"So, Alaric is trying to pull himself together why is that a bad thing" Caroline asked. "I just I wish there was something I could do" Elena said.

"Lena I'm sure if there was, he would tell you" Violet said. "Where do you want me to hang this thing" Elena asked Caroline.

"You know what if Rebekah wanted to hang this monstrosity, she should have shown up to do it herself" Rebekah said taking the chandelier from Elena.

"Just no" Caroline said handing the chandelier to a fellow student and they left with it.

"What are you doing" Caroline asked Matt and Jeremy. "You can't just hang them they're supposed to trickle down" Caroline said. "Trickle down" Matt said to Jeremy.

"Look at them all bromancy" Caroline said. "Yeah, I asked Matt to help Jeremy readjust" Elena said.

"Seems like it's working" Violet said. "He got his old job back at the grill" Elena said. "That was nice of him" Caroline said.

"Mm- hmm Jeremy's got a lot on his mind the whole thing with Alaric has got him really stressed out" Elena said.

"Or could it be witnessing you and Damon making out at the hotel" Violet said and Elena looked at Violet. "Don't give me that look" Violet said.

"I didn't tell you that so you could torture me with it" Elena said. "I know but it is fun to do" Violet said.

"So, who you girls bringing to the dance" Caroline asked. "Wait I actually have to go to this thing" Violet asked and Caroline nodded. "Where's a wooden stake when you need one" Violet said.

"What do you mean I thought you, Bonnie, and I, were going as girl dates" Elena asked. "Bonnie has a date" Caroline said. "What" Elena said.

"Jamie called and wanted to see her so she asked him" Caroline said.

"Well, I know who I'm bringing just myself and some blood to get throw this lame night" Violet said. "Hmm" Elena said. "So here's a thought why don't you ask Stefan" Caroline said to Elena.

"Play favorite much" Violet asked Caroline. "I can't ask him on a date I just made out with his brother" Elena said.

"All the more reason look you're supposed to be figuring out what you want that's what Stefan wanted you to do right" Caroline said.

"Yeah but" Elena said when Caroline interrupted. "But nothing I've watched the bachelor" Caroline said. "And you think because of that you have all the answers news flash you don't" Violet said.

"Okay fair is fair it is Stefan's turn" Caroline said. "Yeah, and you're not biased or anything" Elena asked.

"Of course, she is you can tell just by the way she acts" Violet said.

"I'm sorry but Stefan is her epic love and I'm not going down without a fight" Caroline said. "Says you my dad will surprise you just you wait and see" Violet said.

"I can't believe I'm going to this stupid dance" Violet said. "Okay you are supposed to enjoy these things you're a teenager" Damon said.

"Says who, you" Violet asked. "Just try to have fun" Damon said. "That's so much work" Violet said.

"For me" Damon asked. "For your dad" Damon asked again. "Fine" Violet said sighing. "That's my girl" Damon said.

"You don't look like you're having fun" Jeremy said to Violet going to her. "What in a room full of dancing people I can barely stand no I'm having a blast" Violet said sarcastically.

"Didn't you promise your dad you'd try to have fun" Jeremy asked.

"And I did try I failed" Violet said and Jeremy laughed. "I think I missed you most of all" Jeremy said causing Violet to smile.

Violet looked down and saw Jeremy's ring. "Promise me you won't take that off I know what it did to Alaric, but it doesn't mean it will do it to you too and if it does, I'll find a way to bring you back just promise me you'll never take it off" Violet said.

"I promise" Jeremy said. "Good" Violet said smiling.

"If Alaric's sick then we need to find a cure, something" Elena said. "We tried medicine we tried magic" Damon said.

"Which both failed miserably like really, really, really miserably" Violet said. "Okay Vi we get it" Stefan told Violet. "Why don't we get him off vervain, compel him" Stefan said.

"To do what pretend to be Alaric" Damon asked. "The guy that we know is gone we're talking about someone who not only hates vampires but vampire sympathizers which makes one of his most obvious targets I don't know you" Damon said to Elena.

"What you think he'd go after Elena" Stefan asked. "It's likely" Violet said. "So, wait, what are you suggesting we do" Elena asked.

"I'm suggesting that we put him out of his misery" Damon said. "What" Elena said.

"No dad we can't no" Violet said. "She's right no way" Jeremy said making his appearance known making his way to Violet. "Oh, come on it's what he would want it's a mercy killing" Damon said.

"You are out of your mind" Jeremy said. "Jeremy" Elena said, and Jeremy left.

"That could've gone worse than expected" Violet said and Elena went after Jeremy.

After Jeremy went back to Violet, Stefan, and Damon and told them about Esther taking Elena.

They went to leave only that Violet, Stefan, and Damon couldn't leave. "That's new" Violet said.

Jeremy faced them once he realized they couldn't leave. Violet, Damon, and Stefan looked around and saw salt. "Salt" Stefan said.

"It's the binding agent for a spell I could try siphoning it, but I would get Bonnie just to be safe" Violet said bending down.

"Go" Violet said and Damon and Stefan left while Violet started to try to siphon.

After Stefan, and Damon managed to get out of the school with some help from Bonnie and Violet.

They learned Esther turned Alaric into a vampire and was in transition. Once Violet learned Alaric wasn't going to turn, she vamp sped to Jeremy.

"Jeremy" Violet said, and Jeremy looked at her teary eyed.

Violet wasted no time and made her way to him pulling him in for a hug.

Jeremy slowly wrapped his arms around her letting his tears fall as he mourned Alaric someone he thought of as family.

"I'm so sorry Jer" Violet said, and Jeremy stayed silent.
