Dakota's POV

I woke up in a great mood. Elena was gone and Katherine was locked up in the tomb. Everything was looking up. Stefan and I caught up last night. While Serena caught up with Damon. I was actually fine with going to school with Stefan this morning. We're at our lockers.

"So what do you want to do after school?" I ask Stefan.

"Don't know, what do you want to do?" he asks me curious.

"We could go to the grill, play some pool" I suggest.

"Sounds good" Stefan says with a smile. As Jeremy appears joining us. "Hey Jeremy" he says.

"Look, Elena's got to let me know if I'm supposed to cover for her. Jenna's cool with the two of you but you guys are pushing it" he tells him.

"What are you talking about?" Stefan asks him.

"You and Elena. Look, I'm glad you guys are back together but if she's gonna sleep over" Jeremy says.

"Wait, wait...hold on a minute. We're not back together" Stefan tells him.

"And Stefan spent all night catching up with me. While Damon was with Serena, Elena was probably with Bonnie or Caroline" I tell Jeremy.

"Wait...she didn't stay at your place last night?" he asks Stefan.

"No, I mean I saw her at the party but that was it. She didn't sleep over" Stefan tells him.

"Cause her bed hadn't been slept in and Mrs. Lockwood said that her car was still in the driveway. Where is she then?" Jeremy asks.

"I told you, ask Caroline or Bonnie" I tell him annoyed. "Come on Stefan" I say grabbing his arm.

"Dakota, Elena could be in danger" he tells me.

"So what? You're no dating, you said so yourself. Argo she is not your problem or our families problem" I tell him.

"I know you don't like her Dakota, but I still care about her. I need to know she's ok" he tells me.

"You're choosing her again, just like you choose Katherine. She is worse to Katherine ever was" I snap glaring at him. I storm off and go home.

"You're in a mood" Serena says when she sees.

"It's that bitch Elena, even when she's not here. She's ripping our family apart" I snap.

"Ah so that's why Damon went to see Bonnie" she says.

"What are we going to do?" I ask her.

"Elijah is already on his way to collect Elena. Anyone who tries to stop him from taking her will die. We can't lose our brothers" she states.

"So what? We go with them to make sure they don't get themselves killed?" I ask.

"Yes" she says.

"Fine" I grumble. We head for the school and meet up with Damon. We head over to Jeremy, Bonnie and Stefan. As Jeremy tells Stefan he can't go alone. "He's not" the three of us say and they look at us.

"Lets go" Damon says.

"You all are coming with me?" Stefan asks shocked.

"It's Elena" Damon says and I roll my eyes.

"It's you both, someone has to protect you" Serena states. We all get into Damon's car and head off. Serena and I in the back seat. We text each other while our brother's talk.

(Time skip)

So Serena and I came up with a plan. We'd stay with our respective twins. Stay out of sight unless they need us. We reached an abandoned house. We go inside and start to zoom around making noise. Stefan and I go upstairs. While Damon and Serena remained downstairs as Elijah appears with Rose & Elena.

Elijah hands Elena to Rose. "Up here" Stefan says. Elijah goes up the stairs with his super speed.

"Down here" Damon says and Elijah stops midway up the stairs. He receives in stake in his hand. Damon grabbed Rose while Stefan grabbed Elena. Stefan tells Elena to be quiet. While I glare at her from behind Stefan's back.

"Excuse me. To whom it may concern, you're making a great mistake if you think that you can beat me. You can't. Do you hear that?" Elijah asks us. As he makes a weapon. "I repeat, you cannot beat me. So I want the girl, I'm gonna count to three or heads will roll. Do we understand each other?" he asks as Stefan gives Elena a vervain grenade.

She steps into view of Elijah. "I'll come with you, just please don't my friends, they just wanted to help me out" she tells him. Elijah goes up the stairs with his super speed. He has the stake in his hand.

"What game are you playing with me?" he asks her. She throws the vervain bomb in his face. It explodes. His skin burns but he heals immediately. He goes toward Elena but Stefan arrives and shoots him with the compressed air weapon.

It doesn't hurt him so Stefan throws the weapon and rushes at Elijah and tackles him. They fall down the stairs. Elijah gets up immediately but Stefan stays on the floor. He goes toward Stefan but Damon appears and stakes Elijah. He pushes him against the door. Elijah is 'dead' and is pinned to the door with the stake.

Rose sees it and leaves. Damon tries to follow her. But Elena told him to let her go. She then hugged Stefan. "Get her out of here" I tell them.

"We'll deal with this" Serena says gesturing to Elijah.

"See you tonight" Damon says hugging us both before leaving. Stefan doesn't let go of Elena or thank us. He just nods his head and leads her away.

"That bitch, she needs to go" I snarl.

"And she will" Serena assures me as she approaches Elijah. "I'm surprised our brothers were able to do this to him. Guess Elijah is getting rusty with his old age" she says smirking as she removes the stake from him. His body drops to the floor.

Not long after Elijah begins to wake. Colour returning to his skin. "Wakey wakey" I say.

"Serena and Dakota Salvatore" he mutters.

"We're surprised our brothers were able to stake you" I tell him.

"Are you getting rusty Elijah?" Serena asks him with smirk.

"Where's the doppelganger?" he asks.

"Probably half way back to Mystic Falls" I sneer.

"We offer her to you on a silver plater and you let our brothers take her back" Serena says.

"You two?" he asks.

"Who do you think told Slater about the Doppelganger? Who made sure she was alone the night she was kidnapped? Who gave an anonymous tip knowing it'd get to you?" I ask him.

"We wanted her out of our brothers' lives, so that they'd be safe. Now they'll be in more danger then ever" Serena states.

"And you don't want to lose them" he says.

"Yes, now we'd be happy to help you. As long as you guarantee our brothers safety" Serena tells him. "We'll help you kill Klaus as long as you get Elena out of our brothers lives for good" she states.

"You mean kill her" he says.

"Klaus will do that, you just ensure our brothers don't die trying to rescue the bitch" I tell him.

"Very well, you have my word no harm will come to your brothers. By my hand or Klaus'. That Elena will be out of their lives for good once Klaus is dead" he tells us.

"Wonderful, now it's time to burn this place down. Then Dakota and I need to go home. Hope to see you soon Elijah" Serena tells him. He nods his head and leaves. We set the place on fire and run home.

We arrive t hear Stefan and Damon talking. "I'm sorry" Stefan tells Damon.

"About what?" he asks.

"For being the guy who made you and our sisters turn 145 years ago" Stefan states.

"Enough Stef, it's late. Don't need to rehash that" Damon tells him.

"You know what? I've never said it out loud. I guess I just need to say it and you need to hear it. I'm sorry. What I did was selfish. I didn't want to be alone. I guess I just needed my brother and sisters" Stefan tells him.

I rush forward and hug him. "I love you Stefan, you won't ever be alone" I tell them.

"None of us will be" Serena states. "House was burnt down, we're gonna go clean up and go to bed" she tells them. Our brothers nod their heads in understanding. Serena I go upstairs to shower and get ready for bed. Before calling it a night.
