Prayer requires persistency

Day Eighteen

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to teach them that they should always pray and never become discouraged.
Luke 18:1 GNB

Jesus has shown us on multiple occasions why we need to pray. Jesus always prayed. If He found prayer to be good and beneficial, we have no excuse for not praying.Jesus wants us to always pray. Apostle Paul gives the same instruction.

pray at all times, - 1 Thessalonians 5:17 GNB

Paul's instruction isn't long at all, but it's so important. We must pray at all times. When we are always praying, we give no room for fear to have a stronghold in our lives.Jesus encourages us to pray because, without prayer, we'll easily become discouraged by the circumstances around us.

yet because of all the trouble this widow is giving me, I will see to it that she gets her rights. If I don't, she will keep on coming and finally wear me out!' " - Luke 18:5 GNB

Now when you read the first 8 verses of this chapter in the book of Luke, you'll notice Jesus's talking about a widow that needed to be vindicated by a judge.
The above Scripture says, "If I don't, she will keep on coming and finally wear me out."
Even though the judge wasn't a good person, Jesus likens the story of the window to the prayer life of a believer.
Whether or not God has answered our prayers, we shouldn't give up on prayer. We need to keep asking. To keep knocking. And to keep seeking. Why?

Now, will God not judge in favour of his own people who cry to him day and night for help? Will he be slow to help them? - Luke 18:7 GNB

Don't give up on your prayers just because you haven't received an answer yet. God favors us as we pray. He notices. God answers prayers.

Because Rebecca had no children, Isaac prayed to the LORD for her. The LORD answered his prayer, and Rebecca became pregnant. - Genesis 25:21 GNB

Isaac prayed to the Lord. What could have changed about God since the times of Isaac?

"I am the LORD , and I do not change. And so you, the descendants of Jacob, are not yet completely lost. - Malachi 3:6 GNB

God doesn't change. If God answered the prayers of Isaac, He can answer your prayers. Only believe.

Prayer: In the name of Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father I thank you. I bless your name. You are amazing. You're gracious and merciful. Thank you for encouraging us through your word. We believe in your word. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
