As some of you may know, before The Force Awakens, there was an entirely different story after Return Of The Jedi. This was referred to as the Star Wars Expanded Universe or EU for short. The EU officially become non canon when TFA was announced. In the EU, Leia and Han had three kids, twins - Jaina and Jacen and then Anakin. Jaina wielded a purple lightsaber while both Jacen and Anakin had blue. In the EU, the emperor had an apprentice named Mara Jade and he told her to hunt down and kill Luke. She did hunt him down and instead of killing him, they fell in love. Mara and Luke had a son named Ben.

Much like Kylo Ren (Ben Solo), Jacen Solo was blinded by the dark side and became Darth Caedus. Jacen fell in love with another Jedi named Tenel Ka. Together, Tenel and Jacen had a daughter named Allana. Despite him being apart of the dark side he still loved Tenel and Allana.

Jaina Solo was also seduced by the dark side for a short period but was brought back to the light by her brother, Anakin Solo. Anakin Solo died on a mission and that was a big part on how Jacen was seduced.

Likewise, I used the EU for a bit of inspiration. Since Han and Leia clearly did not have twins, I didn't let the twin gene stop there since Bellamy and Jude are around. Sort of like Tenel and Jacen, Elara and Kylo had Bellamy and Jude while Elara still served for good while Kylo did not. Jude and Corinthia's relationship is strictly made up and I promise you, Jude won't be getting Corinthia pregnant any time soon.

In some ways, Bellamy is more like Jacen while Jude takes on the character of Jaina. Not to say that I will be following the story of Jaina and Jacen word by word but I do use it for inspiration since I'm such a big fan of the EU.

Before I published Salvation To My Stars, I considered having Luke be married to Mara Jade while he was away on his little hermit planet. Therefore, Mara Jade would have some kind of role but it would be too confusing and I already have so many main characters who have more important stories to share.

In more ways than some, Elara Jane looks literally nothing like her children and that is completely normal. Bellamy and Jude both have freckles while neither of their parents have that feature. That will be explained later in the sequel so keep reading. Bellamy does have the feature of dark hair and dark eyes, much like Kylo Ren.

Another thing I have mentioned is that Jude looks like his great grandfather, Anakin Skywalker. The theme for twins was also having the same first letter. Leia and Luke, Jaina and Jacen and in case you forgot, Bellamy and Ben. Jude's full name is Ben Jude Solo Jane but Elara called him by his middle name because she was upset with Ben Solo. But that is how I used the EU in STM and I really wanted to explain it to you guys!
