A shiver of rare apprehension managed to make its way out of the younger ANBU member. 'Stay focused, follow protocol and procedure accordingly,' he thought to himself, mentally slapping himself to get ready for the raid.

He slipped on his vest and strapped on his kunai holder, then adjusted his tantō on his back. The ANBU member tied his wooden mask on next, and then left without hesitation.

He was the first to arrive at their meeting point, a back alley in the slums of Konohagakure. There were a few drunks and homeless people passed out, with no other signs of life in the early morning. Shortly after the ANBU member got there, the others came too, only greeting each other with grim nods. From the back alley, the squad moved out to the gates, moving fluidly from intense training few could undertake.

The ANBU member corrected his earlier thought. He was not apprehensive, he decided, an eerie smile stretching across his face from underneath his mask. He was excited.

"It's all clear here," he whispered into the microphone, connecting to the rest of his team.

"Same here."

"Sa—" The line went dead. Quickly, with much concentration, the teenager with grey hair sensed the air for foreign chakra signatures. There was a small but steady chakra force quite a long while away. As small as it was, it was unsettling.

"Remember what you are," the sinister voice told her. "You are a weapon. Your only goal is to destroy Konohagakure, and you will do well to remember that, my little success..."

Experiment #528 heard the menacing cackling get quieter as it began to fade into darkness in the large vat of unfamiliar liquid it was floating in.

'Destroy Konohagakure...'

Bright green eyes snap opened, thick vines shot out, and the glass container holding it shattered, fluids contained pouring out and covering the stone floor. Leisurely stepping over the glass and curling its fingers into fists from the exposure to the frigid air, the stark naked experiment emerged.

It was ready for the mission.
