Violet woke up that morning and saw Kol asleep. She got up and put her clothes back on.

"You want me to drop you off" Kol asked looking at Violet. "No, it's fine I think I'm getting the hang of this vampire thing I'll just use my speed" Violet said.

"Are you sure" Kol asked. "Positive hey last night was great I'll see you around" Violet said and left.

Violet was reading a book drinking from a blood bag ignoring the way Stefan kept tapping when she noticed Damon walked in.

"What are you doing in Stefan's room" Damon asked Violet and Violet motioned to the state Stefan was in. "Oh" Damon said and noticed Violet drinking a blood bag.

"Please tell me you're not on your uncle Stefan's diet" Damon said to Violet. "It's from your stash" Violet said.

"Good I raised you right" Damon said and looked at Stefan. "Dear diary a chipmunk asked me my name today I told him it was Joe that lie will haunt me forever" Damon said.

"What do you want" Stefan asked. "I was hoping we could hang you, me Violet you know little family bonding I mean we don't actually hang out we team up we join forces activate our wonder twin powers" Damon said.

"Dad what are you doing" Violet asked closing her book.

"Digging up clues most of the originals are gone but now we have a whodunit in town" Damon said.

"Hey, do you remember when we came back for Zachariah's funeral" Damon asked Stefan.

"Vaguely" Stefan told him. "Why" Stefan asked. "Cause if memory serves, he wasn't the first founder's council member killed that year or even that month" Damon said.

"Your point being" Stefan asked. "I'm trying to remember what year it was" Damon said. "1912" Stefan said.

"Well, that doesn't sound vaguely" Violet said and Damon tossed Stefan a journal.

"1912 or as I like to call it last time Mystic Falls had a serial killer on its hands" Damon said and Stefan opened the journal.

"What do you say brother you wanna go get drunk" Damon asked.

"And Violet since you're a vampire witch thing whatever we'll figure that out eventually I will allow you to have a drink since it helps with the cravings" Damon said and Violet stood up and went to Damon smiling.

"Ah I get it; I get it your bored your best friends in jail you only have your daughter to hang out with and you don't have anything better to do with yourself" Stefan said.

"Well, there's that and" Damon said and took the journal. "I was hoping you could help me solve a murder" Damon said and left.

"Are you coming, or do you want to continue that annoying tapping that makes me want to break your neck" Violet asked and followed Stefan.

Damon, Stefan, and walked into the grill and sat at the bar.

"So, what does the medical examiner, Bill Forbes, and Alaric Saltzman have in common" Damon asked and Stefan started tapping.

"Okay I'm serious about the breaking your neck thing you are really working on my last nerve" Violet told Stefan. "Come on knock it off" Damon said and Stefan did.

"You know quitting blood cold turkey after a ripper binge probably not the best approach every time you play that all or nothing game you eventually leave a trail of bodies so I'm thinking now's a good time to pay our old friend moderation a visit" Demon said.

"They were all on the founder's council Damon that's what they have in common" Stefan said.

"But why them huh" Damon asked as Violet took a drink.

"Brian Walters and Alaric weren't from founding families I mean hey if you gotta slaughter council members go A list at least in 1912 they killed a Salvatore" Damon said.

"Which Salvatore would that be" Rebekah asked making her appearance known. "Rebekah you sure know how to sneak up on people" Violet said.

"Sorry my little favorite Salvatore" Rebekah said smiling at her.

"So, Zachariah Salvatore was your nephew" Rebekah asked Stefan and Damon.

"Well, our father knocked up one of the maids during the civil war she had a son but as far as everyone else knew Stefan and I were dead family name had to go somewhere" Damon said.

"And uh your family owned the logging mills back then" Rebekah asked. "You're full of a lot of questions" Damon said.

"I'm just researching the town history I grew up here after all" Rebekah said. "You know you don't have to disguise your true motives Blondie Bex if you want more sex just ask for it" Damon said.

"Okay I did not need to hear that" Violet said. "Sorry Vi here get you some food" Damon said offering her his card.

Violet smiled and kissed her dad's cheek before leaving. "Not enough liquor in the world" Rebekah said. "Oh, come on it was too good for you to be this hostile" Damon said.

"If we're gonna continue this then I might have to tell you about Violet and Kol or even her and Niklaus" Rebekah said and Stefan moved to where Violet was previously sitting.

"You'll have to excuse my little brother he's jonesing for some o positive" Damon said. "I'm not jonesing" Stefan said.

"So, they ever catch the killer" Rebekah asked. "Nope wrote it all off on vampires" Damon said.

"Maybe it was a vampire" Rebekah said. "Yeah, yeah maybe it was a vampire Damon" Stefan said.

"Don't think for a second you didn't cross my mind too brother, but these murders weren't your style were they, plus there were no other vampires circulating then" Damon said.

"Well, there was one other vampire" Stefan said. "Remember Sage" Stefan asked Damon.

"Oh, right Sage speaking of great sex" Damon said, and Violet came back and sat next to Rebekah.

"There better not be any talk of my dad's sex life" Violet said. "You came back just in time don't worry" Rebekah told her.

"I knew a Sage once trashy little thing" Rebekah said going back to subject. "You really think it was Sage who was killing all those founders back then" Damon asked.

"Town questioned every grown man in Mystic Falls probably never occurred to them that a woman could have done it" Stefan said.

"Never underestimate a woman that was their first mistake" Violet said. "So, uh tell me more about your old relatives I heard they tore down half the woods to build this town" Rebekah said.

"Easy there, lushy pants it's been a hoot and a half but it's family night and you weren't invited" Damon said to Rebekah.

"Come on Vi let's go" Damon said and Violet left with Damon and Stefan.

Damon and Violet were playing darts together when Damon threw a bullseye. "So, let's just say Sage was killing everyone in 1912 who is doing it now" Damon asked and Violet threw a bullseye.

"It's not that psycho Dr Fell she's a woman there's no way she could stab three grown men" Damon said throwing a dart and Rebekah caught it.

"Thats a bit sexist a woman could easily kill a man with the right motivation" Rebekah said and went to Damon and Violet.

"You just uh don't give up do you" Stefan asked. "Why are you so grumpy" Rebekah asked Stefan.

"It's part of his process" Violet said. "He's on a master cleanse trying to be a better man and all" Damon said. "You know you were a lot more fun in the 20s" Rebekah said.

"You'll rile him up" Damon said. "He's testy when he's being self-righteous" Damon said. "Yeah, that's it" Violet said not believing that was it.

"I'm not being self-righteous Damon I'm just not interested in slaughtering innocent human beings anymore" Stefan said.

"Oh, okay fair enough my mistake you used to be self-righteous dear diary Damon has lost his way though I have pulled my own life together he continues to waste his" Damon said.

"Ouch" Rebekah said and took the journal. "His bitterness consumes him he is nothing but blackness and bile oof judgy" Rebekah said.

"Okay now I'm going to go get a drink" Violet said and left.

"You know if I'm being honest you don't seem like much fun either honestly out of you Stefan and Violet I like Violet the best" Rebekah said.

"I wasn't woman I was in love with was stuck in a tomb she was t getting out of for 100 years I wasn't having any fun at all" Damon said and told how Sage helped him.

"That sounds Sage alright" Rebekah said and Violet came back with a drink. "How did you know her" Violet asked making her appearance known.

"She was obsessed with my brother Finn over 900 years ago" Rebekah said.

"Ew really does she not, have any taste" Violet asked. "What creepy suicidal guy" Damon said.

"Uncle Stef you're doing it again" Violet said hearing him tapping.

"Alright ahem you know what I need to uh I got to get out of here" Stefan said. "Sure, first admit you're jonesing" Damon said.

"Just let him go he's not going to" Violet said. "Damon I'm not gonna" Stefan said when Damon went in front of him. "Admit it" Damon said.

"Okay fine I'm freaking out I'm ready to eat the entire wait staff" Stefan said. "Why do you need to hear me say it" Stefan asked. "Because I'm feeling a little self-righteous too" Damon said.

"So, he doesn't want to drink human blood" Rebekah said.

"Ah he has an eternally guilty conscience he even once almost killed Violet if I didn't save her in time he would have" Damon said.

"I'll forever be haunted by that memory" Violet said.

"Funny when I knew him in the 20s, he didn't have any conscience at all it's one of the things I liked most about him he can't possibly think he can survive without feeding" Rebekah said.

"Oh, on the contrary he's determined to live his life pursuing one extreme or the other he's a stubborn one my brother" Damon said.

"That must be where I get my stubbornness from" Violet said. "Think I'm gonna need some help with this one" Damon said.

"What can I do" Rebekah asked and Damon and Violet saw a woman walking out of the car. "Dad you two have fun in actually quite famished myself so I'll be back" Violet said and sped away.

"Dad I'm back" Violet said walking inside and saw Damon. "Hey sweetie" Damon said. "How did it go" Violet asked.

"Well, he may not believe it, but I think he did well" Damon said. "Good" Violet said smiling. "Vi are you adjusting okay with your vampire side" Damon asked.

"Yeah, I am actually I don't really have to worry about living without you so that's a plus" Violet said and Damon smiled.

"I'm also grateful I don't have the ripper gene guess that's one good thing about being adopted" Violet said.

"I'm glad you don't have it either but if you are struggling tell me okay, I'm your dad and I want to be here for you as long as you let me" Damon said. "I will I'm going to get some sleep" Violet said and left.
