16-On Board
(y/n)'s POV
It's been four months since I last saw him..
Since I last heard his voice..
Even after all this time am I still a crying mess?
Absolutely.
I was completely heart broken.
What made it worse is that it's not like he hasn't come back. Over the past four months he's been here a total of five times, only a few hours at a time then he'd leave again but he was still here, and each time he avoided me at all costs. I wasn't allowed in his office when he was here. He even had clone troopers place me in my room whenever he walked the halls. It was so hurtful. I hated him for doing this to me.
Anytime I knew he was here, I called to him in my mind. I said everything I could possibly think of to get him to come see me, but he never did.
I even went as far as to call him some pretty bad names, names I shouldn't repeat ever again, hoping I'd anger him and he'd come here in a fit of rage. I knew he didn't have it in him to actually do anything to me, I just needed him here with me. I missed him so much and it fucking hurt like hell, especially with the fact that he didn't even give me an explanation.
He just ghosted me.
Even after everything.
I really thought things were going to be different after that day on Kashyyyk. I thought he'd fallen for me just as hard as I had for him. But of course, it meant nothing I guess, at least that's how he's made me feel.
"You need to eat," Adam pulled me out of my deep thoughts as we sat together at the breakfast table, he knew something was different, that something was bothering me. "Please." He pushed the tray of food in front of me and I sighed as I picked a piece of toast and took a bite.
"Happy?" I half smiled at him as I chewed the bland toast.
He smiled, "Yes I am actually."
I gave a small chuckled as I continued slowly eating the food and fidgeting with my necklace, that I feel like I should take off but I can't seem to.
"Are you ever going to tell me what's been going on with you these past few months?" He sighed as he leaned back in his chair.
I looked up to meet his concerned gaze and shook my head, "No."
He groaned a little frustrated, "Tell me something at least, I've felt so helpless watching you fall apart."
I sighed as I dropped the barely eaten toast on the plate, "I don't need anyone's help Adam, I'm fine." I stood up from the table and grabbed my tray as I walked away from him to throw the tray away.
Before he could start to follow me I left the room and began to walk towards mine, wanting to just sleep the day away since I have no tasks at the moment. Just as soon as I was about to reach the door I heard my name being called and I turned around to see Tarkin and Piett coming towards.
"Hello Admiral Tarkin, Captain Piett," I nodded to both of them, "What do you have for me today?" I smiled thinking he was going to assign me something and I was kind of hoping for it, it'd be a good distraction.
"Off site mission." Tarkin spoke in his normal monotone voice.
"Oh?" I tilted my head curiously,"When, where, and what?"
"It's one of our small cruisers that landed on Hoth, it received some damage but nothing that you won't be able to fix. You'll be leaving now." He gestured for me to follow him, "It should be a quick, you'll be home in time for dinner. I've already placed everything you'll need on the ship and we have a five clone troopers that will be escorting you there." We walked into the Hangar and I was excited to go to a new planet, even if it is Hoth. Plus this should be an amazing distraction.
"Uh maybe we can get a different mechanic to go," Piett commented causing us both to stop and look at him confused, "You know, a more skilled one."
I narrowed my eyes at him but before I could speak, Tarkin spoke for me, "Shes the best we have, so she's going." He spoke sternly.
"Well then maybe I can go with her." He added with a nod.
Why is he being so damn weird?
Tarkin shook his head as he shot him an annoyed glare, "Not necessary."
Piett looked between us both with a bit of a panic in his eyes before sighing and walking away. "That was weird." I mumbled as I rolled my eyes.
"I'll have to talk to him," He shook his head before looking back to me, "Come back to me with a report when you've returned."
"Yes Admiral." I nodded respectfully before he turned around and left as well. I stepped in the ship that had about six clone troopers inside. "I thought there were only supposed to be five of you?"
One of them nodded, "Yeah but I felt like coming, I need a break from this place. Don't tell Tarkin on me." He half smiled.
I shook my head with a chuckle, "Don't worry your secret is safe with me."
"Ready Miss?" One of then asked as they tossed me a jacket, thankfully. If Hoth is anything like I've read about, it's going to be freezing. But I've never seen snow before so there's a bright side to everything I guess.
I nodded, "Let's go."
~*~•~*~
"There it is right there." One of the clones pointed to the ship in the snow in the distance. It was almost hard to see due to the snow filled air but I could start to make out the gray metal. "I don't see any other clones or Imps." He looked curiously.
"Thats strange, check the area first for any rebels, you never know with them anymore." Another trooper spoke as the first one began getting closer so they could see the ground. "Mmm it looks-"
He was cut off by the sound of an explosion and the ship jerked to the side, causing me to fly into the wall.
"We've been hit!" The alarms to the ship began blaring as the ship began to spin out of control. "Damn rebels! When did they get weapons like that?!"
I fell to the floor and I was getting dizzy by the constant spinning. I felt a trooper pull me to my feet, "Put this one!" He placed a helmet over my head.
"Brace yourselves!"
I gripped tightly against the wall and the last thing I saw was the ship heading straight for the snowy floor before a crash and then everything went black.
Piett's POV
Oh god. Oh god. Oh god.
It's been twelve hours since she left for the mission on Hoth and we just received word that they found the crash site, with six bodies and no survivors have been found. That's the five clones and her..
She was dead and now so was I.
He told me to keep her away from traveling missions and to watch over her to make sure no one treated her unfairly. It was my job to keep an eye on her and I failed, I didn't mean to fail.. I tried to get her to not be apart of that mission or for me to at least accompany her so I'll know she's okay. But Tarkin forbid it..
I don't know what Lord Vader's issue with this girl is but as far as I can tell, I think he was in love with her. Which is not something I ever expected to see but that secret was always going to remain safe with me. Not just because I didn't want to die but because I've always been loyal to Lord Vader even more than the Emperor himself.
Now it doesn't even matter and I'm dead anyway. At least I'll have some time before he shows up-
"Captain Piett." My eyes widened and I slowly turned to see the man himself.
Shit.
"Hello My Lord I didn't expect to see you here so soon." I saluted to him as he walked past me and I knew that was my cue to follow him.
"I heard one of our ships was attacked by rebels this morning." He began and I had to hold in my panic.
"Yes sir and there's something you shou-"
He sighed, "I don't care about details, just write a report as usual and place it on my desk for me to look over." We turned a corner and were just about to reach his office.
"Of course my lord bu-" I tried telling him again but he cut me off.
"And make sure to include the numbers of the clones that were killed in the crash so I know who to mark off, it was no survivors correct?" He reached his door and turned to me.
I nodded with a sigh, "Yes no one on board made it out alive, so you should know tha-"
"Very well you're dismissed." He opened his door and was about to step inside.
"My Lord!" I almost shouted causing him to stop and turn to face me with a confused and also irritated glare.
Oh god.. please don't kill me when I say it, I tried stopping it, I really did.. but fucking Tarkin never listens.
"Piett spit it out before I choke it out." He growled and I took a deep breathe.
"(y/n) was on board sir." I held my breathe expecting to be decapitated or choked. But what he did next surprised me.
"Anything else?" He asked with a stone cold expression.
I shook my head in surprise, "Uh no my Lord."
"Then you're dismissed." He turned away from me and walked inside, closing the door behind him.
Maybe I was wrong, maybe he wasn't in love with her. That actually went a lot better than I thought it woul- My thoughts were cut off by the sound of shouting coming from his office and the breaking of furniture.
Nevermind.
Rebel's (Doc) POV
"Shes an Imp, why are you trying to save her?" Clay questioned as I began to get the blood bags out to save the woman we found near the crash. It's a miracle she survived but she's losing so much blood. She had a helmet on her head that stopped any head trauma, which might be the only reason she is alive. That and also the cold air, she'd been out there for a while and the cold temperatures slowed down her bleeding a lot.
I sighed, "She's a person and she's dying. I'm a doctor and saving lives is what I do not matter who they are." I snapped at him causing him to back away, "Besides you don't know her story." I added as I finished bandaging her wounds and connecting the IV to place the O negative in her.
"He's right Doc, she's still an Imp and you're wasting resources on her that we could use." Rachel was throwing a ball against a
wall and catching it in her hand, "Besides I shot that ship down with the intention of killing everyone on board, what you're doing is ridiculous."
"Look at her," I gestured to her clothing that was only partially removed, in a respectable way. I needed to sew gashes she had on her hip and chest. As well as pull a piece of metal from her abdomen. "She's not even dressed like one, she could easily have been a prisoner, she could even be one of us." I tried defending the poor girl since she had no way of defending herself.
Rachel stood up and looked at the girl before sighing, "That could be true, besides I've never seen a beautiful Imp before." She smirked.
I rolled my eyes, "Back away Rach, you have a girlfriend."
She chuckled, "It's not illegal to window shop." She ruffled my hair and went to leave our medical room to be with the rest of the rebels.
"You can leave too Clay, I'm about to take her clothes off to clean her up and I want to give her some respect." I informed him and he sighed before standing up and leaving the room. I got up and closed the door behind him because I already knew he would try to peak. "Alright I'm just going to wash all the blood off you now." I spoke like she could hear me. It made me feel better about doing things like this since I'm a man and most women would freak out. But all I wanted was to help her.
I heard her groan and she tilted her head to the side without opening her eyes but her face scrunched like she was in pain, "Ana-" she spoke and I knelt down next to her.
"Hey it's okay I'm here to help, you've lost a lot of blood and suffered some major injuries." I grabbed my rag and began cleaning the blood from her neck. She flinched at the contact.
"Cold-" she mumbled out.
"I know I'm sorry but you're covered in blood, I have to get it off of you." I continued wiping gently.
"Pain-" She grunted and she started to get louder, "It hurts please make it stop." She cried.
"Okay okay hold on." I jumped up and looked through my station for some medications to put her under for awhile. I came back to her and began injecting it in her arm, "Here this will make it go away."
She finally opened her eyes and looked at me, "Thank you." She whispered before the drugs took affect and she fell back into unconsciousness.
Vader's POV
I stood in the middle of the chaos I created, breathing heavily. My coffee table was shattered, my desk was in pieces, and lightsaber marks were on the wall.
She was gone..
She couldn't be, I left to protect her and she just died anyway.
I wanted to break down.
But there was one thing in my mind right now, one thing I had to do before I gave in to my pain.
Get the rebels that killed her and kill them.
I had already taken care of all the bases I learned of but of course there's more, there always will be. I may have killed hundreds of rebels these past four months but no doubt there's still hundreds more.
Wherever these ones may be, they can't be too far from where the crash is.
I exited my room and hurried down the hall to my ship.
I didn't tell anyone where I was going. I didn't need to. I was going to do this alone.
(a/n Hope you liked this chapter!! I can't wait to write the next one honestly because I already know what I plan to do!
