Bellamy's Pov
∽
I watched Jude as his head hung low, staring emotionlessly at the stars surrounding us. We had just escaped, the Finalizer ship crashing into a nearby planet. As far as we know, the casualties are average for a war but we have multiple prisoners sent to be questioned on Chandrila. General Hux, Elwood's second uncle, had not been spotted or seen. Ground troops are following escape pods across the galaxy and Resistance sympathizers are delivering as much information as they can.
Either way, our war was not over yet.
In the silence of the cockpit, it's just Jude and I. Kalila, Elwood and Luke were busy charting Snoke and my father's whereabouts.
When Jude looks my way, I can see he's one more blow away from breaking. Something deep within me shatters and I allow myself to focus on my brother. I know where he's heading and no matter how alone he felt, I needed him to know that it was now my turn to be his family. So I have to step up right now or lose him right after I got him back. I need to demonstrate my love with my actions, show that I would die for him, suffer for him, yet ultimately, live for him. I pull back from the controls and flick a switch, allowing R2 to take over.
"Jude," I call his name and he looks up, his hazel eyes glossy. "Your emotional pain seeps out in your words and it hurts to hear them, hurts to read them. I sense what is inside that troubles you, yet also there is so much goodness there too, bravery, tenacity. You hold on like a fighter. All I can offer you is a brighter horizon, a hope that one day you'll be free of all this. One day there will be choice, freedom and no longer a need to fight for those you love."
His lip trembles and I feel the darkness clouding his thoughts.
"Keep hanging on Jude," I carefully touched his shoulder. "Because I'm here now, and I won't leave you."
"She deserved so much better," He grieves. "I have never felt so alone, and this is only the beginning, the beginning of the pain, the suffering and the endless nightmares. Bellamy, she was my weight."
"Don't blame yourself."
"But I do," He shakes his head, infuriated. "I broke her heart, I fell in love with Nalani, I let her go! She died unloved!"
"That's not true," I promised. "You still loved her and so did her family. She died a hero, she died for what she believed in."
"She died for your freedom Bellamy," He wipes the single tear going down his cheek. "She died so you could be my sister again."
"I know," I hesitantly engulf him into a hug. "And I shall be forever grateful for her."
"Ahem," Elwood knocks on the doorframe. "We found them."
"Tell me everything."
"They are on Korriban."
My eyes widen. "The Sith planet? All this time, he was hiding on the sacred Sith planet," I jump out of my seat and punch in the coordinates. "He knows we are coming, undoubtedly. I can't say he knows when, but he knows." I jump to lightspeed, my head snapping back. "How is he?"
"Luke?" Elwood questions and I nod my head. "He's uneasy, he loved Corinthia like a daughter."
Jude hiccuped, burying his face into his hands. "Please Cedar, talk about her somewhere else."
Elwood touches Jude's shoulder. "I'm sorry buddy, take it easy."
"It's going to be dangerous," I explain, tucking my raven hair behind my ear. "Korriban messes with the minds of the weak."
"She's right," Luke interfered, hobbling towards a seat in the cockpit. "The Sith Empire was founded by exiled fallen Jedi fleeing the Battle of Corbos, which concluded the Hundred-Year Darkness. Using their training in the Force, the fallen Jedi amazed the Sith and elevated themselves to god-like status on Korriban, becoming the rulers of the Sith people. Years passed, and interbreeding occurred between the Fallen Jedi and the Sith. Over time, the Sith had destroyed or isolated the Fallen Jedi, hence taking over the planet. In truth though, Bellamy has become both a fallen Jedi and a fallen Sith."
"So we might be haunted by Jedi and Sith ghosts?" Elwood questioned.
"That's it."
"Nice."
We jump out of light speed and my eyes meet the red planet for the first time. A sudden wave of anxiety hits me and I feel a power grow around me, one that I have refrained myself from using.
Jude's body hunches over and I know he feels it to.
The Dark Side.
"How powerful is Snoke?" Kalila pipes in, pushing herself to a spot beside me. "Can three Jedi and two assassins take him?"
"I don't know," I answer honestly. "My father is alongside him. I have trained for many years, knowing both sides of the Force. Jude and I hold special abilities but it may not be enough."
"We can't call for Rey," Jude takes part of the conversation. "She's helping the ground troops."
"I fear for the worst Luke, but I have faith we can overpower them."
Our ship lands and immediately, I feel my father's presence. He's calling for me, but I don't know what he's saying. I know he doesn't want to fight me, I am able to figure out that much. He erased my memories, he turned me into a killing machine, he may not want to fight but I will do what must be done.
The red planet of Korriban is covered in rolling hills. Wind stirs up the wispy red sand and the sun's never ending rays beat down on me mercilessly. Salty sweat rolls off my nose as I make my way to a sheltered temple in the distance. My clothing is overwhelmingly hot and sticky. Jude, Elwood, Luke and Kalila follow behind me, my purple lightsaber ignited.
I jab my foot into the rocky door, the stone crumbling beneath my foot. I stay focused as I enter the sacred temple of the Sith. I have betrayed this past part of me, but I have redeemed a part of me that people thought was worth saying.
"Ah," A voice startles me and I whip my lightsaber around, Luke and Jude doing the same. "I knew you'd be coming Isidore."
Snoke and my father appear before us, towering above from a balcony. Snoke, slightly taller than my father, has his hands folded together but my father's special lightsaber is glowing red. His face is covered, but I know he's hiding too many emotions.
"Stop hiding behind my father Snoke!" I yell. "Fight like a warrior!"
"Dear child, why so venomous?"
"You stole my memories!" I scream, completely infuriated. "You took away pieces of me! I was never supposed to be your puppet!" I turn my gaze to my father. "How could you? You promised to protect me! Mother should hate you!"
He remains tall, his posture straight. I know I hit a soft spot by bringing up my mother, but he deserves to feel my wrath.
"So I did, and I almost had my perfect Sith," He drags each word. "But prophecies are capable of being broken."
