This is a short chapter that contains a sequence of flashbacks to give you more of a perspective on how Palpatine came to learn of your and Anakin's marriage.

A few months ago at start- then I move down. The timeline.

Palpatines POV
"Emperor, you are receiving a call from an unknown individual aboard the Death Star," Mas Amedda placed a hologram in front of me, I eyed the figure with distain, "They claim it's of the upmost importance."

I sighed heavily due to this inconvenience, "Who are you and why do you think you have any right to call upon me?" I raised my hand and began killing the man through the hologram. Someone of his stature has no useful information for me.

"Ple-Please it's about Va-Vader." He choked out a few words; words that peaked my interest.

I let go, "What did you say your name was?" I asked as I dropped my hand to the arm of my throne.

He visibly swallowed nervously, "Adam sir."

"Okay Adam, what information do you possess that you believe to be of any value to me?" I glared into his eyes in a threatening manner, this better be good or I really will kill him for disturbing me. This man must have balls to even place this call.

"I think it is important for you to know that Lord Vader has been spending his nights with a woman who is employed here." He informed me confidently, like the information he has given is even remotely close to being important.

I rolled my eyes with a growl, "How Lord Vader chooses to spend his nights is not something that is of my concern. He is a man and he can have as many playthings as he wants."

The man shook his head, "It's not playthings, it's just one. One woman only, who I believe he has formed a relationship with."

I sat up straight at the 'r' word, "Do you have proof of this?"

"No," I held up my hand to choke him once more and he held up his to stop me as he spoke quickly, "But I can get you proof!"

I sighed as I dropped my hand once more, usually I'd never give a person a chance, but this is something I have to know, "You better bring me proof soon or there will be dire consequences, for you." I pressed the button for the transmission to end, I was already tired of looking at his face.

"I hear a lockdown was in place today," I spoke to Admiral Tarkin through his hologram during our normal daily meetings.

He nodded, "Yes Emperor, there was an incident with our weapons expert Adam." My ears perked at the mention of the name, "He tried killing one of our female mechanics and was on the loose, but Lord Vader took care of him." He shrugged as he began to go on to the next issue, but I held a hand up to stop him; letting him know that I wish to stay on this topic.

"Does Lord Vader happen to know the victim well?" I fished for information, wondering if this mechanic is the same girl that moron Adam was referring to before.

He nodded once more, "Yes, I see them together quite often actually, I was beginning to suspect more was afoot, but he denied my accusations."

I hummed as I thought for a moment, "Tell me more about her."

He eyed me curiously; but obliged to my request, "I don't know too much she's only been here a few months; but her name is (y/n) (y/l/n), she's a highly skilled mechanic, she's an orphan, she's from Naboo-"

"Stop," I interrupted him, "Did you say she's from Naboo?"

"Yes sir."

Interesting.. Vader seemed rather eager in that call to me not too long ago about not wanting to destroy Naboo, but Tatooine instead. I was under the impression he wanted to do it as a form of revenge for his past. But now I'm beginning to suspect that that wasn't the reason at all, "Admiral, keep an eye on them for me will you? I'm beginning to believe that Lord Vader is hiding something from me."

The Death Star was attacked by rebels and Lord Vader was placed in a bacta tank from being impaled in the abdomen by Obi-Wan Kenobi, according to Tarkin.

It's been some time since I had any news about Vader and the girl, I still have no proof and I was starting to believe that it may be. But I couldn't deny the change I've been feeling from him. So I've given him a task that is linked to his old life, something to remind him of who he is and why he's here, "Miss Padme Amidala." I smiled when I saw his face drop slightly.

But then he nodded, "I'll take care of her." He better, or I'll take care of him. He should consider this another one of my tests, just to see how much he is swaying from me.

I eyed his bloody figure with satisfaction, it seems I don't have too much to worry about. Only a true monster could instill such violence. I may not have the information I require, but the murder of the Senator was enough to lift my mood. I expected a stab in the heart or a simple decapitation, but the horrific image I'm seeing now is so much better than I anticipated.

Girl or not, he's still under my control. Doing my bidding without question, that's enough for me to lay off of him, for now.

"I need you to do something for me." I instructed Admiral Tarkin through our hologram.

"Of course sir, what is it?" He asked eagerly.

"I'll be calling upon Lord Vader soon, I have something here for him. While he's gone, place a security camera in his office, have it set to be sent directly to me and I'll make sure to look it over myself, it's time we see what he's been hiding."

Tarkin nodded obediently, but I could see something was bothering him, "I have to ask sir, what do you plan to do if our hunch is correct? I hope I don't speak out of turn but, I don't think this war can be won without him."

I nodded once more in agreement, "It can't be and I'll figure it out if it comes down to it."

I growled in annoyance as I shut the security hologram off, before I saw something I didn't need to see, "Married." I sighed to myself as I leaned my head back against the throne, and slammed my fist down against the arm rest. It's so much worse than I thought, I was merely hoping she was only good for his manly needs. But judging by that smile and the blue in his eyes when he's with her.

This idiot fell in love.

"What do you suppose we do sir?" Admiral Tarkin questioned from my other hologram.

I pointed to him, "Tell him what you've found, don't mention that I know about this. He will take her and run, and I can't have that. Threaten him to end it, tell him you won't tell me if he does." That should get him to keep his distance from her for some time, then I'll order someone to kill the girl. But I can't make it too obvious that it was me, I have to be sneaky about it, just like with Ahsoka. Or he will rebel against me.

I know Lord Vader is still present, I had the pleasure of watching him kill Obi-Wan. Although I did sense hesitation in him.. I'm sure I can push him right back into being my obedient slave soon enough without that girl clouding his mind, I need him for this Empire to strive. I need his power.

Tarkin nodded, "I'll speak with him and get back to you soon."

I stared angrily at his unconscious body in the medical wing, "You will learn your place once again Lord Vader." It turned to face the doctors,"Cut off his pain meds, keep him alive, but make sure he's suffering." I spat in a harsh tone.

The people in the room nodded quickly as I walked past them and out of the door, I'm going to kill this girl my fucking self, she is making him weak.

I stopped a random employee in the hallway, their eyes widened with fear as they stood there visibly shaking, "You, where can I find a mechanic by the name (y/n)?"

He swallowed nervously, "She'll either be in the hangar or her room at the end of the east hall, but I heard she might be on a supply run."

I scoffed, how convenient.

Of course he sent her away, knowing full well that I would be coming here. He's smart, I'll give him that, but now comes the hunt.

"One hundred thousand credits will be awarded to the bounty hunter who finds this (y/n) (y/l/n). I want her alive," I growled at the dozens of bounty hunters in my presence, "Do not bring me a dead body or you will soon join her in the underworld."

Say goodbye to your Death Star.

I didn't need to be there to know what he's done. I screamed in anger as I killed the closest person to me in a fit of rage, "Bring me that girl!" I shouted to the hunters.

I was shaking with how pissed off I was, this was the final straw, I don't care if he knows I'm the one who is going to murder that wife of his. He knows about Ahsoka now, so it's all too late, he's rebelling and I won't be able to bring him back. I'll have to figure out my own way to keep this war in my pocket without him.

Because now I'm going to kill him.

But not before I make him watch as I kill her slowly and painfully.
