"220 A.D." Violet said. "Holy Roman Empire" Stefan said. "Not really an empire but 1648" Elena said. "Wrong" Violet said. "There goes your perfect school" Stefan said and sat up.

"What no that was right" Elena said and went to Stefan. "No, no, no, the book says 1806" Stefan said.

"Okay well 1806 may technically be right but it was the peace of Westphalia that truly ended the empire and that was in 1648 trust me" Elena said.

"Okay Lena how do you know this" Violet asked suspiciously. "I may have done a paper on the Holy Roman Empire in high school" Elena said.

"Well, if you want to pass the test, I suggest you write down exactly what's in your textbook" Stefan said and there was a knock on the door.

"Sounds like Caroline's here" Violet said. "I asked the sheriff to help me and Violet to track down Damon" Stefan said and got up going to answer the door with Violet following him.

As soon as Stefan answered the door Caroline walked in.

"You were right he's off the rails this is from my mom" Caroline said giving Stefan the folder.

"Hello to you too" Violet said. "Let me guess missing persons and animal attacks" Stefan said.

"Check and check" Caroline told Stefan. "There's something else all the victims were found inside their homes without their head and their skin was desiccated" Caroline said.

"Like a vampire" Violet said as she and Stefan realized. "Damon's feeding on vampires" Stefan said.

"Uncle Stef she's right not even I could stop him he's acting out my dad may love me, but this is different he's completely heartbroken I know he is he's hurt over Elena I know my dad nothing could have stopped him from going after Wes believe me" Violet said.

"I guess Wes must have injected him with whatever he was gonna give Elena that makes vampires feed on vampires" Stefan said.

"Good news bad news, bad news is that when this happened to Jesse, we had to kill him, but the good news is" Caroline said and stopped.

"I'm sorry usually there's some good news" Caroline said. "I have to find him" Stefan said.

"Well, I can come with you" Elena said walking in. "Elena hey I didn't know that you were here" Caroline said noticing Elena. "Well Stefan has been helping me study" Elena said.

"Yeah, he was helping me at first considering I needed a break from all the people before you joined in" Violet said. "Oh, Stefan who doesn't go to college" Caroline said.

"Stefan who's an expert in history" Elena said as Violet looked at her suspicious.

"Uh huh I'm" Caroline said as her phone rang and looked at the caller ID.

"It's Tyler I haven't really spoken to him since the um incident" Caroline said. "Oh, so we're calling the stunt he pulled an incident good to know" Violet said.

"The incident you mean the time where he almost killed you" Stefan said and Caroline answered her phone.

"Hey" Caroline said on the phone. "Hey, have you talked to Matt" Tyler asked.

"No why" Caroline asked. "Because it turns out Nadia's been compelling him to forget things Matt said he was gonna avoid her but now I haven't heard from him" Tyler said.

"Do you think that he's in trouble" Caroline asked. "He hasn't been at home or at work and his cell phone goes straight to voicemail" Tyler said.

"Okay well I'll come right over and" Caroline said. "No that's not why I called" Tyler said.

"No, I know but I think that we can figure this out together I'll bring Vi with me I'll see you soon" Caroline said and hung up.

"Maybe I should come with you" Elena said. "No, no you deal with Damon we can handle this besides it's time that we move into the next phase of our post breakup pre-friendship relationship timeline" Caroline said.

"Plus, I'll stop them from killing each other if necessary" Violet said. "Okay I'm gonna stay out of that one" Elena said.

"I'm gonna get some clothes and you'll pick me up at my dorm" Elena said to Stefan.

"Sure" Stefan said, and Elena left. "Bad news is Tyler hates you, but the good news is  hmm well I guess the good news is you'll have Violet in case he tries anything" Stefan said.

"It'll be fine we both have weird ex friend situations" Caroline said.

"We there's nothing weird going on between Elena and me" Stefan said. "Come on Stefan" Caroline said.

"She's literally throwing herself at you" Violet said.

"First she tells you that she's gonna fight to get Damon back and then she rebreaks up with him and now she's with you her ex studying" Caroline said.

"She's here with her friend studying without the implied quotes" Stefan said.

"Look I'm just saying that Elena and Damon's breakup is messy, and you are not messy" Caroline said, and Violet interrupted her.

"I'm gonna stop you here before you say something that makes me want to put a stake in your heart as much as. I love my uncle Elena belongs with my dad the Elena that's throwing herself at my uncle I don't know who that is but it's not Elena something else is going on we don't know about Elena is good for my dad and my dad is good for Elena so before you say anything else bad about my dad is choose your words careful before I rip your heart out" Violet said and left.

Tyler walked in the room and gave Caroline coffee. "Thank you" Caroline said and for a moment it was silent.

"This is gonna be awkward" Violet said. "Mm that's good coffee" Caroline said, and it was silence once again. "Although I usually take mine with a little more awkward silence" Caroline said.

"Nice try but you don't take anything with silence" Tyler said causing Caroline to laugh. "So, Matt he's missing" Caroline asked.

"I don't know if he's missing, he just hasn't been, home in two days and he's not answering his phone" Tyler said. "Well, well, well, look who walked in" Violet said as she saw Matt.

"Matt" Caroline said once she and Tyler saw Matt and stood up facing him.

"Caroline what are you doing here" Matt asked. "Kind of wondering the same thing" Tyler said and stood up as Violet did the same.

"Where have you been" Tyler asked Matt. "Did I give you my sunglasses" Nadia asked and looked up seeing Tyler, Caroline, and Violet.

"Oh, hello I thought you said they wouldn't be home" Nadia said. "Wait you and Nadia" Violet said confused. "Okay rewind, start over this whole time you've been with Nadia" Caroline asked.

"It's a long story" Matt told Caroline. "Nadia come on in" Matt said and Nadia walked in.

"Huh you sure have a thing for older vampires first Rebekah now Nadia" Violet said. "Subtlety's not my strong suit" Nadia said as Matt sat next to her.

"I felt bad about compelling him and bad about snapping your neck again subtlety" Nadia said.

"So why haven't you been answering your phone" Tyler asked. "Uh I lost it the first night" Matt said. "First night where" Caroline asked.

"Atlantic City I'd never been neither had Matt" Nadia said. "1 drink led to 3 and to 5 and then uh the rest is kind of a blur" Matt said. "Yeah, because she's compelling you" Caroline said.

"Caroline I'm wearing vervain she's not compelling me" Matt said.

"Care don't do anything stupid" Violet said seeing Caroline going to Matt. "Where have you been the last two days" Caroline asked Matt compelling him.

"I told you she's not compelling me we're having fun" Matt said.

"Oh, fun just like the time she buried you alive whoo pop open the champagne" Caroline said. "I thought you said she'd be cool with us hanging out" Nadia said to Matt.

"And what is that supposed to mean" Caroline asked. "Uh" Matt said as Nadia stood up facing Caroline. 

"It means you've done nothing but judge Matt since he walked through that door when everyone here knows you're not exactly winning friends with your romantic choices" Nadia said.

"Wow too far" Violet said. "Isn't that right Tyler" Nadia asked Tyler ignoring Violet.

"I don't want to be a part of this" Tyler said and left the room. "Nice going" Violet said, and Caroline followed Tyler.

"Thought you might need this" Violet said giving Tyler a blood bag. "You always carry a blood bag with you" Tyler asked. "I like to be prepared" Violet said causing Tyler to smile.

"You know you're not that bad" Tyler said. "Geh thanks" Violet said.

"They're lying you know may not sound like it, but I don't trust Nadia if it was me, I'd do anything to keep my parents from dying anything" Violet said. "Don't trust her cause I don't" Violet added.

"Also, Caroline may have hurt you, but you know she didn't mean to and let's not forget you walked out on her for revenge" Violet said.

"Going somewhere" Caroline asked Nadia. "Actually, I am and you're in my way" Nadia said and Matt walked in.

"Matt are you okay" Caroline asked him. "Yeah" Matt told her.

"Why what's going on here" he asked. "You texted me from Nadia's phone" Caroline said and saw Matt was confused as she looked back at Nadia.

"So, you compelled him again" Caroline said. "And they say blondes are dumb" Nadia said.

Caroline then vamp sped to Nadia pinning her against a wall. "What are you doing to him" Caroline asked.

"Tell me" she said. Nadia then used her vampire speed to move them so now Caroline was pinned to the wall. "Nadia stop" Matt said.

"You may not remember Matt, but this is your fault trust me" Nadia said. "Violet" Caroline yelled.

Violet sped in the room and knocked Nadia off Caroline using her magic to keep her down. "I would kill your myself, but I hear torture is more fun" Violet said. "Tyler" she yelled.

Tyler sped in the room and got on Nadia. "I got it Violet it's okay let go" Tyler said and Violet hesitated but did so and went to Caroline making sure she was okay.

"Young hybrid beats old vampire every time" Tyler said and Nadia does on top of him before Tyler sped back on top of her and bit her.

Nadia knocked him off of her and sped away. "What a second does anyone want to tell me how this is my fault" Matt asked as Violet went to Tyler helping him up.
