Klaus went over to Violet who was sat on his bed in his hotel room. "I'm surprised you called" Klaus said and offered her a drink.

"Me too" Violet said and took the drink. Klaus noticed her facial expression and sat next to her.

"You look upset" Klaus said. "Yeah, uh Jeremy Gilbert my boyfriend well I guess ex-boyfriend now cheated on me with a ghost imagine that" Violet said upset.

"How could someone cheat on someone as beautiful as you" Klaus asked and Violet slightly smiled.

"Is there anything I can do" Klaus asked and Violet faced him. "Help me forget it" Violet said.

"And how do you supposed do that" Klaus asked and Violet kissed him. Violet pulled away after a moment and Klaus understood what she was asking.

"Very well" Klaus said and resumed to her lips before kissing her neck.

Violet took off Klaus's shirt and Klaus tossed it and took off Violet's shirt before resuming to her neck.

"Klaus" Violet said. That was all Klaus needed to hear before laying her down on the bed and kissed her lips where things got heated.

"You did what" Caroline said over the phone. "Yeah, I know but don't judge or else I will come through this phone and hit you and then give you aneurysm you never experienced before" Violet said.

"Okay got it" Caroline said. "Hey, he can't hear us can he" Caroline asked.

"No, he's in the shower he's going to drop me off when he gets out" Violet said. "Well besides that how was he" Caroline asked. "I'm hanging up now" Violet said and hung up.

Violet met up with Elena and Alaric in the tunnels once Klaus dropped her off using his vampire speed. Violet eventually spotted Elena and Alaric and caught up to them.

"Hey" Violet said to them. "That was fast" Alaric said. "I was in the area" Violet said lying and Alaric nodded.

"So, the Lockwood's really have no idea that these tunnels are underneath their property" Elena asked. 

"Yeah, careful where you shine that thing bats hate the light" Alaric said.

"Wait what" Elena said. "Relax their just bats But I'll protect you if I need to" Violet said and Elena smiled at her. "Thanks Vi" Elena said.

"Elena" Violet heard Damon whisper, but Elena turned around scared only to be relieved it was just Damon. "Boo" Damon said. "God Damon" Elena said.

"Scaredy cat" Damon said. "Really dad" Violet asked annoyed. "Just ignore him that's what I do" Alaric said.

"So, you really can't get in" Elena asked Damon. "No seems even the ancient Lockwood's were anti vampire" Damon said.

"What do you mean ancient" Elena asked. "See for yourself this is as far as I get to go" Damon said and Alaric, Elena, and Violet went down the tunnels farther when they saw engravings in the wall. 

"What is all this" Elena asked. "Well as far as I can tell it's a story in simple archaeological terms it's a really old story" Alaric said.

"That right there is a moon cycle" Alaric said pointing to it. "A man, a wolf" Alaric said motioning to the pictures.

"A werewolf" Violet said. "Yeah, it's the Lockwood diaries Pictionary style" Damon said.

"I don't understand I thought the Lockwood's came here with the original founders in the 1860s" Elena said.

"Well maybe the Lockwood's did but according to this wall these werewolves have been here a lot longer than that" Alaric said. "And how long exactly" Violet asked.

"Long, gets better show them Ric" Damon said. "Names and they're not metic" Alaric said motioning to the names. "They're written in runic a Viking script" Alaric said.

"Vikings" Elena asked. "This name here when translated it reads Niklaus" Alaric said. "Klaus" Elena said realizing.

"And Elijah and Rebekah" Alaric said motioning to the names.

"These are the names of the original family" Elena asked.

"Carved into a cave that's been here since way before the founding of Mystic Falls or even the entire new world for that matter" Alaric said.

"Okay this has gotta be one of Klaus's fakes" Elena said. "That's what I said" Damon said.

"That could be true except the last name up here made us think otherwise" Alaric said. "What's the name" Elena asked. 

"Mikael" Alaric said. "Mikael, Mikael as in the vampire hunter who knows how to kill Klaus" Elena asked.

"Yep" Damon told Elena. "And I like to call him papa original" Damon said.

"These images tell a story to learn the story you have to decipher these images" Alaric said.

"Sloppy" Damon told Elena. "Shut up I'm new at this" Elena said.

"The ghost of Christmas past Mason Lockwood said that the cave would lead us to a weapon that could kill Klaus" Damon said.

"Yeah, but doesn't Mikael have a weapon" Elena asked. "Yes, which probably means the wall will lead us to Mikael who we've already found and lost" Damon said.

"Bang you're dead" Damon said to Elena and pretended to bite her.

"These images at the very least might tell us what that weapon is" Alaric said and Elena went to Alaric.

"Then all we have to do is find out what they mean" Violet said. "Well fine, fine if I'm being irritably optimistic like you three how do you suppose we do that" Damon asked.

"Well, if the story's, about the original family living here then we go straight to the source" Elena said. "Rebekah" Violet said.

Rebekah did a cartwheel until she was face to face with Elena and Violet. "You, goody" Rebekah said to Elena.

"And you brought the Salvatore Witch who I semi like" Rebekah said smiling at Violet. "I was hoping we could talk" Elena said. "About what Stefan" Rebekah asked.

"Don't worry I'm off of him until he starts treating me better in fact you should probably take a page out of my book if I'm being honest" Rebekah said.

"Actually, I'd rather talk about this" Elena said showing Rebekah.

"I'm curious why you and Klaus have spent a thousand years running from your father" Elena said.

"I should get back to the girls' homecoming's, around the corner" Rebekah said going to leave when Elena stopped her.

"Then maybe I'll ask Mikael when we wake him" Elena said.

"You're bluffing" Rebekah said facing Elena. "Actually, she's not" Violet said.

"You don't know where he is no one does" Rebekah said. "So, then who's rotting in that old cemetery in Charlotte" Elena asked.

"If you wake Mikael, we are all doomed" Rebekah said. "So then tell me" Elena said. "Why do you want to know" Rebekah asked. "Why don't you want me to wake him" Elena asked.

"I need to get back to the girls" Rebekah said and left. "I think you got to her" Violet said.

"She's going to tell me she's scared of him Damon I saw her face I just have to engage in a little mean girl power struggle first" Elena said and walked into Alaric's apartment with Violet.

"Make sure she doesn't power struggle you into a wheelchair" Damon said.

"I've got this Damon if we can figure out a way to kill Klaus, Stefan will be free of his compulsion" Elena said.

"So how does he look" Elena asked. "Mm pasty and pouty" Damon said. "He'll have to get over it call me later" Elena said and hung up. "Rebekah will come around" Elena said.

"You sure about that" Alaric asked. "I mean a thousand-year-old vampire I'm sure has learned the art of patience" Alaric said.

"She's a thousand-year-old vampire who's joined the cheerleading squad there's a whole different set of rules to play here Ric I've got this" Elena said.

"And I'll be with her relax I won't let anything happen to Lena; I rather die myself than let that happen" Violet said.

Elena and Violet went back to the Salvatore boarding house after Rebekah invited Elena over.

Rebekah went over to Violet and Elena. "Hey what's up" Rebekah asked before putting some dishes down. "You invited me over to talk" Elena said.

"Alright girls have at it" Rebekah said and compelled girls came out wearing dresses.

"Okay now twirl please" Rebekah said and they twirled.

"You've compelled your own private runaway show" Elena asked. "I need a homecoming dress so what do you think pick one" Rebekah said.

"I'm not here to help you shop I'm here to talk about why you don't want me to wake up Mikael" Elena said. Rebekah vamp sped to a girl with her fangs out.

Violet was prepared to use her magic, but Elena stopped her shaking her head and Violet backed down.

"I said pick one Elena" Rebekah said. "The red one" Elena said. "Huh I would've gone with the blue" Violet said.

"There that wasn't so hard was it" Rebekah asked putting her fangs back. "Go away remember nothing" Rebekah said to the compelled girls and they left. 

Rebekah picked up a glass and went towards Elena.

"You do not threaten me you will learn what I allow you to learn" Rebekah said. "Is that clear" Rebekah asked and Elena nodded.

Violet stepped in front of Elena. "You may be an original and I may not be able to do much but know this if you lay on finger on her I will not hesitate to use my magic and torture you in ways you never thought was possible" Violet said.

"How fun is this" Rebekah asked walking in Stefan's room. "We shouldn't be here" Elena said.

"Of course, we should come on like you've never wanted to snoop" Rebekah said. "Boxer briefs" Rebekah said showing Stefan's boxers. "Now that's a change from the 20s" Rebekah said.

"You do remember Stefan is my uncle right why would I want to see that" Violet asked.

"Are you gonna go through his stuff all night or are you gonna start to tell me your story" Elena asked. "You really are no fun" Rebekah said sighing. "What do you want to know" Rebekah asked.

"Well Elijah said that your father was a landowner in Europe how did you guys end up here" Elena asked.

"My parents had just started a family when a plaque struck their homeland, they lost a child to it they wanted to escape and protect their future family from the same fate" Rebekah said.

"So how did you end up here" Violet asked. "This part of the world hadn't been discovered yet" Elena said.

"Not by anyone in your history books but my mother knew the witch Ayana who heard from the spirits of a mystical land where everyone was healthy blessed by the gifts of speed and strength that led my family here where we lived amongst those people" Rebekah said. "The werewolves" Elena asked.

"To us they were just our neighbors my family lived in peace with them for over 20 years during which time my family had more children including me" Rebekah said.

"You make it sound so normal" Elena said. "It was once a month our family retreated to the caves beneath our village the wolves would howl through the night and by morning we'd return home one full moon Klaus and my youngest brother Henrik snuck out to watch the men turn into beasts that was forbidden Henrik paid the price and that was the beginning of the end of peace with our neighbors and one of the last moments my family had together as humans" Rebekah said and Elena's phone buzzed.

"You better get that that'll be Damon checking up on you" Rebekah said. "Hello" Elena said as soon as she answered. "Hey" Damon said.

"Damon where are you" Elena asked. "No idea but I'm pretty sure I'm overdressed" Damon said.

"Are you and Vi still standing" Damon asked. "Yes, we're fine but I can't talk right now" Elena said. "I'll be at the bar" Elena heard Stefan tell Damon.

"Was that Stefan" Elena asked causing Violet to look at her. "Yeah, I kind of went off book but don't worry I know what I'm doing" Damon said.

"Damon how could you let him out" Elena asked. "I've got this Elena" Damon said and hung up.

"Did you get your fill of snooping yet can we get in with the story" Elena asked Rebekah.

Rebekah got off the bed and went to the table Elena was sat at and saw a picture of Stefan and Elena along with a picture of Violet and Stefan when Violet was younger.

"Is that you" Rebekah asked Violet who nodded. "Wow I never seen Stefan smile like that" Rebekah told Violet causing Violet to look.

"Honestly I don't get you two as a couple" Rebekah said to Elena looking at the picture of Elena and Stefan once again.

"Why would you, you don't know anything about who he really is" Elena said.

"I know exactly who he is he's a vampire we're a predatory species we don't have time to care about humans and their silly little lives" Rebekah said.

"Is that why you did that runaway show earlier because you don't care about the homecoming dance" Elena asked.

"You know what I'm just gonna go" Elena said going to leave when Rebekah stopped her. "You haven't even heard half the story" Rebekah said.

"And you're not going to tell it" Elena said facing her.

"You're just bored and looking for someone to push around find someone else to play with maybe you can compel yourself a friend" Elena said.

"The necklace wasn't Stefan's to give it belonged to the original witch" Rebekah said. "The one who put the hybrid curse on Klaus" Violet asked.

"Not just the hybrid curse, she's the one who turned us into vampires" Rebekah said. "I'm thirsty do you want a drink" Rebekah asked leaving the room.

Elena and Violet both followed Rebekah. "So, vampirism was a form of protection" Elena asked. "What else would it be" Rebekah asked.

"A curse" Elena said. "My parents only sought a way of keeping their children alive" Rebekah said. "Yeah, but why stay if they were so afraid of the werewolves why not leave" Elena asked. 

"Pride my father didn't want to run anymore he wanted to fight and be superior to the wolves where they could bite, we had to bite harder where they had speed, we had to be faster agility, strength, senses" Rebekah said and told the story of how it was in Esther's hands to turn them to vampires.

"In her hands how could she do anything" Violet asked. "Because my mother was also a witch" Rebekah said.

"What" Elena said. "The witch of the original family the original witch" Rebekah said. 

"Any idea where your dad or uncle keep their best vintage" Rebekah asked Violet. "But if your mother was a witch then" Elena said.

"Am I, no, a witch is nature's servant a vampire is an abomination of nature you can either be one or the other never both, my mother did this for us she did not turn" Rebekah said.

"How did you turn" Elena asked. "She called upon the sun for life and the ancient white oak tree one of nature's eternal objects for immortality that night my father offered us wine laced with blood and then he drove his sword through our hearts" Rebekah said.

"He killed you" Elena said. "And he wasn't delicate about it either" Rebekah said and told how Mikael forced them to become vampires.

"It was euphoric the feeling of power was indescribable but the witch Ayana was right about the consequences the spirits turned on us and nature fought back for every strength there would be a weakness the sun became our enemy it kept us indoors for weeks and then my mother found a solution there were other problems neighbors who had opened their homes to us could now keep us out flowers at the base of the white oak burned and prevented compulsion and the spell decreed that the tree that gave us life could also take it away so we burned it to the ground but the darkest consequence was something my parents never anticipated the hunger blood had made us reborn and it was blood that we craved above all else we could not control it and with that the predatory species was born" Rebekah said. 

"Why did Mikael start hunting Klaus" Elena asked. "When Nik made his first human kill it triggered his werewolf gene with that, he became my father's greatest shame" Rebekah said.

"All because he was a wolf but it's not his fault, he was born that way" Violet said.

"Elijah told us this part of the story your mother had an affair with one of the werewolf villagers Klaus wasn't his son" Elena said.

"She tried to make it right she put the hybrid curse on Nik to suppress his werewolf side and then she turned her back on him but Mikael's greatest weakness as a human was his pride as a vampire that was magnified, he went on a rampage and killed half the village then he came home and killed her" Rebekah said.

"Mikael killed your mother" Elena asked. "He said she broke his heart so he would break hers he tore it from her chest as Nik watched afterwards my father took off in a rage and the rest of my family scattered Nik stayed so he could help me bury her he knew I had to say goodbye to my mother" Rebekah said told them about the vow of always and forever.

"Always and forever even though he locked you in a coffin for 90 years" Elena said.

"We're vampires our emotions are heightened I'm stubborn Elijah moral and Nik, Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him over a thousand years as a family we've all made that mistake at least once I've made it several times" Rebekah said.

"But you still love him" Elena asked. "He's my brother and I am immortal should I spend an eternity alone instead you've heard the story it's time to go" Rebekah said.

"I said leave Elena I don't know what you're up to, but I am no longer playing along" Rebekah said after seeing Elena wasn't leaving. 

"I'm just looking for one good reason by we shouldn't wake Mikael" Elena said.

"And I've given you a thousand, but you will anyway I know you want him to help you kill my brother I'm not stupid" Rebekah said.

"It's no secret that I want Klaus dead he has a hold over Stefan's life and over mine" Elena said.

"Do what you need wake Mikael at your own peril but make no mistake if you come after my brother, I will rip you apart and I get my temper from my father now leave" Rebekah said. 

"Just like how I get mine from my dad so back off" Violet told Rebekah. "Come on Lena it's time to go" Violet said leading her out.

"Yeah, filled in what we could got vampire" Alaric said motioning to the image. "Werewolf" Alaric said motioning to it. "Slaughter" Alaric said and motioned to it.

"Mayhem et cetera et cetera" Alaric said. "Thats the white oak tree that was used in the spell to create the vampires" Elena said motioning to the image of the tree.

"Which means that was when they burned down the tree destroying the only way that they could be killed" Violet said motioning to the image.

"Okay so tree equals weapon sort of, but we already knew that what we're not sure about is this" Alaric said and shown the image.

"We've got the witch symbol and what looks like bleeding-heart upside-down figures usually signify death of some kind" Alaric said.

"Mikael killed the witch by ripping out her heart" Elena said.

"But why is that one connected to the witch's death" Elena asked motioning to the image.

"I don't know we haven't gotten that far" Bonnie said. "Elena" Violet said after figuring it out. "Oh my god" Elena said once she realized what Violet was saying.

"Rebekah doesn't know the real story" Elena said. "Klaus killed the witch not Mikael" Violet said.
