Jude's Pov
∽
As we stand before them, I glance over at Bellamy, still rigid with fury, her hands against her lightsaber. Snoke just observed us from the balcony, his pale face remaining painfully still.
I clenched my fists, my face going crimson. Snoke was the reason my family was broken, why my father was Kylo Ren, why Bellamy's memory was stripped from her. His bounty hunter killed Corinthia, his revolution gave grandmother a heart attack. If I had to blame anyone, it would be him.
"Your anger fuels you, young Solo," Snoke speaks to me and my eyes snap up at him. "Maybe I was wrong about the girl, maybe it is you who is to be a Sith."
"I'll never join you," He yelled violently. "I'll be the one to destroy you!"
In the most sickening way, Snoke smiled. It was as if all good things had been taken away from me, I suddenly felt cold. As disturbed as I was, his menacing smile would not distract me. Kylo Ren began walking away from the balcony and towards us. Something was going to happen and only one side would walk away.
"A family torn apart by power and grief will soon be reunited upon the rise of the greatest supreme. Born from the ashes, a rising Sith will sit amongst a choice, family or strength. In the coming days of the realization, the wielder of the purple lightsaber will also face a decision, dark or light, demise or everlasting." Snoke explains the prophecy, long forgotten but always there. "A bond will be created between the bravest sibling and a hero related not by blood, but by past and a stray sibling will soon discover the ways of the force and soon, the possibility of the greatest Sith Lord to ever be known will be created in the breaking of the family."
My eyes snap towards Bellamy's. She is also looking at me, I can feel her racing heartbeat. "The prophecy," I mutter. "It wasn't at all what we thought it to be."
Snoke laughed, causing me to cringe. "The wielder of the purple lightsaber is now Isidore, who chose the light over the dark. How disappointing."
"The bond isn't between Rey and I," I look at Luke, completely shocked. "But between Nalani and I, we are connected by the past because great grandmother was once Queen of Naboo. How could I have not seen this?"
"Father," Bellamy's eyes gazed upon the man in the mask. "The rising Sith, the choice between family or strength."
A few feet away, Kylo Ren ignited his lightsaber. "I have chosen strength." He claims, his mask making his voice robotic
I was quick to make my decision. I whipped around to clash my blue blade onto Kylo Ren's red, sparking blade. I held the blade in front of me, ready to strike at any move, just as Luke had taught me. Though I had thrashed my saber into Kylo's, my blade shivered under the brutality of his compelling strength.
"Kill! Snoke!" I shout, shoving him off of me and taking another strike. "Kill! Him!"
As I battle my father, Luke and Bellamy have ignited their lightsabers and took off to duel Snoke. Bellamy thrusts her lightsaber forward, only to be met by Snoke's sudden movements. His blade and handle is much bigger than a normal lightsaber, his was godlike. Both sabers clashed against each other and slowly, I noticed Bellamy was weakening.
With renewed anger, I slashed the my saber into Kylo's shoulder and he hissed out in agony. I had to help Luke and Bellamy, and if it meant killing him, I'd do it.
"Jude," He tries, but I ignore him. "You can't win."
"Watch me!" I snarl, striking him once more.
He suddenly presses his lightsaber closer to my face until I could feel the electric energy threatening to hurt me. With one single thought, I kicked him off of me and raised my hand to throw him against a wall. His lightsaber tumbled out of his hand and I kicked it away from his reach. I take off running, looking back to make sure I had knocked him out.
Despite my fear, I ran towards Bellamy, Snoke and Luke. I lunged into the battle, but Snoke deflected my saber. It was Bellamy's who used more of a savage style, surprising Snoke with her skill. I jumped into the battle behind her and intended to end it. I swung my lightsaber to stop the incoming blow of Snoke's force. Within a single strike, Snoke's saber came into contact with my wrist.
I'm taken aback, the sudden pain leaving me speechless. I look down and see nothing but a surged numb. I don't hear anything, it seems that I have gone deaf. I tumble backwards and fall, I've been defeated.
I hear Bellamy scream out in pain, but my vision is blurred. Luke is thrown against a wall and he falls beside me. I use my remaining hand to push myself up and check for Luke's heartbeat.
I find one. It's slow, but steady.
Bellamy falls against Snoke's power and she is flung across the room, her head coming into contact with a rock. Snoke looks up from his position, making eye contact with me. If we weren't dead, he wouldn't stop. I scramble to my feet, hiding my arm underneath my armpit to stop the bleeding. Flushed, I ignite my lightsaber and prepare myself for another duel.
Suddenly, Kylo Ren appears before us. Limping towards Snoke and I.
"Good, my Knight of Ren," Snoke praised. "Finish him."
My eyes widen and I hold my breath. This was my end, I was going to die. I shouldn't fear death, but I was terrified.
Kylo swung his lightsaber, but not in my direction. He cut open Snoke's arm and continued to thrash his saber into Snoke's arm. Snoke cried out, igniting his lightsaber and ramming it into Kylo's. They fought, back and forth, swinging and yelling out in agony. I pull myself together and take my lightsaber off my belt.
"Ben!" I find myself yelling, and my father turns around. I throw him my blue lightsaber and he catches it, using both of them to fight Snoke.
"Traitor!" Snoke hissed, blocking Kylo's strike "You have nothing if you kill me! Nothing!"
Kylo swung his lightsaber into Snoke's abdomen. "Actually," He swung it again. "I have everything knowing my children are together at last." With one final strike, Snoke fell to the ground.
Kylo watched as he fell, ripping his mask off his face. He let it drop, allowing it to roll off the balcony. His shoulders hunched and he fell to his knees. "I am free."
Starstruck, I take a shuffled step to him, my mouth wide open. "You saved me."
"I wasn't going to let him kill you," Kylo's eyes meet mine. "You're my son."
"You muted her memories." I mutter. "You hurt so many people."
Breathing heavily, he put a hand through his dark hair. "Snoke threatened to kill Bellamy if I did turn her into Isidore Ren," He leans over to cough, clenching his side. "He said he'd use everything in his power to destroy Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker, you and Bellamy, if I did not do what he asked. I was beaten, abused, struck down if I stepped out of line. I'd do it all again, if it meant you two were safe."
My throat tightens and I collapse beside him. "We can get you out of here. Take you to a planet so far that nobody would know who you are."
"There's no need for that," He removes his hand from his side and reveals a huge gash, bleeding heavily. "My job here is done."
My eyes widen and I immediately move my hands to the cut, applying pressure. "You can't die, not now! You just redeemed yourself, you just gave me hope that we could finally be a family!"
"You already have a family," He choked, his eyes fluttering shut. "And for that very reason, I am no longer needed."
Snot rolls down my nose as I let a sob escape my lips. "Father-" I cry. "Please."
"I'm sorry I couldn't-" He stops for a moment, his eyes reopening for a split second. "I'm sorry I couldn't be a better father to you."
"No, no," I tell him. "You protected us. You are the bravest man I have ever known. I forgive you father, I forgive you! Please, stay with me!"
"Tell Bellamy that I love her," He rambles. "And tell my mother that I'm sorry for all the pain I have caused her. Tell her, I'm sorry." His lips form a smile. "May the Force be with you." He stops squirming and coughing, his blood running dry.
Kylo Ren was dead.
