Ep 27: V and H's Trust Test of the Forgotten Void-Pt3
??? POV
Figures were surrounding me. I was stiff in place. I couldn't see their faces but I knew who they were by their dark aura surrounding them. I gritted my teeth in frustration.
"How does it feel?" One asked, their voice calm and elegant. "To be trapped in a domain where all you see darkness?" They added and punched the crystal surface. I didn't reply. I felt the burning metal in my hand but I couldn't move my hand to do a strike and break my prison.
"Don't even try it." Another sneered with confidence in their voice.
"You won't be getting out of there and if you do then it would work in our favor." The elegant voice said.
"You do remember that we also need something besides the Celestial Shards, and those things are the ones who call you to the overworld meaning that they will be in one place, one place for us to take them." The confident voice said, followed by a laugh, a laugh I didn't like at all.
"Don't worry, you will come out soon." They sneered and I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer, feeling my energy leaving my body. Slowly I closed my eyes and let the ever lasting darkness suck me back in.
Present Time:Earth
Usagi's POV
It has been over a week since Minako and Yaten have been in their sleeping state and they haven't woken up at all during that time.
"Odango!" I felt myself being pulled into an embrace. A honk of a truck rang through my ears. I looked up to see Seiya looking at me with concern. He took a hold of my shoulders and his concerning gave slowly turned into a stern one. "Look where you are going! Do you know what would have happened if I wasn't around?!" He scolded.
"I'm sorry. I was thinking about Minako and Yaten." I said while looking down. He sighed.
"Come on, let's go to her house and see if there is anything." He said while placing an arm around me. I nodded and let him lead me to her house.
"Have you guys contacted her mom to not make her worry?" He asked.
"No. They don't have the greatest relationship." I said.
"I see. That too bad. I would have loved to know my parents." He said. I looked at him.
"You don't know your parents?" I asked on shock.
"No. When we are chosen to be a Starlight we don't meet them, since having a family would make us want to protect them and not our planet." He said.
"That seems horrible." I said while pressing my lips into a thin line.
"Don't worry. It is something that has been done since forever. The rule must be followed, no matter how much it pains us." He said while his voice went softer with each word. I frowned.
"Not to offend your customs but that seems too cruel. I think you guys should have the right to know your family." I said.
"I wish that could happen but with the council we have, I doubt that will happen in this era. Probably later when the next Starlights gets chosen." He said.
"I don't think you guys should wait that long for that to happen." I said.
"It's how we do it. If there was any way that we could change the rules then we would but unfortunately there isn't. There is the choice of transfer though. I'm not sure how it works but according to the old scrolls, we have the right to transfer but there are certain requirements that we should reach. Unfortunately the term of transferring isn't very known to many guardians so they pass their whole lives never hearing about it. Not having a chance to change their life." He said.
"Transfer? What's that?" I asked.
"As I said, it is in the old scrolls, made by the original guardian that guarded the universe. I only got a glimpse of them when I was in training. Transferring is something like you transfer to protect another region. When you transfer you are liberated of the rule of your old region." He said.
"What about your powers?" I asked.
"Not sure. As I said, I just took a glimpse and back then I didn't know what it was until years later." He said.
"Then if you can transfer...you could transfer here?!" I asked excitedly.
"I think. If that were true then I wouldn't have to do all these rules that limit me to only one thing." He said.
"That would be great." I said.
"Yeah. But I never saw the requirements so that option is off limits." He said. I frowned. He noticed and gave me a pat on the head. "Don't worry. It's ok if I can't get out of these rules, I'm just happy you don't have to follow these cruel rules." He said with a grin. At that point we had already arrived at Minako's house. I knocked on the door to be greeted by Taiki, Ami, and Artemis.
"I was expecting you to come." Taiki said. Ami nodded and they moved out of the door way to let us in. I heard the door close and saw Ami go back to her seat on the couch, picking up a book to read.
"Has there been anything new?" Seiya asked while taking a seat next to his brother who one on the counter.
"No." Taiki replied. Usagi sat kn the couch next to Ami.
"It has been a week and still nothing." I said while looking down on my lap. I clenched the cloth of my skirt. "How much time do that have left?" I asked while looking at the hourglass on the counter.
"At most two days and a half." Ami replied.
"Not much time in other words." Seiya said.
"At least for them. They have about an hour left in the void." I said.
"Yeah. I hope they have some kind of progress." Ami said. I nodded. I hope so too.
58:45 minutes left-Void
Through the door we saw a kingdom made of crystal. 'Now we traveled to the future?' I asked myself. This looked exactly like Crystal Tokyo of the 30th century.
"This would be beautiful if it weren't an illusion." Yaten-Kun said.
"Yeah. But this will become a reality in a few centuries." I said and stepped out. The creek of the doors could be heard from behind and soon the doors closed, leaving us without an exit.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked.
"This is Crystal Tokyo, the 30th century version of Tokyo today." I said.
"What?!?" He exclaimed. I then noticed the huge star that was over one of the towers.
"But that star wasn't there." I said and took a step forwards. I felt dizzy but I ignored it.
"If we are in a vision that includes the future, then your time travel thingy might help us out with this first test." He said.
"Maybe. I'm guessing we should go up to the tallest tower where that star is, that's the only thing that comes to my mind." I said. He nodded and we walked all the way to the entrence of the castle. At the door a panel of very high technology was attached next to the door. I placed my hand over it.
"Sailor Venus." I said. It beeped red. "Super Sailor Venus." I said. Once again the beeping and red flash was my answer.
"It won't let you in. I say we try to break in." Yaten said.
"Uhh, haven't you noticed that this is the future and they might have high security? Not to mention it's a castle where the future queen and king are?" I said while arcing an eyebrow.
"Ok if you put it that way then yeah." He said. I looked at the panel. I sighed.
"Princess Venus guardian of love and beauty." I said and it dinged green. The crystal doors opened revealing a hall way. "So it needed my title of silver millennium." I muttered.
"Well I didn't know you were a princess." He said with a light chuckle. I glared at him.
"Not anymore." I muttered and went inside. The hallways were just as I remembered them to be when we came here for the first time. 'Now that I remember I don't really know how to navigate this place.' I thought a bit panicked. I looked around seeing that the hallway didn't really branch out into different directions like I remembered. I raised and eyebrow but decided to ignore it.
We walked for a few minutes until we heard a ring of a small bell. We looked around, not finding the source of the sound.
"I didn't imagine that right?" Yaten-Kun asked. I shook my head.
"No I heard it too." My words were followed by another ring. We turned to see we were in the throne room. I didn't see Neo Queen Serenity not the kind but I guess it was because this is all just part of an illusion the void is doing to test us.
"A throne room. I'm guessing this is where Usagi will sit when she grows up." Yaten said while stepping ip to me.
"Yeah. Alongside Mauro-San." I said and looked to my right, seeing a pink flash. I narrowed my eyes.
"I think we should go to the right." I said while pointing to the door way.
"I think we should go to the left, I just saw something move there." He said. We looked at each other.
"But we can't go both ways." I said.
"Don't you think I know that? Come on let's go to the left." He said.
"I saw a flash of pink there. It must be Chibiusa." I said.
"You do remember this is all an illusion, right? Then that must have been an illusion." He said.
"Yes I know but what you saw might also be an illusion." I retorted. He gave me a low growl.
"Then how are we suppose to know what is an illusion or not?" He asked.
"I'm not sure illusions isn't my thing." I said. The ring came by again. We looked up to see Neo Queen Serenity sotting on her throne, looking down at us with an amused look.
"Well, seems like you guys still have a long way to go. If you can't agree on which side to go then you won't be able to get what you are searching for." She said which a small chuckle but soon faded away. "All of this needs to happen in order for the rest to fall into place, or there won't be any kind of future." She said and arose from her throne.
"Then what are we suppose to do?" I asked. She smiled and went up to me. I saw her golden locks slowly turning into a snow white color.
"You must have gotten confused with the illusion's riddles. What you need to do is work together to find that which you have forgotten. I am not sure what because I too have forgotten my own but the Healer of Venus is something that you two can only find if you are together." She said.
"So, we just need to think the same?" Yaten asked.
"Yes and no. You need to work together. Make an idea with both your heads, with your part of your memories." She said and moved her hand. The ground started to shake and when we looked down we were in a garden once more.
"The first test will consist of your trust for each other. Pass it, move to the next one." She said.
"Trust?" Yaten asked.
"Well that won't be a problem." I said but I wasn't sure myself.
"You will see that it won't be that easy." She said and disappeared into thin air. I sighed and looked at Yaten-Kun.
"So trust in each other will be the first test." I said.
"Apparently." He muttered. I thought for a moment. 'Did we really trust that much into each other. I mean there was some trust but was it enough for this test? I guess this test will answer just that.' I was really worried to be honest. I don't want to slip up and make us stay here for all eternity.
"Hello? Minako!" I snapped back to reality.
"Uhh, what?" I asked.
"I was asking you if over there looks familiar." He said while pointing over to. A huge pillar with my sign and a star. I arched an eyebrow. It did look familiar.
"Yeah it does." I said and went up to it. I looked over at the clock seeing that only a few seconds have passed. I turned my view back to the pillar and felt a sudden urge to reach out for it. When I tried though, Yaten stopped by hand.
"Wait, I don't think it's a good idea, it might be a trap." He said.
"But I feel a strong connection to it. Maybe this is part of my past life, and didn't that what we need to get an inch closer to the Healer of Venus?" I asked while giving him a stern look.
"Yeah but that image of Usagi as the future queen might have also been an illusion." He said. I snatched my wrist from his grasp.
"It might have but I trust Usagi, even if it's just an illusion." I said and touched the stone of the pillar. Once I did though, a shadow came out of it. We took a step back but I felt a sting at my feet. I looked down seeing a rose's thorns on my ankle. As fast as it pinned into me it soon came out but I felt weak all of the sudden.
"Minako?!" Yaten-Kim calles my name with alarm. I placed my hand on my forehead, feeling dizzy.
"I don't feel so good." I said while falling into his arms. I felt the world spin around me and felt my force slowly leave me.
"I told you that you shouldn't have touched the stone!" He snapped. I heard a crack from underneath. I didn't have enough time to react when the ground did a huge earthquake making a huge cliff. Yaten managed to get away from the fall but he got hurt in the process. I went up to him.
"Are you alright?" I asked.
"Yeah I'm fine but another move like that and we will for sure die here." He said and stood up. I looked down to the reven that was in front of us.
"Yeah." I said and turned away from the reven. "I guess that was only able to happen because I touched the pillar, the one thing you warned me about." I said while hugging myself. He sighed.
"You're an idiot for not hearing me but I guess you were kinda right. The pillar has something to do with all of this. I say we stay here for a bit and see if anything else happens, after all there was a shadow right after you touched the stone that isn't here at the moment. Maybe it's lurking around here." He said while looking around.
"True. Hey didn't you see something familiar about it? It looked like those shadows that always come out when we fight vs a Yoma or Sage." I said.
"Yeah but this one looked quite different. More...human?" He said unsure.
"Well I'm going to trust in your word since I didn't managed to see it clearly." I said while looking at the pillar. 'Where have I seen it before.' I felt my eye widen. A flash of the pillar came to my mind and a blinding light came from it, showing me a necklace with my symbol but something else came by but the vision went away.
"The pillar, it has something to do with the Healer of Venus." I said while looking at it. He looked at it too.
"You sure?" He asked.
"Yeah. The mark of Venus has to correlate in something with the Healer of Venus. I mean it kinda makes sense right?" I asked.
"Now thinking about it. Healer. Venus. Why do I have a feeling this whole thing sounds like one of Seiya's ships?" He said. I felt my eyebrow twitch. I hit him on the head making him wince. "Hey!!!! What was that about?!?!" He growled with a glare.
"This isn't about Seiya and his ship about us or whatever! This is about our lives!!!!" I snapped.
"Sorry!! But when you live with that guy for over a decade then you start to see their ships everywhere!" He snapped.
"Hey I am a shipper too!" I snapped.
"But you aren't as hard core as he is!" He snapped back.
"Ohh really? I have been a shipper for as long as I can remember and every ship I have had has sailed. That is one of the main reason I am the guardian of love." I said with pride. He sweat dropped.
"I don't believe you." He said.
"Isn't this test about trust?" I asked. He scratched the back of his neck.
"Well I mean trust is one thing, believe is another." He said nervously. I gave him a glare.
"Yeah there is such a huge difference." I said not convinced at all. The ground once more shook and another crack was made in the earth but this time Yaten-Kim didn't have the enough time. He fell in. My eyes widen and quickly reached out for him seeing that he was holding himself on one rock that for sure wouldn't last for long with his weight.
"Take my hand." I said. The rock began to crack just when he tried to reach me.
"Yeah I don't think the rock agrees on that." He said. I looked around seeing a vine that could help him go more closer to me.
"Grab the vine, you can reach it." I said. He looked at me as if I were crazy, it I was...kinda.
"Are you crazy?!?! I will fall." He said. "I don't think I can make it." He added. I saw the rock crack more.
"Yaten. There isn't much time. You don't need to think you can, trust you can, trust me." I said. He stayed silent for a moment, debating with himself until he swung himself to the vine. I held my breath, praying to Serenity that he will be able to do it. He barely managed to take a hold of it. He hit the edge, and wince in pain.
"That hurts." He said.
"Climb up before that vine snaps." I said and noticed the rock that he was holding on to break completely. 'That would have taken him with it down to the revere.' I thought. I snapped back to him and reached for his hand. I took a hold of it, ignoring the flutter in my chest by the small contact. I brought him up and the opening closed open. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"That was way too close." He said.
"Yeah." I said and smiled. "But at least I know you trust me." I added. He diverted his eyes to another direction.
"Yeah." He said. The pillar from behind us started to shake which made us stand up and looked at it. From it and opening opened revealing a small thing that I was guessing was part of a puzzle. I took a hold of it and examined it.
The metal wasn't one I was familiar with, it flowed of a golden color but when you moved it in an angle it glowed a rainbow one. There were some engraved letters but they weren't really readable because of some scratches. 'I'm guessing this thing is really old.' I thought.
"This metal I haven seen since a years ago. I thought this it ran out." Yaten said. I looked at him confused. "This metal is from my planet. It's a very rare metal, the strongest in our planet. The last bit of this metal was used for the last Starlights before us. This is used to fuse with our weapons and stuff. I wonder how it came here." He explained. I hummed. I rubbed my finger on the surface.
"This seems to be part of another bigger puzzle." I stated.
"Yeah, but what will it make?" Yaten questioned.
"I guess we won this for completing the first test." I said and looked around seeing that everything was back into place. "Nothing seems touched." I added.
"Illusions." Yaten growled lightly.
"Yeah."
