Elena was at the grill with Violet when Damon appeared next to Violet. "Well, this isn't going to be good" Violet said.

Elena looked confused till she noticed him and sighed. "What do you want" Elena asked.

"So, this is where you spend your time when you're not stabbing people in the back" Damon said. "I tricked you into telling me the truth that's not stabbing you in the back that's using your own tactics against you" Elena said.

"Where are you going" Damon asked. "I made myself clear Damon I want nothing to do with you" Elena said and got up.

"People say that but never mean it even if they think that they really mean it" Violet said.

"Okay see you at Jenna's barbecue" Damon said. "How did you know about Jenna's barbecue" Elena asked.

"It was my idea Jenna went to high school with Mason Lockwood so I figured a social would be a good way to get to know the guy I told Ric to tell Jenna and" Damon said.

"Does Jenna know that you're going to be there" Elena asked. "Because she's not exactly a fan of yours" Elena told Damon. "She loves Violet but not you" Elena said.

A waiter came over and gave Damon a box of a peach cobbler before leaving.

"Perfect thank you I'm hoping this peach cobbler will pave the way" Damon said and got up. "What are you up to" Elena asked. "Probably nothing good" Violet said.

"I'm gonna put some silver into Mason Lockwood and prove he's a werewolf see you at the barbecue" Damon said.

"Please tell me I'm not gonna end up as an orphan or worse raised by Stefan" Violet said. "No of course not" Damon said and left.

"Oh, hey Jeremy" Violet said as she saw him while she was on her way to Elena's. "Hey Vi" Jeremy said. "You going to the barbecue" Jeremy asked.

"Uh yeah Elena invited me" Violet said and Jeremy nodded. "Hey, I'm sorry about Anna, I know you liked her" Violet told Jeremy.

"Thanks, means a lot" Jeremy said. "Hey, you know I'm always here for you right" Violet asked.

"Yeah of course" Jeremy said and Violet nodded and left.

Jeremy watched her leave wishing she was in his arms instead of going to the barbecue and it was in that moment that Jeremy realized he was catching feelings for Violet the girl who was always there for him even if it hurt her in the process seeing him with someone else.

Violet was with Elena helping in the kitchen. "Oh, hey thanks for inviting me being the only girl in the house well" Violet said. "No worries I get it and your always welcome" Jenna said and Violet smiled.

"Thanks for letting me invite Caroline she could use a day of distraction" Elena said.

"Well, she's not the plus one I'm worried about" Jenna said going over to Elena and Violet. "Why is Damon coming" Jenna asked.

"Because Alaric is a pity taker come on Jenna be nice, he's still Violet's dad rather we like it or not" Elena said. "No, I get it he can be a bit much and sometimes he's not the best but nobody's perfect so" Violet said.

"I'll be nice when Damon learns to keep his paws off you" Jenna said. "Ah good news found the shot glasses" Mason said coming in.

"That would be my exit" Elena said. "Mine too" Violet said.

"Oh, wait I'm sorry who are you" Mason asked Violet. "I must have missed you when I came here" Mason said.

"Violet, Violet Salvatore" Violet said. "Salvatore" Mason said shocked. "Yeah, as in Damon Salvatore he's my dad" Violet said leaving with Elena.

Violet found Elena outside and sat next to her as Elena tried to get ahold of Stefan once again.

"Hey um just checking in" Elena said over the phone. "Did you get my message about Jenna's barbecue" Elena asked.

Both Elena and Violet saw Caroline coming over. "Call me when you can" Elena said and hung up when Caroline sat down in the empty chair across from them. "Was that Stefan" Caroline asked.

"Yeah, he hasn't called me back I'm trying to decide if I should be worried" Elena said.

"I'm sure he's fine" Caroline said and are some chips. "God I cannot stop eating Stefan says it's a great way so sublimate the cravings well it's horrible just fighting the urge for blood every minute of every day" Caroline said.

"I know that Stefan really hates that part of himself" Elena said. "Well yeah and he hates that you're a constant temptation" Caroline said.

"He said that" Elena asked. "The desire to rip out your jugular every time he's with you trust me it's there" Caroline said. "He's a vampire Lena it's always going to be there" Violet said.

"You know it's why I had to break up with Matt" Caroline said.

"Well personally I don't think Matt was right for you" Violet said and Alaric came out. "Hey, the food's ready come get it" Alaric said and went back inside.

"Finally, I am starving" Caroline said and went inside. "See you inside" Violet asked Elena. Elena nodded and Violet went inside.

Damon, Mason, Violet, Jenna, and Alaric were all playing charades. Everyone except Mason and Violet were all trying to guess what Damon was drawing.

"Dress, ballerina" Jenna said. "Puppy, puppy, puppy with a tutu" Caroline said. "No" Damon said.

"Okay dog hound- hound dog you ain't nothing but a hound dog" Jenna said. "Dances with wolves" Mason said.

"Mason wins again" Damon said. "How is that a wolf" Jenna asked. "My dad's not the best artist" Violet said. "Thanks sweetie means a lot" Damon said glaring at Violet. "Love you too dad" Violet said smiling.

Violet was with Caroline and Elena while Damon, Jenna, and Mason were having peach cobbler.

"Would I be the worst friend in the world if I abandoned you and Violet and went to Stefan's" Elena asked.

"What no of course not I'll even go with you" Violet said. "You want to leave" Caroline asked.

"It's just that he hasn't gotten back to me and I'm starting to get this bad feeling" Elena said. "I don't think that's a good idea Elena" Caroline said. 

"Damon's got it under control here" Elena said. "Take it from me there's nothing worse than a clingy girlfriend" Caroline said.

"I'm not being clingy I'm just concerned" Elena said. "You understand right" Elena asked. "Come on let's go" Violet said and was about to leave with Elena when Caroline stopped them.

"How about I drive you" Caroline offered. "Yeah, okay that'll be great thanks" Elena said.

"Yeah" Caroline said, and Violet left with Elena while Caroline followed them. Elena and Violet got in the car with Violet in the back and Elena in the passengers. Caroline got in the drivers and drove off.

"Thanks for this I appreciate it" Elena told Caroline. "Here we come to the rescue" Caroline said. "Why are you being so snippy" Elena asked.

"Yeah, you're not acting like yourself" Violet said. "That's my own drama" Caroline told them. "But I'm sure that you two will beat the odds not that there's any study to pull odds from" Caroline told Elena.

"What is the ratio of success for vampire human couplings" Caroline asked. "Well I'm guessing nil" Caroline said. "Okay Caroline" Elena said.

"That is my uncle so can we dial it down please" Violet asked. "Sorry" Caroline said. "I love this song" Elena said turning the radio up. "What's playing" Caroline asked Siri.

"Playing we radiate by Goldfrapp" Siri said. "Ta da" Caroline said. Suddenly the car started to act weird. "Oh crap" Caroline said pulling over.

"Are you sure the tow's coming" Elena asked Caroline. "We've been waiting forever" Elena said. "I know it's weird" Caroline said. "We could walk it" Violet offered. 

"I know it's weird they said they'd be here by now" Caroline said. "Yeah, I'm just gonna call Jenna" Elena said.

"No let me try the tow people again and I'll use my aggrieved voice" Caroline said. "Caroline why are you acting so weird" Violet asked. "We can just walk from here like Vi said" Elena said.

"No, I can't just leave my car" Caroline said. "We'll come back for it" Elena said.

"Just give me a minute Elena" Caroline said. "Caroline what part of I'm worried about Stefan didn't sink in" Elena asked.

"Care we won't even be gone that long" Violet said. "What's the rush" Caroline asked.

"Why are you hurrying to get to a relationship that'll never work" Caroline asked Elena. "Little harsh Care" Violet said. "Okay look I know that you're upset over Matt" Elena said.

"But will you stop projecting it onto me and Stefan please" Elena asked. 

"I'm not projecting anything you're human he's a vampire you're gonna be 70 and in diapers and he's still gonna be smoking hot and you will never have his children Elena and you are too maternal to not have children" Caroline said.

"Where is this coming from" Elena asked. "I'm just trying to be your friend" Caroline said. "Well maybe you need a lesson" Violet said.

"Okay well do me a favor and stop trying there's the tow I'm gonna walk come on Vi" Elena said walking with Violet. "No Elena, Violet don't" Caroline said stopping them.

"Ahh Caroline you're hurting me" Elena said. "Don't leave me alone" Caroline said. "What's wrong with you" Elena asked.

"Hey there someone call about a flat tire" the toe guy asked. "She did" Elena said and left with Violet.

Elena and Violet walked into the house looking for Stefan. "Stefan" Elena said.  Elena sensed someone behind her and turned around causing Violet to do as well.

"Wow that's not freaky at all" Violet said sarcastically. "You must be Elena" Katherine said to Elena before facing Violet.

"And you must be Violet the witch daughter" Katherine said. "And you must be Katherine the vampire doppelgänger my dad was so obsessed with" Violet said.

"How is this possible" Elena asked. "Right, you don't even need a mirror to see what clothes you wanna wear" Violet said.

"How do we look exactly alike" Elena asked and Katherine got closer. "You're asking the wrong questions" Katherine said. 

"Elena, Violet" Stefan said coming over making Elena and Violet look at him.  Elena and Violet went to face Katherine only to discover she was gone.

"You okay" Stefan asked Elena and she shook her head. "Uh not really" Elena said.

"I'll give you two a moment I'll catch up with you later Lena" Violet said and left.
