🌸Illogical Love🌸

Sakura Haruno was not a stupid girl. She was, in fact, what most people would call a nerd. She spent more time with her books than with her friends, and always maintained straight A's in school. She never did anything illogically, she always thought things through. She never intended to fall in love. Love was illogical and unnecessary, and she wanted no part of it.

But she couldn't deny the fact that her heart pounded in her ears every time he looked her way, that her breathing quickened every time they spoke, that she'd put on the dress and makeup because she knew it was his birthday.

She considered turning back several times on the way to school, there was no way she was going in there dressed like...like...like a Barbie.

But she didn't, and now she stood outside the doors of Konoha High School, and willed her feet to move. They didn't respond. She stood for what felt like hours, incapable of pushing through those big glass doors. Students filed in past her, barely paying her a glance.

"S-sakura!" A familiar voice shouted, and Hinata Hyuga joined her. "Why aren't you-?" She trailed off as she took in the pink haired girl's outfit. "W-what's the occasion?"

      Sakura shifted. "N-nothing!"

Hinata raised an eyebrow. "You're stuttering. That's my job." Strangely, she didn't stutter. Suddenly, a mischievous glint sparkled in her eyes. "It's him, isn't it?" She giggled girlishly when Sakura nodded mutely. "I knew it!" She hugged the girl hard. "You're in love!"

"Who's in love?" Ino asked, nearing them.

"Sakura!" Hinata squealed before the embarrassed girl could stop her.

"Oh really?" Ino looked at the flushed pink. "Who's the unfortunate guy?"

      Hinata smacked her.

Sakura shook her head. "I'm just going to go now." She ran toward her car and slammed the door. Before her two friends could stop her, she was gone.

Sakura spent all day curled up in her bed watching Netflix. She received three texts from Ino, and dozens from Hinata, so she turned off her phone and buried it in her dresser.

At half past five, her mom appeared in the doorway. "Sweetie, there's someone here to see you."

Sakura groaned and rolled out of bed. "Why can't they just leave me alone?"

Her mom said nothing and merely stepped aside as Sakura stormed downstairs.

She flung the door open. "Look, I don't-" But it wasn't Ino or Hinata.

Sasuke Uchiha was staring at her, mouth drifting slightly open. Sakura crossed her arms to stifle her utter embarrassment, she was still wearing the nice outfit and makeup, having been too lazy to take it off.

      "Um, hi?" She choked out.

Sasuke shook his head to clear it. "Sorry! Hi Sakura." He ran a hand through his hair. "You look nice."

      She blushed furiously. "Thanks."

"Why weren't you at school?" He suddenly asked.

She shrugged. "I guess I wasn't feeling that well." At his concerned look she added, "I'm better now though."

"Oh." He nodded. "That's good." He shifted uncomfortably. "So listen, are you doing anything Friday night?"

Ignoring her inner fangirl screaming, Sakura looked at him suspiciously. "Did Ino or Hinata put you up to this?"

      He appeared confused. "What? No!"

She nodded slowly. "Okay, um, no. I'm not doing anything Friday." She amended at his panic stricken look.

"So, do you want to..." He trailed off, obviously embarrassed.

She giggled. He was so cute when he was flustered. "Sure."

Gah, that was trashy. Oh well. Sigh. It was my first attempt at something like this, so there's a lot of room for improvement.
