Jesus is for everyone
Day Four
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,"
— Luke 4:18 (KJV)
The Bible says, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me" This Scripture is talking about Jesus. Jesus can to accomplish so many things in our lives. Let's quickly study them.
The first thing that Jesus is anointed to do is: to preach the gospel. The gospel of Christ is important to all of us.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
— Romans 1:16 (KJV
Jesus preached the gospel because, the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. Our salvation is something that is magnificent. It is something that Jesus wants for everyone. He wants everyone to be saved.
The second thing Jesus is anointed to do is to heal the brokenhearted. Jesus can heal and mend our broken hearts.
Healing speaks of wholeness. God wants to make us whole in our bodies. Whole in our soul. Whole in every part of our lives. He comes to heal.
"He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."
— Psalms 107:20 (KJV)
God's word heals. God's word can heal physically and can heal us emotionally.
The third thing Jesus does is to preach deliverance. The word of God frees us from all kinds of bondage. The word of God delivers us from strongholds and evil imaginations.
"(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)"
— 2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV)
God's word breaks us free from strongholds and beliefs that the believer shouldn't have.
The fourth thing Jesus does with our lives is to give us sight. The bible says, "recovering of sight to the blind."
"NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
— Psalms 119:105 (KJV)
The word of God gives us sight. When we have sight, then can we begin to see the path set for us.
The final thing that Jesus does is to set at liberty them that are bruised. The bible says, " to set at liberty them that bruised." The Greek word used for deliverance and liberty is the same word but it has different meanings. One of the meanings is freedom . The other meaning is forgiveness. God's word enables us to learn how to forgive. When someone crushes us, we need to forgive. When someone offends us, we need to learn to forgive. So Jesus sets at liberty them that are bruised. He delivers us and causes us to have power to forgive those who crush us.
Payer: Inthe name of Jesus, Glorious Father we thank you. We bless your name. We magnifyyou. Thank you for allowing us to receive your word today. May you set us freefrom all bondage. Deliver us from all kinds of evil and cause us to see thevalue of you word. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen
