Prologue

WARNING: This series was written in 2014, so the quality isn't good. There will be plot holes, poor narration and vocabulary, short chapters and many other flaws. The current Naruto fanfics I'm working on are Konoha's Prodigies and Switched, which aren't as horrible as this story.

I shall give a brief introduction about myself and my family before we start my story. My name is Sakura Momochi, daughter of the infamous Zabuza Momochi and a normal civilian by the name Mebuki. My father, known as the 'Demon of the Hidden Mist' has short spiky black hair and brown eyes. Half of his face is always covered to hide his jagged teeth. It is a gene passed down by his father, which is my grandfather. I look nothing like him,but I inherited his strong chakra which proved I'll be a strong shinobi one day.

My memory of my mother, Mebuki Momochi is very vague. The last memory in my mind is when she left us, my family, for a man named Kizashi Haruno. I have inherited my mother's appearance, which I'm not too sure if I should be happy about. She is not someone I hold pleasant feelings toward.

I have an older sibling who is a great shinobi, known as the 'Monster of the Hidden Mist' or 'The Tailless Tailed Beast'. My father, without a doubt, is very proud of him. He has a distinctive shark-like appearance, small round eyes and dark blue hair, gill-like facial markings under his eyes and actual gills on his shoulders. He looked more like our grandfather who has a similar appearance with a shark.

Both my father and brother are a part of Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. They trained me frequently in hopes I will follow their footsteps and appear to be a successful and well known kunoichi. I did quite well as a kid, but I'm not nearly as good as them. I didn't want to fight, I hate killing, I couldn't bear to harm anybody. My father disliked me for being soft hearted, I was a disgrace to him, to our family.

On one fateful day, Kisame overpowered Zabuza in their spar. He thought that staying here would only stop him from reaching his full potential, so he decided to leave, to strive and become stronger, fighting with stronger opponents to improve his skills. Zabuza was proud of him as always, so he wished him luck and happily watched as my brother left the village. While I..was alone with my father.

After a few months, we met a boy who seemed a few years older than me on a bridge. Zabuza saw his potential and decided to keep him, naming him Haku. Soon, his attention turned to Haku instead of me, his own daughter. I was jealous of Haku, but he never fails to cheer me up. He may seem cold blooded, but he has a very warm heart. We became very close because we don't have any friends anyway.

Zabuza has been cold and harsh towards me for a few months until one day he finally decided to abandon me.

"I had enough of you. Now get out from my sight!" He yelled.

All I could do was cry and cry and cry. I stared at him, unable to mutter words for him to let me stay. Then, I turned my gaze to Haku, but he avoided my eyes and stared at the ground with sympathy pooling his orbs.

"You are too soft hearted, Sakura. You do not have what it means to be a Momochi! The daughter of the 'Demon of the Hidden Mist' isn't someone like you! Now, scram!" Zabuza shouted again, full of disappointment and anger. I was heartbroken.

"T-Tou-san.." My voice cracked.

"I have no time for you." he walked away, leaving me. Haku took a last glance at me and caught up with my father.

"T-TOU-SAN!!" I burst out crying until my tears ran out. I was crushed, I was devastated. What hurts more than being disowned by your parents? I sobbed to the point that my lungs hurt, but it was not as painful as my heart.

I was left freezing in the middle of the woods, I didn't know where to go. I have nothing and I have nobody. With my eyes' condition, my vision was effected. It felt extremely uncomfortable and insecure. The low temperature of the surrounding did not do anything to help my swollen eyes.

Finally picking up my courage, I started walking but headed towards nowhere. A bunch of rogue ninjas saw me as they passed by and kidnapped me. I did not fight back, I knew I wouldn't win anyway. I was just a small useless kid, abandoned by her own father. I have no reason to live anymore, I have nowhere to go, there was nobody waiting for me to come back. It was then that I have surrender my life.

Just then, a ninja rescued me. He knocked out all of the ninjas alone. His face was entirely covered with a white clay mask with red streaks. Once the entire place is covered with lifeless bodies, he carried me away to a safer place.

When he took off his mask, behind it revealed another cloth covering half of his face much like my father. His headband showing his identity as a leaf village's shinobi covered his left eye.

"Where are your parents?" He squat down so we were about the same height.

"T-They left me.." I said and a tear fell again.

He placed a hand on my head and ruffled it lightly.

"Do you want to come to my village?"

I looked at him for a moment and nodded, wanting to have a home to return to. I was being hopeful to belong somewhere again. I wanted to become a ninja just like my father and my brother wants me to.

He carried me on his back as we took of to his village. I would have ran on my own, but I wanted to be pampered just this once. On our way, he asked me some questions about myself. I began telling him the story of my family, all about it, revealing my family members and Haku. He showed little pity for experiencing such things at such a young age. He was also surprised to know who my father and brother was. I was clueless at first, but he filled me in about the world I was oblivious to.

He told me about them being S-class criminals, bad people. I did not understand at first, but he patiently explained what an S-class criminal was. He also updated me about my brother. It seems he joined an organisation called Akatsuki. He has also changed his last name to Hoshigaki. Kisame Hoshigaki. I never knew why. After hearing their stories from him, I refused to accept that they are criminals. They have been nice to me and I have never seen them kill a person in front of me.

Soon we reached the village which is Hidden in the Leaves. We immediately headed to the Hokage tower, the tallest building in the village. The Hokage had a questioning look when he saw me, but he kept his silence as my saviour reported about his mission. The ninja who helped me which I learnt his name is Kakashi Hatake continued reporting about bumping into me and told the Hokage how I was abandoned and had no place to go.

The Hokage was surprised to hear about S-class criminals being related to me by blood, he was suspicious even. He asked me many questions in which I answered them honestly to gain his trust. I understood that he does not want to put the village into danger.

"Do you want to he a ninja?" He asked.

I thought for awhile and answered, "Yes, I want to pwoof to Tou-san that I'm not useless. I want to pwove him wong. And I want to show him and aniki that it isn't necessary to cross the wong pav to eawn a weputation and gain more powew as well" I bravely answered, but mentally slapped myself at my poor pronunciation.

"Very well, I shall enrol you to the Ninja Academy here and you will start next week. Now let's move on to you staying here." I sighed in relief that he accepted me despite me being a citizen from another village and being related to S-class criminals.

"You're still very young, so I can't let you live alone especially when you're a foreigner.. We need to find you a guardian..." The Hokage muttered.

"Hokage-sama, I would like to take full responsibility on her as I'm the one who found her. I believe she'll trust me more. " I was shocked to hear this from Kakashi.

The Hokage looked at Kakashi as he stood tall at his request. "Very well. You shall take full responsibility of her. Sakura is it? Feel free to come visit me anytime, especially when Kakashi is on a mission, alright?" He smiled.

"Yes Hokage-sama!" I beamed.

"Such young child with such great respect. Just jii-san will do"

"Respect to eldewly is a must! Howevew, I'll call yew Hokage jii-sama instead!" I grinned

"Alright alright" he chuckled.

"Come Sakura, ready to see your new home?" Kakashi looked at me.

"Yes!!" I squealed.

For a short moment, I forgot about the incidents which happened earlier on that day. I felt hope, joy and warmth. It was comfortable. It felt like home.

Welcome to my first Naruto fanfiction and also my first ever work to be published here on Wattpad! Now, I apologise if this isn't up to your expectations or not up to standard of a good fanfiction. I'm very aware of that. Also, this fanfiction is not well-developed, some characters are out of character and all sorts. I'm too lazy to reconstruct it hahaha

Anyway, check my newer fanfictions, I promise that they are definitely better!
