Sakura Blooms: [Chapter 61]
"What is your name?"
"Sakura."
"What village are you from?"
"Konohagakure."
Tsunade paused, watching her patient carefully. She seemed fine, sitting up straight in her bed and allowing Tsunade to perform multiple tests on her without complaint. She acts better than most of my patients, she thought dryly before putting her clipboard face down. "Sakura. While you were in a coma, the Council had already decided your fate, as much as I fought against them. You'll be under probation for the next six months, with ANBU watching your every move. Naturally, you won't be able to leave the village, or leave your house, really, unless for special circumstances, which there are."
Sakura sat diligently, listening to every word she said. She nodded nonchalantly, as if prodding her to continue.
"I'm putting you under treatment about three months into your probation, so halfway or so. Inoichi Yamanaka will be helping you explore your past, as well as discovering things about you that you might not know. Or what we might not know," Tsunade added in, raising an eyebrow at Sakura. "Of course, this is all under the pretense that you want to remain a shinobi. There are other things that I would like to establish, but this is the most important. Do you want to stay in Konoha?"
Sakura nodded quietly, her mind in a different place. She thought about her conversation with Hashirama, and how much that had impacted her, and would probably continue to impact her. "Hai."
"Good." Tsunade stood up, then took her clipboard with her. "I've got an appointment for the new chūnin. Shikamaru Nara is your acquaintance, right? Smart kid." She turned and left the hospital room with Sakura all by herself, not including the ANBU next to the doorway that was watching her carefully.
Sakura sighed, then looked out the window of her room, wondering if this was what the next six months would be like. She clutched her chest, her heart pounding. Something is going to happen, she thought, just as a flash of orange appeared then disappeared from the window, causing her to open the window, ignoring the ANBU's movements. Instinctually, Sakura removed the tubes from her arms and then hopped onto the windowsill, then climbed out onto the wall using her chakra. It seems they have not suppressed it yet.
"Hey! Don't move!"
She heard the ANBU bark an order, but Sakura ignored them and continued to climb at a rapid pace. She reached the rooftop of the hospital, finding drying sheets from the beds swaying in the wind. The pinkette looked around cautiously, then heard the familiar noise of Sasuke's chidori being made. "Rasengan!"
Sakura broke into a sprint, her head pounding and her knees weak, as the strange feeling in her stomach returned. She passed all the racks of drying sheets only to find a scene she wasn't all surprised by: Sasuke, with his chidori, and Naruto, with his rasengan, both aiming at each other with deadly intent.
Even though she wasn't surprised, however, Sakura's body froze before she felt herself break into a sprint once more. She heard the pitter-patter of her bare feet on the smooth concrete, and a scream she would later identify as her own. "Stop!" Sakura skidded to an abrupt end as she now found herself in between her two teammates.
"Sakura?" Both Naruto and Sasuke froze, their eyes wide open in shock when they saw Sakura standing in between them with her arms held out. It's too late to turn back, they realized, yet still tried to pull their arms away from her.
Suddenly, vines appeared out of nowhere, pushing the boys away from the ground. They both crashed into water tanks, caused them to give out. Water sprayed all around them in mayhem. Sakura stood frozen, exactly where she was, taking in what had happened. I was about to die...and then vines came from my hands. She stared at her hands blankly, while hospital staff filed onto the roof to watch the disaster at work. She shivered, realizing she was soaked from head to toe in water in nothing but a hospital gown.
Sakura heard the splish-splash from someone approaching her from behind. Two hands grabbed her shoulders and spun her around, only to find it was Sasuke. "You shouldn't have done that," he growled, then ran off of the rooftop onto a tree. He quickly disappeared from her sight.
"Sakura-chan?" Naruto hollered her name until he found her. "Why did you do that?! Why would you interfere?" He looked at her with hurt and anger in his eyes.
"My body moved on its own," Sakura replied, not looking at him. Her eyes were still on the water tanks. The one Sasuke had crashed into had a large hole in the front, but not in the back. Naruto's, however, was small in the front, but in the back, the metal looked like it had been completely destroyed.
Naruto took her faraway look as ignoring him. He huffed and turned away from her, then also left the scene. Sakura clutched her chest, then grimaced. Why is it my heart hurts?
"Sakura!" The doors to the rooftop slammed open, revealing Tsunade, who looked angry. Very angry. "What the hell happened here?! Explain to me, now!" The blonde stormed over.
Sakura looked around, then back at Tsunade. "My team is falling apart." She paused then shook her head. "No, my team has fallen apart."
Tsunade stared at her before blinking and putting a hand on her shoulder, guiding her back downstairs. She shot a nasty glare at the ANBU that hadn't been able to control her and then went inside with Sakura. "You can't leave without permission again, otherwise I'll have to add on to your probation," she scolded the girl. However, she didn't respond, and only looked at her hands once more.
We're seeing the reoccurrence of those vines from Sakura! Do you think she'll be able to control it?
Naruto and Sasuke seemed pretty upset with Sakura. How will this event effect their dynamics?
