Chapter Two: Total Eclipse- Part One

(I halfway got this idea from Sword Art Online and halfway got it from Akidearest's new video, which was titled "CALLING ALL OTAKUS TO MAKE AN ANIME!". The video was about a project from a site-- I forgot what it was called-- where they were making an anime and they needed help from the anime community, like suggesting character models and personalities. The anime will be about Esports, which are electronic sports like SAO. Go watch the video and click on the links she put in the description for more info on it!)

(Oh, and this is a AU where Saitama is 25 and Genos is 19 and it's slightly in the future. Genos has to be a human because it just wouldn't work if he had a metal body. And another side note-- today is National Girlfriend Day, so writing yaoi completely goes against that I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Saitama's POV:

Today was the day that Eclipse Six would come out, the new virtual reality game that would nearly cause all gamers to have heart attacks. The graphics were 4K and it ran with no lag at all. Sure, you had to be over eighteen to play, and have the right body type, but those were only safety precautions. Eclipse Six was a game where you yourself were put into the game and able to run around without moving in real life. It was a shooter game that would inflict a little bit of pain on wherever you were shot, but just enough to know that you were hit. You could choose from different classes.

Sniper- basically what the name is. They tend to camp and snipe most of the time, but very rarely you'll meet one who will run around and be able to maintain a 5.0 kill/death ratio. They wear very heavy armor since they don't run around much, although they can switch to light if they do run around. They're not very fast, and they can climb walls using special boots that come with the class.

Engineer- same, just what the name is. They tend to craft sentries and place them everywhere, and most people hate them just because of that. Some camp as well but not as often as Snipers. Engineers carry heavy shotguns and machine guns with heavy armor and they run very slowly. They can't climb walls but they have a special ability to where they turn invincible for a short amount of time.

Fighter- what the name is. Fighters are like the run-and-gunners of the group, but most only have pistols with them along with swords or daggers. Most have phaseblades, which are like lightsabers. Phaseblades can come in many different colors. Fighters have the ability to execute someone if they sneak up behind behind them. They have no magical abilities, just like the Engineer and Sniper, but they do have enhanced strength.

Cleric- the nurse of the group. Some can fly around like angels (Overwatch, anyone?) whilst others can run extremely fast. They have the ability to heal people but also increase their strength and speed using different spells using some of their mana which has a limit after a while. Clerics are one of the only magic users in the game besides Mages.

And last but not least, the Mage- they have magically abilities but are physically weak. At close range, they are practically useless. They are more of a long range class due to the staffs they have, which they can choose colors for, just like the phaseblades. Their mana takes a long time to run out, but once it does, they usually have to count on a Cleric to replenish it.

Yeah, I've done my research on this game. It was supposed to come out a year ago, but they decided to delay the release date. But finally, it was coming out, and my best friend Genos and I were going to play it all the time. We moved in together a while ago because he dropped out of college. Well, he just dropped out because I did a long time ago. I was too stupid to do anything there so I just gave up and became a gamer. Genos followed me everywhere I went and considered me as a "master" which he called me sometimes. Either that or "sensei".

Genos decided to wait in the long line that was outside of our local GameStop (screw it) while I went shopping for a while because there was a sale. We had to wait for a long time, five hours to be exact. I got back when there was around thirty minutes left.

"Sensei, how do you shop for so long?" Genos looked over at me and asked when I arrived. I shrugged and looked around at how long the line was. There were about a thousand people in line, maybe more. I'm glad we got here before anyone else. Time went by surprising fast for waiting around and doing nothing. Before we knew it, they were calling in people five at a time to pick up their copy of the game. There were only 10,000 copies in the world, and our town was lucky enough to get 250. There were only around sixty to seventy people in front of us, so we would both definitely get a copy. I was practically shaking with excitement while Genos was perfectly calm. He was kind of like a robot at times although I never mentioned it to him.

Then it was time for us to get our copies. I ran into the store as soon as they motioned for me to walk in to grab my copy. Genos tried to follow but the guards held him back much to his disappointment. He was let in soon after another person walked out of the store with the game in their hands. I reached the counter, screamed my name (and tried not to scream my number) and grabbed the copy when he held it out. I ran back outside and waited on Genos, which he came out with a slight smile on his face. I never see him show emotion so that was kind of surprising to me. I must have stared at him for a bit too long.

"Sensei, your cheeks are turning red." He said as the smile faded away. I frowned a bit and started walking back towards the car we parked around a mile away because all of the parking spaces were taken around here. I climbed in the passenger's seat as Genos started the car and I slammed the door making it was shut fully before he started driving. The ride was silent because I was reading the back and front of Eclipse Six.

We got home and I ran into the apartment leaving Genos behind and barged into my room. I ripped the case open and there was the beautiful disc that wouldn't leave my computer for a while. It launched and the main screen was like the universe, swirling with a bunch of colors. The words "plug in headset to play" were flashing on the screen as I plugged it in. I heard Genos open the door as I put the headset on, which, of course, covers your eyes. I also heard the bed creak as he laid down in it , getting ready to start as well.

"Hey Genos?" I asked him. I heard a slight noise which I assumed was him saying "what?". "Are you ready?"

"Yes Sensei. Are you?" He replied.

"You bet your ass I am, I've wanted this game for a while." I stopped for a moment. "Uh, I haven't used this thing in a while, how do you start it up?" Genos sighed and responded.

"Just reach your hand up and press the button on the side. It is the only one there, so you cannot miss it." I nodded even though he couldn't see me and placed my finger on the button, ready to press it. "I shall count down, unless you want to, Sensei?" I said no and he started to count down. "Three, two, one... go."

And I pressed the button to start our adventure together just as Genos pressed his.
