"You're gonna put a hole in that thing" Alaric said walking in with Violet who was drinking from a blood bag seeing Elena punching a punching bag.

"Wanna talk about it" Alaric asked. "Nothing to talk about" Elena said. "Yeah clearly" Violet said not believing her. "So, what's got you all worked up" Alaric asked.

"I didn't really sleep last night" Elena said. "Yeah, me neither probably something to do with dying" Alaric said.

"Well with a psychotic hybrid who apparently has a thing for me on the loose I don't think anyone can sleep if only I could kill him little by little after having my fun with torturing him of course most likely with wolfsbane" Violet said.

"Okay how can you be a mini-Damon and Stefan all at once like you can be mean and then you can be the sweetest person I know" Elena said to Violet.

"It's in my genes" Violet said shrugging. "Are you okay" Elena asked Alaric.

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm fine I think the ring however is running low on batteries" Alaric said.

"Yeah, it's another reason why Jeremy has to get out of town if those rings have a shelf life, he's not protected neither are you" Elena said and kicked the punching bag.

"Nice, nice you're getting stronger" Alaric said. "Just channeling frustration, I need coffee" Elena said going to the coffee.

"I guess Damon's compulsion worked Jeremy was packing when I left the house" Alaric said.

"Wait you had my dad compel Jeremy are you kidding me" Violet said. "Do you remember what happened the last time you did that" Violet asked. "It's what's best for him Vi" Elena said.

"Best for him or you" Violet asked. "Lena, I love you okay I do but honestly when it comes to people making their own choices you take it away without thinking how they would feel so instead you force them into doing it your way by having someone like my dad compel them for you if I find out Jeremy gets hurt because of you friend or not I'll be your worst nightmare" Violet said and left.

"Hey sorry I'm late I got held up" Bonnie said to Elena. "It's okay I just got here too" Elena said.

"Will you pass me the balloons" Elena asked and Bonnie gave her the balloons. "Thanks" Elena said. "What got you running late" Elena asked and hung the balloons on Caroline's locker.

"I uh was working on some new spells" Bonnie said. "You" Bonnie asked Elena.

"Working out with Alaric" Elena said and Bonnie held up the sign she made for Caroline. "Hey where's Violet" Bonnie asked.

"Yeah, that she's kind of upset with me" Elena said. "Why is she upset with you" Elena asked.

"Jeremy's gonna be leaving town for a while he'll be staying with some old family friends in Denver until this whole Klaus thing blows over" Elena said.

"Jeremy wouldn't just leave you to deal with Klaus on your own and he wouldn't leave Violet broken up or not he still cares about her" Bonnie said.

"I know I asked Damon to compel him" Elena said. "You what" Bonnie said.

"I know Bonnie but it's not safe for him here anymore leaving will give him a better life" Elena said.

"No wonder Violet is upset with you I'm on her side you had no right to do that" Bonnie said.

"Bonnie" Elena said and Bonnie left looking for Violet.

Bonnie found Violet at her locker and walked up to her. "Hey Elena just told me what happened and for the record I'm on your side she had no right to do that" Bonnie said.

"Thanks Bonnie" Violet said, and Bonnie gave her a quick hug. "Are you going to be okay" Bonnie asked. "It's not like I have a choice" Violet said.

"Do you know where he's going" Violet asked. "I left before she could tell me" Violet said.

"Denver" Bonnie said. "Thanks" Violet said and saw Jeremy. "Go talk to him say goodbye who knows when you'll see him again" Bonnie said and Violet nodded.

Violet walked up to Jeremy and Jeremy looked at her once she walked up to him. "So, Denver" Violet said.

"You were going to say goodbye right or was I gonna have to chase you down and beat you senseless" Violet asked.

"I wasn't sure you cared" Jeremy said. "What Jeremy of course I care I may be a vampire witch person, but I still have these things called feelings I was hurt by what happened between you and your ghost ex or girlfriend or whatever Jeremy, but it doesn't mean I want you to leave town" Violet said.

"I think this could be a good thing well at least until all this Klaus stuff blows over, I think I can have a better life there" Jeremy said.

"Yeah, because you were compelled to think so" Violet mumbled. "What" Jeremy said.

"Nothing I'm just really going to miss seeing you that's all stay safe Jer" Violet said and left.

"Surprise" Bonnie, Violet, Elena, and Matt said to Caroline surprising her at her house after she didn't show up at school.

"Happy birthday" Matt said. "What are you guys doing here" Caroline asked.

"Well, you blew off school and missed our work of birthday art so uh" Elena said and took off the crown putting it on Caroline's head.

"Change into warmer clothes we're going to the falls snores, campfire" Bonnie said. "Cake like when we were little" Elena said. "Except with tequila" Matt said.

"Thanks guys really um I'm just not really feeling my birthday this year" Caroline said.

"Wow is something wrong I know I don't know you that well, but I've heard stories and I know you love your birthday" Violet said.

"I'm sorry what you've already claimed your birthday as everyone's favorite day of the year" Bonnie said.

"Yeah, and now it's just a reminder that technically I'm dead look I didn't even like 17 and the only point to 17 was to get to 18 it's a filler year I am stuck in a filler year" Caroline said.

"You're not stuck Caroline" Elena said. "Yeah, I am but it's okay you know it's all good I will be fine, but I just need some time to wallow in it" Caroline said.

"Okay well I think I have another idea" Elena said.

"Oh, there it is" Elena said. "This is your big idea well you're not very smart are you" Violet said.

"This is creepy even for us" Bonnie said. "No Caroline was right technically she's dead sorry but you don't need a birthday you need a funeral you need to say goodbye to your old life so that you can move on with your new one" Elena said.

"Well, this is lame" Violet said. "Okay" Caroline said taking off her crown. "Here lies Caroline Forbes" Caroline said.

"Cheerleader, Miss Mystic falls, third grade hopscotch champion" Elena said. "Friend, daughter, overachiever" Bonnie said. "Mean girl sometimes no offense" Matt said.

"Ah none taken" Caroline said. "She was 17 and she had a really good life so rest in peace so that you can move forward that's what you really need" Elena said taking the cake to Caroline.

"It's what we all really need amen or cheers or whatever" Elena said.

"Bonnie, Violet one of you" Elena said. "Oh right" Bonnie said. "I got it" Violet said and lit up the candles with her magic. "Nice, okay make a wish" Elena said.

"I need it more than you do trust me" Elena said taking the bottle. "Oh, really wanna bet" Violet asked.

"Caroline what are you doing" Elena asked seeing her on the phone. "Huh, hmm, nothing" Caroline said. "Doesn't look like nothing" Violet said.

"Okay you're a bad sober liar you're an even worse drunk liar" Elena said.

"I might have texted Tyler" Caroline said. "Caroline" Elena said.

"What I'm delicate" Caroline said. "Oh, give her a break you can't control what everyone does all the time" Bonnie said. "I'm sure she would try if she could" Violet said.

"Wow" Elena said. "Ouch Bon, Violet" Matt said. "Oh, please I could say worse" Violet said.

"I'm sorry I know it's Caroline's birthday, funeral, or whatever but I just feel it's really wrong that you compelled Jeremy to leave town" Bonnie said.

"I'm doing it to protect him Bonnie" Elena said. "Are you or are you doing it because you know you can get away with it, I mean he'll get mad but be over it within a second I mean who will stop you from doing it again right" Violet said.

"I wanna give him a chance at a halfway normal life" Elena said. "Well, that should be his call to make you're taking his choices away" Violet said.

"Violet, Bonnie, you can't tell him" Elena said. "Why are you gonna compel us not to" Bonnie asked.

"Even if you could compel me, I'd snap that pretty little neck before you had a chance, I will not let you take my choices away like you did with Jeremy" Violet said.

"You know you guys are ruining a perfectly good funeral" Matt said.

"Does it look like I care the only reason why I'm here is, cause Bonnie asked me to be here I barely know blondie over there" Violet said.

"I'm sorry I'm just gonna go sleep it off or something" Bonnie said. "I think I'll go home too" Violet said. "Happy birthday" Bonnie told Caroline and left with Violet.

Violet was heading home after saying goodbye to Bonnie when she bumped into Stefan. "Uncle Stefan what are you doing here" Violet asked.

"No reason" Stefan said. "Well, you see I would believe that if it wasn't for your humanity being off so if you don't mind" Violet said.

"Actually, I do forgive me my dear niece" Stefan said and snapped her neck. Stefan grabbed her and sped off.

Elena had woken up in Stefan's car and looked behind her seeing Violet unconscious. "Vi" Elena said and looked to the driver's side seeing Stefan driving.

"What are you doing Stefan" Elena asked. Elena's phone had started to ring, and Stefan grabbed it answering it.

"Hello Damon, she's a little busy right now" Stefan said. "Why do you have Elena's phone" Damon asked.

"I'm making my next move let me ask you something" Stefan said.

"What's Klaus gonna do if he can't make any more hybrids oh and what happens if Violet the one person, he cares about also known as your daughter dies" Stefan asked.

"What" Elena said. Elena had looked behind her seeing Violet was starting to wake up.

"Stefan leave them out of this" Damon said. "Stefan, I mean it if you kill Violet I will never forgive you" Damon said.

Stefan had thrown the phone out the window. "What are you doing" Elena asked. "Stefan let us out of this car" Elena said. "Do you hear me" Elena asked. "Let us out of the car" Elena said.

"So, what's the plan Stefan what's the big move you're making" Elena asked. "I took Klaus's family to make him suffer I'm gonna make him suffer a new one" Stefan said.

"So, what are you gonna do are you gonna lock me in some cave and keep me hostage with Violet your niece who you leave Stefan, I know you, you don't want to kill her it will destroy you" Elena asked.

"Maybe I'll just turn you into a vampire and as for Violet, I might just kill her" Stefan said. "Stop the car Stefan, stop the car Stefan" Elena said.

Stefan grabbed his phone and called Klaus. "Stefan how nice to hear your voice" Klaus said.

"Tell your hybrids to get out of town Klaus" Stefan said. "Well, that's not gonna happen till I get my coffins back" Klaus said.

"Okay well I'm gonna drive your blood source off Wickery bridge and then when I'm done, I'm gonna rip out Violet's heart" Stefan said.

"I don't believe you Stefan, you won't kill them especially Violet I know you adore your niece" Klaus said.

Stefan forced Elena to drink his blood and then snapped Violet's neck knowing if he didn't, she would use her magic and he put his hand on her heart.

"No Stefan let her go, Stefan let her go" Elena said trying to get Stefan let go of Violet. "What's going on" Klaus asked.

"I just fed Elena my blood no more hybrids if she's a vampire and now I have my hand on Violet's heart ready to rip out any second" Stefan said. "You won't do it" Klaus said.

"Really try me because your coffins are next to go say goodbye to your family Klaus" Stefan said going faster.

"Stefan slow down Stefan, Stefan, stop it" Elena said and Elena saw he was about to kill Violet.

"Stefan don't" Elena said. "Fine I'll send them away you win" Klaus said. "Stefan, Stefan, stop" Elena said. "Stop the car Stefan" Klaus said worried about Violet.

Stefan stopped the car and let go of Violet's heart. Elena looked at Stefan shook her head and got out the car with Stefan getting out following her.

"Get back in the car" Stefan said. "Stay away from me" Elena said. "Elena get in the car" Stefan said.

"How could you" Elena asked turning around to face him.

"My parents died going over this bridge I almost died you knew that you're the one who saved me and let's not forget that you nearly killed Violet" Elena said.

"Look he had to believe that I would do it alright your fear sold it" Stefan said not realizing Violet woke up and made her way out of the car staying silent as she watched them.

"Well, what if he hadn't" Elena asked. "He did" Stefan said. "Well, what if he hadn't" Elena asked.

"He did Elena he backed down he has a weakness if I know his weakness I can destroy him" Stefan said.

"And after everything that's what mattered destroying Klaus" Elena asked and turned around. "Destroying Klaus is all I have left" Stefan said and Elena faced him.

"You had me, and you had Violet" Elena said. "I lost Violet the second I tried to drain her of her blood, and I lost you the minute I left town with him you just haven't let yourself admit that yet" Stefan said.

"Is that what you're doing trying to make me hate you" Elena asked. "I don't really care what you think about me anymore Elena" Stefan said.

"Come on" Stefan told Violet. "No thanks I'll call my dad" Violet said glaring at him.

Stefan got in the car and drove off. "Violet" Elena said. "Don't start Elena" Violet said. "Violet if I, known he would've" Elena said.

"Elena it's fine it's not the first time he tried to kill me okay I realize that you're having a hard time right now because he nearly killed you or whatever which honestly surprises me that even with his humanity off, he would do that" Violet said.

Violet looked at Elena and sighed. "Look he's an idiot okay I love my uncle but sometimes he can take things too far, but he does love you okay humanity or not" Violet said.

"Can I ask you something" Elena asked. "What" Violet said. "Do you think you'll ever get your bond back with Stefan" Elena asked.

"I'm not sure I guess we'll see" Violet said. "It's just all this talk about you barely being around him ever since that night he tried to kill you and I rarely hear you say you love him" Elena said.

"I'll tell you one thing Stefan has his moments okay he's a vampire so it's expected but he will always do his very best to make up for what he did no matter how long it takes" Violet said and Elena nodded.

Violet went to her room that night and shut the door behind her. Violet sat up on her bed before reaching over to her drawer on her nightstand.

She took out a necklace that she hasn't wore in years.

Violet opened up the necklace and saw a picture of her, Damon, and Stefan in it from when she was still a baby.

Stefan was holding her smiling while Damon was beside him smiling even bigger.

Violet looked at the picture in the locket before closing it and put it back in her drawer before going to bed for the night.

"Good you haven't left yet" Violet said walking up the steps of the Gilbert residence.

"Hey what are you doing here" Jeremy asked her smiling. "You didn't think you'd leave without saying goodbye did you" Violet asked and Violet hugged Jeremy.

Violet pulled away and smiled at Jeremy. Jeremy went to leave but not before looking at Violet and Elena one last time.

Jeremy eventually left and Violet left a few moments after him causing Elena to sigh.
