Random held up a finger to Katie. "Uh, yeah.. hold that thought." He muttered. His distraction was clear because he didn't even bother to look down at her. "I'll be right back." The brunette left Katie to huff and puff and blow the house down, by herself. She'd get over it. She was absolutely head over heels for him anyway. Who could blame her? Sure, Ransom's personality was shit but he was such a charmer, and so dreamy.
He strode over to you, confident and cocky as ever. "Hey there sweet thing," he'd shamelessly flirt, one hand leaning on the table to support his weight. You looked up from where you were sipping on your drink. There stood, in all his glory, Hugh Ransom Drysdale. "Can I help you?" You asked with a raised eyebrow, there was no irritation in your voice though. "Why yes, actually." Hugh had responded in a matter-of-fact tone. "I lost my number. Can I have yours?" He said smoothly.
You stared at the broad-shouldered stranger for a moment. Then a smile tugged at your lips and you giggled, tucking some hair behind your ear. "I've never heard a pickup line so smooth. I might just have to after that, huh?" You joked, grinning shyly. Random smirked. Perfect. You would be easy to get wrapped around his finger. You seemed far more interesting than boring old Katie anyway. Perhaps he'd have more fun with you. "It seems so." Hugh chuckled lowly. "So then, is that a yes?" He questioned, arching his brow.
You pretended to think it over before nodding. "I'd be happy to. It's not everyday I run into a handsome stranger. Speaking of, what's your name?" You asked, tilting your head as you peered up at him. "Ransom Drysdale, sweetheart.. but you can call me yours." The brunette flirted with a wink, bringing his phone out and opening his contacts. Then he handed it to you so you punch in your name and number, which you gladly did so. "You're the grandson of that man who died recently, right?" You looked at Hugh while you handed his phone back.
Random looked at the new contact then put his phone away. You noticed his expression harden when you brought up his grandfather. "That's me." He forced a smile, gritting his teeth as he did so. "If you ask me, it was his time anyway." He said quite casually. Though Random caught himself quickly after. "What I mean is, he was old and sick. It was probably best. Now he's no longer hurting." You smiled softly at his concern for his grandfather. "Well, he got very lucky to have you as a grandson." "It seems so." He agreed.
"Anyways, I've gotta run, but it was nice to meet you." Hugh mused with a smirk. Before you could say anything, he turned on his heels and walked back over to join Katie in line. Your eyes followed and you watched as his arm wrapped around Katie's waist while he apologized. Oh, so Ransom was a sleazebag who just intended to cheat on his girlfriend. You wouldn't let that happen, at least not with you.
