards Billy. "Billy, can you please go fetch my Ghost Zapper? It can detect paranormal activity. It can also shoot ghosts, but if they are telling the truth, then we won't need to do that. It looks like a silver, rectangular gun. It should be on the table where Dr. Colosso's cage usually is in my evil lair back at home. Do you think that you could go get it for me?"

    "Sure, Max!" Billy cheerfully agreed.

At the speed of lighting, Billy used his super speed to run all the way back to his house, into Max's evil lair, grab Max's Ghost Zapper, and bring it all the way back to the Baton Rouge Juvenile Detention Center. When he had finally returned, he had a huge metal thing in his hands that looked as if it were a gun and that had a screen on top of it.

"Thank you, Billy!" Max thanked his little brother as he took his Ghost Zapper out of his hands.

    "You're welcome!" Billy replied.

Max pointed his Ghost Zapper towards Gibby, Freddie, Taylor, Frankie, Henry, Dice, Cat, and I. He looked down at it and read what was on its screen.

"Hmm, according to my Ghost Zapper, there are three ghosts nearby," Max observed, "And since Mr. Preston, Louie, and Miles are ghosts, that must mean that they are telling the truth!"

I always thought it was so odd that the ghosts had just left as soon as Nora said, "Sometimes I wish that we would have never became friends so none of these awful things would have never happened to us!"

But, I know that she didn't really mean that. I know that deep down inside, Nora really loves each and every one of us. She was just really frustrated at the time. I mean, she even explained to us that the only reason that she had said that was because if we had never met, none of those terrible things would have happened to us. All of the sudden, I remembered something that Taylor had said shortly after that.

"But if we would of never met, all of those horrible things would of happened anyway, and the situation would have been a lot worse!" Taylor told Nora.

Nora cocked her head at Taylor. "What do you mean by that?"

"Alright, let's just say that Sam, Phoebe, Cat, and I never decided to enter the Countrywide Sate Essay Contest. Do you think that would of stopped The Dark Twister and The Dark Hurricane from kidnapping Max, Phoebe, Carly, and Nevel?"

Nora thought for a moment. "I suppose not."

"And since you, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Billy, and Dr. Colosso would of been further away, do you think you would have gotten to that deserted island so fast?"

    Nora shook her head. "No."

"And since it would have been just you guys, do you think that you would have been as easy to beat them as it was?"

    "No, it wouldn't of been."

"And do you think that Max, Phoebe, and Carly-"

"I get your point, Taylor. Thank you for making me realize that. You guys are the greatest best friends in the world that anyone could ask for and I am the luckiest girl in the world to have you all! I shouldn't of said that. I guess that since I was so mad, it came out wrong. What I should've said that was if we would of never met, all of his wouldn't be dragged into so much drama."

"But if we we never got dragged into it, some of us could of gotten really hurt and some of our lives could of been affected in a really bad way," Miles stated, "It's better to have a bunch of people suffer a little bit than to have a small group of people severely injured."

"You know what, Miles?" A semi-tall teenage girl who had brown, wavy hair and brown eyes began, "You're right! You're really smart!"

    "Aww, thanks, Tori!"

And boy was Taylor right about what she said!

"But what if she wasn't the only one who thought about that?" I thought to myself, "What if what Nora said gave our enemies the idea to split us apart because they knew that we would be much weaker without our large circle of friendship? If so, how could they have done it?"

That's when I started to think about the crazy dream that Phoebe had that one night just a little bit before Charlotte, Dice, Cat, Taylor, Frankie, Gibby, Freddie, and Henry got possessed.

"PHOEBE, WAKE UP ALREADY!!!" Max hollered at Phoebe, causing her to open my eyes back up.

Phoebe to look at her surroundings. She was lying in her turquoise bed in her mostly-blue room and Mom, Hank, Max, Nora, Billy, and I were all surrounding her. She sat straight up in her bed and looked at us.

"How did we end up here?" she asked, "What just happened?"

"How did we end up here?" Max repeated, "Phoebe, we were all sleeping and you started screaming, so we came in your room to see what was happening!"

She plopped back into her bed and sighed out of relief. "Thank goodness it was all just a dream!"

"Thank goodness what was just a dream?" Mom repeated, "What did you dream about?"

"Did you have a nightmare?" Hank asked.

She nodded her head in response. "Yeah, I did and boy was it scary! It seemed so vivid and realistic too!"

"Really? Tell us what happened!" Nora ordered.

"I-I had this weird dream that we were all in the middle of a huge grass field with Dr. Colosso, Sam, Cat, Goomer, Dice, Nona, Henry, Charlotte, Captain Man, Frankie, Taylor, Miles, Louie, Ms. Hathaway, Mr. Preston, Spencerm Gibby, Freddie, Nora Dershlit, her friends who helped her kidnap Cat, Frankie, and Taylor, the vandals, The Dark Hurricane, The Dark Twister, The Howling Windstorm, The Howling Dust Devil, The Wicked Tsunami, and The Wicked Cyclone, a bunch of other super villains, and a bunch of other regular people," Phoebe began, "Then the other super villains used their telekinesis powers to make it so that we couldn't move, Twister pushed a button on his watch, which made a portal pop up, and the super villains pushed us through it. When we came out of the other side of the portal, we landed in the evil lair in Ghost World that we had to go to in order to rescue Cherry, Sarah, Ashley, Kelsey, Dr. Colosso, Sam, Spencer, Freddie, and Gibby. But before we could get up, Twister, Hurricane, Dust, Cyclone, Tsunami, Windstorm, Nora Dershlit, her friends, the vandals, and the other super villains came through the portal and landed on top of us, which caused us to go unconscious. By the time we all came to, we were all squished inside of the huge electric cage that we had trapped Cyclone, Tsunami, Windstorm, and Dust in. We all started to scream at them and that's when you guys woke me up. So, what was I screaming that made you guys come into my room?"

"You were screaming, 'NO, NO, NO!!! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!! IT JUST CAN'T BE!!!'," I told her.

"Woah, that's exactly what I was screaming in my dream! I must have been talking in my sleep!"

"Yeah, no dip!" Max said sarcastically.

"But, that was a really scary dream that you had, Phoebe!" Nora exclaimed, "If I was the one who had that dream, I would literally be shaking right now!"

"Were the other super villains ghosts too, Phoebe?" Hank asked.

I thought for a moment, trying to remember my horrifying dream. "I'm not too sure. I think they were friends of Cyclone, Windstorm, Hurricane, Twister, Tsunami, and Dust, so probably. Why?"

"Well, I want you all to come downstairs with me, so we can put our demonite necklaces on."

"Why!?!? What's going on!?!?" Billy asked sounding frightened.

Mom and Hank both looked at each other, then back at me, Nora, Billy, Max, and Phoebe.

"We don't mean to scare you kids, but usually when a supe has a dream that seems as if it were real and wakes up not knowing whether it was a dream or not, its usually a vision of the future," Mom explained.

All of our mouths hit the floor.

"So, you're basically telling me that there is a possibility of Phoebe's crazy dream actually coming true?" Max questioned.

Mom and Dad both nodded their heads in response.

"Pfffttt! That's the stupidest thing I've ever hear Phoebe's dreams aren't ever going to come true!"

"And neither are yours!" Phoebe snapped back at him.

"I wouldn't be acting like that if I were you kids," Hank told us, "I once had a really vivid nightmare once and it came true!"

"And so did I," Mom chimed in.

"So, we're all gonna end up in that cage one day!?!?" Nora asked, seeming scared.

"Well, when supes get dreams like that, its like their senses are warning them," Hank explained, "You see, when your mother and I had dreams like that and when the started to come true, since we remembered what had happened in our dreams, we were able to stop them from becoming true and able to stop anything really bad from happening."

"So, what if Mom and Hank were right?" I asked myself in my head, "What if Phoebe's dream was just a huge foreshadow and we were all going to end up in a huge cage one day? If so, what had happened to cause us to end up in the field that was in the beginning of her dream? Who were the regular people and the super villains that Phoebe didn't recognize? And what was the portal that she told us about?"

That's when I began thinking of portals. What was the purpose of the portal in Phoebe's dream? To teleport us to the evil lair in Ghost World? Not necessarily. I mean, portals don't pop out of the watches that Max made when we are teleporting somewhere. I mean, I know that you need a portal in order to get into Ghost World, but aren't they usually attached to old-fashioned mirrors? That was when I was reminded of a show that Spencer used to watch, Hector and Krystal.

"Hey, whatcha watchin', Spence?" I asked one day as soon as I had gotten back from School.

"Hector and Krystal," Spencer replied, his eyes glued to our flat screen tv.

    "Oh. What's it about?"

"It's about two teenage twins who have two completely different personalities, but yet are best friends and go through many exciting adventures. Wanna watch it with me?"

    "Um, sure!"

Spencer then made room for me on the living room couch as he scooted over towards the right side of the couch. I sat down to the left of him and looked up at the tv and started to watch Hector and Krystal.

On the tv screen, it showed two teenagers with blonde hair and blue eyes, one being a girl, while the other being a boy. The teenagers jumped out of this light-blue, oval-shaped portal and right in front of this empty field.

"Aw, I told you that we shouldn't of went back in time, Hector!" The girl hissed as she turned towards the boy, furious, "Look at what you did! By going back to the past and convincing the man who built our school to become something else, you changed the course of history to make it so it was never built!"

"Look at what I did!?!?" The boy that I now knew as Hector repeated, "You helped me!"

"You basically dragged me- no, blackmailed me into helping you! You said that if I didn't do it, then you would tell the whole entire school my secret!"

"Well, look on the bright side, Krystal," Hector began as he put his arm around her, "I can't tell the whole entire school your secret anymore because our school no longer exists!"

Spencer and I both laughed at Hector's joke.

And that's when it clicked with me. My eyes grew wide out of realization.

"Guys, I think that I know what our enemies did to cause us to never become friends," I announced.

Everyone turned to look at me, then asked excitedly, "Really!?!? What did they do!?!?"

"I think that they went back in time to when Mom, Hank, Phoebe, Max, Nora, Billy, Taylor, Frankie, Ms. Hathaway, Sam, and Cat all met up at Bots that one day and made it so they never met, causing our large friendship circle to never be formed."

"What makes you think that they did that?" Sam asked, coking her head at me.

"Well, I remember when we were in Baton Rouge, trying to free Charlotte, Dice, Cat, Taylor, Frankie, Gibby, Freddie, and Henry from prison, the ghosts that were possessing them knocked Nora out cold."

    "They did!?!?" Nora gasped.

    I nodded.

    "How dare they!"

"I know right! And, when you came to, you wished that we had never became friends, so that none of the horrible things that happened in the past would have happened. As soon as you said that, the ghosts just left and Charlotte, Dice, Cat, Taylor, Frankie, Gibby, Freddie, and Henry just went back to them normal selves. I am thinking that what you said gave them the idea to build a time machine, so that they could go back in time and destroy all of our friendships!"

Beck gasped. "And why would you think that they would do that?"

"I mean, just look at how many of us there are. If you weren't a part of our group, then would you want to get into a fight with us?"

Beck shook his head. "Definitely not! I'd totally lose!"

"See what I mean? We aren't as powerful when we aren't together, making it easier to take us down in smaller groups. Also, we make each other better people! I mean, just look at Max! Without good influence from Taylor, Cat, and Miles, I am assuming, he and Nevel betrayed me and Phoebe and let The Dark Twister and The Dark Hurricane, making them more powerful!"

"That's a good point you have there, Carly, but what did they do so that Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Phoebe, Max, Nora, Billy, Taylor, Frankie, Ms. Hathaway, Sam, and Cat never became friends?" Josh asked me.

I sighed. "I have no idea, Josh."

"Oh, my gosh, I think I remember what happened that day!" Taylor gasped out of realization.

"Really!?!?" We all asked excitedly as we turned towards Taylor, "You do!?!?"

"Yeah, it was the day I met the boy I interviewed for the Countrywide State Essay Contest, Dave Jefferson! Phoebe, Max, Billy, Nora, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, you guys were there! I remember!"

"What about me and Sam?" Cat asked.

Taylor thought for a moment, then sighed and lowered her head. "I don't remember you guys being there, I'm sorry..."

Cat sighed and lowered her head and sighed too. "It's fine, Taylor. So, go on."

"So, anyways, I spotted Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Phoebe, Max, Nora, and Billy all sitting down at a table, so I walked over to them and explained to them how I was doing the Countrywide State Essay Contest and how I had to interview someone from California. All of the sudden, Phoebe got really excited and told me that she got California too. That's when it occurred to me that the Thunderman's weren't from California either."

"Yeah, I remember that too," Phoebe interrupted, folding her arms, "Alright, so go on."

"So, that's when a young man told us that he wasn't a Californian, but knew one, and introduced them to Phoebe so she could interview them for the contest. I asked if they could introduce them to me too, but his friend said that they only knew one Californian. So, that's when another young man said that he wasn't a Californian either, but knew one. So, that's when he introduced me to Dave."

"Oh my gosh, I remember that night too!" Sam exclaimed, "I remember how Cat was eavesdropping on you guys and said you and Phoebe would be perfect to interview. She was about to tell you guys that we were from California, but that's when the first guy stepped in and showed you to their Californian friends, taking you guys away from us! We had to fly all the way to Louisiana and had to interview two annoying kids who we didn't even like because of that! Shortly after we got back, Cat was kidnapped."

"The two young men and their friend must've been them!" I gasped, "We need to go back in time right now and make it so that they never pushed you guys away from each other!"

"But, how, Carly?" Max Russo asked me.

"Carly, hand me the watch that I allowed you to borrow!" Max Thunderman ordered as he outstretched his hand, "I know exactly what to do!"

"What are you gonna do?" I queried as I unstrapped my watch from my wrist and handed it to Max.

"There is a date and time setting on here, so not only can this watch teleport us to any location that we can imagine, but it can also send us back to the past or into the future. Also, there is a return button that allows us to go back to what time it was when we left."

    "That's awesome!" Louie complimented him.

"Do you think that it could take us to when and where Mom, Taylor, and I met, Sam, Cat, Mr. and Mrs. Thunderman, Max, Phoebe, Nora, and Billy?" Frankie asked.

"That is what I'm trying to get it to do! Does anyone happen to remember what the date was and around what time it was when you guys first met?"

"Oh, I'll never forget that day! It was Saturday, April 5th, 2014!" Phoebe announced, "I believe that it was around 8:00 at night when the Hathaway's showed up!"

"Alright, thank you, Phoebe. I will set it for 7:45 P.M., which will give us some time. Does that sound good to you?"

We all nodded our heads in approval.

"Ok, does anyone happen to have the address of Bots memorized in their head?" Max Thunderman asked as soon as he was done setting the date and time.

"403 California Avenue," Sam, Cat, Dice, Goomer, and Nona all said in unison.

"Ok, and it is in Los Angeles, California, correct?"

    "Yup!"

    "Alright, thank you!"

    "You're welcome!"

"Ok, everyone, grab onto me and hold on tight!" Max Thunderman ordered as soon as he was done putting the address into his watch, "It is going to be quite a bumpy ride! Just kidding, but seriously, I do recommend for you to hold on tight!"

With that being said, we all followed Max Thunderman's orders and grabbed onto him. As soon as we did, he tapped a button on the touchscreen of his watch, causing us to disappear into tiny, blue molecules. Huh, no portal? I guess that Max's watch is just designed a bit differently from our enemies' time machine!

A/N: Hey, sorry that I took a little bit longer to update! I was really busy last week. I literally did something every day last week, no joke! And btw, Hector and Krystal is not a real show! It's just one that I made up for this chapter! Also, this book will be a continuation to RyanSmith020 's upcoming book , Mighty ThunderRats! Anyways, have a nice morning/afternoon/night! 😀
