Celeste Harrow is the girl who has everything—or so it seems. She is the kind of girl whose every step turns heads, who wears her confidence like a crown, a golden gleam lighting her every movement. In the halls of Beacon Hills High, her name is spoken with awe, envy, admiration. Her laughter is loud, her style impeccable, her smile a beacon that hides her well-practiced secrets. To the outside world, she's simply that girl: popular, polished, untouchable, the kind who rules her world effortlessly.

At her side is her best friend, Lydia Martin. Lydia is the grounding, the grace, the constant Celeste clings to like a lifeline. Best friends since diapers, since tangled hair and sticky fingers, Lydia has always been more than a friend—she's a sister, a confidante, the one person who sees Celeste beyond the gloss and glamor. Together, they're a force of nature, the perfect pair, understanding each other in ways words often fail to capture. But even Lydia doesn't know everything.

Underneath the glossy surface, Celeste carries a quiet unease, a lingering feeling of something twisted beneath her picture-perfect life. She's always had secrets, and they've haunted her as far back as she can remember. The first time it happened, she was only four years old—a sleepy child, drifting through the warmth of her little bedroom when she awoke with an ache on her wrist. She looked down, confused, and saw the word there—dark and somehow ancient, a word she couldn't understand but felt in her bones. She tugged her tiny wrist from her covers and stared, wide-eyed, a whisper of dread curling in her stomach. The letters seemed to pulse like they had a life of their own.

Her parents had been alarmed, but unable to make sense of it, they brought her to doctors who, baffled, chalked it up to sleepwalking or a vivid imagination. Yet Celeste knew it wasn't something she'd conjured up in her sleep. A week after that first word appeared, something unsettling happened in Beacon Hills, a chilling event that seemed, somehow, connected to that single word. In her young mind, the word and the incident intertwined, something intangible connecting them like the threads of an invisible web.

Over the years, the words continued to appear. Every few months, she would wake to find her wrist bearing a new message, cryptic and unsettling. She would trace the letters with trembling fingers, heart pounding, feeling that the words were meant for her, that they carried a meaning hidden just beyond her reach. Some words were strange and forgotten as soon as they appeared, others etched into her mind with an ominous weight. Then, late in 2004, something changed. Celeste awoke one morning to find the word FIRE scrawled across her wrist, stark and heavy. The letters looked jagged, like they'd been carved into her skin, and they left her wrist tingling, as if the word itself was burning.

A week later, the Hale family home went up in flames—a tragedy that sent shockwaves through Beacon Hills. The town spoke of it for weeks, the loss haunting the tight-knit community. The fire seemed inexplicable, shrouded in mystery, and left three survivors scarred and silent. Celeste felt that the fire on her wrist and the fire that consumed the Hale home were connected, though she couldn't say how. She felt a strange, burning guilt as if the word had somehow willed it into existence. After the Hale fire, the words stopped. As the years drifted on, she let herself believe that whatever force had marked her, whatever dark mystery lay beneath her polished life, had vanished. She forgot. She buried it all beneath parties, popularity, and an air of perfection.

But now, six years later, the past returns to haunt her. It begins one week before her junior year—a year she's ready to tackle with ambition, poise, and excitement. She wakes that morning feeling something strange, an old ache she hasn't felt in years. When she pulls her hand from beneath her pillow, her heart stops. There, stark against her skin, is the word WOLF, the letters inked with a harsh intensity, the kind of word that carries a feeling before it's even spoken aloud. She stares at her wrist, a chill racing up her spine. She thought the words had ended; she thought she'd left all that behind. But now, here it is again, like an old shadow returning to taunt her.

As she rubs the word, trying to erase it, the feeling in her stomach twists—a knot of fear and anticipation she can't shake. The familiar halls of Beacon Hills High suddenly feel different, darker, like secrets are lurking in every shadow. And then the rumors start—a series of brutal murders, deaths the town can't explain, disappearances that leave a hollow ache in the air. Beacon Hills itself seems to darken as though a storm is brewing over the town, something cold and haunting.

Celeste wants to ignore it, to pretend that the word on her wrist is nothing more than a faded echo of her childhood. She clings to Lydia, to the normalcy they've built together, trying to brush off the strangeness, to convince herself that she's just imagining things. But strange occurrences keep piling up. She starts seeing shadows moving in the corners of her eyes, hearing whispers on the wind, noticing signs of something lurking just beyond what she's been taught to believe. It's as if the world is unraveling, leaving threads that lead to places Celeste has been trained to ignore.

As the danger grows closer and more real, Celeste realizes she can't ignore it any longer. Something in Beacon Hills is calling to her, and her wrist, still bearing the ghostly outline of the word WOLF, feels like a mark of destiny she cannot avoid. With Lydia at her side, Celeste steps into a world she never believed existed—a world of supernatural forces, of creatures hiding in the dark, of ancient powers woven into the very bones of Beacon Hills.

Celeste Harrow is the girl everyone wants to be. But she's about to learn that some destinies cannot be controlled or molded to fit a perfect image. As she confronts the mysteries of her past and the dark future unfolding before her, Celeste must decide who she is beneath the polished mask. With every step, she moves closer to the truth, risking everything for answers that may tear her carefully constructed life apart. What lies ahead is a journey into the unknown, a world of danger and shadows where her wrist no longer bears secrets but a destiny she never chose—one that demands she face the supernatural head-on, or be consumed by it.

NOTES━━━━━━━━━━ tessie my love <3 in the orginal draft of this fic stiles was supposed to be the only love interest but then i started writing scenes between Tessie and Isaac and i fell in love with them- so i changed it to only isaac BUT stiles and tessie are so cute so why not make it into a love triangle

I wanted tessies name to have some sort of connection to her 'power', and harrow pretty much means  signaling future troubles - and i was like OMG that fits perfectly since that is quite literally her 'power'

I hope you enjoy Tessies story!
