Bellamy's Pov

From the rubble of a base that seized to exist, I found myself dangling over death.

My mother gripped on so tightly despite the fact that her palms burned. Her nails dug deep into my father's hand to give herself a better grasp, to give herself one more hope that she would succeed. A tear rolled onto her cheek, but she didn't care, she had to save me.

"I can't hold on much longer." My father strained, pulling with all his might.

Crucially terrified and crying uncontrollably, I sobbed. "I'm scared!"

"No, no baby girl." My mother shook her head. "Don't look down. Look up, at momma and daddy."

My tear stained cheeks looked back down at the never ending sinkhole. I cried out once more, kicking my legs in an attempt to reach safety.

"Bellamy," My father croaked out, his face pale and swelling. "Bellamy look at me!"

My dark eyes dragged to my father's.

He faltered but he still held onto me. "Just keep looking at me, I won't let go."

And I believed him, because he was my father and I loved him. He showed me the Force when my mother hid it from me, he didn't keep me in a prison cell when I was being held hostage on the Finalizer all those years ago and he loved me, but why am I just remembering now?

"Hey kid?" Kalila brings me out of my train of thought. "How are you feeling now?"

From afar, Sebastian sits up from his spot and joins Kalila and I around the table. "I'm fine, really."

She reaches out to press her hand against my forehead. "Your temperature has dropped a couple of degrees so that's a good sign."

"See?" I try. "All good."

"Alright, alright," She puts up her hands in defends. "Just making sure."

My father tries to swindle us, scare us even as he practices his lightsaber skills on some poor plush dummy he found. After all these years, he got nothing but better. I watch, entertained that he may be the only person better than me. He maneuvers his body and slices the head off, glaring back at Kalila who was absentmindedly cleaning her blaster.

"You both look rather peachy," Sebastian comments, looking between Kalila and I. "Somebody get up on the wrong side of the bed?"

I send him a look, but he's smiling innocently at me so I refrain from it. "I actually slept rather well."

"Lovely sweetheart," He thinks for a second. "Want to hear a joke?"

I make a weird face, surprised that he would even think of that. Kalila sits up from her spot at the table and rests her head on her hands. "I do."

"At least some people appreciate good humour," Sebastian winks at me and I feel my cheeks heat up. "How fat is Jabba the Hutt?"

"I don't know," Kalila plays along. "How fat?"

Sebastian can barely contain his laugh as he nears the end of the joke. "So fat that when Obi-Wan took a closer look, he said 'that's no moon'."

"Was that-" My father looks up from his training, completely mortified. "Originally a Death Star joke?"

"Maybe," Sebastian shrugs. "I wasn't around when the Death Star blew up, maybe it was a Starkiller Base joke."

My father sends daggers in his direction. Even mentioning Starkiller Base was a touchy subject for him but he'd never show it.

Kalila is still laughing at Sebastian's joke by the time Elwood comes out from the cockpit, followed by Captain Onyx. He meets my eye and sends me lazy grin before turning his attention to my father. "I think we have a lead."

"Finally!" Sebastian praises. "I want to get this job done!"

"Would you stop talking for just a second Mr. Paladin?" Elwood snaps at him, causing Sebastian to smirk slightly. "As I was saying-"

I shuffle uncomfortably, gazing at Sebastian's chiselled jaw and boyish smirk.

"-we know that the Jedi have landed on Chandrila and the Republic have just declared war with is. Some planets are First Order sympathizers and are willing to send a few extra troops. Snoke is preparing his clone-army and Hux is readying his men. It's almost an equal fight, almost. Though recently, a cargo ship left Chandrila's system and it is believed that it is going to D'Qar, filled with supplies."

"Your point?"

"The ship is set for D'Qar, then Naboo."

"Some of us aren't geniuses like yourself Lieutenant Elwood," Kalila interrupts him. "What does it mean?"

"I think one of our Jedi friends are escorting either Queen Trelawney or a senator from Naboo back home," He explains, pound of his discovery. "They aren't under the protection of Chandrila's army."

The nausea swirled in my empty stomach. My head swam with half-formed regrets. My heart felt as if my blood had become tar as it struggled to keep a steady beat. A rush of emotion hit me and I turn to my father. "It's Jude Solo."

"Wait a second," Kalila's eyes widen. "Solo as in Han Solo, as in Ben Solo? As in Elara Jane's son Solo?"

My father nods his head, his face grim and not bothered.

"You never told me I was hunting down my dead sister's son!" Kalila turns to my father, looking as if she was ready to slap him. "Let alone, I didn't even know she had a son!"

He remained unfazed, not looking anywhere to escape Kalila's sudden rage. "Things happen."

"He's your son, he's my nephew!" Kalila almost yelled, shoving my father slightly. He didn't fight her back though, which surprised me. "Are you insane?"

My mood hung over me like a black cloud, raining my personal sorrow down on me wherever I went. I stood up from my posistion at the table, forcing my feet to move with me. "Elwood and Sebastian, you're with me."

Something flashed across my father's face that I could barely see. It was a mixture of hurt and regret, but he didn't act on it.

"This war is brewing," I announce. "Father, you'll be needed alongside Snoke. Kalila, you clearly have forgotten that you are a bounty hunter, despite any connection you may have to your target. Captain Onyx will fly us to Naboo and we will get the job done."

Every one of those words felt like acid on my tongue. Four months ago, I would of been able to do this no problem. Something was different, something was happening to me. I was receiving memories that I had long forgotten about or only remembered them like a hazy dream.

"Is that clear?"

Kalila at me, completely bewildered. "It's one thing to hunt down Jedi but it's another to hunt down your own brother."

"Really?" I raise my brow. "Because it seems as if you hate my mother, who may I point out is dead and you only now just make an appearance."

"I don't hate your mother."

"Is that so?" I lace my black boots together. "Because last time I checked, you only speak ill of her."

"Your mother was a Jedi, saved by Luke Skywalker. I was a bounty hunter by luck, I only just escaped from the slavery of Geil the Hutt. Which daughter do you think made your grandparents' proud? I left so Elara could have it all."

I'm silent for a second but I play my part. I look at Elwood and Sebastian. "I'm in charge, don't question anything I do."

"Yes ma'am." I notice Sebastian's eyes trail me up and down.

Elwood also notices and he turns around, muttering something that I can't here.

"Good," I turn around to go back to my headquarters. "I don't want to hear from anyone until we land on Naboo."

Before I turn the corner, I hear Kalila sigh. "She's just like Elara sometimes, stubborn and insubordinate."
