Bellamy's Pov
∽
"What do you want Bellamy?" Jude barked, scrambling to his feet with Nalani by his side. His face was painted with confusion and surprise, something I didn't think would have much of an affect on me.
"News flash kiddo, we are here to kill you," Sebastian turned to the queen. "Both of you."
From behind me, I felt Elwood approach us. Fear flashed across Nalani's face as she realized why he was late. "You killed all the guards, didn't you?"
"You're cornered," Elwood muttered out, his voice shaky. "Don't try and fight your way through this."
Jude reached for his lightsaber, igniting it within seconds. "You don't have to do this."
"Enough with the theatrics," Sebastian raised his blaster and took a shot at Nalani, which was immediately reflected by the saber. "Blast it! Don't just stand there Isidore, do something!"
"Stop this Bellamy," Jude yells at me. "I know that you've been receiving old memories you didn't think happened. Kylo Ren muted your memories to make you a wired killing machine! On the other side, the fallen Jedi, great grandfather, Obi-Wan Kenobi, mother? They are trying to get you to see the Light you are pretending to not feel."
The sudden nausea swirled in my empty stomach. My head swam with half-formed regrets and painful confusion. The heartache was like a red hot coal placed on my chest, it glowed and burnt me at the same time, but it did not cool quickly like a coal in water, it throbbed and tortured me as my fingers trembled to ignite my purple lightsaber.
Frantically, Jude looked around for something he could give to Nalani. Suddenly, the blaster rifle in Elwood's grasp was flung across the meadow and into Jude's hand. He pushed it into Nalani's arms and yelled. "Run!"
They took off in a sprint, into the darkening forest of Gungan territory. Sebastian shoved past me, running after them like a mad man. I felt Elwood touch my shoulder and I turned around. His face was soft and kind, even after he killed innocent people. "I'm with you, no matter what."
I shut my eyes for a second. Thinking, pleading and reaching out to Snoke. Desperately trying to latch onto some kind of darkness that I could find but he did not respond. I even try to call out to my father but all I am given is the cold silence of nothing.
Let me Isidore Ren one more time please.
"Let's go," I begin to run. "I'm not losing him, not this time."
I get in the zone. My tracking instincts kick in and through the force, I lead myself towards Jude Solo. The chase is only sport for me, but means everything to him. For me, taking his life is just a small part of a wider game. I know he believes that I won't kill him but that is of course, a lie to bring hope where there should be none.
Or will I show him mercy?
I weave dangerously in and out of the trees, half blinded by the glare of the morning sun, the sound of never ending rivers distracting my mind, I hear Sebastian's footsteps.
"We're close."
I turn a sharp corner and hit a dead-end cave. Confused, I turn around to find out that I am alone. Elwood is no longer behind me and I am met by a chilled wind.
"Bellamy."
A shiver went down my back.
Leaves from the trees fell and the wind continued to whisper. "Bellamy..."
I hug my chest and take small steps towards the mouth of the cave. Everything I have longed to feel was soothed and my eyes met hers. "Momma?"
From the cave, my mother emerged. "Hello Bellamy."
Without thinking, I ran at her. My arms wrapped around her torso and I hugged her like my life depended on this one hug. Unable to control myself, a small sob escaped my lips and I looked at her beautiful face. "Momma I missed you so much."
She smiled, stroking my hair like how she used to when I was young. "I've always been here," She taps the part of my chest in which my heart is located. "You just couldn't see me."
"You've been in my dreams," I pause. "Why did you leave me?"
"I had to save you figlia."
I shake my head, my lip trembling. "Look at what I have become."
"I see what you have become," She takes my hand in hers. "I see my baby girl. Stronger than most, smarter than most and braver than most. I've watched every single one of your hardships, your path so far and the robbery of your good memories."
"So it's true?" I rub my eyes. "Father did mute my memories."
"And now they are returning," She assures me. "This is a conversation you'll have to have with him Bellamy."
"It's Isidore momma," I mumble, looking down at the ground. "Isidore Ren, Elara Jane's disappointment of a daughter."
"You haven't disappointed me," She tells me and my heartbeat picks up. "I have watched you pick up the pieces and find yourself."
"I'm hunting down Jude."
"I know, that's why I'm here. This is your final moment Bellamy. If you kill your brother, you will be destined to the Dark Side forever. If you don't, the Light Side is willing to rekindle the flame you once shared. I am not here to tell you which one to pick, I'm here to tell you that after this, you won't be able to go back."
"Jude has never stopped loving me, even after all this time."
"The power of love brings hope, yet at times the steps toward love cause pain and those towards a life of loneliness are comfortable in their familiarity. We are born to love and with all necessary courage to walk the path to it, no matter the roughness, no matter the hardship."
"I don't want you to hate me," I sniffle, my freckled cheeks wet with tears. "I have learnt only small portions of what it is like to love."
"I could never hate you," She promises. "I'll always be a light, guiding you."
"Visit father, please?"
A small smile crept onto her lips and she nodded, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear like a young girl. "I will."
"Then I know what I must do."
She pressed a kiss to my forehead and I shut my eyes. When I opened them once more, she was gone and I had a mission to complete.
I took off running.
Running as fast as I could. Jumping over fallen trees and drenching my boots with puddles from the swamps. I knew what had to be done. My loyalties lay with me, with myself. I run straight into Sebastian and Elwood, tailing Nalani and Jude. I was back in the race.
Sebastian raised his blaster and out came the fiery laser, finding its place right in Nalani's shoulder. She fell to the ground, her dress ripping. Alarmed, Jude fell beside her. He started applying pressure to the wound while the three of us cornered him.
"It's over," Sebastian took a kick at Jude's stomach. "Jedi scum."
Jude was too occupied with Nalani to focus on the pain he must of felt. "She's going to die."
Nalani, bleeding severely, tilted her head to face me. "And even if I am to die, he will never stop loving you. Doesn't that make you feel anything?"
"Of course not sweetheart," Sebastian snorted. "She's a Sith. Now come on dollface, take that laser sword of yours and kill that nasty little Resistance Fighter."
There are two paths. The right and the left. Both look the same but the outcomes are different. Choices cannot be undone. Once chosen, it can never be chosen again. You can pick one, but you cannot pick both. My limbs tingle and my brain races in the most unhelpful way. After all these years of preparation the reality is still alien.
"Kill. Him. Isidore."
I feel my hand slowly move towards the lightsaber on my belt and the purple blade is ignited. I hear Nalani sob from the amount of pain she was in and I could feel Jude's heartbeat quicken. He was preparing himself for death.
He looked at me one last time, nothing but family in his hazel eyes. "I forgive you Bellamy."
"DO IT!"
My hand shakes and I swing my lightsaber with such ferocity, it seems inhuman. I've done it. I've killed a piece of me. Tears fall down my cheeks once more and I drop to my knees. I did it.
Isidore Ren was dead.
"What the hell?" Sebastian aggressively yells. "What the actual hell?"
Numb inside, I clench a fistful of dirt in my fists. "I'll give you five seconds to run," I squeeze my eyes shut as more tears run freely. "Before I have to kill you."
Redemption. Forgiveness. Was there a way I could make up for all of the horrible things I had done? Was there a way I could become someone better? Or would I always be Isidore Ren, the destroyer, the Sith? The scarred girl who's memory was stolen How could I be better? How could I learn to re-love the people I once cared for so dearly?
I hear the sound of feet taking off and I know he was long gone. My guess was that he was probably trying to contact my father and Snoke, letting them know that the great Isidore Ren was killed by Bellamy Solo.
